I am going to write this today to tell you about my success journey. I have been at the peak of my game, as well as at the bottom of it. I'll start by telling you that, "Success is not the path of least resistance, but it is the path that needs persistence". I have done the right things, as well as the wrong things. I have starved myself to be able to "invest" one more dollar. I have built a business that paid me $5,000/month. I have been homeless. You name it, I've been in that situation. However, I am stuck on my path because I BELIEVE that what's possible IS possible for me.

There are people who are called, "Dream Stealers"; your family, friends, neighbors, or even people who DON'T know you. They don't think you are incapable of being successful and they simply believe that you can't do it because of their OWN lack of success. Once you recognize this, you WILL do what you have to do as fast as you can so you can do what you want to do as long as you can.

Basically you will get what you want as long as you don't quit. One of my millionaire mentors told me on Saturday that, "It's ok if you get derailed for a short period of time, as long as you don't stay derailed and get back on the tracks you will be ok". Now, this moved me because I find it to be an extremely true statement. In order to get what you want, you have to do something until you get it; NOT try something out to see if it will work, but to actually DO something UNTIL it works.

Something that works for me, as someone once asked me, is "How long are you willing to do this until you get the results you want?"

My answer: I will UNTIL I get the results.

A good friend and I were talking about insanity and faith. This is kind of what we talked about.

Now, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. However, you HAVE to be a little insane in order to get what you want. Like Jeff Olson says, "Master the Mundane".

You have to also realize that there is a fine line between insanity and faith. I BELIEVE that by doing this activity, my life will change; I get better as I do it more. It's like basketball; every NBA player is "Insane" by definition because they played the game for YEARS expecting what? To get better. If they weren't a little insane and had enormous "faith", they wouldn't be where they are today.

I'll use another example: If you work your job and expect to move your way up the ladder and one day own the business, you are INSANE. Name someone who has done that.....

BUT if you start your own business, whether it be traditional, network marketing, or any other kind of business, and you BELIEVE and have FAITH that you can do it since THOUSANDS of people have done it before you, that my friends is not insanity, but faith. If they can do it, YOU can do it. Where as in your job, you can't name 5 people who have started at the bottom and worked their way to the top and now have their name on the building. However, you can probably name dozens of people who have started their own business and now live the lives they choose to live. BELIEVE that you can and you will. Don't believe it? You might as well not try.

How to keep you family from hating you!!

This is actually a funny post in my opinion but you wouldn't believe the amount of people who work from home but still are disconnected with their family. I'm sure you DON'T want that, that's why you are reading this! There are a number of things that you can do and a number of things you should NOT do. I think we'll start with the do's.

First this is to spend time making sure your family knows your intentions. You can't leave them in the dark about things so be open and make sure they know you are doing what you are doing to better their lives as well as yours! Another thing you should do is make a schedule. I know it may sound silly but of you set appointments and keep them people respect you more. So set times to spend with your family as well as times where you are "off limits" because you have work to do, but remember that the time you spend with your family, you spend with your family and not thinking "I should be in the office". BUT also remember that the time you spend in the office, you spend in the Office NOT hinking "I should be with my family". The best thing I can say is to stay focused on the moment. Don't wander with your mind. This will allow you to enjoy family time while you also get things done. If you mix the two you usually get NOTHING done.

One thing I would recommend NOT doing is ignoring your family. They need time with you as much as you need time with them. Use that time as recreation! Look at that word "recreate". What does it mean to you? To begin fresh, rejuvenated? If you do nothing but work you will burn yourself out faster than you think.

So the bottom line is take the time to recuperate and spend time with your family. There is nothing worse than losing the ones you love because you work too much. If you work from home take this advice. Try it before you deny it.

To Your Success,
What to do?

