येशू परमेश्वर भएर पनि किन मानव शरीरमा आउनु भयो ?

पवित्र धर्मशास्त्र बाइबल अनुसार येशू परमेश्वर भएर पनि मानव रूपमा यस धर्तीमा जन्मलिनु भएको कुरा बताउँछ । वास्तवमा येशू परमेश्वर हुनुभएर पनि किन मावन रूप धारण गरी जन्मनु भयो भन्ने अति महत्वपूर्ण र गम्भिर प्रश्न हो । यसको जवाफलाइ हामी तलका बुदाँहरूको रूपमा हेर्ने छाैँ ।

१.प्रकाश

परमेश्वर कस्तो हुनुहुहुन्छ भनी हामीलाई देखाउन येशू ख्रीष्ट मानिस भएर जिउनुभयो । हामीहरु उहाँमा परमेश्वरको स्वभाव प्रकट भएको देख्छौँ । येशू ख्रीष्टलाई चिन्नाले हामी परमेश्वरलाई चिन्छौँ । सिद्ध मानवत्व कस्तो हुनसक्छ भनेर हामीलाई देखाउन परमेश्वरका पुत्र मानिस बन्नुभयो । हामी मानवजातिको निम्ति येशू ख्रीष्टको सिद्ध जीवन र स्वाभाव एक नमूनाको रुपमा देख्छौँ । यही नै उदाहरण हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँको स्तरबाट नै हाम्रा शब्दहरु, विचारहरु र कामहरुको नाप हुन्छ । उहाँमा हाम्रो जीवन कस्तो प्रकारको हुन सक्छ भन्ने कुरा उहाँले हामीलाई देखाउनुहुन्छ । उहाँ हामीमा रहेर हामीलाई परमेश्वरका सन्तान बनाउनु हुन्छ । एफिसी ४ः१३ “जबसम्म हामी सबै विश्वासको र परमेश्वरको पुत्रको ज्ञानको एकता प्राप्त गर्दैँनौँ, र परिपक्व मानिस बनी ख्रीष्टका पूर्णताको नापसम्म पुग्दैनौँ । येशू ख्रीष्टको जीवनले उहाँको सेवाको निम्ति चाहिने योग्यता पनि प्रदर्शन गराएको छ । उहाँ हाम्रो सट्टाको योग्य हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने कुरा उहाँको पापरहित जीवनले देखाउँछ । उहाँको शक्ति, बुद्धि र प्रेमले उहाँ हाम्रा राजा हुन योग्य हुनुहुन्छ भनी प्रमाणित गर्दछ ।”

२.तयारी

मानिस हुनुभएको कारणले उहाँले गर्नुपर्ने कामको निम्ति येशू ख्रीष्टको जीवन तयारी हुन आवश्यक थियो । येशू ख्रीष्टको जीवन तयारी हुन आवश्यक थियो । येशू ख्रीष्टले मानव स्वभावको अनुभव गर्नुभयो जसद्वारा उहाँ हाम्रा प्रतिनिधि र न्यायधीश हुनको निम्ति तयारी हुनुभयो । हाम्रा पूजाहारी हुनको निम्ति येशू ख्रीष्ट मानिस बन्न आवश्यक थियो । उहाँले हाम्रा कमजोरीहरु बाँड्नुभयो । आज्ञाकारिताको निम्ति चुकाउनु पर्ने मूल्यको विषयमा उहाँले आफ्नै दुःख कष्टबाट सिक्नुभयो । येशू ख्रीष्ट यस संसारमा छँदा आफ्ना चेलाहरुका निम्ति प्रार्थना गर्नुभयो र अहिले पनि हाम्रा आवश्यकताहरुलाई राम्रोसँग बुझेर हाम्रा निम्ति स्वर्गमा प्रार्थना गरिरहनुहुन्छ । हिब्रू २ः१७–१८ “यसैकारण हरके कुरामा उहाँ आफ्नै भाइहरुजस्तै बनाइनुप¥यो, र मानिसहरुका पापको प्रायश्चित गर्नलाई परमेश्वरको सेवामा उहाँ कृपालु र विश्वस्त प्रधान पूजाहारी बन्नुभयो । किनकि उहाँ आफैले कष्ट भोग्नुभयो र परीक्षित हुनुभयो, यसैले परीक्षामा पर्नेहरुलाई उहाँले सहायता गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ ।” हिब्रू ४ः१४–१६ “आकाश छिचोलेर जानुभएका परमेश्वरका पुत्र येशू हाम्रा महान प्रधान पूजाहारी हुनुभएको कारण हामीmे पक्कासँग स्वीकार गरेको यो विश्वास थामिराखौँ । किनकि हाम्रा प्रधान पूजाहारी हाम्रा दुर्बलतामा हामीसँग सहानुभूति देखाउन नसक्ने हुनुहुन्न । तर हामीजस्तै उहाँ सबै कुरामा परीक्षित हुनुभयो, र पनि पापरहित हुनुहुन्थ्यो । यसकारण साहससँग अनुग्रहको सिंहासन नजीक जाऔँ, र समयमा सहायता पाउनलाई कृपा र अनुग्रह प्राप्त गर्न सकौँ ।”

येशू ख्रीष्टको मानवीय अनुभवले मानिसमाति शासन गर्नको लागि उहाँलाई तयारी पारेको थियो । मानिसको पुत्र र आदमको वंशको सिद्ध प्रतिनिधि नै यस संसारको शासक हुनुहुनेछ । हामीलाई आवश्यक परेका सबै कुराहरु जान्ने हुनुभएकोले उहाँ सिद्ध राजा हुनुहुनेछ । उहाँले हामीलाई बुझ्नुहुनेछ । हाम्रा निम्ति उहाँ मर्नुभएको कारणले हाम्रो जीवनलाई शासन गर्ने अधिकार उहाँसँग छ । उहाँलाई विश्वास गरी स्वीकार गर्नेको हृदयमा उहाँ राजा हुनुहुन्छ । कुनै दिन उहाँले संसारमा शासन गर्नुहुनेछ, जसको निम्ति उहाँ मर्नु पनि भयो । दानिएल ७ः१३,१४ “रातीको दर्शनमा मैले हेरिनै रहेको थिएँ, अनि आकाशका बादलहरुसँग मानिसका पुत्रजस्तै कोही आइरहनुभएको मैले देखेँ । उहाँ ती अति प्राचीन उमेरकहाँ आउनुभयो र उहाँकै सामने हाजिर गराइनुभयो । अनि विभिन्न भाषा बोल्ने सबै जातिका मानिसहरुले उहाँको सेवा गरुन भनेर उहाँलाई सर्वाधिकार, महिमा र राज्याधिकार दिइयो । उहाँको सर्वाधिकार कहिल्यै नबित्ने, सदासर्वदैको सर्वाधिकार छ, अनि उहाँको राज्याधिकार कहिल्यै नष्ट हुनेछैन ।”

३.सट्टा

येशू ख्रीष्ट मर्न सक्नको निम्ति नै जन्मनुभएको थियो । सबै मानवजातिले पाप गरेका कारण अनन्तको निम्ति दण्ड पाएका थिए । हामीहरु प्रत्येकले त्यही नै दण्ड पाएका छौँ । परमेश्वर आफैले हाम्रो दण्ड लिएर मात्र हामीलाई बचाउन सक्नुहुन्थ्यो । परमेश्वर भएरै उहाँ मर्न सक्नुभएन । यसकारण हाम्रो सट्टामा मर्न र हामीलाई पापबाट उद्धार गर्न उहाँ मानिस बन्नुभयो । येशू ख्रीष्टले क्रुसमा हाम्रो ठाउँ लिनुभन्दा पनि अझ धेरै गर्नुभयो । उहाँ मरेको शरीरबाट बौरीउठ्नु भयो र उहाँलाई मुक्तिदाता भनी स्वीकार गर्ने सबैलाई उहाँको अनन्त राज्यमा ठाउँ पनि उहाँले दिनुभएको छ उहँ आफैसँग उहाँले हामीलाई मिलाउनु हुन्छ, यसकारण उहाँले परमेश्वरको पुत्रको अधिकार हामीसँग बाँड्नु भएको छ । हिब्रू २ः९ः११,१३–१५ ।

४.मध्यस्थ

परमेश्वर र मानिसलाई एकैसाथ ल्याउनको निम्ति येशू ख्रीष्ट मानव बन्नुभयो । पापले पवित्र परमेश्वर र दुष्ट अनि विद्रोही मानिसको बीचमा ठूलो अन्तर गराएको छ । तर परमेश्वरको प्रेमले त्यस पापी मानिसलाई उहाँ आफैकोमा ल्याउन र खाली ठाउँमा पुल हाल्ने काम गर्न सक्यो । प्रभु येशू ख्रीष्ट परमेश्वर र मानिसहरुको बीचमा नयाँ करार वा सम्बन्धको मध्यस्थ हुनुभएको छ । १ तिमोथी १ः५,६ “किनकि परमेश्वर एउटै हुनुहुन्छ, परमेश्वर र मानिसहरुका बीचमा मध्यस्थ पनि एउटै हुनुहुन्छ– मानिस ख्रीष्ट येशू ।” उहाँले सबैका छुटकाराका मोलको निम्ति आफैलाई सुम्पिदिनुभयो । नयाँ नियम समयमा अदालतले ऋण तिर्न नसक्ने व्यक्तिको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्न र उसको सबै जिम्मा लिनको निम्ति मध्यस्थलाई नियुक्त गथ्र्याे । सबै व्यक्तिहरुको ऋण तिरिएको छ कि छैन भनी हेर्ने जिम्मेवारी मध्यस्थको हुन्थ्यो । यदि ऋणीले आफ्नो सम्पतिबाट तिर्न नभ्याउने भए, मध्यस्थ आफैले त्यो ऋण तिरिदिन्थ्यो ।

