The Voice: Do You Hear What I Hear?

I love The Voice. I really do. But sometimes I wonder...are the judges hearing the same thing I am? Maybe the mix is off but when the judges are all excited and praising the singer, I'm thinking "yikes."

Example A: Jermaine Paul singing "Complicated"

I didn't dig this at all but that's why I'm not a judge on the show.

My favorite part is watching the judges reaction to when they first hear "the voice". You could almost make a drinking game out of this show too. Drink a shot every time Christina looks like she's going to have a wardrobe malfunction. Take a drink every time Adam says "I won this thing last year" and a drink every time Blake talks about Miranda.

Breaking: I have here the commercials from the Super Bowl.

Things I've learned: David Beckham tries to sell ladies some bodywear. Jerry Seinfeld is back, in 1:52 seconds or less anyways.

That's all I know. This is what Twitter tells me. My lady friends went 'BeckBeck' for the soccer star and my friend Josh approved Jerry's appearance and something about Jay Leno.

I didn't watch the game, but don't tell me who won. I don't really care.

I did watch Madonna and I will say I quite enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm pretty sure my mouth was open the whole time in awe.

Cee-Lo in a shiny church robe was enjoyable for the fact he has tiny t-rex arms and he just wants us to remember not to "Forget You...(him)".

Nicki Minaj is a cute little thing and I never have any clue what she says. Then there's the other chick - good for you for doing that thing you did.

It was a visual mind blow. I loved it.

Kristen Bell is my absolute favorite lady in tv land. She's so great and adorable. She's a frequent flyer to the Craig Ferguson program so when I saw that she was on Ellen, I knew I just had to watch.

The thing is, I actually fell asleep watching last night. So tired. And I remember missing most of this bit but thanks tot he magic of YouTube, we can all enjoy this piece of gold.

Wrong Side Of The Bed

"Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?! Meowch!" (I added that last cat noise for extra effect on mood)

Most of us probably don't take that into consideration or even have a "wrong" side. I don't care for the expression because the fact we have to get out of a bed, that's the problem right there.

I have the side of the cranks today. It's my own fault and I can admit that. I stayed up late and watched some PVR shows like "Alcatraz" and "Glee".

Ok, first off...Glee.

Has anyone who acts or produces that show seen a music video or been to a Britney Spears concert?! No one ever, and I mean ever (except the Glee actors apparently) lip sync that bad. It's BAD. Over exaggerated mouth movements like they're trying to eat a chicken whole. A WHOLE CHICKEN. And there is way, waaaaay to much Artie. I promise, after this season I'm done with you. You hear that Glee!? I'M DONE.

So it was late to bed. I didn't have coffee this morning (until now, 1:30PM) so that probably didn't help my cause. P.S. I need a solid 2-3 hours before I want to have conversations. So it's best to not talk to me in the morning. #TiredVibes

I haven't mastered typing on the iPhone 4S yet.

I don't think I will ever become the type master I once was on the trusted, piece of crap BlackBerry.

I remember always wanting to have one of those 'funny' auto correct texts that you read on the Internet or see on Ellen...turns out they just come to me.

Sometimes my thumb (right one to be exact) gets in the way. Sometimes I see the auto correct show up and I think I clicked it and then I get 'send' happy too fast.

And sometimes I'm just plain frustrated.

It's a long story how I fell in love with a gal named Hannah Hart. To be honest, I am in love with a lot of people from the Internets but it all started with this episode of "My Drunk Kitchen".

I mean, COME ON. Who doesn't enjoy this?? I remember immediately confessing my love to her via Twitter. (or Twittah)

The nominations are in! Kenny Chesney somehow leads with 9, Jason Aldean couldn't be any hotter with 6, Lady Antebellum might own the night with their 5 nominations. Brad Paisley has 4 while Toby Keith, Taylor Swift have 3.

Hilarity will ensue on April 1 (no joke) when Blake Shelton and Reba host live from the MGM Grand. You could be there in person if you want to spend a lot of money or you can watch on the television. CBS cares.

There is nothing I love more than live music. I love live albums, I love live shows. The energy that artists throw at you a few hours a night is powerful. It takes you to a different place. It takes your mind off of anything and everything in your life. For 3 hours a night, you're here for a good time.

My first show (if memory serves me right) was Merle Haggard. Now there is more to that story and there is a reason why Johnny Reid's tour poster is up there. I'll tie it all together, don't worry.