What does it take to brand yourself?
What is Branding?
How do I brand myself?
Why is branding important?

http://successwithcorey.com/
These are all questions I have asked myself NUMEROUS times. They are also questions that I am STILL finding the answers to.
The AMA (American Marketing Association defines "branding" as "a name, term, sign, symbol, design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of other sellers." For reference go to http://marketing.about.com/cs/brandmktg/a/whatisbranding.htm

When I first read this I thought "WOW, what a mouthful" but as I began to understand it, this became one of the best definitions for branding I could find. Allow me to simplify it. Branding yourself simply means giving yourself a "name" that others will recognize such as Pepsi, Coke, Pizza Hut. All of which are Brands.

So how do we "brand" ourselves? The best answer I have is what I am doing right now. Giving people VALUE for free. Once you give them value they begin to know you, like you, and kind of trust you. As they continue to come to you for answers they will bring more people to you which will essentially "brand" your name, products, and services. You can give FREE info to people in forms of books, knowledge, or anything of value to the other person that they can use to benefit from.
First you must understand what your customer wants or needs. You can't sell ice to an Eskimo but you can sell him a heater.
Once you identify what they want you show them that you have value to give to them for free so they will trust you when you show them you have what they want. You can't just SELL SELL SELL. You have to build a rapport. To find out how you can go here for reference.
Build a Rapport

Once you have a friendship you can then show them you have what they want. But let them sell themselves! This is the most important thing I can think of. When you chase someone they RUN AWAY. But when you let them look for themselves they buy!

Branding is SOO important only if you want to have profit in ANY business you are in. If you don't want to make a significant income then you don't have to worry about branding. BUT if you want more then you have to become more. People have to know, like, and trust you. So start a business NOT by making a fancy site, or by buying A TON of products. Start it by being valuable to the marketplace. Having something that others want. EVEN if it is just your knowledge. After you do that word of mouth advertising is how you get MORE customers and it will spread like wildfire!

Before I start on this topic I just want to say this is an opinionated post. These things I have done and they work well for me. You may or may not disagree with me but thats okay.

Now when you are giving someone advice the NUMBER ONE thing you need to do is.... Listen.
Steven Covey says it in his book
When you do this it opens up a bond to the other person that will make them listen to you when it is your turn. They feel that since you listen to them they will listen to you.

You also need to relate to a person when giving them advice. If you don't relate they won't see you fit to actually tell them what would be best. You need to be able to understand where they are coming from so you can take them where you want them to go. You give them the advice when they are ready to hear it. When they tell you everything and are more receptive to listen to you.

You may ask "how do I know when they are ready"

My answer, you just know. There is something about talking to hundreds of people that you pick up over time. Give them the best answer. It may not always be what they want to hear but its better that way.

When you do give someone advice they may or may not take it. But that is life. If they don't listen to you this time they probably won't listen to you next time unless something drastic has happened. Don't worry they will come around eventually.

Know that giving advice is very rewarding when someone actually listens to you and it worked. The feeling you get from helping someone change their life or, even more simply, help them choose a new outfit, is incredible. The reward is much greater than the pain in most cases. Just do what you can listen then relate to the person, and the rest should be, as they say, HISTORY.

http://successwithcorey.com/
Alright, I chose to write about this due to the fact that I have had a lot of people come to me and ask for advice only to tell me what I say wont work, BEFORE they even try it.

Now I get the impression that most of the time they just want to complain but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. When you ask for advice, TAKE MY ADVICE, when I say listen to the person with an open mind. What they say MAY help you. Ill give you an example that I get a lot from many people. If you ask someone about relationships and they tell you something that you HAVEN'T tried before, try it, THEN if it doesn't work then you can deny it. But if you keep doing the same thing you have always done you will always get what you've always got. You cant expect to get different results from doing the same thing OVER and OVER again.

Listening to people's opinions can really expand your mind to more possibilities. If you really do want change then try to listen to someone. But if you just want to complain maybe you shouldn't waste peoples' time.

I may be writing this with a bit of aggravation but I hope I get the message across. My friend Linda said that most people she's dealt with have had a "front" when asking for advice just to make it seem like they truly wanted change but they did absolutely NOTHING. I find this to be the case in a lot of people who truly need to change they just don't. Who am I to say anything tho. If you don't want to change then don't. But also if you want to complain, don't come to me unless you really want to change.

