Easy Teacher Gifts with PSA Essentials #PSAEssentials

This is my last “official” PSA Essentials post. I’m sure you’ll see their stamps in future post at GSC because their stamps are truly ah-mazing & so fun to use! I’ve been working with their Design Team for the past year, and it has been a challenging & learning experience for me. I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to Libby, the other members of the Design Team & everyone at PSA Essentials. Thank you! Now to the post….

I can’t believe the school year is wrapping up! My kiddos are counting down the days until summer break! Yay! They can’t wait, and neither can I! :) Before school is out we always give our teachers a little thank you gift for all the hard work & dedication they have put in to making the school year a success.

This year my kiddos are giving their teachers these cute candy bar boxes to thank them for a “sweet” year! ;) We made our candy bars a little cuter with the help of PSA Essentials Peel & Stick stamps, cardstock, scrapbook paper, washi tape & twine.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out these cute candy bar boxes. Then I used this Super Star Peel & Stick stamp set, black ink & a stamp body to make some cute Teacher Approved labels to put on the top of our boxes. You can see a tutorial on how to use the peel & stick stamps here.

I think they turned out sooooo cute! They were so easy to put together, and they cost under a dollar each to make. Now that is sweet! ha! ;)

I also made some cute bravo treat cups for my kiddos as a fun end of the school year snack. I used the same Super Star Peel & Stick stamp set to make these. I used the red ink instead of black. PSA Essentials makes tons of different color inks! So fun!

I found the treat cups at Walmart in the dollar section, and I made the tags & border around the cup with a craft punch & cardstock. Super easy!

Annnnd finally here is an apple for the teacher! This would make a great table decoration at a teacher appreciation luncheon or as a gift for your teacher to just sit on their desk. (I also cut out this 3-D apple shape with my Silhouette Cameo & then assembled it.)

I made the tag with a Thank You from a PSA Essentials peel & stick stamp set.

20+ Totally Random Things I’ve Learned at Blogging Conferences & a Swag Bag Giveaway #snapconf #sofabcon

Well, I’ve been home from Snap ~ Creativity at your Fingertips for almost a month! Then two weeks ago I attended a just as amazing blog conference put on by the amazing Collective Bias team ~ SoFabCon. I’m running out of time to get everything posted. So I decided to break some blogging etiquette & blog about both conferences in one post!

I know you’ve probably read a gazillion recap post so far, so I thought I’d do mine a little differently ~ plus there’s a blog conference swag giveaway! Yay! First I’m going to share 20+ totally random (& some not even blog related) things that I’ve learned at both of these ah-mazing blogging conferences. Here we go! ;)

1. I learned that sisters are the best! (OK….I knew that one already!) For those of you that go to blogging conference alone all I can say is WOW! You are brave! I know everyone is super nice & easy to talk to buuuuuut it was so much more awesome to have my sister to hang out with at Snap! Thank you for going with me, Megan! You are beautiful inside & out! Love you, sister! :)

2. I learned that blog friends are even better in real life! It was so excited to meet some of my long time blog friends face to face! The first one of my list was Sky from Capital B. She is ah-mazing! It made me a little less nervous about going to Snap knowing that she would be there! Plus we ended up being “neighbors” at the hotel! Now that was fate! ha! :) I love you, Sky and you were one of the highlights of Snap for me!

I also got to meet Crystal from A Pumpkin & A Princess! Crystal is always there when I have a late night question, blogging crisis or need advice! :)

Then at SoFabCon I got to hang out with Rachel from Bubbly Nature Creations (on the left), Vanessa from The Rookie Seamstress (in the middle). I also got to see Brandi from The Creative Princess and Kristy from Mommy Hates Cooking. (I didn’t get a picture of them though!) :(

3. Being in Salt Lake City, Utah (where Snap is held) is kind of a Mormon girl’s dream come true! I was able to spend two evenings & a morning at Temple Square. I already knew this, but I really do love to see the temple! (This is the temple my parents were married in!)

