Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear BALMAIN

2015-04-30T11:16:00.000-07:00

If Aphrodite was a 80's chic. That's how I see the new RTW Fall collection of Balmain

The shoulder pads, high waist pants and bold colors, jet another Fall 2015 show where a strong vibe of 70's and 80's was channeled. Icing on the cake for me was of course seeing Alessandra Ambrosio on the runway,

How to get Marilyn Monroe lips

2015-04-26T08:33:00.002-07:00

To make lips appear fuller, apply several shades of lip color and gloss to create dimension, that's what Marilyn Monroe's makeup artist did. Because I, along with the rest of the internet, am fascinated by pop culture's current fixation on voluptuous lips.

It was the perfect time to have a go at the technique myself.

Step 1: Line the lips

Create the shape of the lips you want with the darkest color pencil. Either brown, deep dark red or plum colored.

Step 2: Create a Base

Use a bright red shade and fill in the lips with the pencil. Focus on the corners of the mouth and use small, short strokes from outline to the center of the lips.

Step 3: Blend the color

With your brightest red , start in the center of of the mouth. Be careful not to go too close to the outline of lips (you don't want to erase the depth you created), but use this step to make sure everything is blended.

Step 4: Highlight and moisturize

Using a brush or your fingertip, press a cream highlighter into the center of your bottom lip. This adds fullness and draws the eye to the center of your mouth, making your lips look more lush.

And for last use a rose lip balm (or lipgloss) to add moisture and wetness back into your lips.

JESSICA ALBA'S FAVORITE TRAVEL ITEMS

2013-01-14T04:29:00.000-08:00

Comfy Travel Gear

"I wear versatile and comfortable clothes for a long flight,

like a blazer,
soft T-shirt and scarf with skinny jeans that stretch and ballet flats. The
scarf could double as an extra pillow or blanket if need be, and I usually
hang my blazer once I board the flight which keeps the wrinkles away.
I also try to pack socks and thin slippers because the bathroom floor
in the plane always seems to get wet and there is nothing worse than
stepping in an unidentifiable wet puddle."

A Makeup Bag

"I think everyone likes feeling fresh after a flight, so I pack
a mini makeup bag with Hourglass concealer, a
Shu Uemura eyelash curler, Hourglass or Physicians
Formula mascara, Tarte cream blush, and Honest healing
balm—flying can be extremely drying on your skin, so it's is
a must-have for your lips, hands, and all other dry spots
that need soothing."

TOMS Shoes

"TOMS are not only comfortable for walking long distances,
but they are easy to slip on and off at a security checkpoint.
Plus, the minimalist shoe is chic with jeans."

Honest Hand Sanitizer

"Because you’re exposed to so many germs while traveling, I always use our hand sanitizer as a way to prevent those common colds that one seems to get without fail when on an airplane. Even better, it
comes in the TSA-approved 2 oz. size and kills germs
without drying your skin."

The Nuddle Blanket

"The Nuddle is definitely a must-have travel item! I swear
it’s the best blanket ever because you can tuck your feet
into a pocket, slip your arms through open coverings,
and fold it into a compact square when you need to
pack up. I never leave home without mine."

Spacepaks

"I try to avoid checking luggage whenever possible so these Spacepaks make that much easier."

Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream

"I apply this great face cream during my flights to make sure my skin stays hydrated and dewy."

Luggage

"I love Rimowa's Topas line, but I really recommend
any roller suitcase with wheels that turn in every direction
and make it easy to navigate through airports and hotels."

Honest Discovery Kit

"Our discovery kit, which comes with five family essentials
products, has perfect travel-sized bottles. They are
great for throwing in your carry-on and the laundry
detergent is awesome to have when you need to do some
last minute washing after your kids leave their mark
on your clothes."

Emergen-C

"Airplanes, long travel days, and new climates can easily
challenge my immune system, so I take Emergen-C to
help stay healthy during my trips."

A Neck Pillow

"To make it easier to sleep in the airline's seat, any inexpensive neck pillow picked up at the airport will do!"

An iPad and the Luxe City Guides App

"Every parent and child enjoys a little entertainment on a
long flight, so our iPad allows Honor to have playtime with
educational and fun apps and it gives me an easy way to
catch up on news and emails while on the go. And thanks
to my new fave iPad accessory, a solar powered
keyboard/cover, it’s even easier to do this when traveling.
Luxe City Guides are my favorite and the app makes it so
that you don’t have to carry a travel book around everywhere
you go. I am a big fan of traveling light."

Tea

"I like drinking tea and you never know if the airline will
offer your fave kind, so I recommend packing a few bags
of the one you love for the plane."

Headphones

"My fave headphones are Beats by Dr. Dre and Honor
has some that I really like from Pottery Barn Kids because
the cord is adjustable in length, it doesn’t get tangled up
when she uses an iPad, and can be extended to watch a
DVD on the computer so she’s not too close to the screen."

Honest Sunscreen

"Cash and I love to spend time outdoors with the girls,
even when we’re on vacation. Our non-toxic Honest
sunscreen is safe for the entire family, even Haven, so
I make sure to pack it so everyone is always protected
from the sun."

HOW TO SELL ONLINE

2012-11-18T07:07:00.001-08:00

PICK THE RIGHT SITE
For clothes, use eBay, it has the most potential buyers.