The whole purpose of this is to help you better take advice so you don't
1) Aggravate the person you are asking for advice.
2) Come off as if you are putting on a "front"
3) Fail at getting the desired results.

When you ask someone for advice, if they are good at giving advice they will "seek to understand, then seek to be understood". Once you finish they will relate with you somehow. When they do that it opens the door and you should be more receptive to listen. What YOU should do is actually listen and take into consideration everything they are saying. I'm not saying drop everything and change everything you are doing. I'm just saying listen with an open mind because they may tell you something that could possibly change the outcome for the better.

This post really can't be any more simple than that, but your reason why you are asking advice needs to be strong enough so you will actually WANT to listen to the advice given. If its not then you wont do anything and you will just continue living the life you have lived.

Before I start. Let me tell you DO NOT READ THIS if this is a touchy subject. A lot of the things I will say are opinionated and are from my own experiences. OK now that I got that off my chest. Let us begin. Relationships will ALWAYS be one of the most difficult things we do because we are people, the most complicated beings on the planet. You must first come to understand that and from there you will succeed.

Anyway, what I will talk about is the basics of relationships. Simple what to do and what not to do. How to react and how to NOT freak out.

Now I wrote in previous blogs the HOW TO meet people. Which is very simple. Now this is what we do AFTER we are together. When you are talking to your bf/gf, I've seen people freak out over the simplest things, listen to them with an open mind. If they say something you don't like don't get mad or upset because THEY said it. You cant control what they say. it just makes no sense. IF you guys ever fight don't let what they say get to you. From my experience when people are angry they tend to say a lot of things that they truly don't mean and it just comes out. Communication is KEY!!! Remember that. A lot of things can be solved by TALKING to your partner. Simple as that. There still will be instances when people will have those days when they let EVERYTHING affect them. But just know you have a lot more power to control circumstances than you may think.

When your bf/gf does something that you don't like, it would be best not to react in a hostile manner. Think about your actions before you do them. I know you've heard that before so TRY IT. One thing that I found to help me is to NOT freak out when other guys or girls check your partner out. I mean they are attractive, thats why you are with them and not the other person. I've seen people end year long relationships because they get jealous over SOMEONE ELSE looking at their partner.

Insecurities always happen. An example is being afraid of losing your partner for someone else. Think about what you want RATHER than what you don't want. It ALWAYS WORKS. And if it doesn't work it's because you are focusing on the wrong thing. You and your partner are together for a reason so why worry about losing them. YOU HAVE THEM. Thats like having a cat and holding it soooo close because you are afraid of losing it and you drive it away because it doesn't like ALL the attention.

The SAME thing happens in relationships. All you have to do is keep being the person that your partner started to like and everything will work. Now I'm not saying don't grow. Growing is very important. But just be YOU and don't change for the other person because that always turns out bad. Im going to end it on this. If you are meant to be things will work out not by fate but by design. YOU design your future and your life. SO its UP TO YOU!!!
Im just going to write this quick blog to explain what is going to be in the next blog. Now I have been asked and even told to write about relationships, and I wasnt too sure I wanted to do it. But I came to the conclusion that I have to give the reader what they want. So my next blog will be about the beginning stages of relationships. Now this is just my opinion, you can agree or disagree but the things I will talk about are things that have worked with me. In the blog I will share ideas of how to get that special girl or guy and how to keep them.

A lot of the beginning stages I have already discussed in previous blogs so feel free to read back a little so you can see much more detail. Now these are MY ideas. Im not saying you HAVE to go do everything I say, but I am saying if you try it it just may work. So keep that in mind. Ill briefly say that in order to be happy both parites have to be happy. Now if you always fight and bicker then find a common ground. Learn what they like and learn what they dislike. Dont push buttons and be there for them when they need you. Arguments are going to happen but that doesnt mean if will ruin the relationship.