4. I learned that it kind of looks awkward to try & recreate your wedding proposal without your hubby there! ha! This is the exact spot my hubby-to-be proposed to me almost 20 years ago! Wow! I’m old…haha! (It’s right beside The Tabernacle on Temple Square….it had started snowing that day so we had moved underneath the overhang of The Tabernacle & he got down on on knee & popped the question!)

5. I learned that tulips are still my favorite flower. Annnd seeing a gazillion billion tulips in one place was just amazingly beautiful! (It was Tulip Festival time at Thanksgiving Point in Utah.)

6. Now are you sitting down for this random fact? This is HUGE! Scotch is coming out with washi tape! It should be coming to a store (or already be in stock in a store) near you soon! Yes, get excited! That’s awesome! :)

7. There were dances at both Snap & Sofabcon, and I learned that I just don’t dance anymore (but apparently my sister does)! ha! ;)

8. I learned that next time I’m traveling on an airplane I will be bringing a box of band-aids with me (blisters!) & an extra pair of shoes in my carry-on! My flip flip broke at the Salt Lake City airport just after I had checked in my bags to go home! Ugh! Yep, I was barefoot for an entire day! Ummmmm ….not really a style I’m comfortable with! ha! My kiddos would of loved it though! They love being barefoot! ;)

9. I learned that being in an airplane is so cool! (Can you tell I don’t fly much? ha!) Buuuut really seeing the earth from above is just amazing! Look at those beautiful mountains! :)

10. I learned that power tools will be on my birthday & Christmas list this year. We were able to listen to THE Ana White at Snap talk about all the cool power tools out there. It was awesome!

11. I learned that public transportation is the way to go! I think they should have trains everywhere! We were able to hop on a train at the Lehi Station (right where Snap was) and go all the way to downtown Salt Lake City. Now that is the way to travel…no traffic, you don’t have to worry about parking….just sit back & relax! I could get used to that! :)

12. I was able to learn from some bloggers that I really look up to. It was so nice to see & hear them in person. I learned so much! The classes were amazing. The classes at #Sofabcon were some of my favorites! They were so in-depth, & I learned a ton! My friend, Rachel from Bubbly Nature Creations taught a photography class at SoFabCon. She did so awesome!

13. In Sky from Capital B’s Snap recap post she said that she is not one to take wild & crazy pictures! Well….I learned that is not true! haha! ;) Check out this wild & crazy pictures of Sky at the Snap Pajama Party! Of course, she is being attacked but it still is a pretty crazy picture! ;)

14. I learned that swag (all that awesome stuff they give you) is heavy! When I was checking in my luggage to go home my suitcase was overweight! Eek! So I ended up taking out as much as I could possibly carry….let me just tell you this bag was loaded & heavy!

15. This is for my friend, Tonia from The Gunny Sack (who is from Minnesota). :) I learned that she wasn’t kidding when she commented a couple of weeks ago on this post that she wished it was warm enough to work in the yard. It is really is cold in Minnesota! I had a layover in Minneapolis, and there was still ice on the lakes in April! Brrrrr! I hope it’s warmer there now. :)

16. I learned that you can buy BYU stuff at Walmart in Utah!!! I couldn’t resist myself, and stocked up with gifts for the kiddos! (This could of contributed to my overweight bag problem I had earlier. ha!)

17. I learned that my hair is super straight in Utah! It was awesome! Bye, bye frizz! :)

18. I learned (ok….I already knew this one, too!) I do not know how to take a good self portrait! Who in the world am I looking at? ha! Obviously not the camera! ;)

19. I learned that I really needed a new profile picture! Thanks, Megan!

20. I learned that it is cold at blog conferences! It was cold in Utah, & then for SoFabCon we woke up to snow that morning! Craziness!

21. I learned that I love personalized jewelry! OK, I already knew that one, too! I’ve been a fan of The Vintage Pearl & Lisa Leonard (who was at Snap!) for a long time, and now I have a new favorite The R House Couture. Everyone attending Snap got a Create Joy necklace from them. Thank you! (Create Joy was the theme of Snap.)