Rewind to 2000-2001, I was in Grade 10 at R.F. Staples Secondary School in Westlock. It was biology class with Mr. Rakoz. If any of my friends or former students know of Mr. R, they know he's a bit crazy. Crazy in a fun way. Often he would put on some music while we were working on labs. One time it was Enya (he's responsible for me purchasing said album) and the other was a local singer whom he taught long ago, CDJ.

He told us about Carolyn Dawn Johnson (who was still a bit unknown at the time) and how she was a student here. My English teacher, Miss. Seward, was in the same grade as her and they graduated together. I remember hearing her music for the first time and knowing that she was "a girl from Westlock" was something pretty darn cool. I never really lived anywhere or knew of anyone from any of the towns I lived in growing up who was a 'celebrity'.

Not long after, I picked up CDJ's first album "Room With A View". The next thing I know, I'm a fan. I'm a big fan. She's from my hometown and she's taking country music by storm. CDJ opened up for Merle Haggard at 'SkyReach Centre' in November 2001. My friend and I got tickets but not for Merle. It was to see CDJ - the girl from Westlock, the one who walked the same halls as we did at R.F. We thought it was pretty cool - from small town Alberta to Nashville to the big stage.

Could you believe we got our hands on meet and greet passes? My first ever backstage experience too.

Now the rest is history. CCMA Awards, a Juno, a ACM, 4 albums - that's proof to follow your dreams and to never give up. (If you don't know her history, read it here). I've been very fortunate though my job to meet her on numerous occasions and interview her and I get starstruck every time.

So my point, when heard CDJ was going on tour with Johnny Reid this year, I was beyond stoked. I need to go. I thought about going to Saskatoon but I settled on Rexall Place in Edmonton. With Wesetlock just 45 minutes away, I suspect a big hometown crowd. That's one of the reasons I want to be at this show. It's going to be amazing.

Thanks for everything CDJ, your music has meant so much to me in my personal life more than you will know. I am a super fan for life.

Don't act like you're not impressed

Ah well, it's probably for the best that I won't be one of the few in line for public humiliation. Says so right in the rules that you might be made a fool so you can't be hating on the show or it's producers.

Do I think the show is a bit shallow? Yeah I do. If you're not a hottie squared (that's hottie hottie, more hot than your regular hot) then you probably should wait for "Beauty and The Geek Canada".

Can you find love in this short time? I think you can find lust. Maybe you can find love. It can't be healthy though to have this process, throw everything on the line and potentially have your heart splattered from coast to coast. Can you imagine getting "Friendzoned" on national tv?!

"You're a nice guy/girl and all, but I just want to be friends. I'm just here for the pool party"

You either love this show, or hate it. I'm 90/10 split. You can figure out which number is for which.

Here's to being drunk all the time and shattered dreams! And if you're the Bachelor and you pick your lucky lady, here's crossing the fingers that it works out in the end. The Bachelor track record isn't that great when it comes to relationships working out in the end.

Mr. Hammond, the phones are working.

It stars Sam Neill (Dr. Grant/Jurassic Park), Jorge Garcia (Hurley/Lost), and the hotness that is Sarah Jones (never heard of her before). This show freaked my freakin' freak. It has a bit of "LOST" (because JJ Abrams is the dude behind this show) a bit of "The Event", and a hint of "Prison Break".

This show is so good and I don't know anything about modern tv. All I can say is that it will have a happy home on my PVR.

My other excitement from the night was trying to solve the mystery problem of my plugged up ears. Twitter April suggested a kit-do-hickey thing that is suppose to clean out the goo. That has to be one of the most craziest feelings in the world. I had the leg shakes. (Kicking leg out because it tingles so much)

Last night Producer Megh and I went to NYFries at the mall and enjoyed a little post countdown date. It inspired/motivated (also because it was cold) to make chili. I thought of almost doing a "My Drunk Kitchen" style vlog but that idea is already on the internets. I thought "My Pantless Kitchen" because I wasn't wearing any. THEN I thought I should really start video blogging (or vloging). I tried. I don't like how it looks so I'll just stick to typing.

So...yeah. That's...it.? It's time to get back to work. P.S. Watch Alcatraz (also PS I'm skipping American Idol this year...again...so don't ask me if I saw the show).