Do what you can to be happy because if YOU are happy, Im willing to bet that the other person is happy. But that is enough for now. I will write the blog within the next few days. Until then stay focused on your goals.
Something my friend said sparked me to write this. Some people Dwell in the past, while some ponder the future, but who really lives there life for the now? Don't get me wrong dreaming about the future is a great thing and it needs to be done but don't focus all of your energy on the past or the future.

For example: If you ever have known someone to go to rehab they don't say focus on being sober for a year, or a month, or even a week. They tell you to focus on being sober TODAY, right now. Not tomorrow.

Babatunde Olatunji said "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present." A good friend of mine once said,"Yesterday is history tomorrow does NOT have to be a mystery if we treat today like the gift it is. That my friends is why we call it the present." The point being why focus on yesterday when its over with. I've come to accept my past because I realize it made me who I am today. Some things may be bad some may be good but without those events I wouldn't have lived the life I did. What happened happened and you cant go back so why focus on something you can't change? Today is the only thing you can change which will directly affect your future. They always say "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". All you have to do is eat an apple TODAY to ensure that in the future you will be healthy. Maintain eating an apple everyday and your future will be bright and healthy. Today is what truly matters to us so lets take hold of our today so our future is what we want it to be.

Im not saying don't make goals and plan your future, That is a necessity. Dreaming is a necessity. Just spend more time on your today then you do your tomorrow. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "What lies behind us and what lies before us is nothing compared to what lies within us." I think this is relevant because the past is gone, the future isn't here, and our present is what truly matters.

I hope I got the point across that TODAY is truly where we need to live. One today equals two tomorrows. Remember that and treat everyday like its your last and you will live a fulfilled life. If you live everyday to its fullest I can guarantee your future will give you what you want.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
- The Buddha

I've had some experiences with people where they focus on EVERYTHING they don't like about a person. I find this to be a tad bit WRONG. In my eyes you should focus on the things you like most about a person. Also people may say "I can't find anything I like about that person." SO WHY GIVE THAT YOUR ENERGY. Its pointless to focus on something that is just going to make you mad.

You can use this for everything even: your job, friends, family, relationships, your car, or anything really. People always complain about the house they live in, the car they drive, the job they have, when really they need to have an attitude of gratitude for what they have. Same with people. Be thankful you have someone in your life that truly cares about you. With your car be thankful that it gets you back and forth to work. With your house be thankful you have a roof over your head. I don't care what the circumstances are. If you change your attitude to a positive mindset you will start to appreciate things for what they are a lot more.

For me this is something that is ALL OVER the place. People don't usually have a positive mindset about much let alone people but when you do believe me from my experience you will find friends easier, relationships easier, and you will even have a better life. Try it and if it doesn't work you aren't doing it properly. Bottom line is change the way you view things from "ugh I hate when he/she does this" to "You know what? when he/she does this it makes me feel wonderful." or "I hate my car, it's so old and rusty" to "I love the fact I can drive to work in MY vehicle everyday" or "my house is too small" to "I enjoy living in MY HOME, rather than some apartment or box on the street".

Believe me when I say this an attitude of gratitude for ANYTHING will make you a better person all around. You will be happier with people, your possessions, and your life. TRY IT, DO IT, and you WILL SUCCEED!!!

Alright. Do you all remember when we were kids and we always had dreams of being firemen, policemen, doctors, professional athletes, and teachers? What made you stop following your dreams? If you want something go after it until you get it. I personally had a dream to play college basketball and am currently training to do just that. When we, as adults, dream, we don't take what we think about to heart because we don't think it's possible but I'm here to tell you ANYTHING is possible. Follow your dreams.

I've seen parents who tell their kids to follow there dreams but how do they expect the kids to follow their dreams if the parents don't follow their dreams? They are kind of setting a bad example don't you think? Like Jim Rohn always says, "Take care of yourself first and people will follow." What better way to have your children follow their dreams if you pave the path by showing them how to do it. Monkey see monkey do. If they don't see they won't do. So bottom line is you have to follow your dreams, work hard and dream BIG. You see it in your mind, believe that it can be accomplished, take action towards your dream, and achieve it.

