I. INITIAL SETUP

1. Download and Install the required apps (BusyBox + ScriptManager) to run this script.

2. Install BusyBox and select BusyBox version v1.16.2 or higher.
NOTE:
Reboot your phone after installation. This is optional but recommended specially if you are upgrading from a lower version of BusyBox.

3. Install Script Manager

4. Open Script Manager and grant SuperUser Access
· Tap on Menu > Advanced Options > Config
· Scroll down until you see Browse as Root
· Tap on it and press the back button to save
· Once again grant Script Manager SuperUser Access to save config
· Exit Script Manager

5. Open Script Manager and browse for V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC8.2.sh.pdf
· Tap on it and set properties to:
1. Favorites (Star Icon)
2. Root (Green Android Skull Icon)
· After setting properties, tap on Run to execute the script installer
· When executed, it will do initial test, be patient and wait for it to complete its tasks

II. SUPERCHARGER INITIAL SETUP

6. A bunch of text will start scrolling on your screen . . . and will ask you if
1. Home Locked in Memory?
· Type N for No and then press enter and another enter to continue to drivers console

7. First time SuperChargers will make a pit stop at Driver Options and set the following for Driver Options:
1. Scrolling Speed : 1 (Fast)
2. Use Build.Prop? : n (No) to use local.prop
3. Fix Emissions on Boot – just press enter to proceed
4. Run Fix Emissions on Boot? : y (Yes) to run Fix Emissions on Boot
· This will fix app permissions to avoid force closes
5. Integrate? : y (Yes)
6. Disable Cool Animations? : y (Yes) to speed up execution of script
8. Press enter to return to drivers Console. Pressing enter will automatically run Quick V6 Cust-OOMizer and will calculate optimum SuperMinFree values
1. Apply SuperMinFree Calculator Settings? : y (Yes) to apply calculated MinFree values so you don’t need to choose from 512 HP, but if you wish to select between 5-7, you need to complete supercharger initial setup and then run supercharger and then select 5-7.
· 5. UnLedded (Multitasking){8,14,40,50,60, 75 MB}
· 6. Ledded (Balanced){8,14,55,70,85,100 MB}
· 7. Super UL (Aggressive){8,14,75,90,95,125 MB}
2. Press The Enter Key... – just press on enter key to continue. This action will backup Re-SuperCharger files to SD Card .
3.SuperClean & ReStart : y (Yes) to SuperClean & ReStart. This will wipe your dalvik-cache and bootup time will take 1-2 minutes depending on the number of apps installed on your phone.
9. After restart, Open Script Manager and:
1. Go to /system/etc/init.d
2. Tap on S99SuperCharger and set the following properties:
· Favorites (Star Icon)
· Root (Green Android Skull Icon)
· Start on Boot (Gear Icon)
3. Tap on Save
4. Close Script Manager and Restart your phone
NOTE:
If you don’t follow step 9, you will get an error the next time you run the script and it will show you owner’s handbook on your default web browser.

III. BULLETPROOF LAUNCHER

10. After restart, open Script Manager and Run V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC8.2.sh.pdf, If you added it to favorites, tap on Menu > Favorites and then tap on V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC8.2.sh.pdf to run it and proceed in applying BulletProof Launcher:
1. SuperCharger will run Test Drive, just wait for it to finish and then continue to the Drivers Console.
2. On the Drivers Console select:
· 13 for OOM Grouping Fixes + BulletProof Launcher
3. BulletProof? : y (Yes) to apply BulletProof Launcher
4. Press Enter to go back to Drivers Console

IV. NITROLAG NULLIFIER

11. Back to the Drivers Console, select:
1. 21. Nitro Lag Nullifier {Experimental}
2. Enter (N)ullify, (U)n-Nullify, E(X)it: N (Nullify) to apply Nitro Lag Nullifier
3. After applying Nitro Lag Nullifier, press enter to go back to Drivers Console.

V. ENGINE FLUSH

12. Back to the Drivers Console, select:
1. 18. Engine Flush {ReCoupe RAM & Kill Lag}
2. Continue and drop all file system caches? : y (Yes) to clear system cache on RAM
4. After Engine Flush, press enter to go back to Drivers Console.

