Happy New Year...oh wait, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and annual Pittsburg trip first!

That's right, somehow I have recently been running low on time! I've missed quite a few happenings. Turns out with a one year old you move constantly. :)

For Thanksgiving we made our long overdue trip back to Hotchkiss. It was really good to have all of the Myrtle's together...it had been 2 years! Bree and Alexis got to play together and the grown ups had some classic game time. There wasn't even too much arguing.

Just a week before Christmas we made the annual trip to Pittsburg
to watch uncle Dustin play basketball. Bree was very busy exploring!

Bree was sick most of Christmas vacation, but she still enjoyed opening presents,
playing in the snow for the first time and time with family.

Turns out Brooke was able to get some good shots. I was worried as the day consisted mostly of melt downs, pulling on her bows and running out of the frame. This is for sure a hard girl to pin down for pictures ... she is always on the go! For now the sneak peak, I can't wait to see more!

It is hard to believe a year has flown by and our sweet Bree is a little girl.

It seems like yesterday we were holding this fragile little baby for the first time.

Everyday we love her more and are so happy this beautiful baby is really ours!

She learns so quickly and loves us so freely....we are very blessed!

Changes

In the past weeks we have seen quite a few changes in our little girl...teeth, waving, crawling, saying mama and now on to walking.

Two little stubs of teeth on the bottom have poked through and I don't think the top two are far behind.

Bree has been waving to us for quite a while, but recently she has started waving bye to Miss Linda at daycare (but only Miss Linda). She has a sassy attitude towards the daycare workers if they are out of their usual spot.

Crawling...well, Bree's crawl has a little bit of a scoot to it. With one knee down and one foot down, she gets going pretty quick. What I adore most about her crawling is as she gets to going fast she scrunches her nose and snorts. The not so cuteness to crawling is keeping her away from Lucy's food and water. So it seems, no matter where I "hide" Lucy's bowls Bree finds them within seconds. She knows she is not to be touching them but this is how it goes every time. She looks up at me oh so sweetly and grins, proceeds to touch the water, I say no, Bree claps and quickly dumps the water. There used to be the same fascination with the plants, but they are not so interesting anymore, although sometimes I see her pause to look at them deciding, should I taste the dirt...happily I am trilled she usually passes them by.

Aww...and my favorite new thing. Mama, mama, mama. We hear this a lot these days, not just as a babble but to get my attention. It is great to see her reaction when I turn to her when she calls. I am a lucky mama!

Recently Bree is getting brave with the cruising along furniture. She will go and wants to get moving, but still reaches and reaches until she can grab something else before stepping. She will walk behind her walker and really gets going...too fast most of time or she gets distracted and falls. Just the other day I did get her to take a couple of steps toward me before falling...won't be long now!

I'm sure I have missed a few things, but she learns a ton everyday. I see the learning that happens daily and forget when people haven't seen her in a while they miss the little things that equal BIG changes!

Arizona trip

A couple of weeks ago we took a family vacation to Arizona. First we stopped off in Tucsan to see Mary and Dan, we were so glad we were able to spend some time with them. Bree was a very lucky girl to have so many hugs and kisses.

Bree got to go swimming for the first time! She thought it was alright.

She likes it a lot more now!

After a couple of days we drove to Phoenix and then on to Sedona...
there was beautiful scenery everywhere.

Of course we made the trek to the Grand Canyon as well. Bree was a perfect traveler the whole trip. She didn't mind the layovers, the dirt blowing in her face at the Grand Canyon, the hot hot sun or the car rides all over the state of Arizona.

Bree and mama stayed really far away from the edge. We just would take a seat while daddy and Chris pushed the limits...

I know since Bree is my baby I think she is gorgeous, but I just had to share our photo shoot fun from today. I know after seeing these you'll think so too!

I have this cool little tub I couldn't help but put her in. She loves my pearl necklace and I love how darling she is in her hat...the perfect pair! I just love my sweet girl!

A special visit

I was so happy Lauren was able to stop in for a visit. We didn't do much of anything but spend some time bonding. Bree warmed up to Lauren very quickly; she was always giggling when Lauren would smile at her. Lauren is a very special aunt to little B and we can't wait to see her again.