येशू ख्रीष्टको नमुना कस्तो सुन्दर देखिन्छ । उहाँ परमेश्वरको अगाडि हाम्रो मध्यस्थ हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँको मृत्युले हाम्रा सबै पाप ढाक्छ र हामीलाई परमेश्वरबाट छुट्याउने पाप र दोषबाट हामी उहाँमा स्वतन्त्र हुन्छौँ । उहाँको क्रूसले परमेश्वर र मानिसको बीचको खाली ठाउँलाई जोड्छ । उहाले हामीलाई नयाँ स्वाभाव अर्थात उहाँको स्वाभाव दिएर परमेश्वरका छोराछोरीहरु बनाउनुभयो । येशू ख्रीष्टले मानव स्वभाव धारण गरेर हामीकहाँ आउनुभयो र उहाँले हामीलाई उत्तम तरिकाले जिउन सहायता गर्नुहुन्छ । हामी परमेश्वरका सन्तान हुन सकौँ भनेर परमेश्वरका पुत्र मानिसको पुत्र बन्नुभयो । गलाती ४ः४–५ “तर समयको पूर्णतामा परमेश्ले आफ्ना पुत्रलाई पठाउँनुभयो । उहाँ एउटी स्त्रीबाट जन्मनुभयो, तथा व्यवस्थाको अधीनमा रहनेहरुलाई मोल तिरेर छुटाउनलाई उहाँ पठाइनुभयो, ताकि हामी पुत्रको पूरा हक पाउन सकौँ ।” १ पत्रुस ३ः१८ “किनभने हामीलाई परमेश्वरकहाँ ल्याउन ख्रीष्ट पनि पापहरुका निम्ति सदाको लागि एक चोटि मर्नुभयो । उहाँ शरीरमा मारिनुभयो– धमीजन अधर्मीहरुका निम्ति–तर आत्माद्वारा जीवित पारिनुभयो ।”

येशू बिषेश गरी हामी मानव जातिको मुक्तिको लागि नै यस संसारमा आउनु भएको हो भन्ने कुरा बाइबलले स्पष्ट पार्दछ । यस विषयमा अल्बान डग्लस लेख्छन् “मुक्तिदाता हुनको निम्ति येशू कन्याद्वारा जन्मिनु भएको परमेश्वर हुनु मात्र पर्याप्त थिएन, तर उहाँ साँचो मानिस पनि हुनुपथ्र्याे । पापपूर्ण हुनुबाहेक उहाँ हरेक क्षेत्रमा हामीजस्तै हुनुहुन्थ्यो । परमेश्वरको सम्बन्धको कुरामा उहाँ कृपालु र विश्वासयोग्य प्रधान पूजाहारी हुनलाई येशू हामी जस्तै हुनुभयो । व्यवस्थाबाट हामीलाई छुटकारा दिन भनी येशू व्यवस्थाको अधीनमा भएर जन्मनुभयो ।” यस्तै कति मानिसहरुले विश्वास गर्छन् कि येशू यस संसारमा रोगीहरुलाई निको पर्न वा अरुलाई सहायता गर्न मात्र जन्मनु भएको थियो । हो येशूले रोगीहरुलाई निको पार्नु भयो तर उहाँको उद्देश्य यो मात्र होइन । “येशू संसारमा आउनुको उद्देश्य यी आश्चर्यकर्महरु मात्रै थिएन । ती आश्चर्यहरु चाहिँ प्रमाणहरु थिए जसले येशूको पाप क्षमा गर्ने अधिकारद्वारा प्रतिज्ञा गरिएका ससिहको रुपमा उहाँलाई स्थापित गरे । यी सबै रोगहरु केवल वास्तविक समस्याका लक्षण मात्र थिए ।”

कट्टर नास्तिकबादबाट ख्रीष्टियानमा परिवर्तन भएका व्यक्तिहरु मध्ये प्रख्यिात व्यक्तिको रुपमा चिनिने अमेरिकन व्यक्ति हुन् लि स्ट्रोबेल । उनको जन्म ख्रीस्टाब्द १९५२ जनावरी २५ मा अमेरिकामा भएको थियो । पेशागत दृष्टिकोणले उनी पत्रकार थिए । उनले आफ्नो पत्रकारिताको डिग्री मिसौरी विद्यालय र कानूनमा स्नातकोत्तर याले ल स्कूलबाट गरेका थिए ।[1] सिकागो ट्रिब्यूनमा पत्रिकामा कानुनी सम्पादक साथै अन्य विभिन्न पत्रपत्रिकामा करिब १४ बर्ष भन्दा पत्रकारको रुपमा काम गरेका थिए । आफ्नी पत्नी ख्रीष्टमा रुपान्तरण भएपछि ख्रीष्टको बारेमा बाइबलीय दावीकोबारेमा अनुसन्धान गर्दा गर्दै अन्त्यमा उनले पनि ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गरेका थिए ।

लि स्ट्रोबेल एक नास्ति थिए, जसले गर्दा उनी कुनै पनि ईश्वरको अस्तित्व माथि विश्वास गर्दैन थिए । उनले परमेश्वर प्रेमिलो र सर्वशक्तिमान हुनुहुन्छ र येशू ख्रीष्टको पुनरुत्थान केवल भ्रम हो भन्ने कुरामा विश्वास गर्दथे । उनको श्रीमती लज्जीले ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गर्ने निर्णय सँगै उनले ख्रीष्टबारे गलत धारणाको विकास गरेका थिए किनकि उनी नास्तिक थिए । यसैकारण स्ट्रोबेलले वैवाहिक सम्बन्धमा समाप्त गर्ने निर्णय सम्म पुगेका थिए ।

ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गरेपछि उनको श्रीमतीमा केही सकरात्मक परिवर्तन आएको महसुस गरे । विशेषतः उनको श्रीमतीको चरित्रमा परिवर्तन, छोराछोरीहरु प्रति गर्ने व्यवहार आदी कुरामा परिवर्तन आएको देखेर स्ट्रोबेल आश्चर्यमा थिए । आफ्नो श्रीमतीम आएको परिवर्तनले गर्दा उनी पनि एक दिन मण्डली जाने निर्णय गरे । वास्वतमा ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गर्ने उद्देश्य नभई जाँच गर्ने दृष्टिकोण र आफ्नी श्रीमतीलाई त्यस मण्डलीबाट छुटाउनको निम्ति गएका थिए । मण्डली गएपछि उनले विशेषत रुपमा येशू ख्रीष्टको बारेमा सुने । परमेश्वरले सित्तैँको उपहार येशू ख्रीष्ट हामीहरुको पापको निम्ति दिनुभयो जसले गर्दा येशू हाम्रो लागि मर्नुभयो र हामी उहाँ सँगै अनन्त जीवन विताउँने छौँ भन्ने कुराहरु स्स्ट्रिोबेलले सुने, त्यसपछि उनको जीवनमा प्रश्नै प्रश्न खडा भयो । तिनले सोचे, “यदि यो साँचो हो भने यसले मेरो जीवनमा बृहत् प्रभाव पार्दछ ।”[2] त्यस पछि आफ्नो पत्रकारिताको अनुभव र कानुनको ज्ञानले ख्रीष्टियान विश्वास सहि छ या छैन भनी स्वः अनुसन्धान गर्न थाले ।

करिव १ बर्ष ९ महिनाको लागि अनुसन्धान पछि लि स्ट्रोबेलले ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गरे । ख्रिस्टाब्द १९९१ नोभेम्बर ८ मा उनले येशू ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गरी येशू ख्रीष्टलाई आफ्नो प्रभु र मुक्तिदाताको रुपमा स्वीकार गरे । “ख्रिस्टियनमतको पक्षमा साक्षी यति प्रबल थियो कि तिनको लागि ख्रीष्टियान हुनुभन्दा नास्तिक हुनको लागि बेसी विश्वास चाहिने भयो । साक्षीले तिनलाई ख्रीष्टियान विश्वासको सत्यतातिर डो¥याएकोले तिनले त्यसलाई इन्कार गर्न सकेनन् ।”

ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास गरेपछि उनको बानी व्यवहार, मूल्य मान्यता, चरित्र र जीवनको उद्देश्यमामा विस्तारै रुपान्तरण आउन थाल्यो । उनी बर्तमान समयमा जिवित रहेका प्रख्यात रक्षाशास्त्री र पाष्टर हुन् । उनले आफ्नो अनुसन्धानमा पत्तालगाएका स्रोतहरुलाई समेटिएर एउटा पुस्तक लेखे जसको नाम ‘द केस फर क्राइस्ट’ हो । यो ख्रीष्टियान जगतका साथै यूरोयिन जगतमा निकै प्रख्यात पुस्तक हो । यसको साथै उनले ‘द केस फर रेजुरेक्सन’, ‘द केस फर फेथ’, ‘द केस फर अ क्रियटर’, ‘द केस फर इस्टर’, ‘द केस फर ख्रीष्टमस’ आदी विभिन्न पुस्तकहरु लेखेका छन् ।[3] उनी पाष्टर, पत्रकारका साथै ख्रीष्टयान जगतमा जिवित रहेका रक्षाशास्त्री हुन् ।

संसारमा करिब ४,३०० धर्महरू रहेको पाइन्छ ।[1] यी धर्महरूमा प्रमुख धर्महरू ख्रीष्टियान, इस्लाम, हिन्दु, बुद्धिष्ट र यहुदी धर्म मानिन्छ । संसारमा ख्रीष्टियन ३३ प्रतिशत, इस्लाम २१ प्रतिशत, हिन्दु १४ प्रतिशत, बौद्ध ५ प्रतिशत र यहुदी ०.२२ प्रतिशत रहेको पाइन्छ ।[2] हेरक धर्मको आफ्नो आस्था अनुरुपको आफ्नै धर्मशास्त्र हुने गर्दछ । ख्रीष्टियानको बाइबल, इस्लामको कुअरान, हिन्दुको वेद, बुद्धिष्टको त्रिपिटक र यहुदीको तालमुड नै उनीहरूको धर्मशास्त्र हो । बिशेषगरी धर्मशास्त्रले त्यस धर्मका अनुयायीहरूलाई धार्मिक कुराहरूको बारेमा सिकाउँने गर्दछ र समाजमा एक चरित्रवान नैतिक व्यक्तिको रुपमा स्थापित गर्न सिकाउँछ । साथै उनीहरूले गर्ने विश्वास र परम्पराको बारेमा पनि धर्मशास्त्रले बताउँछ । साथै धर्मशास्त्रले ईश्वरको अस्तित्वको बारेमा पनि केही हद सम्म जानकारी दिने गर्दछ ।