VI. SUPERCLEAN AND RESTART

13. Back to the Drivers Console, select:
1. 30. SuperClean & ReStart {Wipe Dalvik & Reboot}
2. Do you want to SuperClean & ReStart now? : y (Yes) to commence SuperClean and Restart

VII. VERIFY SUPERCHARGER STATUS

14. After restart, Open Script Manager and run V6 SuperCharger again. You should see Supercharger Level: 100%

KickAss Kernelizer Guide

REQUIREMENTS:

1. KickAss Kernalizer Script [DOWNLOAD]

STEPS:

1. Assuming you already have Script Manager installed, Open Script Manager.

2. Browse for KickAssKernelizer_Tweaks_Installer_Update_3_RC8.sh .pdf and set properties to Favorites and Superuser then tap on Run

3. It will show a bunch of text scrolling down...

4. When it asks for an input (KickAss/Chew Gum/KAK Stick/Exit), type K for KickAss and press enter.

5. Now the script will ask you, whether you want to enable I/O Scheduler. Select Yes to enable I/O Scheduler.

6. After that, reboot your device.

7. Open Script Manager again and navigate to system/etc/init.d folder and look for S98KickAssKernalizer script.
Set the properties to: Superuser and Run at Boot and favorites (optional) and tap on Save.
You will notice that the icon of the script changed to green android skull+gear+star, if so, you are on the right path.

8. Reboot your device and see the increase in speed and performance.

9. Optionally you can install No-Frills CPU Control to manage CPU Governors and I/O Schedulers available on your phone including the one from KickAss Kernalizer

Increase RAM using Swap File and Swap Partition

What you need:

MiniTool Partition Wizard for SD Card Partitioning

A MicroSD HC 4GB or higher class 6 or class 10

MicroSD HC Card Adapter

A card reader (if your pc doesn't have card reader built in | USB Mount is not adviseable)

Swapper2 from Google Play Store [DOWNLOAD]

ADB Shell or terminal Emulator (to check if swap is activated)

Make sure you have BusyBox installed

Before we start, lets do some reading . . .

RAM
What is RAM
Random Access Memory (RAM) is temporary data storage that the CPU uses during calculations. The more RAM a device has, the more calculated results the CPU can store - which means less time the CPU has to do the same thing over and over again. In other words, the CPU can check RAM to see if it has already made a particular calculation in the recent past. If it has, it can use the pre-computed results instead of wasting processing time recomputing the same calculation. In short, more RAM means a more efficient (and faster) device.

SWAP
What is SWAP
Swap is, in short, virtual RAM. With swap, a small portion of the hard drive is set aside and used like RAM. The computer will attempt to keep as much information as possible in RAM until the RAM is full. At that point, the computer will begin moving inactive blocks of memory (called pages) to the hard disk, freeing up RAM for active processes. If one of the pages on the hard disk needs to be accessed again, it will be moved back into RAM, and a different inactive page in RAM will be moved onto the hard disk ('swapped'). The trade off is disks and SD cards are considerably slower than physical RAM, so when something needs to be swapped, there is a noticeable performance hit.
Unlike traditional swap, Android's Memory Manager kills inactive processes to free up memory. Android signals to the process, then the process will usually write out a small bit of specific information about its state (for example, Google Maps may write out the map view coordinates; Browser might write the URL of the page being viewed) and then the process exits. When you next access that application, it is restarted: the application is loaded from storage, and retrieves the state information that it saved when it last closed. In some applications, this makes it seem as if the application never closed at all. This is not much different from traditional swap, except that Android apps are specially programed to write out very specific information, making Android's Memory Manager more efficient that swap.

Step by Step Guide
How to create Swap Partition
Using MiniTool Partition Wizard

Plug in you MicroSD HC Card to your computer using the card adapter. (Do not use USB Mount)

Open MiniTool Partition Wizard and look for the card

Right Click on it and select Delete Partition

Click on Apply to Delete the Partition

Right Click on it again and select Create Partition

Set the partitions as follows:
1st partition:
Label: Android-SD
Create as: Primary
File System: Fat32
Partition size: as much as you want!

