Argan oil is also full of antioxidants and helps to keep moisture in the skin while helping to maintaining the right texture. This oil deeply nourishes and moisturizes the skin, leaving it soft, plump and with a smoother look and feel. Sunflower and Pumpkin Seed oils are also included because they are beneficial for drier skins. These two oils are great sources of essential fatty acids, which are good for dry skin. I have always posted that exfoliation is very important and one of the key elements to good skincare. And microdermabrasion is one of the best ways to get results. It's a salon or medispa treatment which uses various types of crystals that are smoothed along the skin to exfoliate it and remove the upper layers of the epidermis. Proven to be quite effective, but quite costly, some scrubs that are used at home can mimic some of the results that microdermabrasion provides. Today I will be discussing a scrub which helps to rid the skin of dead skin cells in a natural way and that helps skin to regenerate itself without irritation, while leaving your skin glowing.

DERMA E Microdermabrasion Scrub is an excellent choice if you choose to use a scrub for exfoliation in your skincare routine. This wonderful smelling scrub (it smells like lemon, lime and orange), is a great way to get a salon treatment at home. Microdermabrasion is usually reserved for salons, medispas and dermatologists' offices, however this scrub gives you similar results with continued use. It helps to clear up clogged hair follicles (pores), which in turn prevents acne lesions, buffs aways dullness, removes fine lines and wrinkles, and helps to lighten the look of acne scars. Skin looks and feels smoother, and more radiant.

It contains a mixture of Dead Sea Salt and crystals (such as pumice and alumina) that combine to form a paste, which smoothes the skin without being overzealous. I would recommend this product for skins that are dry, normal, combination and oily but not acneic in nature. If you have a acneic skin and want to use this, make sure you do not have active breakouts on your face. This is something that would help to get rid of blackheads but it is not meant skin that has lesions already on it. Also, I would definitely not recommend it for really sensitive skin or skin that has been using chemical exfoliants on it (AHAs, Retin-A, etc.) under any circumstance. That type of skin is already thin enough and could become thinner with use of this product. Too much exfoliation erodes the natural moisture barrier and causes damage to the skin. Then the natural ceramides are damaged and need to be replaced. It becomes a vicious cycle. If your skin is mildly sensitive then if might work for you, but I would be cautious.

To use: apply to clean, wet skin and gently scrub desired areas in a circular motion, for up to 1 minute. Less pressure is recommended for more sensitive areas. Rinse well with lukewarm water and pat dry. Skin will likely be pink or red from use and is perfectly normal. Use twice a week.

The ingredients in this product are what really sell it. Dead Sea Salt helps to detoxify the skin and buff away dead skin cells (along with the pumice and alumina crystals) to reveal smoother, softer skin that looks and feels younger with each use. Citrus oils such as lemon, orange, and lime peel oils helps to energize and refresh the complexion so that it radiates with a beautiful glow. Vitamin E is an antioxidant and moisturizer that helps the skin look plump and dewy. Grape Seed Oil is abundant is vitamins and nourishes the skin. Kaolin clay helps to absorb excess oil and prevent further breakouts. Jojoba Seed Oil is an oil that helps to intensely nourish and moisturize the skin. Finally, Sweet Almond Oil intensely moisturizes and nourishes the skin, making is feel petal soft. When combined all together these ingredients make a killer scrub that leaves the skin feeling beautiful, soft and glowing.

Just because it is October does not mean it is time to put away the sunscreen. No, you always need to keep the sunscreen out. Wear it year round. Yes, you heard me correctly. I may sound preachy but if you want to keep your skin looking amazingly young and beautiful or to keep skin cancer away, you will definitely wear sunscreen daily. All year during the year.

Now just because you need to wear sunscreen that doesn't mean that is has to be heavy and smell like sunscreen does it? No, there are so many options now. One that I am particularly fond of is mineral sunscreen powder from called DERMA E Sun Protection Mineral Powder SPF30 that you can apply to your face on top of your makeup. How much fun is that? Seasonal Skincare Changes To Make From Summer To Autumn

Back during the spring I wrote a blog article about skincare and how important it is to change your skincare routine when the season changes from winter to spring. Well, it is just as important for you to change your skincare when the season changes from summer to autumn. Changing your skincare to suit the seasons is very important, always.

