Good oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work independently as well as in a team, are expected. Preference will be given, on a case-by-case basis, to candidates with first-hand experience in protein structural biology and computational biology, and with more than two years of laboratory experience.

Tenure and Appointment: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview (Online mode). Job Summary: To evaluate the effectiveness of Topical Oxygen Therapy (TOT) and combined regenerative therapy (local insulin injection plus autologous Platelet Rich Fibrin [PRF]), alone and in combination, in improving wound healing and long-term clinical outcomes among patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The study will assess their effects on time to complete wound closure, ulcer recurrence, amputation, quality of life, safety, and cost-effectiveness over a 12-month follow-up period. This will be a 4 treatment arm, open label, 8 centre trial, with a net sample size of 252 patients. Patients will be followed up for a year from baseline.

Salary : Rs. 72,800/- p.m

Key Responsibilities: The Non-medical project research scientist will serve as the Central Scientific and Program Coordinator and will support the PI & Co-PI and study teams across all 8 participating centers in the overall coordination and conduct of the study.

The responsibilities will include:

Project Research Scientist -I (Non Medical)- ICMR BLUE SHOCK Trail Project

Job Summary:

Septic shock is a common and highly lethal ICU condition; Indian ICU data report mortality of up to 50–55%. A key driver of refractory vasodilation is excessive nitric oxide production through the NO–cGMP pathway. Methylene blue, an inhibitor of this pathway, is inexpensive and widely available, but high-quality evidence on its early use in septic shock — particularly from Indian ICUs — is lacking.

BLUE-SHOCK is a single-centre, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded outcome assessment (PROBE), parallel-group controlled trial. One hundred adults meeting Sepsis-3 criteria for septic shock will be randomized 1:1, within 24 hours of vasopressor initiation, to receive either adjunctive intravenous methylene blue along with standard guideline-based care, or standard care alone.

The primary outcome is time to shock reversal (cessation of vasopressors for ≥ 6 consecutive hours). Secondary outcomes include cumulative norepinephrine-equivalent dose, mean arterial pressure, cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance over the first 48 hours, lactate clearance, duration of mechanical ventilation, ICU length of stay, 28-day mortality, adverse events, and ICU treatment cost. The study will also explore biomarker-based (IL-6, procalcitonin) and hemodynamic phenotypes associated with treatment response.

Overall day-to-day scientific and operational management of the trial, including:

Screening of ICU admissions against Sepsis-3 eligibility criteria and maintenance of the screening and enrolment log.
Coordinating the informed consent process with the investigators, including consent from legally authorized representatives and re-consent on recovery of capacity
Implementing randomization and allocation concealment procedures (sequentially numbered opaque sealed envelopes) and safeguarding allocation records.

Project Description: CO2 is the key resource for microalgae photosynthesis and carbon uptake converted to the dry matter, clearly demonstrating the CO₂ capture and utilization (CCU). With the increasing rate of CO2 emission, an advanced process is required for faster CO2 concentration, capture and utilization by microalgal system. Quantum containers (QCs) have proven chemistry for CO2 adsorption due to their unique nano-capsule structure, well-defined pores and easy exchange of their interior with the surrounding at neutral pH. Association of water-soluble N- hetero carbene (NHCs) metal complexes with QCs provides a stable platform for the CO2) capture and its reduction. Integrating the microalgae cultivation with QCs/NHCs in a CO2 bubbling 100 L fixed-bed photobioreactor encourages the concentration of CO2) in the local environment with simultaneous utilization as a novel CCU technology. The potentially recovered microalgae biomass processes for the production of valuable lipids and carotenoids for relevant applications.

Objectives of the Project: The study in the project consists of objectives and tasks in the lines of above specified issues related to nanomaterials synthesis, characterization and their application on microalgae cultivation system for enhanced CO2 uptake and utilization in the form of bioproducts. Some part of the study will also be carried out at Department of Chemistry, BHU, Varanasi.

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemical Engineering/ or any relevant field with the qualified certificate of GATE (in BT/LS)/CSIR UGC NET/DBT- BET category-II examination.

Desirable Experience: Research experience in related area along with relevant Publication

Additional Requirements:

The following additional requirements will be advantageous:

Strong academic skills in publication of research papers in International Journals and/or previous experience in industry/laboratory on Algal cultivation, CO2 sequestration and Nanobiotechnology.

Fellowship: 37,000.00 + HRA per month (as per institute norms)