बाइबल एक धार्मिक पुस्तक होइन । न त यो ईसाइहरूको मात्र पुस्तक हो । बाइबल ६६ वटा पुस्तकहरूको संग्रह हो, जसलाई विभिन्न ठाउँमा चालिसभन्दा बढी व्यक्तिहरूले १५०० वर्षको अवधिभित्र लेखेका थिए ।

बाइबलको परिचयः

“बाइबल नाम ग्रीक शब्द बिब्लियाबाट आएको हो जसको अर्थ “धेरै पुस्तकहरू” भन्ने हुन्छ । बाइबल ४० जनाभन्दा बढी लेखकहरूद्वारा धेरै भूमिहरूमा १४००–१६०० वर्षको अवधिमा लेखिएको थियो । बाइबलमा भएका ६६ वटा पुस्तकहरू विभिन्न भाषाहरू र भिन्न–भिन्न परिस्थितिहरूमा लेखिएका थिए र पनि त्यहाँ एउटा मात्र महान् पुस्तक र एउटा मात्र मुख्य विषयवस्तु छ । यी विभिन्न लेखाइहरूको एउटा मात्र मुख्य सन्देश भएको तथ्यले यही कुराको प्रमाणित गर्छ कि बाइबलको स्रोत मानिसकम होइन तर परमेश्वरमा छ । यसको अस्तित्वले नै यही तथ्यको साक्षी दिन्छ । यो अरु सबैभन्दा भिन्न पुस्तक हो ।”[4]

बाइबलको परिचयको बारेमा लेखक दिल बहादुर तामाङ लेख्छन्,

“बाइबल शब्द ल्याटिन भाषाको शब्द बिब्लिया (Biblia) बाट लिइएको हो, जसको अर्थ ‘पुस्तकहरू’ भन्ने हुन्छ । ल्याटिन भाषाको शब्द बिब्लिया (Biblion) बहुवचन शब्द भएकोले बाइबललाई पुस्तकहरूको पुस्तक भनेर भनिन्छ । त्यसैगरी ग्रीक भाषाको बिब्लियोन (Papyrus) शब्दबाट भने पपिरस (एबउथचगक) मा लेखिएको कुनै पनि लिखत भन्ने हुन्छ ।”[5]

तसर्थ बाइबल भन्ने शब्द ल्याटिन र ग्रीक शब्द बाट आएको हो जसको अर्थ चाहिँ पुस्तक भन्ने हुन्छ । बाइबल कुनै एक धार्मिक पुस्तक होइन यो ईशाइहरूको मात्र पुस्तक पनि होइन तर यो त मानव जातीले कसरी मुक्ति पाउन सक्छ भनी सबै मानव जातीको लागि लेखिएको जीवित पुस्तक हो । बाइबल ६६ वटा पुस्तकहरूको संग्रह हो । जसलाई २ भागमा बिभाजन गरिन्छ । १. पुरानो करार,जसमा ३९ वटा पुस्तकहरू छन् । २. नयाँ करार, जसमा २७ वटा पुस्तकहरू छन् । यी ६६ वटा पुस्तकहरूको संगालो नै पवित्र बाइबल हो । यी पुस्तकहरूलाई बिभिन्न स्थानहरूमा करिब ४० भन्दा बढी व्यक्तिहरूले विभिन्न काल खण्डमा करिव १५०० बर्षको अवधीमा लेखेका हुन् । यी लेखकहरू कोही राजाहरू थिए ( राजा दाउद, सोलोमन) कोही माझीहरू (पत्रुस,यूहन्ना), कोही दासहरू (दानिएल, एज्रा, नेहेम्याह) कोही गोठालाहरू ( मोशा) कोही पाल बन्ने (पावल), कोही अगमबक्ता (यशैया, यर्मिया,इजकिएल), कोही डाक्टर (लूका) थिए । यसमा कोही पढेका व्यक्तिहरू र कोही नपढेका व्यक्तिहरू थिए । बाइबल बिशेष गरी ३ भाषामा लेखिउको छ । ग्रीक, आरमेइक, हिब्रू भाषामा लेखिएको थियो । बिशेष गरी बाइबल एशिया, अफ्रिका र यूरोप देशहरूमा लेखिएको थियो ।

बाइबल परमेश्वरको वचन हो । यसमा ६६ वटा पुस्तकहरू, ११८९ वटा अध्यायहरू र ३१,१७३ ओटा पदहरू छन् । बाइबलमा परमेश्वरको मन, मानिसको वृतान्त र अवस्था, मुक्तिको मार्ग र विश्वासीहरूको साँचो आनन्दको कुरा पाइन्छ । बाइबलमा उल्लेख गरिएका इतिहास र ऐतिहासिक विवरणहरू पूर्ण रुपमा सत्य छन् । यस्तै वचनले मानिसलाई साँचो मार्गमा निर्देशन गर्नुका साथै पढ्नेहरूको निम्ति यो आत्मिक भोजन, सान्त्वनाको स्रोत र आत्मिक बृद्धिको स्रोत पनि सावित भएको छ । “ संसारमा सबभन्दा बढी पढिएका पुस्तकहरूमध्ये बाइबल एउटा हो । प्रसिद्ध नास्तिक दाशनिक भोल्टेयर बाइबललाई होच्याउँदै करिब एक शताब्दीभित्रै इसाइ मत पतन हुनेछ भनी भबिष्यवाणी गरेका थिए । त्यही घर जहाँ भोल्टयर रहेका थिए, त्यहाँ नै फ्रान्स बाइबल सोसाइटी भण्डार हुनुपुग्यो जहाँ हजारौ बाइबलहरू वितरण भएका छन् ।” [7]

Introduction to Modalism

Trinity is one of he most important doctrines in the Bible. Our perception of who God is affects our worship and relationship with Him. As a matter of fact, it is also one of the hardest doctrines in the Bible. The teaching that God is three persons and yet there is one God is hard to grasp. How are we to defend Christian monotheism while simultaneously maintaining the distinctions between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? In the process of harmonizing these apparently incompatible statements (there is only one God, and yet that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is God as a distinct person) many heresies have evolved in the history of Christianity. Historically the church has been compelled to repudiate three different errors repeatedly: (1) tritheism, which affirms that there are three "Gods" – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; (2) modalism, which asserts the existence of only one God who manifests Himself in different modes at different times but never can be two or more manifestations simultaneously; and (3) subordinationism, which envisions Christ and the holy Spirit as lesser gods than the Father, representing them as beings created by the Father.[1]

It is very unfortunate, but the heresy of modalism is rampant in Nepali churches. There are three reasons that contributed to the widespread use of illustrations that perpetuate modalism when people teach about Trinity in Nepal. The first reason can be attributed to the Hindus concept of reincarnation wherein Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are one person in different manifestations. Second, the Nepali Christians are not aware that modalism had been condemned in the history. Third, they do not understand the biblical teaching about Trinity. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to present the historical background of modalism, why it was repudiated, the biblical teaching about the Trinity and its theological analysis.

Historical Development of Modalism

The knowledge in historical doctrine can help identify and refute false doctrines. Moreover, it also helps in gaining an appreciation for right doctrines. Most of the significant doctrinal issues have already been dealt thoroughly, and the brightest minds of the church have labored hard on them over the centuries. Thus, in dealing with false doctrine, it is important to consider its historical development.

The term "modalism" was introduced by the nineteenth-century German historian Adolf von Harnack. However, in the ancient literature this doctrine was called "monarchianism" or "patripassianism" in the west and "sabellianism" in the east.[2]

The first prominent advocate of this heresy was Praxeas of Asia Minor, who taught this doctrine in Rome around A. D. 200.[3] According to him, it was the whole God who was present in Jesus. The names Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were merely different titles applied to the one simple being. He taught that the Father and Son were one identical Person.[4] This led to the charge of patripassianism, which became another label of modalism. Patripassianism is the teaching that it was the Father who became incarnate, was born of a virgin, and who suffered and died on the cross.[5] Of this kind of heresy, Tertullian sarcastically charged, "Praxeas did a twofold service to the devil of Rome: he drove away prophecy and brought in heresy; he put to flight the Paraclete, and crucified the Father."[6] In support of his theory, Praxeas constantly appeals to such passages as Isaiah 45:5 "I am the Lord and there is none else, there is no God beside me.," John 10:30 "I and Father are one.," John 14:9 "he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father.," John 14:11 "I am in the Father and the Father in me."[7]

Noetus of Smyrna taught the same view about A. D. 200, which was later brought to Rome. Appealing to biblical passages such as Romans 9:5; Isaiah 45:14; and John 10:30, Noetus seemed to be defending both devotion to Christ and traditional monotheism. He argued that if Christ was God then he must be identical with the Father; otherwise he could not be God. Consequently, if Christ suffered, the Father suffered, since there could be no division in the Godhead. When he was criticized and condemned by the church, Noetus replied, "what wrong have I done, glorifying one only God, Christ, who was born, suffered and died?"[8] Two of his disciples Epigonus and Cleomenes propagated this doctrine in Rome, and were reported to have taught that Christ "confessed himself to be the Son to those who saw him, while to those who could receive it, he did not hide the fact that he was the Father."[9]

Callistus, a former slave who became Bishop of Rome in 217[10], confirmed and propagated the doctrine of Noetus. He declared that the Son was merely the manifestation of the Father in human form; the Father animating the Son, as the spirit animates the body, and suffering with him on cross. "The Father," he said, "who was in the Son, took flesh and made it God, uniting it with himself and made it one. Father and Son were, therefore, the name of the one God, and this one person cannot be two; thus the Father suffered with the Son." His followers were called "Callistians."[11]

Hippolytus, who was the leading opponent and rival of Callistus, charged him as an "unreasonable and treacherous man, who brought together blasphemies from above and below only to speak against the truth, and was not ashamed to fall now into the error of Sabellius, now into that of Theodotius." Callistus differed from the ditheistic separation of the Logos from God, but also from the Sabellian confusion of the Father and the Son, and insisted on the mutual identity of the divine persons; in other word, he sought the way from modalistic Unitarianism to the Nicene trinitarianism; but he was not explicit and consistent in his statements. He excommunicated both Sabellius and Hippolytus; the Roman church sided with him, and made his name one of the most prominent among the ancient popes. After the death of Callistus, who accepted the papal chair between 218 and 223 or 224, patripassianism disappeared from the Roman church.[12]

