Red lips, Polka Dot Hips

2013-08-09T18:07:00.001-04:00

Hey guys!!!

So this week I wanted to share my affinity for the 40's with you! I absolutely love the style of this era, the clothing is suited for curves, and I have some. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I ADORE polka dots! I have them in all colors and sizes, however I was missing them in pant form. So you can imagine when I saw these beauties my eyes dilated about 4 times the normal size! lol The fit is impeccable, I couldn't ask for more in a mid-calf capri :) The simplicity of this outfit speaks to me in the best way possible, and scolds my high school self for throwing on every accessory I owned just because. Then again there were times I bought $20 name brand shirts like Apple Bottoms 0_o in the name of "high school fashion" boy I tell ya I've grown!!

Peace. Love. Light

Dress down... Skirt over...

2013-07-22T18:41:00.004-04:00

Hola guys!!!

I wore this outfit last thursday to work on a sweltering day! I usually never know what I'm going to wear to work until the day of, and this day was no different. I began rummaging through my clothes and pulled out this blue and white dress, but its a tad boring by itself. So I continued looking and picked out this lovely chartreuse skirt, and thought... these would look well together... so I gave it a go, and walah!

I was thinking the dress would be lumpy under the skirt, but on the contrary it was rather smooth. I like this combo and may do more like it :) Oh, by the by check out my new earrings, aren't they cool, I thought so lol.

As the days become more hot, I'm running out of ideas of what to wear, and not look like a hoochie mama lol Don't be surprise if you check back up here and see me dawning a flesh toned leotard 0_o

Thrift this week and share what you find!

Peace. Love. Light.

Ok..... so we won't mention, my lack of posting ok?.... :)

Hey lovers!!!!

I miss-ded you! (that's no typo, I meant to write that)

During my lapse of blogging, numerous things have happened. Firstly, I got a new job (praise GOD), I moved in with my friends, and I turned 25!( I will be posting photos of that at some point). Those things alone can explain my absence.

So, on to what you are here for! This dress. THE END. lol

I don't think I need to write more, but what the heck, I'll humor you. I bought this beauty at Goodwill for $6.99 kind of steep for me, but that's me. I know if I didn't snatch it off the hanger with haste it would not be mine, rather dawning someone else's figure. With pleasure I surrendered the cash and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

PEACE. LOVE. LIGHT

HAPPY MONDAY :)

Hola Guys!!!!

Haven't been up here in a minute!! :( For shame, I know.

Well, I was out with my friend Zee on this lovely day last week. I asked her to take my pictures since she was out with me! (After fussing and showing her how) I think they came out pretty nice :) Thanks Zee!

Now on to the dress. With major reluctance, I bought this dress. Not because I didn't like it ( because I love it) However it was $15 at the DAV thrift store!!! Anyone who really knows me KNOWS I don't pay over $8 for a single item at the thrift lol and $15 at the thrift store is like $75 retail to me lol

I had to get it though, never seen anything like it and received so many compliments!

Happy Thursday Loves!

Peace :)

Girls just want to have fun...

2013-03-13T22:48:00.001-04:00

Hola peeps!

So as I'm rummaging through my room as usual trying to figure out what to wear, breaking a sweat and what not. Trying on numerous outfits, like no, this is too "girly" and this is too that. So I decided to have fun, thats what girls really want right? right? lol

So, I just went for it, jumped right into the deep in, ok well not really; but sort of. I wore this skirt that is literally so short, that my niece could wear it as a dress and she is 1years old! To remedy the situation, I fashioned it over these lovely emerald ankle pants. Threw on a Jimmy Hendrix tee that also seemed to fit the bill, the FUN bill that is! :)

;) Peace, Love

FEATURE: BGLH INTERVIEW!!!!!

2013-02-17T11:08:00.001-05:00

Imagine my surprise a little over a week ago receiving an email from the lovely Meosha Tall, of BGLH, wanting to do an interview with me! At first I was like maybe she didn't mean to email me lol! After getting over the initial shock, I agreed and now my interview is live on their site now!!

Thanks again!

Also I want to thank the influx of followers that incurred thereafter, welcome!

you can read my interview here

Cool...

Hola Guys!