22. I learned that home is the best place to be! I loved being at the conference & hanging with my sister, friends & all the amazing brands & bloggers, but I have never been so happy to see this guy at the airport! Yes, he remembered to pick me up! haha! :)

Annnnd these crazy guys….oh how I missed them! My life was way too quiet & boring without them! I love being their mom….it’s the best job in the world! :)

Oh ya….Momma was home! Wahoo! :)

Easy Stenciling Technique {tutorial} #ad #DecoArt

Today I’d love to show you this easy stenciling technique tutorial that is by far my favorite way to stencil. All you need is a few products from DecoArt, some vinyl lettering & a wood surface. Keep reading, & I’ll show you how I did it.

Just look at how clear & crisp those letters are! Annnnd it’s all paint!!!

For this project you’ll need:

vinyl lettering (I got this Be the Good vinyl quote from Create It. Go!)
wood plaque
Americana Paint from DecoArt
Americana Decoupage from DecoArt
foam brushes

Don’t mind the red paint, I switched out to white for this project. ;) I wanted the quote to be two different colors. So this is how I did it. Kind of crazy. ha! Buuuut it worked! ;) First I cut the quote into two pieces.

Then I traced a line between where each piece of vinyl would go to show where I should paint each color.

Then I painted my board the two different colors using the Americana Paint. After the paint had dried, I applied my vinyl lettering.

Then I got some Americana Decoupage & a foam brush.

I painted over my vinyl lettering with the Decoupage. Now this is the secret that makes this stenciling technique soooo awesome! After the Decoupage dries it seals the edges of the vinyl lettering & prevents the paint (that we will paint on top in just a bit) from seeping underneath!

Once the Decoupage is dry, you’ll paint over the vinyl lettering. The trick to this is to paint several THIN coats. You don’t want your paint to go on thick. Make sure you do thin coats even if it takes a few more coats than normal to get the full coverage! I promise it will be worth it. :)

After the paint is dried you’ll carefully lift off your vinyl lettering. I usually just use a stick pin to carefully grab the edge of the vinyl lettering. That makes it pretty easy to get off.

Look at how crisp & clean those edges are! Wow! :)

This is definitely my go to stenciling technique, and I LOVE the results that I can get with it!

DIY Herb Garden {tutorial} #digin #ad

Last week I told you about our DIY Herb Garden that we are making as a family! I’m excited to say that we had wonderful weather this past week, & we were able to finish staining our herb garden. Then yesterday we were able to get all of our herbs planted! Yay! Today I’m excited to share how we made our DIY Herb Garden, so that YOU can make one, too! :)

The first thing you’ll need to do is gather the supplies. We were able to find everything we needed to build our DIY Herb Garden ~ the building supplies, the herbs, the watering can, liquid fertilizer and potting soil ~ all at The Home Depot. Yay! The Home Depot offers YOU the most innovative home improvement products available which make DIY projects like this even easier than ever before. Plus The Home Depot workers were so helpful, and they helped us find everything we needed. :)

Supply List:

(7) 8 foot cedar boards
1 box Composite Deck Screws II – brown (comes with a drill bit)
Miter Saw
Drill
1/2 inch Drill Bit
sandpaper & hand sander
potting soil
liquid fertilizer
herbs

Now that we have our supplies ~ are YOU ready for the DIY Herb Garden tutorial? OK here we go! :)

First you’ll cut your 8 foot cedar boards into the following lengths:

(10) 27 inch long boards ~ back & bottom of troughs
(5) 30 inch long boards ~ front of troughs
(10) 4 3/4 inch long boards ~ sides of troughs
(2) 5 foot 6 inch long boards ~ sides of herb garden

*Remember safety first! Always wear ear & eye protection when working with power tools & saws! Annnnd be careful!

After your wood is cut, you’ll assemble each box like this with the wood screws & a drill:

The longer board will hang over on each side. That’s what you want. :) After all of your troughs are finished you can drill some drain holes in the bottom of each trough with 1/2 inch drill bit.

