Well another Wimbledon came to a close yesterday with Djokovic winning the men's championship. I was hoping for a 5 setter but Nadal seemed to be off form. Djokovic in number one in the world now. Anyway 49 weeks now to next Wimbledon!

I enjoyed the final this afternoon but it's a pity that it wasn't tighter. Congratulations to Petra Kvitova on her first grand slam win over Maria Sharapova. I'm looking forward to the men's final tomorrow, it could be a 5 set match!

Well only three days left now. Should be a good afternoon though with the men's semi's. First on centre court Djokovic and Tsonga followed by Nadal and Murray. I have to go out at 8 pm or just after so if there is still play I will have to listen to it in the car!

Bernard Tomic the 18 year old who knocked out Robin Soderling in the 3rd round reaches the quarter finals after beating Xavier Malisse. Looks like a new top player in the making. He started the tournament at 158 in the world so this should boost his ranking.

Venus and Serena both say goodbye to Wimblodon 2011

What a shock, Serena loses to Marion Bartoli then straight after Venus goes out to Tsvetana Pironkova. I thought Marion Bartoli had lost her chance after missing out on taking the second set 7-5 to win the match. She played well in the tie-break though, kept cool and took it 8-6. She meets Sabine Lisicki in the first quarter final on centre court. Tsvetana Pironkova had an easier win 6-2 6-3 and plays Petra Kvitova first match on number 1 court tomorrow.

Looks like a good afternoon at Wimbeldon. Looking forward to Laura Robson v Maria Sharapova, Daniela Hantuchova v Victoria Azarenka and Andy Murray v Ivan Ljubicic. It's a pity that Nadal is playing at the same time as Murray. I think the Murray and Ljubicic match should be an exciting match though as Ljubicic seems to be playing really well.