If you couldn't tell by the title, I felt cool on this day. Not to say I don't feel "cool" everyday ( because I shonuff do!) lol I think maybe its the jean jacket or maybe the fact that I got my hair "did" that day! Whatever the case I felt good! My fluctuating weight has caused these once fitted lovely pants, to begin to sag :( A good wash and they will be back to perfection...then back to the dreadful saggy bottom; moments thereafter. No matter lol perhaps I'll wear a belt next time. Oh, I got these cutout booties from the thrift and I was excited, they fit! Consequently, after having them on for a while caused my pinky toe to cry out in agony, so I had to rescue her from distress. I will be breaking these buddies in!

Peace...Love

Hey Guys!

If you don't know, I live in Virginia. With that being said, the weather here is nothing short of bipolar! One day its snowing, then the following day it will be 75 degrees o_0! To combat this crazy weather, I opted for something cozy and nothing says cozy like a chunky knit sweater which is also a turtleneck which only adds to the comfort. These pants....what can I say? I ABSOLUTELY love them, and have since I picked them up....just cool. Even cooler was the price at under $5. What wasn't such a cool price was this dern Ruby Woo lipstick from MAC, at a whopping $15 I almost went comatose. All I kept thinking was the many outfits I could have gotten at the thrift store for that lol, hey I guess I should "treat myself"

Peace...Love

{ROYALTY}

2013-01-15T22:22:00.003-05:00

Hi Everyone!!

I always find great pieces at the Thrift store, and these magnificent pieces are no exception. Everyone that knows me, knows that I can't pass up a pattern; also I'm keen on skirts of the fitted variety. So naturally, this aztec print shirt and maxi skirt were right up my alley.

I have been wearing my hair like this for almost a week now, it reminds me of a crown. The color purple is associated with the regal and high class; so I found it only fitting that I wear it being the Queen I am :)

Hello my lovelies!!!!!

Its been quite sometime, I know, I know. Between my new job and regular day activities, the day is not even mine anymore SMH hence the lack of posting! However, I'm back! :) On a thrift outing, I ran across these lovely paisley pants and upon further inspection they were CORDS and I adore corduroy! Everything about these pants, says STATEMENT so I treated them in such a fashion; wearing minimal colors and dainty earrings. I wore this to brunch and shopping.

How is your holidays going?

Emerald+Oxblood

2012-10-27T19:00:00.000-04:00

Hola Peeps!!

This week has flown by, too fast for my liking! Although, I'm always thrilled for the weekend, with unexpected yet fun times with my good friends!! Speaking of friends we all went out friday, Chipotle and a movie night, can you say FUN! I love my girlies!

Ok, so onto the outfit. As you may know, Ox blood is a big "trend" for fall (although I don't follow trends) I do love this color on my lips! Also, following trends happens to be this beautiful emerald color. This blazer, a gift from my friend, that fits me perfectly and compliments my skin tone. It was a little gloomy out so I threw on this hat from the thrift, also is my first time wearing it lol.

How's your weekend going guys?

Have Fun!

ANORAK...

2012-10-19T14:42:00.000-04:00

Hey homeslices,

So you all may know that the Anorak is among the many fall essentials for your wardrobe! I happen to pick this baby up last year, at the Salvation Army! I love the length of it, so much I wore it as a dress lol I love this utilitarian vibe!

The belt and necklace echoed the same vibrations so I threw them on. Early fall dressing is thee best, effortless :)

What fall essentials are you trying??

Have a great weekend guys!!!!

2012-10-12T11:00:00.000-04:00

Hey!!!

Here's another black outfit, although not completely black. I saw this striped turtleneck in target like last year around the same time, and I said to myself, "I like this top, but not the price". Needless to say I didn't get it, However being the thrifty that I am, I found one at le thrift for like a $1.50! What's funny is that it happened to be target brand lol! So, I do love stripes, just as much as the next person, although I think MIME when I see black and white stripes. No matter, I embrace the theatrics minus the silence :)

Happy Friday!!!

Have a great weekend!

Fall...

2012-10-02T18:36:00.004-04:00

Fall is here guys!!!( well, its been here) lol

This is by far my favorite season, why you ask, the weather, colors and of course Layering!