Our finished troughs! We actually have 5 troughs total. One for each kiddo! :) Then I sanded our troughs with some sandpaper.

To see how it was going to work we leaned the two 5 foot 6 inch boards against the side of the house. We sat one trough on the ground to get an idea of where & what angle we would need to attach them.

FYI: Before we sat our boards up we had cut a slight 17 1/2 degree angle with our miter saw on the very bottom of the long boards so that the boards would sit smooth against the ground.

Next we spaced our troughs evenly along one of the long boards making sure they were all angled correctly. You can use a pencil to kind of mark where each trough is in case it moves a little before you can get them screwed down.

Then we screwed each trough to the long board with the wood screws & a drill. Once they were all secured we flipped it over & screwed the other side down.

Boom! It was done! Wahoo! This project took about 2 or 3 hours to complete. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon. ;)

Later I also made some super cute & simple herb garden markers! All I needed was some popsicle sticks, vinyl lettering & paint. Aren’t they cute?? ;)

Then it was time to plant our herbs. :) Remember you can go green this spring with The Home Depot. The Home Depot has the latest organic gardening tools, equipment and supplies. I love The Garden Club because I can can share our experiences and successes with other enthusiastic gardeners from around the world. We can also meet other gardeners in our community at in-store lawn and garden workshops. So fun! :)

I also love The Home Depot’s library of how-to videos and project planning tools that helps turn our ideas into reality. They always regularly update their articles to let us know about exciting trends in gardening and landscape design. We will never run out of fresh ideas thanks to The Home Depot! :)

I love mine!

I was so excited to try out the new Silhouette Chipboard! Chipboard is great for adding dimension and rigidity to a variety of projects. You can leave it undecorated to make boxes, tags, or cards with an organic look—or dress it up with some scrapbook paper or embellishments to add some fun. It's also perfect to use as a backing to add structure and stiffness to any project.

I am seriously addicted to the 3-D shapes in the Silhouette online store especially the little boxes! Oh my goodness! They are sooooo cute! I used this, this & this to make these adorable little boxes. The chipboard was perfect for these simple projects!

I used the chipboard both ways ~ plain & with scrapbook paper on top. To add the scrapbook paper I just cut the shape out twice ~ once with the chipboard & once with a piece of scrapbook paper. Then I used some spray adhesive to attach the two pieces together.

Then I assembled my boxes! So so cute & easy!

These little boxes would be perfect to hold candy or small gifts for teachers, Mother’s Day, birthdays, thank you gifts & so much more!

On Friday I gave you a sneak peek at our DIY Herb Garden that our family is making with the help of The Home Depot. We were hoping to get it all planted this weekend but it snowed! Yes, snow in May! So hopefully this week we will be able to finish up & plant our herbs. :) If all goes well, I’ll be sharing the tutorial & finished DIY Herb Garden on Friday. So stay tuned! We were able to attend The Home Depot Kids Workshop this past Saturday though! Yay! We had so much fun! So keep reading to see what we did….and there might be a little video! ;)

The Free Kids Workshop at The Home Depot are held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm for kiddos age 5-12 at all The Home Depot stores. Each month they have a different project for the kiddos to complete & take home. This is a great way to spend some time as a family, and it great time for your kids to learn some DIY skills. They even get their own The Home Depot orange apron, a commemorative pin & certificate to take home with them! Yay! Doesn’t that sound fun?

Well, when we got to The Home Depot….it was still a little bit cold! Brrrrr! Thank goodness most of the snow had already melted away! My kiddos were ready to head inside for the workshop. Can’t you tell? ha! ;)

This month’s project was a little DIY herb garden! So perfect since that’s what we are working on at home! :)

The Home Depot Kids Workshop is the perfect place for the kids to tackle a DIY project and have fun as a family at the same time. Even my big kids enjoyed it. :)

While were at The Home Depot Kids Workshop I shot this little video of my youngest working on his herb garden project. Make sure you watch to the very end. The last second is so cute! We’ve been watching it over & over again! ;)

After my kiddos finished building their herb gardens they got to paint them.

