Before my memory slips on December 2011

here are the very low quality but meaningful (mostly iphone) photos and memories:

above: running in the cold and altitude

is even fun when you're with Richard Portwood

esp if he's your brother

(he's so hot steam comes off of him)

mom's birthday dinner

screwin around

this kid is hilarious

she found a little boy she liked

and followed him around the Christmas tree

chilly walk around Temple Square

the annual tradition

taking in the beautiful lights

oh how i adore my siblings

a fun dinner at cafe rio

it's fun to hear rich pull out his viola and rob, his violin

it happens really but once a year

i feign slight sickness

just because playing once a year

means you're probably out of tune

but i love it

family walks

are a Portwood favorite

learning quickly

she meets the deer

don't ask why we have this

Christmas night English crackers

i got a little screw set

perfectly handy

(if you've never "done" crackers,

look it up...

everyone kind of holds "hands"

and you pull them open)

annual Portwood Family ice skating evening

we do a train with everyone on the ice

(geez Richard was fast this year at the head...

losing people left and right)

i made a 10 year old friend

who taught me how to turn around mid-stream

and i can skate on one foot with the other high up

it's probably going to take me to some sort of Jr Olympics

the annual Christmas sibling ski days

lunch of the BEST fries and sauces

and an authentic Belgian waffle

filled with Belgian chocolate

(yeah)

i want a couple picture on the slopes

so unfair

rob proposed to crystalyn at the top of Park City Mtn Resort

so i suppose they can have all the ski pics they want

annual Main Street window shopping

this year we lost our beloved black cat of 18 years

and like 18 moves during that time

Snowy is left

clearly she takes guarding the house seriously

annual visits to our favorite gym

my mom is so TOUGH!

nordstrom rack somehow also happens annually

found the most BEAUTIFUL little house-boutique

i want to have one myself someday

called "hip & humble"

great find

night at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple with mom & rich

dinner at the very fun and warm Blue Lemon afterwards

mom matched her salad!

rich wore a great tie

(note the sweet potato fries!)

mom+her kitty

my NEW YEARS besties

so good looking

such fun personalities

oh dad

should never have allowed him to get

that super smart phone

Richard had JUST returned from Russia via Paris

bearing beautiful Russian gifts

my mom is so pretty

she she is wearing a beautiful lei from her sister

who stopped in SLC for a day on way from her home in Hawaii to visit her daughter

beautiful breakfast at the Grand America

the place just makes me feel special

serving his LDS church mission in France

so glad to find he's still funny

Crystalyn's grandpa

a wonderful, talented and fun man

architect of the Washington DC LDS temple

and the Mission Training Center (MTC)

passed away before Christmas

Crystalyn gave Rob some very special cuff links

took all Christmas Eve night

(seriously - I watched like 3 Hallmark movies while doing it)

a picture book of 2011 for mom

my tradition: ornaments for everyone

this year they were so cool

all from O'ahu and very Hawaiian

since i'm the only one without a picture in there

thanks Richard for the most rad apron from Moscow

he arrived home from Moscow via Paris

just days before Christmas

he brought fresh baguettes off the plane

and we arrived in SLC at the same time

so serrendipitous

Here are two of my favorite kids on the planet. They are like 2 additional siblings. They know all about my random love life and I make it a point to know what boys Madison is into and what girls are chasing Chase.
We took a nice little sit in my friends Aston Martin after church on Sunday. Not that you can tell we are sitting in the coolest car you've ever seen but that's why we are smiling so big:)

There is literally no place I'd rather be than on a good beach

Heather and Jason put on a wonderful party. This year's theme was "favorite things".... And I came home with plenty of chocolate and a rad mug.

Never knew that Lyndon and Lady B Johnson went on their first date to one of my favorite spots downtown- the lovely and historical Driskill Hotel. Their ornament hangs upon the gorgeous Christmas tree lit up tonight.