If you do this I guarantee you won't have a better feeling than you do in this instance. To achieve something that you've always wanted is an incredible feeling. I can't describe it but I can tell you YOU can do it. Test it, I dare you. Dream something into existence. Set your mind to it and get it. When you do this let people know that you accomplished your goal. When you do this encourage others to do what you did and you will live better knowing you had a hand in making someones life better.

What better way to live your life than living it like its a big dream?

Writing my previous post made me ponder what to write next, and I've had a few people talk to me who have given me some great ideas. I thought to myself what better to write about following my last post than "why to NOT care about what people think".

I know from my own experiences that when you care about what other people think you are not yourself. Once you break free of that "trend" you will start to be yourself and people will actually like you for WHO you are rather than for WHAT you do. The thing that made me come to this conclusion is actually a very blunt realization. I saw an article written in a paper once that said when you die the number of people that go to your funeral depends on the weather. Now this got me to start thinking. I dug deeper and the numbers are 50% of the people you know, typically, go to your funeral. Of those that do go there are a few that cry. Of those that go to the funeral, if its raining 75% of those people do not go to the burial. SOOOO. I was thinking "If people who I know don't care about me enough to go to my funeral depending on the RAIN, then why should I care, throughout my life, what other people think of me?"

I use this as an example in saying, YOU only live once, so live life to the fullest. I can guarantee there will be people that don't like you, but remember this, the more people who hate you means there will be more people who will love you. EVERYONE has people who think bad about them. Look at Mother Teresa, she is loved by millions but I guarantee there were thousands or more who hated her and she was a SAINT. But do you think she could have done all the great things she did if she cared about what people thought about her? I don't think so. I can go on and on with people who have many haters but many more people who love them. For example; Michael Jordan, Gandhi, JESUS, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, etc. I can guarantee ALL of these people and more DO NOT care about what people think. That is one key factor that made them the great leaders that you know them as today.

Just know to BE YOU and you can't go wrong. Don't try to change who YOU are for someone to make them like you better because YOU won't be happy and eventually the person whom you are trying to "please" will find out and be done with you. SO. be you, Ill be me, and let them be them, love em hate em. Its your life live it how YOU WANT TO LIVE IT, not like how everyone else wants you to live it.

1. Stop being your own worst enemy. Be your own best friend

2. Don't put yourself down. Pull yourself up.

3. Don't permit others to define who you are. You cannot be a failure without your own consent..

http://successwithcorey.com/
Which one are YOU?

http://successwithcorey.com/
This is a bit touchy subject for some people and before I continue with anything let me tell you that if I offend you by what I say from my experiences, let me be the first to tell you that you will get over it.

Anyways... I will tell you a story about what happened to me very briefly before I continue. One day I was in the store and I ran across one of my old high school classmates whom I didn't get along with very well. Well I asked him how he's been over the years and he feels the need to try to aggravate me like he used to in high school. Now I'm not gonna lie, I used to let it get to me but from the things I've learned have taught me how to properly handle situations such as these. Our conversation continued and it was QUITE annoying but I kept cool because I've learned that your emotions control your actions so if I let him control my emotions he would be able to control my actions.

For example. If you want someone to fight you you would typically talk about their mom or bash them so they hit you first. In doing that you are ensuring that you control that they swing first.

Anyway, I asked myself am I gonna let him control my emotions which in turn would control me? I wasn't going to let this happen so I told myself, "Lets have a little fun". Now in doing this I killed the situation with kindness which I knew would get under his skin and bother him which would in turn control his emotions which would in turn control him. Make sense? Our conversation went on and its like the odds flipped. HE was the one who was getting highly upset and he is the one who was being "Controlled" and it was due to me consciously knowing what I was doing. He ended up leaving and his day was probably ruined while I just left and continued to be my happy self.

Now I didn't intentionally make him mad, but I intentionally kept him from making me mad which made him mad. My point in saying this is I controlled my emotions rather than letting him control them for me because if you don't control your emotions someone else will which means someone else will control your actions, and I'm pretty sure you don't want that. Once you are conscious about this fact you will find it funny when you realize someone is trying to mess with your emotions and know that YOU can run ANY situation with your new ability to control emotions.