Beryllus, bishop of Bostra in Arabia, about 240, also asserted that Christ did not pre-existed in a distinct form of being of his own, and that he does not possess a divinity of His own, but only that of the Father committed to Him in the incarnation. His view forms the stepping-stone from Patripassianism to Sabellianism.[13] At an Arabian synod in 244, where the presbyter Origen, then himself accused of heresy, was called into consultation, Beryllus was convinced of his error by that great teacher. He is said to have thanked Origen afterwards for his instruction. Here we have one of the very few theological disputes that have resulted in unity instead of greater division.[14]

A more sophisticated form of modalism was taught by Sabellius in Rome early in the third century and was given the name Sabellianism. Sabellius taught the existence of divine mode, which by process of expansion projected itself successively in revelation as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As the Father, it revealed itself as Creator and Lawgiver. As the Son, it revealed itself as Redeemer. As the Spirit, it revealed itself as the Giver of grace. These were three different modes revealing the same divine person. He is traditionally said to be the last one who advocated modalistic monarchianism.[15]

In dealing with heresies especially pertaining to Trinity, it is significant to consider the Creeds formulated in the history by the church fathers. Hodge has the following to say:

When we consider the incomprehensible nature of the Godhead, the mysterious character of the doctrine of the Trinity, the exceeding complexity and difficulty of the problem which the Church had to solve in presenting the doctrine that there are three persons and one God, in such a manner as to meet the requirements of Scripture and the conviction of believers, and yet avoid all contradiction, we can hardly fail to refer the Church creeds on this subject, which have for ages secured assent and consent, not to inspiration, strictly speaking, but to the special guidance of the Holy Spirit.[16]

In order to bring the church to an agreement as to the manner in which this fundamental doctrine of Trinity should be stated, the Church Fathers met in 325 at the council of Nicaea. The Creed reads as follows:

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of all things, visible and invisible; And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten from the Father, only-begotten, that is, from the substance of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, of one substance with the Father, through Whom all things came into being, things in heaven and things on earth, Who because of us men and because of our salvation came down and became incarnate, becoming man, suffered and rose again on the third day, ascended to the heavens, and will come to judge the living and dead; And in the Holy Spirit.[17]

Here it was established that the Son is of the same substance with the Father. However, the Nicene Creed did not mention the definite statement concerning Holy Spirit. This is to be accounted for by the fact that the doctrine concerning the deity of Christ was then the subject of controversy. The second Ecumenical Council, which met in Constantinople in A. D. 381, added the following words to the clause, "We believe in the Holy Spirit, " namely; "who is the Lord and giver of life, who proceeded from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets."[18]

The divinity of the Spirit was affirmed with equal explicitness. At this point in the history of Christian faith, believers were given words in which to affirm their belief in God as one, because the Father, the Son and the Spirit have the same nature, as partakers of the single reality of divine being, they are fully divine but only distinct in the sense that each is a different person within that unitary nature.

This distinction between the One and the Three is reflected in the subsequent development of the so-called Athanasian Creed. That Creed reads as follows:

Whoever would be saved, must first of all take care that he hold the Catholic faith, which, except a man preserve whole and inviolate, he shall without doubt perish eternally. But this is the Catholic faith, that we worship one god in trinity, and trinity in unity. Neither confounding the persons not dividing the substance. For the person of the Father is one of the Son, another; of the Holy Spirit, another. But the divinity of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is one, the glory equal, the majesty equal. Such as is the Father, such also is the Son, and such the Holy Spirit. The Father is uncreated, the Son is uncreated, the Holy Spirit is uncreated. The Father is infinite, the Son is infinite, the Holy Spirit is infinite. The Father is eternal, the Son is eternal, the Holy Spirit is eternal. And yet there are not three eternal Beings, but one eternal Being. As also there are not three uncreated Beings, not three infinite Beings, but one uncreated and one infinite Bring. In like manner, the Father is omnipotent, the Son is omnipotent, and the Holy Spirit is omnipotent. And yet, there are not three omnipotent beings, but one omnipotent Being. Thus the Father is God, the Son, God, and the Holy Spirit, God. And yet there are not three Lords, but one Lord only. For as we are compelled by Christian truth to confess each person distinctively to be both God and Lord, we are prohibited by the Catholic religion to say that there are three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made by none, nor created, nor begotten. The Son is from the Father alone, not made, not crated, but begotten. the Holy Spirit is not created by the Father and the Son, not begotten, but proceeds. Therefore, there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits. And in this Trinity there is nothing prior or posterior, nothing greater or less, but all three persons are coeternal, and coequal to themselves. So that through all, as was said above, both unity in trinity, and trinity in unity is to be adored. Whoever would be saved, let him thus think concerning the Trinity.[19]

The doctrine of the Trinity as set forth in these ancient creeds-the Nicene, the Constantinopolitan, and Athanasian (so-called), affirmed the unity and plurality within the Godhead; unity in essence and distinct in person.

Exegetical Analysis, John 1:1

The prologue to John's Gospel (vv.1-18) represents one of the most crucial passages in the Bible and is, without doubt, the definitive exposition of the Person of Christ. John 1:1 emphasizes the incarnate manifestation of God in Christ Jesus. Jesus is called the "Word" (Logos in Greek) "In the beginning was the Word." This unique name of Christ occurs only four times in the New Testament as name (John 1:1, 14; 1 John 1:1; Revelation 19:13) and is utilized only by John the apostle.[20] The verb in this statement is imperfect tense in Greek, which signifies the continuing action in the past time. Literally then, John declares that in the beginning Word existed. He already "was" when beginning took place. He was pre-existent, involved in the act of creation, and therefore superior to all created beings.[21]

The preposition "with" (pros in Greek) in the phrase "the Word was with God" indicates two important facts. First, this makes it abundantly clear that the Word is separate and distinct from God the Father. Second, the Word was enjoying communion and fellowship with another distinct person, God the Father. One cannot identify Him as God the Father because He was "with" God. Christ did not at some point in time come into existence or began a relationship with the Father. In eternity past the Father and the Son have always been in a loving communion with each other.[22]

John concludes the verse with an emphatic statement, "and the Word was God." In the Greek language the important word is placed at the beginning of the sentence and it reads, "God was the Word." The subject and predicate are reversed to underline the deity of the Word. This is a clear, emphatic declaration that the Lord Jesus Christ is God.[23] The omission of the article in this phrase makes this verse mean that the Word had all the qualities of God but not all of God was in the Word. God often function as a proper name, and when a proper name has been used once in a context, it can be used other times without the definite article. Another reason to omit the article is if the noun is functioning as a predicate adjective, giving a quality of the subject. That is probably John's main reason for not including here. That is, John is quite aware that the Word was not all of God. The Father still existed separately after the Word became flesh (John 1:14). The Word's preexistence, distinctiveness, and deity are emphasized in verse 1 of John's Gospel, Chapter 1.[24]

This verse is only one of several verses indicating the fact that Jesus is divine and is distinct from the Father. In verses 33 and 34 of the same chapter, John testifies that he had seen the descent of the Spirit on Jesus and that He is the Son of God. In John's Gospel the title "Son of God" is not applied to believers. They are called "children" while "Son" is used only of Jesus.[25] John 5:19-43 states the fact that Father sends the Son, and Son obeys the Father. He does not act independently apart from the Father's will and purpose. Throughout this Gospel, Jesus continually asserted that His work was to do the will of the Father (4:34; 5:30; 8:28; 12:50; 15:10). This relation reflects distinct personality and the eternal relationship between Father and Son. John presents Him as the perfect agent of the divine purpose and the complete revelation of the divine nature.[26] John 10:30 also underscore the equality of and agreement between the persons. Likewise, in John 11:41-43, Jesus thanks the Father that he heard Him and then goes on to speak of the Father's sending Him. This is part of an ongoing dialogue between the Father and the Son. There is a constant discussion between the Son and the Father, which makes them equal, but at the same time distinguishes them. In the discourse of Christ, recorded in John 14-16, our Lord speaks to and of the Father, and promises to send the Spirit to teach, guide and comfort His disciples. In that discourse the personality and divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are recognized with equal clearness.[27] The prayer of our Lord recorded in John 17 also clearly indicates the distinction of the personality between Father and Son. If Jesus Himself is Father, as modalists believe, it is pointless for Him to address His prayer to the Father. Thus, the Father did not become incarnate in Jesus. This is the thesis John states in His Gospel that Jesus is the eternal God of the ages, and that Jesus and the Father are separate and distinct in personality. This is the truth that John teaches.

Theological Analysis

The event of Jesus' baptism recorded in Matthew 3:16, 17; Mark 1: 9-11; and Luke 3:21-22; is crucial in theology especially in dealing with the heresies of modalism. The presence of Jesus, the presence of Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, and the presence of the voice of the Father from heaven during this event clearly indicate the existence of three distinct persons who are of one essence – God. Here one can observe the simultaneous appearance of each person of the Godhead.[28] This event denies modalism. The idea of God appearing sometimes as one and then the other is proved to be unscriptural.

The trinitarian formula is clear in 1 Peter 1:2 relating to salvation. Salvation is the result of the cooperative purpose and activity of God. The Father's foreknowledge, effected by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit (cf. 2 Thess. 2:13) and based upon the sprinkling of the blood of Christ (cf. Heb. 9:14), produces salvation in man.[29]

According to 1 John 2:1, Jesus continues as our High Priest and Advocate before God the Father. Hebrews 7:25 also states, that He always lives to make intercession for the believers. Therefore, it is necessary that Christ be a person distinct from the Father in order for Him to intercede for Christians before God the Father. Furthermore, if modalism is right, then it must say that all those instances where Jesus is praying to the Father are an illusion.[30]

Christ's promise to send the Holy Spirit after His ascension in John 16:17, also indicate the fact that He is not the Holy Spirit. Following His resurrection, Jesus sent the disciples to baptize “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19) indicating that each person is distinct within the Godhead. If modalism is correct, the doctrine of atonement is also at stake. The idea that God sent His Son as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that the Son bore the wrath of God in our place (Isaiah 53:11), does not make any sense.[31]

Conclusion

In safe guarding the unity of the Godhead, the proponents of modalism were led to instigate that the one and only God present himself in different ways at different times.