I’m glad they had those aprons on! ha! :) They really like to get into their work!

They were so proud of their finished DIY herb garden project!

They all received a certificate & a pin to take home with them! Way to go, guys! This was an awesome way to spend a Saturday morning, and we can’t wait to go back next month.

The Home Depot Project Sneak Peek {DIY Herb Garden} #DigIn

A few weeks ago I told you how excited I was to be working with The Home Depot this spring to tackle one of our outdoor garden projects, and today I’m even more excited to tell you a little bit more about our project & let you have a little sneak peek into our progress so far! Our family is is so excited to be tackling a DIY Herb Garden as a family. The Home Depot is the go to place to find everything you need to turn your home improvement project ideas into reality. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing the step by step on how we are making our own DIY Herb Garden. I’d love for you to follow along, and I would be thrilled if you made one as well. :)

The first thing I did was look for a little bit of DIY inspiration. A good starting place was The Home Depot blog, The Apron Blog. I found this great DIY space saving Herb Garden on their blog. I loved how it was vertical & didn’t take up much space. I knew I wanted ours to have similar characteristics. I love how they used those paint sticks as labels for all the herbs, too. So smart! ;) (You can also find tons of ideas on The Home Depot Garden Club Board on Pinterest.)

I also checked out The Home Depot Garden Club & found lots of good information & tips about edible & organic gardening over there. Remember The Home Depot has the largest online gardening community. It’s totally free to join! You can find tons of tips & advice to help your garden be the best it can be. You can also find to do list made specifically for your area of the country. It will help keep you on track, & it will help you stay ahead of seasonal changes for your garden. You can also get gardening advice & answers from online experts, & you can find tons of how to videos to help you out with all your gardening & DIY project needs. You will also receive great deals & money saving coupons as well. Make sure you sign up! You don’t want to miss out!

As I was researching & looking at different herb gardens I pinned all the ideas I found to My Herb Garden Idea Pinterest board. You can check that out here or by clicking the picture below.

After looking at all these fabulous ideas I kind of had an idea of what I wanted in my head. ha! I knew I wanted something vertical, & I wanted something with 5 rows or containers. I have 5 kiddos so I wanted each kid to have their own group of herbs that they are responsible for. So we headed to The Home Depot to gather some supplies for our DIY Herb Garden.

I looked at tons of containers, flower pots, window boxes & troughs looking for just what I wanted. :) The Home Depot had so many fun options to chose from. I kept coming back to some cedar window boxes (on the bottom right above), & I thought we could build a frame & attach them somehow into a vertical herb garden. My hubby was with me, and he had other ideas! ;) Since we were at The Home Depot with everything a DIYer could want why not just make our own!?!! So we grabbed some cedar boards & wood screws.

We also grabbed some stain, potting soil, liquid fertilizer & of course, herbs. :) Look at this huge selection of herbs at The Home Depot (below)! Wowzers! I think I got at least one of each kind. They smelled so good! :)

If you would like to make your own DIY Herb Garden with the help from The Home Depot you’ll need:

(7) 8 foot cedar boards
1 box Composite Deck Screws II – brown
Miter Saw
Phillips Head Screwdriver or Bit
Drill
1/2 inch Drill Bit
sandpaper
Minwax PolyShades Stain & Polyurethane in 1 Step (Love this stuff!)
potting soil
liquid fertilizer
herbs

(All of these supplies can be purchased at The Home Depot.)