When the seasons change, skin changes as well. How? Usually from summer to autumn it starts to produce less sebum as the humidity levels in the air plummet. Also, as the air starts to take on a wonderful chill that we all love, our skin will start to get somewhat dehydrated. Therefore serums that we had using during the winter and spring become an integral part of our routine again. Finally, skin might look somewhat haggard after having been in the sun for some part of the summer. No matter how much sunscreen we may have been wearing! It is time to undo some of that damage. And undo it we will. We are going to make our skin glow and look radiant again.

As I mentioned above, the first sign of a change to skin is the decrease in humidity levels and a decrease in sebum levels in the skin. To help counteract this, make sure to use products with enough of a protective barrier on the outside that mimics sebum. A good moisturizer will help do the trick. And you might as well make it a moisturizer that works for your age and has sunscreen in it too during the day, right? So how do you know what is good for your skin type? If you have very dry skin or dry skin all year round and you don't really make much sebum during the summer months then you probably switch out your moisturizer for something lighter that doesn't feel like it is as heavy. Pick something for dry skin that is a cream to gel formula. Also make sure it has other ingredients in it like peptides, antioxidants and possibly retinol in it for the nighttime. However you could be someone like myself who has dry skin during the winter and normal skin during the summer. If you are like that, I also generally like to recommend trying out a gel-cream moisturizer during this time of year, as it goes on well in the heat, sinks into the skin and actually doesn't make your skin feel too heavy. There are so many brands out there that make these kinds of moisturizers but the majority of the great ones are Korean or Japanese. I like Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream. It is the best of all the gel-cream moisturizers.

I would also recommend a gel-cream moisturizer for normal skin, combination skin and even oily skin but ones that are specifically made for those skin types. Farmacy Beauty has one specially made for normal to oily skin, Daily Greens Oil-Free Moisturizer. Notice these are just moisturizers not sunscreens. So, these can be used alone at night or with a sunscreen on top. However if you want a good lightweight moisturizer with a sunscreen in it, then try No 7 Lift and Luminate Day Cream with SPF30 Fragrance-Free.

As your sebum levels adjust and your skin adjusts to the weather, your skin should stay well hydrated. You may find that you have some dehydration in your skin from the elements of summer such as sun, sea and salt. What does dehydrated skin look like? It generally looks shiny but without any sebum on it. Imagine skin that looks like it has a shiny "Saran Wrap" like appearance. To counteract this I would recommend a very light exfoliation on the skin to help get rid of any extraneous dead skin cells and then a series of hydrating sheet masks that will help to increase the hydration of the skin again. With these you can add serious moisture to the skin in a short amount of time without sacrificing much money. Sheet masks can be purchased for very little money. TONYMOLY has some wonderful sheet masks that I LOVE and work very well for the skin. After a very light exfoliation of a scrub such as TATCHA The Rice Wash, which is a cleanser and exfoliant in one, use a sheet mask. Apply a sheet mask and leave on for 20-30 minutes daily for one week to rehydrate the skin. This is a session that will rehydrate the skin in one week as opposed to waiting around at least 30 days for skin to replace itself and heal.

If your skin STILL has not healed after all of this, then it is likely you will need something to repair the natural moisture barrier, which has been compromised. This happens when the ceramides in the natural moisture barrier have evaporated from the skin when the skin is compromised in some way or another (usually do to damage from excessive exfoliation such as peels or scrubs). It can also happen due to damage from excessive sun exposure that causes blistering or peeling of the skin. What can repair the natural moisture barrier? Moisture and an occlusive product. You need to replace the ceramides lost in the skin. My favorite product is CeraVe Healing Ointment, which contains both moisture and an occlusive in one fell swoop. This product is a thick, rich ointment that can be slathered on skin that is broken, cut, scraped, abraded or compromised and almost immediately heals & softens the skin. It works so well that it is often the darling of dermatologists and is sold out everywhere.