This heresy evolved to solve the tension between maintaining monotheism and the deity of Christ. However, it is clear in the Scripture that the members of the Trinity are equal in nature but distinct in person. The Father is God, and so are the Son and the Holy Spirit. Thus, each of the Persons is equally powerful and glorious. Each one is worthy of worship, thanksgiving and praise. Christians should learn to nurture a growing relationship with each Persons of the Trinity, being sensitive about their respective roles in their lives.

मण्डलीको सेवाबारे बुझ्नको लागि बाइबलले मण्डलीको साचो स्वभावको बारेमा दिएको शिक्षालाई मनमा राख्नु अति नै महत्वपूर्ण र आवश्यक रहेको छ । धेरै व्यक्तिहरूले मण्डली भनेको भवन भन्ने कुरा बुझ्छन् तर मण्डली भनेको वास्तवमा अर्थ चाहिँ “परमेश्वरले बोलाउनु भएको मानिसहरुको समूह हो । जो आराधना गर्न र परमेश्वरको उद्देश्य पूरा गर्नको लागि एकै ठाउँमा भेला भएको हुन्छ ।

मण्डली दुई प्रकारको हुन्छ । पहिलो, विश्वब्यापी मण्डली, दोस्रो स्थानीय मण्डली । विश्वव्यापी मण्डली भन्नाले विश्वको प्रत्येक साँचो ख्रीष्टियनशहरुद्धारा मिलेर बनेको र जसलाई ख्रीष्टको देहको रुपमा चिनिन्छ र स्थानीय मण्डली भन्नाले कुनै बिशेष स्थानमा विश्वव्यापी मण्डलीको शारिरीक प्रकटिकरण हो । स्थानीय मण्डलीको सबै विश्वासीहरु एक अर्कामा भेट्ने भएकाले बाइबलले भनेका प्रत्येक विश्वासीहरुलाई भनेका कुराहरु मण्डलीमा सामूहिक रुपमा लागु हुन्छ ।

मण्डली दुई प्रकारको भए पनि मण्डली एक मानिसहरुको समूह हो जसमा परमेश्वरको महिमा दिनको लागि मानिसहरु भेला हुने गर्दछ चाहे त्यो विश्वव्यापी मण्डली होस वा चाहे त्यो स्थानीय मण्डली होस् । बाइबलिय अर्थमा भन्ने हो भने मण्डली भन्नाले हामी विश्वासीहरु हौ जसमा पवित्र आत्मा, परमेश्वर र येश ख्रीष्ट वास गर्नुहुन्छ । मण्डलीको परमेश्वर जो हुनुहुन्छ उहाँप्रतिको भय, आदर गर्नु पर्दछ । मण्डलीमा परमेश्वरको लागि आराधना हुनु पर्दछ ।

मण्डली परमेश्वरको महिमा गर्ने स्थान हो यसैले यहाँ संसारको भन्दा भिन्दै मापदण्ड वा आर्दश हुनु पर्दछ र फरक पद्धतीद्धारा संचालन गर्नु पर्दछ । मण्डली पापबाट अलग भएर परमेश्वरको निम्ति पवित्र हुनु पर्दछ । मण्डली संसारमा धार्मिकता र इमान्दार्रीताको निम्ति असल मर्यादामा कायम राख्नुपर्दछ । यसको साथै ईशाईहरु ख्रीष्टमा विश्वास नगरेकाहरु सँग एउटै जुवामा नारिन हुदैन । मण्डलीले आफ्नो विश्वासीहरुको हेरचाह, देखदेख, फ्रिक्रि र परमेश्वरको प्रेम देखाउनु पर्दछ । यसको साथै सबै भन्दा महत्वपूर्ण कूरा चाहिँ मण्डलीबाट सुसमाचारको कार्यहरु गर्नु पर्दछ । कुनै मण्डलीको अगुवा वा पाष्टरले मात्र दैनिक रुपमा सेवाकाईमा खटिएर बस्नु भनेर बाइबलले सिकाउँदैन तर एक अर्कामा पदीय आधारमा र बरदानको आधारमा कार्यहरुको बिभाजन गरी परमेश्वरको सेवा गर्नु गर्नुपर्दछ । मण्डलीको सेवाकाई गर्ने अगुवाहरुको आर्थिक र भौतिक खाँचो पुरा गरिदिनु पर्दछ । यसको साथै अगुवाहरुलाई उत्साहको साथै पारिवारीक परामर्श पनि दिनुपर्दछ । यसको साथै मण्डलीका मानिसहरुमा भएको दान वरदानहरुहरुलाई चिनस् सठिक स्थानमा प्रयोग गर्नु्हुन्छ ।

मण्डली प्रशासन –एक संरचनात्मक संगठनको रुपमा मण्डली

मण्डली विश्वासीहरुको देहद्धारा बनिएको एउटा जिवित आत्मिकी शरीरको संरचना हो । यो एउटा संरचनात्मक संगठन पनि हो, किनभने सेवाकाईको काम कुनै संरचनाको ढाँचा भित्र नै पर्दछ । तर हामीले यो पनि बु्झ्नु पर्दछ कि संरचनात्मक ढाँचा आफै उद्देश्य होइन तर पूरा गर्ने माध्यम मात्र हो । बाइबलमा हामी कुन चाहिँ मण्डली प्रशासन ढाँचा प्रयोग गर्नु स्पष्ट रुपमा बताएको छैन । मण्डली कुनै सम्प्रदाय वा मिशन–संस्था सँग सम्बिन्धीत हुन्छ तब मण्डली मण्डली प्रशासनको स्वरुप प्राय निश्चित हुन्छ । तर पनि स्थानीय मण्डली स्वतन्त्रता छ भने त्यसलाई कसरस् संचालन गर्ने भन्ने कुरा हामीले धर्मशास्त्रबाट हेर्नु र खोज्नु पर्दछ । संसारमा रहेका बाइबलमा आधारित केही मण्डली प्रशासनहरु निम्नि छन्:

१.धर्माध्यक्षीय वा धर्मतन्त्रीयः

यस प्रशासन व्यवस्थामा बिशषपहरु, एल्डरहरु र डिकनहरु हुनेगर्दछन् । जोहरुको धर्मसत्तामा सुनिश्चित भूमिकाहरु हुन्छ, जस अन्तर्गत बिशपको मूल अधिकार हुन्छ र उसैले मण्डलीमथि शासन गर्छ । विश्वासीहरुले मण्डलीको संरचामबारे थमेरै मात्र केही गर्न वा भन्न पाउछन् । विशपले नै मण्डलीहरुमा एल्डर नियुक्त गर्ने गर्छन् ।

इपिसकोपल प्रणाली अनुसार धेरै विशपहरुमाथी एक आर्च विशपको अख्तियार हुने गर्दछ । विशपहरुको अख्तियार,“धर्म प्रदेश” (Diocese) माथि हुन्छ, जसको अर्थ विशपको अधिकार क्षेत्र भित्रका मण्डलीहरु हो । आर्च विशपहरु, विशपहरु र रेक्टरहरु सबै नै पूरोहितहरु हुन्, कारण तिनीहरु सबैलाई एक पल्ट इपिसकोपलियन पूरोहित पदमा अभिषेश गरिएको थियो (तर व्यवहारमा, रेक्टरलाई प्राय पूरोहित नै भनिन्छ) । (तर पूरोहितलाई (Preytersb) ग्रीकमा एल्डर बुझाउने समानार्थीको रुपमा लिइन्छ भने रोमन क्याथोलिकहरुले पूरोहीत शदलाई बलि चढाउने र मानिसहरुलाई परमेश्वर सामु प्रतिनीधित्व गर्ने कर्तव्य भएको पुरानो करारको पुजाहारीगीरी सित सम्बन्धी गर्दै यो शब्दलाई बेग्लै अर्थमा बुझ्छन् ।)

२.प्रेसव्यटेरियन प्रशासन (Presbyterian Government)

प्रेसव्यटेरियन मण्डली प्रशासन अन्तर्गत एल्डरहरुले नै एक पाष्टर नियुक्त गरेका हुन्छ । एल्डहरु बाट नै एक जना पाष्टर चुन्ने गर्दछ । सभा वा शासन निकायमा भएको एल्डरहरु मध्ये एक जना मण्डलीको पास्टर हुन्छन् जो अख्तियारमा एल्डरहरु समान हुन्छ । यो सभा वा शासन निकायसित स्थानिय मण्डलीलाई शासन गर्ने अख्तियार हुन्छ तर एल्डरहरु प्रशासनिक सभा प्रेसव्यटेरियनका पनि सदस्य हुन्छन् जसको त्यस क्षेत्रमा अनेकौँ मण्डलीहरु माथि अख्तियार हुन्छ । यसबाहेक प्रेसव्यटेरियनका सदस्यहरु मध्ये कतिपय सदस्यहरु,“महासभा” का सदस्यहरु पनि हुन्छन् । जुन सभाको अख्तियार साधारणतया: राष्ट्रका क्षेत्रका सम्पूर्ण मण्डलीहरु माथि हुन्छ ।

३.सामुदायीक मण्डली प्रशासन [Congregational Government ]

Congregational प्रणालीमा एक एल्डर वा पास्टर, बहु संख्याक स्थानिय एल्डरहरु, निगम परिषद्, विशुद्ध प्रजातन्त्र र पवित्र आत्मामा चलेको प्रशासन हो । विश्वासी जनहरु Congregational सर्वत्र पाइने व्यवस्था,“एक एल्डर” रुपमा शासन व्यवस्था हो । यस प्रकारको व्यवस्थामा पास्टरलाई मण्डलीको एल्डरको रुपमा हेरिन्छ अनि त्याहाँ एउटा डिकन मण्डल हुन्छ जसले उनको अख्तियार अधिनस्थ सेवा गर्छन र उनीहरुलाई सहायता गर्छन । यस प्रणालीमा विश्वासी जनहरुले समुदायको पास्टर चुन्छ र डिकनहरु पनि उनीहरुले नै चुन्ने गर्छ । पास्टरको अख्तियार विभिन्न मण्डलीहरुमा भिन्न भिन्नै हुन्छ र पास्टर जति समय सम्म मण्डलीमा बसे त्यति नै मात्रामा त्यो बढ्दछ । डिकनलाई मण्डलकिो सल्लाहको अख्तियार मात्रै दिएको हुन्छ ।