Here’s a little sneak peek of our new DIY Herb Garden. I’m so excited! It turned out even better than I had envisioned! :) It’s about 5 feet tall with 5 troughs (one for each kiddo). This week we’ll be working on sanding & staining it. Then the kiddos will be ready to plant their herbs. I’ll keep you updated on our progress, and I will have a full tutorial so you can make one, too! I’m also working a a vlog to share with you! So that should be fun! :)

This weekend our family will all be attending a Free Kids Workshop at The Home Depot. These fun & informative workshops are held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am until 12 pm for kiddos age 5-12 at all The Home Depot stores. Each month they have a different project for the kiddos to complete & take home. The even get their own The Home Depot orange apron, a commemorative pin & certificate to take home with them! Yay! This month’s project is making your own herb garden. What perfect timing! ;) I’ll be sharing our experience at the Free Kids Workshop next week on the blog. My kiddos were so excited when I told them we were going! They LOVE going to The Home Depot. (I think my 3 year old is more excited about the car shopping carts though! ha!) Mother’s Day Card with Detailz #LifestyleCrafts

Along with a gift you’ll need a pretty card as well, right? :) Annnd nothing is better that a handmade card made with lots of love. Today I am excited to show you these Mother’s Day cards I made using Lifestyle Crafts new Detailz dies. They are ah-mazing! You can cut, emboss & stencil all with the same die. Wow! Keep reading to find out how. :)

Lifestyle Crafts has just released it’s new Detailz dies, & their 10 new designs are available right now at Lifestyle Crafts. (Don’t forget to use code GINGER to get 20% off your order!) Like I said you can cut, emboss & stencil with these dies! So cool! Just look at all the details! Wonder how they came up with the name?! ha! ;)

If you look at these dies you’ll notice they look a little different than other dies you’ve seen. They have way more things going on. ;) To work with these dies first you’ll need a Genius Cutting Platform.

If you use regular scrapbook paper you’ll also need a Genius Rubber Mat. When you are using letterpress paper you can cut your dies using just the Genius Cutting Platform. (You can check out my Genius Cutting Platform Tutorial to see how it works!) #imagenius

I used my Epic Six along with my Genius Cutting Platform to cut these dies. (FYI: You can use just about any name brand crank die cutting machine with your Genius Cutting Platform.)

To cut these dies using letterpress paper you’ll just lay your die on your magnetic genius platform then use Mat A on top, and then you’ll just run it through your Epic Six. As it does this it will both cut & emboss your die cut.

If you are using regular scrapbook paper you’ll have one more step. After you run it through your Epic Six you’ll leave your die in place & then replace Mat A with the Genius Rubber Mat and Mat B on top of that & then run it through the Epic Six one more time. Then you’ll have a nice die cut that is both cut & embossed.

Now if you would like to stencil your die cut as well it is super easy. Don’t remove your die cut from the die. Flip it over & using colored pencils or markers you can add some color to your die cut by tracing the lines.

Isn’t that cool?? It adds a little color & extra handmade goodness to your die cut! :)

I had so much fun whipping up these cards for Mother’s Day. I chose to use letterpress paper, & I didn’t add any color to my die cuts. I liked the crisp white against the colored backgrounds. I can’t wait to try out more projects with my Detailz dies!

#IHeartMyNailArt Party! Party! Party! {Tween Sally Hansen Fingernail Polish Party} #CBias

We were recently asked to host a HUGE #IHeartMyNailArt Girls Night featuring Sally Hansen fingernail polish & featuring the fun Color Blocking fingernail painting technique! Hang tight I’ll be sharing a Color Blocking tutorial in just a bit. ;) Since I have a tween daughter we decided to turn it into a fun Tween Fingernail Polish Party, & boy was it a HIT! It was so much fun….so keep reading for all the fun details. :)

Before you can have a par-tay you’ve got to run to the store to grab some supplies, right? So I headed to Walgreens with my daughter to pick up everything we needed for our HUGE party! You can check out our entire shopping trip over on google+. I love that Walgreens has the Balance Rewards card program. I saved almost $30 bucks…cha-ching! That’s awesome! :)

The next day while my daughter was in school I got ready for our party! I had found this cute cupcake stand for a $1 at a party store, & it worked perfect for holding all of our Sally Hansen fingernail polish. I also worked on the goody boxes for our guest.

Inside each box was a color blocking kit for each of our guest to take home! It included two nail polishes, some washi tape, chevron fingernail vinyl I cut with my Silhouette & some chocolate just for fun. :)

If you’ve never heard of color blocking your nails don’t worry! I’ve got a quick tutorial on two ways your can color block your nails! It is so much fun! Basically color blocking is using two or more colors of fingernail polish on your nails in a geometric pattern.