2nd partition:
Label: Android-EXT3 (2nd partition is for EXT which you can use for A2SD or Link2SD)
Create as: Primary
File System: EXT3 (be it a custom kernel or ROM with EXT4 support, use EXT3 still -play safe! )
Partition size: MIN: 256 MB MAX: 1024MB (1GB)

3rd partition:
Label: (do not put anything)
Create as: Primary
File System: Linux Swap
Partition size: MIN: 32MB MAX: 1024MB(1GB) RECOMMENDED: 256MB

After creating partitions, click Apply to apply changes.

How to use Swap
For us to be able to use swap file or swap partition, we need to use Swapper2 which you can get from Google Play.

Download and Install Swapper2 (of course)

After installing, open Swapper2 and navigate to Menu > Settings

Swapper preferences: (for kernels that doesn't have swap partition support)

Run swapper at startup (put a check)

Swap place: /sd card/swapfile.swp (you can place it in a folder if you don't like a messy sd card structure )

Swap size: MIN: 10 MB MAX: 256MB RECOMMENDED: 32MB (choose any)

Swapiness: RECOMMENDED: 10MB SYSTEM DEFAULT: 60MB MAX: 100MB (choose any)

Safe unmount (put a check)

Safe remount (put a check)

Advanced preferences: (for Kernels that supports swap partition only)
Use swap partition (put a check)
Swap partition: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

After setting preferences, press back and tap on "ON" to turn on swap. Reboot afterwards

How can I tell if swap is running?
Go to the terminal emulator - or open adb shell - and run 'free'.
If it looks like this (with zeros in the swap line), you do not have swap:

NOTE:
You need to turn off swap before you mount SD via USB, if you don't you will not be able to mount sd as swapfile is active and set to read only which will deny request to mount USB Storage.

How to Have 750 MB Internal Menory in Android phones (dualboot mod)

this is only one of dualboot implementation based on irfanbagus's work. in this mod the second ROM will installed on sdcard with modified partition size. we'll make bigger partition on data and system partition.

requirement:
1. know how to customize a rom.
2. know how to install a custom kernel
3. know how to partition sdcard, and of course
3. a sdcard minimal 8gb class 6.

what you'll nedd:
1. a custom rom to be modified.

the steps:

make 4 partition on your sdcard. all partition is primary. my recommended setting for all partition is. 6gb fat32 on first partition, 300mb ext3 on 2nd partition, 300mb ext3 for 3rd partition, and the rest ext3 for 4th partition. you can modify the the 1st and 4th size but don't change the 2nd and 3rd partition size.

feel free to use any method to install the kernel. you can use mai77's, faqbly's method or odin to install the kernel.

3. >>>ROM preparation<<<
extract your custom rom. replace meta-inf folder with the one I've give to you. this script will install your rom to your sdcard partition. re-zip the rom, then copy it to your formatted sdcard (in the 1st partition of course). if these script didn't work check irfan's original post for detailed guide on modifying installer script here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1598803

4. >>>dual boot setting and ROM installation<<<
create a blank file in sdcard named 'bootsdcard' then go to recovery mode. install your custom rom. wait till it finished then reboot. the first installation will take a longer than the usual. be patient.

finish. enjoy your 2nd rom with larger /data and /system partition

there are several possibilities on installing the new rom. in most cases, it have succesfully installed the rom (I've got no report on installation failure till this moment). but if the rom doesn't work, you'll need to modify the rom and the installer script.

As VLC is an open source project independent developers are allowed to make changes to the software in order to make use of that.

This is just an alpha release of the software. "There are two builds available of VLC for Android, known as NEON and NONEON. The difference is in the processor type. Because VLC for Android makes use of the NDK (Native Development Kit), it is compiling native-level binaries that will only work on the processor class for which they were designed. Samsung Galaxy mini S5570 users can now easily update their phones with the latest beta 7 version of ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware with the help of some simple steps which we will be checking out in the due course of this article. Please be informed that this is not an official firmware update released by Samsung Electronics and also there won’t be any official updates for this device which is a very unfortunate event. But not to worry as constant coverage on updates can be found over here on Android Advices. Since it’s a beta firmware, there will be some bugs, but as in when the time progresses, we will get to see many updates which will fix the issues if at all there are any. Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

Disable all the antivirus suites in your computer and uninstall the same in your device as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

Enable the USB Debugging in Galaxy mini S5570 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked as shown in the below screen capture.

Irrespective of the current firmware you are ON, you need to ensure that you have rooted the same as this firmware can only be applied on the rooted firmwares.