WRITE A THREE-STEP TITLE
That's size, material, brand. "'Size 10 red lace Topshop dress' will get more hits than 'Gorgeous red dress': no one searches for 'gorgeous'. Pack in extra info with acronyms, eg NWOT (new without original tags) and NBW (never been worn).

BUILD UP YOUR FEEDBACK
On eBay, users rate each other after each sale to show they're trustworthy. It's a big mistake to sell a high-value piece when you have no feedback - you'll end up with a lower offer.
TIP: Get a positive rating by buying or selling a few small things, just to get the feedback.

END YOUR BID ON SUNDAY BETWEEN 6.30 AND 9.30PM
This is prime time for buyers, you have more chance of getting a sale and - hopefully - a bidding war.
TIP: Use eBay's 'Turbo Lister' to prep lots of listings in advance, then time all the auctions so they end up in the Sunday-night.

HAUL!

2012-10-19T08:06:00.000-07:00

I'm so freakishly late with this Haul, that I can't eaven belive it's happening right now! I went to a beauty expo like TWO freaking weeks ago. And finally, now I have some time to show you guys what I bought and what I think about the products ofcourse, cause I've been using them for a whole 2 weeks now.

So I had a budget of 50 euros (thats about $65), and I spent all of it. Ofcourse I would of spend 2-3 times more money If I could, but with the economy these days and shortage of money and... haha bla bla you know ;)

Anyways, there was so many great deals around, SALE after SALE after another.

First of all i stopped at this Italian make-up brand BellaOggi.

And it's a very cheap brand, with a high quality stuff, IT'S FREAKING AMAZING!

So here is what I got by BellaOgg

5 eyepencils 1,99 euros ($2,6) 5 lipliners 1,99 euros ($2,6)

Bellaoggi Gli Ombretti in "Nude" Eyeshadow compact with 4 different nude shades. They were so so shimmery and beautiful, so I'm def. gonna use the nude one as a highlighter, and guess what, It's perfect for both, as a highlighter and as a beautiful light basecolor for eyes/innercorners and browbone lighter.

And all the eyeshadow colors were so bigmented and gorgeous!

Next I got a bunch of glitters, I think 10 different colors ther were just 0,50 euros ($0,65)

(Sorry for the picture quality, took the picture with my phone)

And I also got only ONE brush :( I wish I could of bought a bunch of brushes but I ran out of money, so this brush was my last purchase.

It's a stipplingbrush by Everyday Minerals that cost me about 10,5 euros ($14)

PS! Very very pleased with this brush!!!

And last, but not least I got 3 amazing hairproducts that had and amaaaaaizing SALE!

They each cost me only for only 7,5 euros ($10), the cost in the salons start from abour 15 euros ($20)

BALMAIN Spring/Summer 2013 Paris Ready To Wear

2012-10-02T01:54:00.000-07:00

So it was time to rewind the clocks to when big big shoulders of the triangular and oversized gangster proportion were in and show them off to full effect with tapered high-waisted trousers and accessorise to the Nineties max with a teased single plait and huge hoop earrings.

BACKSTAGE

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2013 Paris

2012-10-01T03:12:00.001-07:00

"All the pop stars of the Eighties who have influenced fashion" – and, more importantly, Gaultier's fashion. This was all about the look.
Abba, Annie Lennox, Boy George, David Bowie, George Michael, Grace Jones, Madonna, Sade, Prince, Marilyn Monroe - and the list went on.
So Karlie Kloss made for a particularly stunning Boy George, dreadlocks and all, and Jourdan Dunn a gorgeous Sade complete with slicked-back hair and hoop earrings.
There was androgynous tailoring for Lennox and there were star bodysuits for Bowie and slick black dresses for Sade and of course corsetry - lots of corsetry - for Madonna. There was also a special guest appearance from Amanda Lear - in a pink sequin body suit.
In fact, this was less a fashion show and more a concert - fashion press up and out of their seats to sing and dance along to favourite sartorial soundtracks.
"It was so fun and uplifting," summed up Vogue's Fran Burns - a perfect description of a brilliantly surprising evening.

AND THE BACKSTAGE, that is always fascinating!

How to WAKE UP your MAKEUP!

2012-09-20T07:28:00.000-07:00

1 Do some resurfacing Even the best makeup can't give you radiant skin - which is where hyperbaric oxygen facial treatments come in. To get your own glow at home, minimize the apprance of pores with gentle clarifying pads (for example Arcona's Rasperry clarifying pads for $28), the smooth and hydrate with serum (for ex. Rejuvenate daily by Intraceuticals for $149, Intraceuticals.com)

2 Focus on lashes Swipe on purple mascara (it looks great with all eye colors, especially blue and green). For added drama grab some false lashes. Madonna's makeup artist likes to add five individual falsies along outer corners of upper lash lines. Glue at an angle so the ends are pointing outward "like your own lashes grow". (For ex. Yves Saint Laurent mascara in No. 5 Burgundy for $30)

3 Lighten up To bring out the bone structure, use Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour cream ($20 Elizabetharden.com). Dab it on the apples of your cheeks and under brow bones (wear waterproof mascara to prevent smudging). The sheen reflects light and draws attention to your eyes.

4 Get power pout To make lips more pronounced, line the top of the upper one with concealer. If your lips are dry or you want to avoid constant touch ups, swap matte stick for a waterproof stainless combo.

TIP! BLEND A DROP OF ARGAN OIL WITH CONCEALER FOR A LUMINOUS LOOK.

Irresistable wallet friendly buys!