The key to successfully navigating the seasons between your skin and the change in the weather is to actually pay attention to your skin, letting your skin show you what it needs. You are more likely to break out in some acne lesions due to the change in weather. If this happens to you, break out the salicylic acid and apply daily to the area where you tend to break out. Salicylic acid contains both an antibacterial and an anti-inflammatory agent, which means it actually treats the bacteria in the lesion and breaks down the inflammation. It also helps to get rid of some of the PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation).

Anytime of the year, a good body exfoliation is key for a successful skincare routine. Personally I love a good sugar scrub, as it more natural than say a jojoba bead based scrub. Sugar dissolves in water and is easier and gentler on the skin. Plus it provides a more even exfoliation. It can be used on the face and it more gentle than most other things you might place on the facial skin & can be used on all of the body skin too. I would recommend it for just about any skin type, even sensitive skins. This scrub smells absolutely divine for a body and facial scrub that leaves skin soft, hydrated and wonderfully polished.

What I like about this body scrub is that is can be used all over the body. TONYMOLY Watermelon Dew Sugar Polish contains sugar to exfoliate without over drying the skin, watermelon extract for hydration, to soothe irritations and increase blood circulation. Mango seed butter is also included to deeply moisturize the skin without causing too much heaviness. Glycerin is the primary ingredient and is the reason this product is so well hydrating; it is a humectant that helps to bring moisture to the skin from the air.

To use: on wet skin gently massage in circular motions to smooth and polish. Can be used on the face or body. Rinse off with lukewarm water and follow with the Watermelon Dew All-Over Hydrating Serum.

Fortunately this scrub is one of the best I have ever used. With this product you don't get the feeling like you have used a harsh scrub like you do with other products. It is completely different than other scrubs, all because of the sugar. I honestly prefer sugar scrubs to other ones because of this difference, It leaves my skin feeling completely soft, hydrated and smelling amazing. I love how it gets rid of all of my dry dead skin and leaves my body and face feeling so lovely. And the sugar just dissolves, leaving behind skin that is soft, supple and beautiful. After using it, skin will be immediately pink and have increased circulation. This is normal. Use on dry skin, not wet, so as not to dissolve the sugar crystals. Expect some resistance on the skin, as this is a very thick scrub. It works very well though and exfoliates the skin extremely well. I love how nicely my skin feels after using it. Also expect that you could use this on mild KP (keratosis pilaris) with some results, if used daily,

If you suffer from hyperpigmentation issues on you body as well as your face, then you will be happy to discover there are body lotions that cater specifically to help overcome this problem. DERMA E Lemongrass & Thyme Tone-Correcting Shea Body Lotion contains several different ingredients that lighten up but, don't completely get rid of pigmentation issues. For that you usually have to have laser ablation.

There are two ways this lotion works. First of all, it contains a poly-hydroxy acid in the form of Gluconolactone. Next it has Vitamin C Ester in the form of Ascorbyl Palmitate and Licorice Extract, which all help to brighten and even out the skin tone. Containing heavy moisturizing ingredients, this body lotion also helps to relieve dry, itchy skin. Glycerin (from a vegetable source) is a humectant that adds moisture to the skin by grabbing water from the air to the molecule. It can actually can penetrate to the deepest layer of the epidermis, the basal layer. Vitamin E helps to soothe and moisturize the skin. Shea butter is an incredible moisturizing ingredient that really helps to soothe dry, itchy skin. As does Panthenol (also known as ProVitamin B5), while also being somewhat humectant like. For itchiness and soothing properties, Allantoin was also included. By including Lemongrass Extract, it has anti-inflammatory properties. Reducing redness, inflammation, itching, and swelling. It is rich in antiseptic and astringent properties, leaving skin glowing and youthful. Thyme helps to stimulate circulation, leaving skin with a glow. Finally, it helps to minimize the appearance of sun damage. Remember to keep using a sunscreen, especially while using this product, which could cause some sun sensitivity.