So, once you finish following all the above mentioned instructions you can now proceed to the next page where we have summed up a detailed list of tutorial which you need to follow so as to update your Galaxy mini S5570.

Procedure to Update Galaxy mini S5570 with ICS Beta 7 Cyanogen mod 9 Firmware:

After downloading ICS CM9 Package for Galaxy mini S5570 (Beta 7 (untested) for Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 (8 Mar 2012) ” )from here to your computer.

Now, turn Off the device so that it can be then entered into the recovery mode.

The recovery mode in the Galaxy mini S55700 can be entered by Holding Menu Button and then Power ON the device. If the device turns ON in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache which is there in your device.

Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” > “ICS CM9 Package for Galaxy mini S5570 Beta 7”. It may take up to 10 minutes to process the update file.

For Users Facing Force Close Errors:

Turn off your device so that it can then be entered in the recovery mode.

In recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache after which select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will restart the Galaxy mini S5570.

Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.

Nevertheless, its always good to see that Android users do have a better knowledge of the updating and keeping the phones updated and secure, unlike the iOS ones who first have to think many times before updating, as the phone is at risk of getting locked if they had previously unlocked it. Not all the brands of Android phones provide timely updates for the devices, and there are several reasons for the same.

There are hundreds of Android devices, and hundreds of thousands of users of each of them, but the update availability is always a question. No, the companies cannot be called backward or bad for not sending the updates, as there are multiple reasons behind that. Here are a few reasons that we can give, nothing officially from the companies:

Apps incompatible to the newer version of the OS:

Lagging behind an OS manufacturer, and in this case Google, is what keeps delaying the OS updates because the official OS is out but there isn’t the same pace that the companies see from the App developers in updating their apps and making them compatible for the latest operating system. Quick pre Requisites:

In the process of installing the recovery image or rooting there is a possibility that the data in the device may get deleted or corrupted. So to restore the same, you need to follow the below mentioned steps. Please note that you should not make use of LG Suite for backing up the data as it won’t be supporting the custom recovery image.

Ensure that you have disabled all the antivirus suites in your computer as these tools generally interrupt the process of firmware update.

Procedure to Root & Install Custom Recovery Image in LG Optimus 3D:

First up you need to Download the Recovery Manager package from here to your computer and once you have downloaded, extract the same. From the extracted files, you need to open the adb files so that all the adb drivers are installed in the computer which are very important for installing the custom mod recovery. Ensure that all the files after extraction match with the one which is mentioned below.

Now, from the extracted files you will have to open the file named as “Recovery Manager.bat” and then connect your phone to the computer ensuring that the USB Debugging is enabled in your phone.

Last time we saw the Beta 6 version but in this article we will be checking out on how one can install the latest Beta 7 version. Please be informed that this is not an Official firmware version released by Samsung Electronics.

Pre Requisites:

All the data present in your phone should be backed up as in the process of applying this update, the data might get either lost or corrupted. With the help of below mentioned steps you can easily backup the same. After updating with this release, the KIES won’t recognize the device as it’s a custom ROM firmware.

You also need to ensure that the Dalvik Cache in your phone too is wiped off so as to ensure that just in case if any data cache is there that too is wiped off completely.

The recovery mode in the Galaxy ACE S5830 can be entered by Holding Menu Button and then Power ON the device. If the device turns ON in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode.

Procedure to Update Galaxy ACE S5830 with Beta 7 Cyanogen mod 9 Firmware:

Download the ICS Cyanogen Mod 9 Firmware Package (Click on “Download” > Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 > “Releases” tab > Download File named as “Beta 7 for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (1 Apr 2012) “) from here to your computer.
Once you download, connect your phone to the computer and then place the downloaded zip file in your phone. Ensure that you don’t place the zip file deep into your phone. As soon as you place the file, remove the connected USB cable and turn Off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
The recovery mode in the Galaxy ACE S5830 can be entered by Holding Menu Button and then Power ON the device. If the device turns ON in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode.

In the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Cyanogen Mod 9 Beta 7 Zip file which is placed in the phone.
Once the update process is completed, the device will again land back to the recovery screen. In the recovery screen, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system. If the phone refuses to show the home screen even after 5 minutes of restart, you need to then reinsert the battery.

Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