तेस्रो किसिमाको प्रशासन गर्ने तरीकाअनुसार स्थानीय मण्डलीमा एउटै पास्टर वा एल्डरको मुख्य अधिकार हुन्छ । यस्ता मण्डलीका मानिसहरु भन्छन् कि हरेक स्थानीय मण्डली स्वतन्त्र छ । स्थानीय मण्डली भन्छ । वाहिरको कुनै व्यक्तिले त्यस मण्डलीमा अधिकार चलाउनुहुँदैन भन्ने तिनीहरुको विचार छ । यी मण्डलीहरुमा पास्टरलाई सहायता दिन एल्डरहरु र डिकनरु हुन सक्छन तर मुख्य अधिकार चाँहि पास्टरको हातमा हुन्छ ।

यस किसिमको प्रशासन आजका मण्डलीहरुमा धेरे प्रख्यात छ । यसलाई अर्को शब्दमा लोकतान्त्रिक अथवा पश्चिमी तरीकाको प्रशासन पनि भन्ने गरिन्छ । यो प्रजा प्रशासनको तरीकामा, कुनै पनि मुद्दा भए स्थानीय प्रशासनीक मतदान समितिले, प्रशासन परिषद वा एल्डरहरु बादबिवात गरि मतदान द्वारा समस्याको समाधान गर्छन । यी समिति भित्र, बरिष्ठ पास्टरको पनि भूमिका हुन्छ र एउटा मत पाउछन् । एउटा कुनै मुद्दामा, परमेश्वको मानिसले परमेश्वबाट साँच्चै सुनको हो कि होइन निश्चित गर्न स्थानीय मण्डलीको मतदान समितिद्वारा निर्णय हुन्छ । पास्टरले परमेश्वरबाट सुन्नै पर्छ भन्ने छैन तर मानिसको कुराचाहिँ पक्कै सुन्नु पर्छ ।

अधिकाशं मण्डलीहरुले प्रशासनमा एक वा एकभन्दा बढी यो मुख्य स्वरुपहरु मिसिएको पाइन्छ । प्राय कुनै किसिमको साम्प्रदायिक विशेष संरचना वा संस्था हुन्छ जसले स्थानीय मण्डलीलाई निरीक्षण र देखदेख गर्दछ । तर स्वरुप, बनोट जस्तै भए पनि वा मण्डली प्रशासन जस्तै भए पनि बाइबलको दृष्टिकोणबाट आलोचनात्मक विचारहरु भने हुने गर्दछ । तर पनि सके सम्म मण्डलीको स्वरुप र कार्यक्रमहरुले बाइबलको कार्य र सिद्धान्तहरु अनुसरण गरेको हुनपर्दछ ।

मण्डलीमा भएको सिद्धान्तहरु पवित्र छन् तर परमपराहरु पवित्र छैनन् । किनकि मण्डलीको सिद्धान्तले हामीलाइै परमेश्वरको बारमो बुझ्न अझै मदत गर्दछ भने सिद्धान्तले हामीलाई परमेश्वरलाई भन्दा परमपरालाई बढी प्रथमिकता दिई परमेश्वरबाट टाढा लैजान्छ , यसैले यसको लागि मण्डलीका बिभिन्न तहमा रही परमेश्वको सेवा गर्ने व्यत्तिहरु हुनु पर्दछ ।

पाष्टर मण्डलीको एक बिशेष व्यक्ति हो । जो कोही पाष्टर हुन पाउदैन । यसको लागि केही कुराहरु हुनु पर्दछ ति हुन १.परमेश्वरबाट बोलाबट पाएको, २.तालिम लिएको, ३.सेवकको स्वभाव भएको, ४.बचन अध्ययन गरेको र सत्य बचन प्रचार गर्ने, ५.अगुवामा हुनुपर्ने गुण हुनु पर्दछ, ६.नेतृत्व गर्ने क्षमता भएको, ७.प्रचार गर्न र शिक्षा दिन सक्ने हुनुपर्दछ । पाष्टरले आफ्नो चेलाहरुको हेरचाह राम्रो सँग गर्नु पर्दछ । पाष्टर आफ्नो निम्ति होइन तर अरुको निम्ति वा सेवकरुपमा आफ्नो जीवन सर्मपन गरेको हुनु पर्दछ । स्वर्थ पूर्ण तरिकाले होइन तर सेवाभाव सहित परमेश्वरको सेवा गर्ने हुनुर्दछ । प्रार्थना, बाइबल अध्ययन, आरधाना र परमेश्वरको निम्ति समय छुट्याउनु पर्दछ ।

पाष्टर लगाएत मण्डलीमा एल्डर, डिकन, बालसंगतीका शिक्षकहरु, जवान अगुवाहरु, आराधनाको अगुवा, दिदि बहिनीको अगुवा, आर्थिक कारोबार सम्हाने समूह आदी मण्डलीमा हुनु पर्दछ जसले गर्दा मण्डली अझै बृस्तृत रुपमा बढ्दै जान्छ । यसको समथै मण्डलीमा महिला दिदि बहिनीहरुलाई पनि अगाडी बढाउनु पर्दछ । उहाँहरुलाई पनि माथिका पदहरुमा बरदान अनुसा राख्नु पर्दछ । चाहे त्यो पाष्टर वा कुनै पनि स्थानमा किन नहोस् । जसले गर्दा अरु बाहिरको मानिसहरुले हेर्दा पनि हामीहरुमा ईश्वरत्व झल्कियोस् । हुनत यसमा सम्प्रदमयिक कुरामा पनि निर्भर हसन्छ किनकि कति पय सम्प्रदाय र मण्डलीहरुले दिदि बहिनीलाई यस्ता पदहरुमा बरदान भएता पनि राख्दैन कारण उनीहरु सक्दैन भन्ने सोच रहेको छ । मण्डलीमा सबै कुराहरु यसरी व्यवस्थापन गरेमा मण्डली सुव्यवस्थित हुन जान्छ । मण्डलीमा विश्वासीहरुलाई बाइबल सम्बन्धी शिक्षा दिने अनुभवी, शिक्षित शिक्षक पनि मण्डलीमा हुन आवश्वक छ । तर यी सबै ठूलो वा अलि धेरै जनसंख्या भएको मण्डलीमा हुने गर्दछ तर साना मण्डलीहरुका सबै कार्य पाष्टर वा एल्डर वा अगुवाले नै गर्ने गर्दछ ।

Can We Lost Our Salvation?

What think of the Biblical theologians and what does the Bible say?

"A genuine born-again Christian cannot lose salvation. God has fulfilled His promise of salvation through His Son. God has the authority to secure salvation of His beloved children through the sanctifying work of His Spirit."[1] A Christian life is new creation. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"[2] And this new creation have enteral life because Jesus Christ says "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them of my hand."[3] Also He Says, "For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” "[4] Here Jesus is saying that everyone who believes in him will be saved. Jesus did not say that some people could not be saved. Because He says, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."[5] Here, too, Jesus is saying that those who follow him will receive everlasting life. Apostol Paul says, "And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified."[6] Yet Paul says that there is no punishment for those who are in Christ.[7] When a person is saved by believing in Jesus, he is forgiven of all his sins. When Jesus died, He paid the penalty for all sin. But the past is a sin, whether it is a present or a future sin. The Lord Jesus is the atonement for all sins. When he died, we did not sin because we were not born. Yet he died for our sins and paid the ransom for all our sins. God is the Judge. We find no sin in punishing believers and throwing them into eternal darkness, because the Lord Jesus paid the price for all these sins when He died on the cross. Steve Lawson says "Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty.”[8] Salvation is not something we earn by working ourselves. Salvation is a free gift from God to mankind. If this salvation is given by God, there is no possibility of losing salvation. As in other religions, salvation could be lost only by doing good deeds, but the Bible clearly states that to do salvation one does not have to do anything but believe in Jesus.

Salvation is accomplished by the almighty power of the triune God. The Father chose a people, the Son died for them, the Holy Spirit makes Christ's death effective by bringing the elect to faith and repentance, thereby causing them to willingly obey the Gospel. The entire process (election, redemption, regeneration) is the work of God and is by grace alone. Thus God, not man, determines who will be the recipients of the gift of salvation.[9]

If salvation is a gift from God, does anyone give it back? There is no such example in the world. "The New Testament is full of evidence that we cannot lose our salvation. Jesus said that the new life we have is eternal, not temporal, and we will never die."[10] Luke says "nor die anymore. They are the same as the angels. They are God's children who have come back to life."[11] Similarly, about 13 Bible books writers, the apostle Paul, argue that salvation is not lost. He says "In whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory."[12] Again, he says, our call and gift will never be lost. "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."[13] Similarly, the author of the book of Hebrews says that God will never leave us "…I will never leave you nor forsake you."[14] Because we are safe in God's power, says the writer as well as the apostle Peter "who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."[15] Again the author of the book of Hebrews says that "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."[16] Jesus Christ also wanted to save everyone because He said "And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day."[17]

Karl Barth says "No one can be saved in virtue of what he can do. Everyone can be saved in virtue of what God can do"[18] So the Bible also makes it clear that salvation is not a man's work, but a gift from God's grace to mankind. If we believe that the gift of grace is lost, what else can we expect from God? That is, we say that our salvation can never be lost. Rick Warren is a successful Christian writer He also said that "Through salvation our past has been forgiven, our present is given meaning, and our future is secured."[19] Various theologians, writers and Christian scholars believe that salvation is not lost because it is not man's teaching or doctrine but the truth of the Bible. One-time security is security forever. Bill Graham, the world's greatest Christian evangelist, also says that salvation is a free gift from God. He said "Salvation is free, but discipleship costs everything we have."[20] Tom Smith give four reasons we can't lose our salvation.[21]