Just know that if you want to be happy you can be happy by thinking about something that made you happier than you have ever been. If you are at the point of anger just flip that switch and its as easy as that. I challenge you to try it one day. If you talk to someone who is trying to get you angry know that you can control the situation by NOT getting angry. You'll enjoy what happens.
Comment and let me know what you think.
Alright, I thought a good follow up post would be to talk about building a rapport. I'll start by defining what it means. I got the definition from Wikipedia.com. Rapport is one of the most important features or characteristics of unconscious human interaction. It is commonality of perspective: being "in sync" with, or being "on the same wavelength" as the person with whom you are talking.

You can use this information for anyone you meet whether it be for a new cute boy or girl, or if its a new business partner whom you want to get to know better. So do not limit yourself to using this strictly for business or strictly for relationships. Use it for EVERYTHING. Now that we have that out of the way we can go into how to build a rapport with the person whom you just met. When you meet this new person and you start with a conversation, you may have to suck it up and NOT talk about yourself. If you want someone to like you the best way to do it is to talk about them. Find out where they work, what they do for fun, find out about their family and friends, and find out what motivates them. The more you talk about someone the more they will like you because people LOVE talking about themselves. If you don't believe me, try it sometime. I think you will be amazed with the results. Just when you are talking to someone don't treat it like an investigation. Be yourself and have fun and you can't lose.

You can see why this works because when you talk to someone and they talk about themselves because you are asking them questions. People enjoy talking to others about them and if you are actually genuinely interested they will like you even more. When they talk about their family and friends, interact with them. When they talk about their likes and dislikes find things you can relate to because if you have a lot of "me too's" the person will like you even more and build that "rapport" on an unconscious level. What I mean with the me too's is the more you relate to a person and show them that you relate to them the more they will like you because they see themselves in you. And if they don't like you after all of this then they don't like themselves because you should have talked about them, talked about their family, talked about how you relate to them, and talked about their likes and dislikes. So you do all those things and you will not lose. Try it sometime..... You will be able to talk to people whom you have not been able to talk to and BE YOURSELF. You will like what you see.

OK I thought long and hard about what to write first. You all know what its like to have writers block. I decided to start with "how to meet new people". Now I always hear people who say there is a proper technique. I have yet to find it. But what I do, which works wonderfully, is I compliment someone whom I may want to talk to for business or personal reasons. I don't just go complimenting ANYONE. I look at it this way, its my life and I can have who I want in it so I talk to who I want. Meaning I'm not going to talk to EVERYONE, just people whom I may see to fit what I want in my life.

How I determine that is I look at people's faces and if they are bubbly and happy most of the time than YES I want them in my life. But if someone is blank faced and down, I probably don't want to be the target for their negativity so I avoid them. People do have their bad days so don't judge everyone by this. Anyhow..... I'll use someone whom I met in Walmart one day. They are always happy at 2 am and I asked them, "Why are you always so happy?" They told me, "Everyday above ground is a great day!" I was amazed by the attitude of this older gentleman. I gave him some information and he joined my business. Now he is 74 years old so he could have been all down and negative but he was more jovial than most of the young workers. He truly looked like he lived his life to the fullest.

Now if you want to approach a cute girl or guy first of all DON'T BE SHY. You can start by talking to them as if they were a normal person, which they are, and compliment them. Say you like something about them. Something you truly like about them such as their hair, the clothes they wear, or something else you may like. If things work out well you will know. If they don't then take it from me when I say it probably wont work so you should just move on.

This is just the beginning stages when you first meet someone. You can continue this and things will be wonderful. You will meet greater and greater people the more you do this. That is one thing I find amazing. I've met some pretty amazing people ranging from billionaires all the way to people who know more information than anyone I have ever met. Now if there is anything I missed that you would like to see me comment on please leave a comment and I will definitely try to shed my light on the topic.
