It’s that time of year when the kids trickle home with folders full of finished paperwork, worksheets, old tests, erasers, pencils, and other stuff from their school desks and lockers.   Crumpled papers, wadded up packets of something or other, all make it home to one big mess in my kitchen.   What was once shiny and brand new is now torn, ratty, and used. So I promised an update on the cicada invasion for our area and here it is.   In our yard, zip, zilch, nada.   I haven’t seen any on bushes, plants or trees in our immediate yard.  I think because our neighborhood is newer that the soil was disturbed enough that we don’t get this particular bunch in masses like other sections of town.  That doesn’t mean we don’t have them but I haven’t <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/blogspot/qDIN/~4/MweEPmmtfBY" height="1" width="1"/>