To use: apply as needed to entire body, concentrating on areas of dryness.

I used this lotion and noticed a minor difference in the sun damage on my arms after only a few days. I have a gazillion freckles on my arms from years of sun exposure. This lotion is wonderful because it helps to moisturize the skin and to correct sun damage. I don't think this would make a huge difference in the skin but will help to even out small to minor differences that someone has. It also works well if your skin is dry. For this reason I do recommend the product, It has a great price point and smells absolutely amazing. Lemongrass is one of those scents that once you smell it, you want to smell it again and again, because it is so beautiful: clean, crisp, citrusy with green notes to it. And thyme has the herbal qualities to it.

Body lotion is an essential for people who suffer from dry skin or dry, flaky skin. Especially skin that is extra dry all year round. Recently I tried out a new lotion from DERMA E that has an enhanced formula. Containing ingredients that break up those dead skin cells and help to get rid of them, leaving skin feeling smooth and beautiful. What is even better is that this lotion smells amazing. It has the scent of lavender and neroli, which are some of my favorite essential oils. Lavender is relaxing and neroli is a light floral. Both help to delicately scent the skin, leaving it smelling beautiful.

This lotion contains both alpha and beta hydroxy acids. It contains Glycolic Acid (an AHA) and Salicylic Acid (a BHA) which exfoliate the dead skin, leaving behind only the smooth skin and getting rid of the nasty dull, dead skin. Vitamin E Lavender & Neroli Skin Smoothing Shea Body Lotion also contains incredibly rich moisturizing ingredients such as Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Panthenol, Glycerin, and Sodium Hyaluronate. Vitamin E is very hydrating to the skin. Shea Butter and Panthenol soothe and hydrate the skin. Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate are humectants that have excellent hydrating powers. The lotion also contains oils such as Cranberry Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil, which have extraordinary hydrating capabilities. Allantoin helps to soothe the skin. Ceramides are included to help restore the skin's natural moisture barrier.

To use, apply as needed to entire body and concentrate on especially dry areas.

I really do like this lotion. In the summer I usually avoid heavy body lotion because of the humidity and heat but my dry skin dictates that I still need it. So I have been using it only on the areas that are very dry, such as my legs, arms and feet. This lotion is especially good for rough and bumpy skin (such as keratosis pilaris) and skin conditions such as those that don't mimic atopic dermatitis or eczema. As long as you don't mind the lavender and neroli oils in it, this is perfect for any skin type. I would not recommend it for sensitive skin types, of course. But it is good for anyone else. Particularly rich, this lotion is great for winter and fall coming up. I would even go so far as to say that it would make a great lotion for the winter season coming up it is so rich and satistfying for the skin. Moisturizing capabilities aside, it exfoliates extremely well.

Being intimate with the opposite sex can often mean that one has to sacrifice comfort at the behest of someone else sometimes. Especially if it is a regular partner that you are with. I am just going to assume that you regularly actually have to do the dance of shame to the toilet after intimate relations to avoid getting the sheets wet or your underwear wet. Luckily now there is a better way to tackle this problem all together. Yes, you will still have to urinate to avoid a UTI, but avoid the nasty mess afterwards, and do it easily and quickly with The Dripstick.

The Dripstick is a great little invention that is the first after sex solution of its kind. And it is about time that a product like this was developed! It is made from a medical grade sponge, that when inserted into the vaginal canal, soaks up semen and actually prevents dripping onto the bed or floor. What a novel concept right? I thought so too!

Here is how it works: The Dripstick could not be more easy to use, ok? First take the handle and insert it into the vaginal canal. While seated, twirl The Dripstick inside the canal to absorb fluids and be sure to maintain control over the handle of The Dripstick. When everything is absorbed, remove it gently and and throw it away. Be sure to used the toilet to avoid a UTI. The Dripstick comes in various box sizes. There is a box of 10 for $15.00. A pack of 20 for $25.00. And finally a pack of 69 for $69.00.