Chevron Nails with Vinyl:
1. Paint your nails. Let them dry for at least 20 minutes. (You don’t want the vinyl to pull off your nail polish!)
2. Then apply the chevron vinyl to your nails. I had to trim it down. My nails aren’t that long! ha!
3. Then paint your second color of fingernail polish over the top. Carefully remove the vinyl…now you’ve got a fun chevron print on your nail. I heart nail art! :)

Two Color Nails with Washi Tape:
1. Paint your nails. Just like above…let them dry for 20 minutes.
2. Use a strip of washi tape to block half of your nail, & then you’ll paint on the second color.
3. Carefully remove the washi tape. You’re done! :) Now you have some sweet stripes on your nails. You can purchase Walgreen nail items online by clicking through that link! ^^^ :)

OK…now that we’ve got the tutorial out of the way…it’s time for our Par-Tay! We really couldn’t have our party at night time…it was a school night! ha! So we ended up having our party right after school. When the girls got there I had cookies & milk from Walgreens all ready for them. Since it was right after school it was the perfect choice of refreshments for our party.

Taping the paper straws to the milk with washi tape was the perfect touch. So cute!

The girls had so much fun painting their nails & trying out all the colorful Sally Hansen nail polish. They caught on to the color blocking technique pretty quick. They also had fun with the Sally Hansen Nail Polish Pens & other products, too.

After the girls finished their fancy nails they had fun in our “photo booth”. I just hung a table cloth to the side of our house with duck tape. I had a basket of fun accessories for them to use as props. It was a HIT, and the girls loved it! :)

Our party was a HUGE success! We loved all the Sally Hansen products!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner! I hope you checked out my 15+ Mother’s Day Gift Ideas post from yesterday! Today I have one more fun Mother’s Day gift idea to share with you, & there’s a giveaway. Yay! :) Hallmark has just released a brand new product line~ Pics ‘n’ Props. Several of their kits would help make a Mother’s Day-themed photo shoot a bit more fun, & they would also make a great gift for Mom or Grandma.

I had the opportunity to review a Pics ‘n’ Props kit. I thought it was such a cute idea, & I love how everything you need comes right in the box all ready to go! The kit I received had an I love you banner strung on ribbon, & then when you flipped it over it said We love Mom. Loved that you could use it both ways or either way for our pictures.

Here’s a few of the pictures I took of my silly little man! He wanted his picture by that big tree so bad. ha! He’s a cutie!

Mother’s Day Gift Card Box {tutorial}

Mother’s Day is coming up soon! It’s my favorite day of the year. ha! ;) If you have a super picky mom (like I am!) then a gift card might be the perfect gift, but you’ll want to make it look a little special! So today I’d love to show you how I made this pretty little Mother’s Day Gift Card Box. Annnd in case my hubby is reading my blog…I’d love a big ole gift card to Hobby Lobby for Mother’s Day. That would be perfect! ;) ha!

For this project you’ll need the following supplies:

PSA Essentials stamp body with black ink
PSA Essentials Topiary Peel & Stick stamp set ~ Happy Mother’s Day stamp & border
scrapbook paper
a Silhouette cutting machine
gift card box image from the Silhouette online store

First I assembled my gift card box.

Then I used my alignment tool to get my peel & stick stamp ready. I laid the stamp on the alignment tool smooth side UP.

Then I set my stamp body on the alignment tool & pressed it down. My stamps stuck right to the stamper, and now we are ready to stamp!

What’s great about the PSA Essentials stamps is that you get a nice, crisp image every time you stamp! Just make sure you are stamping on a smooth, flat service. I like using my cutting mat underneath my paper. That seems to help out a lot.

I then punched out my Happy Mother’s Day stamp with a circle punch, & then I glued it in place with a glue stick.

I put my gift card inside, and then I tied a piece of twine around the box. That’s it! Now we have a nice little gift for mom or grandma. :)