Recently, My sugar mama Meredith (one of my best friends) treated me to two pairs of shoes!!!! I know, crazy right!?

I love the three contrasting straps, it makes me feel, fancy... lol Oh, and I made this skirt from a dress that was ill fitting, I love repurposing! The combination of the skirt and jean vest echoes the color scheme of the shoes, for a nice pulled together fall look.

P.s- I know this isn't a hair blog, however this was my first time trying a wash and go. I don't know how I feel about it quite yet. I like the curl definition, but not the shrinkage! lol

*Happy Tuesday*

Black Power...

2012-09-26T10:00:00.000-04:00

Hey Friends!!

Me being a colorful person by nature, I always have color on and despised the idea of an all black outfit. Let me tell you, I underestimated the sheer power black gives off! It felt weird at first to step out in all black, however once I did, I loved it!! The level of chicness this outfit echoes is unbelievable. Dare I say, I love it! I fully intend on putting more all black outfits in my rotation! I wanted to maintain the crispness of this look, so minimal accessories are best, I went for my trusty bronze earrings that echo the hardware on my overcoat.

Have you tried an all black look?

Forced Peplum...

2012-09-21T23:11:00.001-04:00

Happy Friday!!!

Summer is dwindling down my friends, so I'm trying to wear all my fun bright colors now before its too late! I have always been fond of the Peplum silhouette, and since I don't really own any, I decided to create one! I just took a basic white sleeveless button up and tied it up over an eyelet tank, and wahlah, there you have it a peplum blouse! I loved how it turned out, don't you?

This is my first time wearing this lovely skirt given to me by my lovely friend, Bianca! (Thanks B!) I love the colors, and the beautiful florals. Are you ready for summer to end?

Have an awesome weekend lovelies!!

Fatigued...

2012-09-11T12:29:00.000-04:00

Hola!

I thrifted this fatigued jacket a while ago, since then I had only worn it once! So I HAD to take this baby out for a spin since the weather was cooler yesterday. I always loved the juxtaposition between hard and soft, manly and feminine qualities; so I decided to play them up in this outfit. The dress being the base of my outfit adds the softness, and the jacket just sprinkles the roughness that pulls the look together. :) I wouldn't be me if I didn't have some color in there somewhere, so I added this DIY ruffle brooch.

Have an awesome day guys!

Chevron & Scallops

2012-09-06T22:46:00.001-04:00

Hey you guys!

So lately I've been hit with a dilemma, I can't fit any of my clothes! Those skirts that fit just "right", now require a quick safety pin remedy -_- I not going to complain though, at least I'm losing instead of gaining. I began to rummage through my tops to find this oversized chevron sweater, that I had not worn in ages! Today, I decided to wear it as a dress, yes it was short but don't you fret I had shorts underneath :) I kept it simple with the jewelry and shoes for a boho chic feel. Oh and how lovely are these scalloped edges?

It's 10:42 on a Thursday night, So I guess I'll say it

Happy Friday :)

Cloudy with a chance...

2012-08-10T22:32:00.003-04:00

Hey guys!

I have returned!!!! Mwwwwahhhhaaa<---- thats my evil laugh lol

So, I've been under the weather for what seems like FOREVER! It started with crazy migraines, then one morning I woke up and the migraine was gone, but my phalanges looked like sausages and my joints ached with pain! I took some med's and I'm feeling much better now!

So enough about my ailments. I wasn't aware that it would rain today, it was still warm so I decided to go with this little number!! Something about this blouse makes me think clouds, so it was appropriate for the impending rain. Oh and I finally get to debut my new vintage Coach bag!! It reeks of cigarettes ( which I'm desperately trying to get out!) its beautiful none the less though!

Just a casual look for a casual day!

Happy Friday peeps!

Hola guys!!!!

This dress is hot! (if you couldn't tell by the title) Although, I'm a Texas Pete type of gal :)

The temperature is still dialed to Hell fire here in VA, so what better way to combat that then a nice airy , flowy, light dress?

I first wore this beauty, when I went to New York for the first time, last summer!! I just love how effortless it was, and chic at the same time. I found this some time ago at the Salvation Army I believe, for $2!! :) I tied up the front to add some flair, and threw my favorite clutch in for good measure.

*Happy Monday*