I like this product very much and feel that it fills a specific niche. There was not anything like this on the market until now. My only concern is that this might be environmentally wasteful on packaging, etc. Otherwise I don't see any other issues with it. The Dripstick works well and actually performs as it says it is going to. It absorbs fluids as it should. And makes everything feel dry again. Which is exactly what I am looking for in this type of product. Also, with this kind of product one is not being safe sexually and using a condom. So there is that caveat. Make sure you are with a partner who has been tested and doesn't have any sexually transmitted diseases or infections. All in all, I am very happy with The Dripstick and think it is a winner.

Those who have sensitive skin often have a lot of trouble finding products that help them take care of their skin. Irritants are present in products, as well as allergens and other ingredients that are in most products. However, there are many products these days out there for those with sensitive skin. DERMA E has a whole new line of body care products and they have included a great body lotion for sensitive skin. This lotion is free from many of the ingredients that cause problems for the majority of those people with sensitive skin.

Today I will be reviewing the DERMA E Vitamin E Fragrance-Free Sensitive Skin Shea Body Lotion. This dermatologist recommended body lotion is enriched with soothing Aloe and calming Chamomile to nourish and condition dry, sensitive skin. Antioxidant-rich Pycnogenol ® helps to increase hydration in the skin, as well as elasticity and reduces the appearance of redness in the skin, keeping skin soothed. Soothing and comforting irritated skin is aloe. Shea butter adds a boost of moisture to soothe. Vitamin E helps to protect the skin from free radical damage as well as shielding the skin from elements while soothing and nourishing. Chamomile is an antioxidant rich flower that calms and soothes the skin. This lotion also contains Glycerin, which is a great humectant that will draw moisture into the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate (a form of Hyaluronic Acid) is another humectant that will help to draw moisture to the skin. Cranberry Seed Oil provides great moisturizing and soothing benefits. Jojoba Seed Oil is a humectant that is very moisturizing to the skin and doesn't cause reactions in many people.

To use, apply as needed to any area of the body. Concentrate on areas of dryness.

I don't have sensitive skin except on my neck (where I happen to have some atopic dermatitis that flares up, especially during the summer months). This body cream is great for anyone though. I use it on the driest areas of my body, such as my legs and feet. It absorbs easily and isn't too greasy. I think it will be good for any season and is especially a great lotion for skin that is moderately to severely dry. Also, it would nice if it came in a larger bottle. I would pay for a larger bottle of this. 8 oz. of this isn't that much really if you have dry skin and are using lotion all the time. But I do like this lotion. I think that those with very sensitive skin could use this easily but still use a patch test just to see if you will break out in hives or a rash.

I am back from vacation! I am sorry I took such a long extended leave of absence but, I needed to work through some things. Thankfully I did and am lucky I was able to take care of everything I needed to get done. Now I am back with some new reviews!

This first review is of a great product from DERMA E, Arnica Warming Sore Muscle Rub. Luckily this product is a little bit different than regular muscle rubs. It is moisturizing (due to the inclusion of Vitamin E) and non-greasy. Contains wildcrafted arnica to soothe sore muscles as well as hemp seed oil, peppermint oil, ginger extract and tea tree oil to help with pain. Arnica also prevents bruising as well. The cream is fast absorbing too. Also, it is free of colorants and raw materials derived from mineral oil.

To use: warm the cream in your hands and then apply to areas where there is any discomfort. Reapply as necessary. Wash hands thoroughly after using, as this product contains peppermint oil and menthol. You do not want them to get into your eyes.

I have severe osteoarthritis and this makes for a nice soothing rub for my knees that helps with some of the discomfort and extreme pain that I experience. It doesn't take away all the pain but it does help to relieve some of it. Believe me, I have some very bad pain at times, with limited mobility. I have found that it helps with mild to moderate discomfort and pain the best. One of the reasons that I like this product is because arnica is a natural healing agent and helps with pain so readily, as well as prevents bruising. I highly recommend this over other greasy, old-fashioned pain relievers. It works great for after sports, school work or play. And the pain relief lasts for a couple of hours. Not bad for the price at all.