1. The eternal life the Lord gives us will never run out. (John 1:12-13)

2. The hands of the Father and the Son will never fail. (John 10:28-29)

3. God’s eternal will that initiated our salvation will never change. (Ephesians 1:4-5)

4. Christ’s promise to never cast us out and to keep us cannot be broken. (John 6:37-39)

Two common objections to the belief that a Christian cannot lose salvation concern these experiential issues: 1) What about Christians who live in a sinful, unrepentant lifestyle? 2) What about Christians who reject the faith and deny Christ? The problem with these objections is the assumption that everyone who calls himself a “Christian” has actually been born again. The Bible declares that a true Christian will not live a state of continual, unrepentant sin (1 John 3:6). The Bible also says that anyone who departs the faith is demonstrating that he was never truly a Christian (1 John 2:19). He may have been religious, he may have put on a good show, but he was never born again by the power of God. “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16). The redeemed of God belong “to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God” (Romans 7:4).[22]

१. Dr. Ray H. Hughes भन्नु हुन्छ “येशू नाम सबैभन्दा उत्कृष्ट नाम हो, यो नाम हरेक नाम भन्दा माथि छ ।”[1]

२. ईश्वरशास्त्री लेविस चाफर भन्नु हुन्छ, “पृथ्वीमा कसैलाई पाप क्षमा गर्ने अधिकार छैन न त उसको हैसियत नै छ । कसैले क्षमा दिएको पापले उहाँलाई बचाउँन सक्दैन जसको विरुद्धमा सबैले पाप गरेका छन् । जब येशूले निश्चित रुपमा पापको क्षमा दिनुभयो उहाँले मानवीय अधिकारको अभ्यास गर्दै हुनुहुन्थेन । परमेश्वरले मात्रै पापको क्षमा दिन सक्ने भएकोले निष्कर्षमा यो प्रस्ट छ कि ख्रीष्टले पापको क्षमा गर्नुभएकोले उहाँ परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँ परमेश्वर हुनुभएकोले अनन्त हुनुहुन्छ ।”[2]

३. ख्रीष्टियन रक्षाशास्त्री साथै शिक्षक कमल अधिकारी लेख्छन्,“येशू मात्र एक यस्तो व्यक्तित्व हुनुहुन्छ जसमा मानवीय ईश्वरीय दुवै स्वाभावहरु थिए । उहाँ परमेश्वर–मानव हुनुहुन्थ्यो । पवित्र धर्मशास्त्र बाइबलको साक्षीअनुसार उहाँ आधा मानिस आधा परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्न, तर र्पूर्ण मानिस र पूर्ण परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ ।”[3]

४. लेखक, जुडी वार्टेल द्वारा संकलित राल्फ एम.रीग्स् , आफ्नो पुस्तकमा लेख्छन्, “येशू ख्रीष्ट अदृश्य परमेश्वरको दृश्य रुप हुनुहुन्छ । हामीले उहाँलाई अझै बुझ्न सकौँ र हाम्रा निम्ति भएको उहाँको उद्धारको योजनालाई सिक्नसकौँ भनेर उहाँ मानिस बन्नुभयो । उहाँले मानव बन्नलाई रोज्नुभएको हुनाले अब एउटै व्यक्ति येशूमा ईश्वरीय र मानव गरी दुई स्वभावहरु छन् ।”[4]

५. सुव्यवस्थित ईश्वरशास्त्रका लेखक वेन ग्रुडम लेख्छन्, “नयाँ करारले सयौँ प्रस्टै पदहरुमा येशूलाई “परमेश्वर” र “प्रभु” भन्छ अनि उहाँतिर इङ्गित गर्नलाई अरु धेरै उपाधिहरु प्रयोग गर्छ अनि परमेश्वर स्वयम्बारे मात्र सत्य हुनजाने क्रियाकलाप र वचनहरुको श्रेय उहाँलाई दिन्छ र त्यसरी येशू ख्रीष्ट पूर्ण र परम परमेश्वरत्वलाई पुष्टि गर्छ ।”[5]

६.लेखक, एल्टर जी.हिल, आफ्नो पुस्तकमा लेख्छन्, “येशू ख्रीष्ट मानव बन्दैमा उहाँबाट परमेश्वरीय अस्तित्व हटेको थिएन । मानिस हुँदा पनि परमेश्वरको पुत्र परमेश्वर नै हुनुहुन्थ्यो । मानिसको पुत्र बनेर एकै व्यक्तिमा उहाँले मानव स्वभाव र ईश्वरीय स्वभाव धारण गर्नुभयो । यसैले येशू ख्रीष्ट साँचो परमेश्वर र साँचो मानिस हुनुहुन्छ ।”[6]

७. जीन–बप्तिस्टे स्वाडोगो र मारसीया ए कङ्गर लेख्छन्, “येशू ख्रीष्ट मानिसले बुझ्न प्रकारमा दिइएको परमेश्वरको कारण, इच्छा उद्देश्यको पूर्ण वर्णन हुनुहुहुन्छ र ख्रीष्ट मानिससँग कुरा गर्ने परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ ।”[7]

८.अगस्टिन– “मैले प्लेटो र सिसेरोको भनाईहरु पढेको छु, जुन ज्ञानी र अति धेरै सुन्दर छ तर मैले उनीहरूको पुस्तकमा यो कहिल्यै पढिन ‘हे सबै थोकका र बोझले दबेका हो म कहाँ आओ ।’”[8] सबै थोकेका र बोझले दबेकाहरुलाई बिश्राम चाहिँ परमेश्वर बाहेक अरु कसैले दिन सक्दैन ।

९.सी.एस लुइस “जतिसुकै अनौठो भयपूर्ण र अविश्वासनीय नै लागे पनि येशू परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो र हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने तथ्यलाई मैले स्वीकार गर्नु नै पर्छ ।”[9] (उनी ख्रीष्टियान रक्षाशास्त्री हुन् । उनी ख्रीष्टियान हुनु भन्दा अघि नास्तिक थिए र बाइबल र ख्रीष्टियान आलोचक थिए ।)

१०. लेखक निक्की गम्बेल लेख्छन्, “वास्तवमै हो, उहाँ आफू परमेश्वर हुँ भन्दै जताततै दौडनु भएन । तथापि उहाँले सिकाएका शिक्षा र गरेका कामलाई गौर गरेर हेर्ने हो भने येशू आफ्नो ईश्वरत्वप्रति सदैव सचेत रहनुभएको तथ्य सबैले स्पष्ट देख्नेछन् ।”[10]

११. लेखक डेरेक विल्यम्स लेख्छन्, येशू पुत्र हुनु भए तापनि उहाँ पिताद्धारा सृष्टि गरिनुभएको व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्न वा पिताभन्दा निम्नस्तरको हुनुहुन्न । यसको बिपरीत उहाँ परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ अनि पितामा जस्तै स्वभाव उहाँमा पनि छ ।[11]

१२.लेखक डोल रोटन भन्छन्, “येशू परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ अनि सधै जीवित हुनुहुन्छ । तर पनि इतिहासको कुनै एक निश्चित समयमा उहाँले मावन रुप लिनुभयो । अनि परमेश्वरको शक्तिद्धारा कन्या मरियमको कोखबाट जन्मिनु भयो । उहाँले एक पाप रहित जीवन जीउनु भयो। जो उहाँको शत्रुहरुले उहाँलाई क्रूसमा टाँग्दा अचानक समाप्त भयो । उहाँलाई गाडेको तीन दिन पश्चात उहाँ पुनर्जीवित हुनुभयो । चालिस दिन पछि स्वर्गपर्फ उठाइनु भयो ।”[12]

तसर्थ, निष्कर्षमा येशू शत प्रतिशत मानिस हुनुहुन्थ्यो र शत प्रतिशत परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो तापनि उहाँ एक व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्थ्यो । “येशू पूर्ण रुपमा मानिस र पूर्ण रुपमा परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो, अनि उहाँको मानव स्वभाव पूर्ण रुपमा मानव नै रहयो र उहाँको परमेश्वरीय स्वभाव पूर्ण रुपमा परमेश्वरीय नै रहयो ।[13]” येशू यस पृथ्वीमा रहनु हुदाँ पाप रहित जीवन बिताउँनु भयो । यस बिषयमा विल्बर स्मिथ भन्छन्, “येशूले यस धर्तीमा एक करोड पचास लाख मिनेटको जीवन बिताउनुभयो । उहाँले आफ्नो जीवन दुष्ट र भ्रष्ट पुस्ताको बिचमा बिताउनुभयो । तरै पनि पृथ्वीमा जन्म लिनुभएदेखि क्रुसमा प्राण त्याग नगरुन्जेलसम्म उहाँको हरेक विचार, हरेक कार्य, हरेक उद्देश्य, हरेक काम जुन व्यक्तिगत रुपमा गरिएका हुन् वा सार्वजनिक रुपमा गरिएका हुन् ती सबै नै परमेश्वरद्वारा अनुमोदित थिए । एकै पटक पनि हाम्रा प्रभुले पापको स्वीकार गर्नभएन किनकि उहाँमा कुनै पाप थिएन ।”[14] यसैकारण येशू परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो अनि मानिस पनि भएर बाँच्नु भयो र मानिस नै भई रहनु हुन्छ तर पनि उहाँ एक व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्छ ।

“Marriage is created by God as lifelong institution between a man and a woman, rooted in creation, with a significance that shows in its comparison to Christ’s relationship with the church (Ephesians 5:22-33).”[1] A marriage is legally and socially sanctioned union. It’s usually between a man and a woman, it is regulated by laws, rules, customs, beliefs, and attitudes that prescribe the rights and duties of the partners and accords status to their offspring. The universality of marriage within different societies and cultures is attributed to the many basic social and personal functions for which it provides structure, sexual gratification and between the sexes, economic production and consumption, and satisfaction of personal needs for affection, status, and companionship.[2] So, Marriage is Man or women legally and socially sanctioned union there different entities, based on cultural, religious, and personal factors. Married also gives to sexual relations and morals and civilization. Merriam-Webster dictionary say about marriage, “the state of being united as spouses in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law”[3]

Christian marriage:

Marriage is a kind of divine blessing given by God. It is the kind of relationship that unites men and women from two different backgrounds. Marriage is a fact that unites a man and [4]a woman. The book of Genesis says” And they shall become one flesh.”[5]A Christian marriage is a marriage which has been instituted and functions according to biblical principles. It is a marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4,5) . In a Christian marriage there is no room for multiple wives or husbands. Neither is a ‘marriage’ between two men or women a marriage according to biblical principles. A Christian marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.[6]

नयाँ करारमा धेरै पटक ख्रीष्टलाई धेरै खण्डहरुमा दाऊदको पुत्र भनी उल्लेख गरिएको छ । नयाँ करारको पहिलो पुस्तकको पहिलो अध्यायको पहिलो पदमा नै येशूलाई दाऊदको पुत्र भनी सम्बोधन गरिएको छ । “अब्राहामको पुत्र, दाऊदको पुत्र, येशू ख्रीष्टको वंशावली :” मत्ती १२:२३, मत्ती १५:२२, मत्ती २१:९, मर्कूस १०:४८, मर्कूस १२:३५, यूहन्ना ७:४२, रोमी १:३, २ तिमोथी २:८, प्रकाश ५:५ आदी खण्डहरुमा येशू ख्रीष्टलाई दाऊदको पुत्रको नाम चिनाइएको छ । “किनकि येशू मानव इतिहासको सबै भन्दा बढी प्रभावकारी व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्छ । शताब्दीऔँ देखी उहाँको नाम सर्वव्यापी भएकोमा छक्क मान्नु पर्दैन । संसारका सबै संस्कृतिका मानिसहरुलाई थाहा छ येशू को हुनुहुन्छ र उहाँले गर्नुभएको कार्यद्वारा परिवर्तन गर्नुभयो । नयाँ करारमा येशू नामले त्यति नचिनिएकोले हल्का छक्का लाग्दो कुरा हुन सक्छ । तर आश्चर्य लाग्दो कुरा धेरै पटक मानिसहरुले बिशेष शिर्षकहरुमा उहाँको नाम प्रयोग गरेका छन् । ती नामहरु मध्ये एक हो, दाऊदको पुत्र ।”[1] “नयाँ करारका येशूलाई १४ पटक “दाऊदको पुत्र” भनी सम्बोधन गरिएको छ । १२ पटक चाहिँ मुख्य रुपमा प्रयोग गरिएको छ भने २ पटक चाहिँ मुख्य रुपमा प्रयोग गरिएको छैन (मत्ती १:१, १२:२३) बाइबलमा छोराको धेरै अर्थहरु हुन सक्छ । यसले शारीरिक रुपमा जन्मेको छोरालाई पनि बुझाउन सक्छ वा संसारीक बुबाको हालमा भएको छोरा पनि बुझाउन सक्छ र त्यस भन्दा अरु पनि बुझाउन सक्छ । सिधा रुपमा बुझ्ने हो भने छोरा हुनको लागि वंशज अनुसारको हुनु पर्दछ । योसेफ, जो मरिएको श्रीमान हुन् उनीलाई पनि दाऊदको पुत्र भनिएको छ (मत्ती १:२०) । यसको अर्थ यही हुन्छ कि योसेफ दाऊदको वंशका मानिस थिए र दाऊद योसेफका पूर्खा थिए । यो पनि सत्य हो कि मरियम पनि दाऊदकै वंशका थिए (लूका ३) अनुसार हेर्दा येशू दाऊदका पुत्र थिए ।”[2] “मत्तीले दाऊदको घरनाका योसेफको वंशावली पछ्याएर येशू दाऊदका वैधानिक सन्तान हुनुभएको पुष्टि गरेका छन् । यद्यपी येशू पवित्र आत्माद्वारा गर्भाधान हुनुभएको भए तापनि यहाँ औपचारिक रुपमा योसेफका पुत्र । वैधानिक रुपमा दाऊदका पुत्रका रुपमा दर्ता गरिनुभएको थियो । लूकाले लेखेका वंशावली (लूका ३:२३) येशूको वंशावली मरियमको वंशका पुरुषलाई पछ्याएर तयार गरिएको छ (तिनी पनि दाऊदको वंशबाट थिइन्) । लूकाले येशू मरियमका मासु र रगत (अर्थात–सन्तान) भनी जोड दिएका छन् र त्यसैले उहाँ हामीमध्ये एक हुनुहुन्छ । यसरी, सुसमाचारका लेखकहरुले वैधानिक र जन्मजात दुवै हिसाबले येशूको मसीह हुने अधिकार भएको दाबी गरेका छन् ।”[3]

येशु ख्रीष्टलाई बाइबलमा दाउदको पुत्र भनी उल्लेख गरिएको छ । पुरानो करारमा परमेश्वरले दाउद राजा सँग करार बाध्नु भएको बमोजिम नै येशु ख्रीष्टको जन्म भएको थियो । येशु ख्रीष्टलाई अनन्तको सिंहासनमा बस्नको लागि अधिकार छ भनी भनिएको छ (२ शमूएल ७:१६) । “२ शमुएल ७ मा “करार” शब्द उल्लेख नगरिएको भए तापनि परमेश्वरले दाऊदसँग करार स्थापना गरिरहुनभएको थियो भन्ने कुरा २ शमूएल ७:१६ ले स्पष्ट पार्छ । उदाहरणको लागि भजनसंग्रह ८९:३–४ मा परमेश्वर भन्नुहुन्छ, “मैले मेरो चुनेकोसँग करार बाँधेको छु, मेरो दास दाऊदसित मैले यो शपथ खाएको छुः म तेरो सन्तानलाई सदाको निम्ति स्थापना गर्नेछु र तेरो सिंहासन सारा पुस्तासम्म स्थिर बनाउँनेछु ”। परमेश्वरका मानिसहरुका सिंहासन दाऊदका सन्तानबाट सदाको निम्ति स्थापना गर्नेछु भन्ने यो प्रतिज्ञा परमेश्वरले दाऊदसित २ शमूएल ७ मा गर्नुभएको प्रतिज्ञा थियो भन्ने स्पष्ट हुन्छ । साथै पछि दाऊदले २ शमूएलमा आफूसित परमेश्वरले “अनन्त करार” बाँध्नुभएको थियो भन्ने सन्दर्भमा उल्लेख गर्छन् । (२ शमूएल २३:५), निःसन्देह त्यस सन्दर्भले २ शमूएल ७ को विषयमा बताउँछ ।”[4] “दाऊदको राज्य सदाको निम्ति स्थिर रहनेछ भन्ने दाऊदसँग परमेश्वरको करारको एउटा पक्ष शर्तरहित थियो ।

१.परमेश्वरको प्रतिज्ञाको मुख्य कुरा दाऊदको वंशबाट मसीह र अनन्तका राजा आउनुहुने थियो । यी राजाले इस्राएलका विश्वासयोग्यहरु र सारा जातिहरुमाथि शासन गर्नुहुने थियो (यशैया ९:६–७, ११:१,१०, मीका ५:२,४) । उहाँ बेथलेहेम शहरमा जन्मनु हुनेथियो (मीका ५:२,४), र उहाँको राज्य सारा पृथ्वीभरी विस्तार हुने थियो (जकरिया ९:१०) । उहाँ “परमप्रभु हाम्रा धार्मिकता” कहलाइनुहुनेछ (यर्मिया २३:५–६) र उहाँले पापबाट उद्धार ल्याउनुहुनेछ (जकरिया १३:१) । दाऊदलाई दिएको प्रतिज्ञा येशू ख्रीष्टको जन्मबाट पूरा हुन सुरु भयो, उहाँको जन्मको विषयमा दाऊदका घरनाकी भक्त छोरी मरियमलाई गब्रिएल स्वर्गदूतले बताएका थिए (लूका १:३०–३३, प्रेरित २:२९–३५) ।

२.यो प्रतिज्ञा उत्पति ३:१५ मा दिइएको करारको विस्तार थियो, जसमा हव्वाको सन्तानद्वारा शैतानको हारको विषयमा भविष्यवाणी गरिएको थियो । साथै यो अब्राहाम र तिनका सन्तानलाई दिइएको प्रतिज्ञाको निरन्तरता थियो ।

३. यो प्रतिज्ञाचाहिँ मृत्युबाट येशूको पुनरुत्थान र स्वर्गमा परमेश्वरको दाहिने बाहुलीपट्टि उहाँ विराजमान हुनु भएको घटनामा पूरा भएको थियो (प्रेरित २:२९–३३), जहाँबाट अहिले उहाँले राजाहरुका राजा र प्रभुहरुका प्रभुको रुपमा राज्य गर्नुहुन्छ । उच्च पारिनुभएको प्रभुको रुपमा ख्रीष्टको पहिलो काम आफ्ना मानिसहरु माथि पवित्र आत्मा खन्याउनु थियो (प्रेरित १:८, २:४,३३)

४.सबै मानिसहरुलाई पापबाट पश्चतापसहित फर्केर ख्रीष्टलाई प्रभु र उद्धारकर्ताको रुपमा ग्रहण गर्न र पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त गर्न दिइएको बोलावट ख्रीष्टको राज्यकीय राज्यको चित्रण गरेको छ ।

५.ख्रीष्टको अनन्त राज्यसत्तामा निम्नि कुराहरु समाहित छन्ः

क.परमेश्वरको राज्यमाथि उहाँको वर्तमान शासकत्व र मण्डलीमाथि उहाँको शिरत्व

ख. जातिहरुमाथि उहाँको हजार वर्षको भावी राज्य (प्रकाश २:२६–२७, २०:४) र

ग.नयाँ स्वर्ग र नयाँ पृथ्वीमा उहाँको अनन्त राज्य (प्रकाश २१–२२ अध्याय) ।”[5]

पन्तियस पिलातसको औँठीः[1]

केही विद्धानहरुले येशूको ऐतिहासिक प्रमाणलाई मात्र अस्वीकार गरेनन् तर रोमी शासक पन्तियस पिलातसको ऐतिहासिकतामा पनि शंका गरेका थिए । पछिल्लो समयमा पुरातत्वविद्या सम्बन्धी खोजहरुले ती विद्धानहरुको यस कुरालाई अप्रमाणित गरिदिएको छ । “पिलातस रोमी प्रान्त यहूदामाथि ख्रिस्टाब्द २६–३६ सम्म बडाहामिक थिए ।”[2] पुरातत्वविद्याका खोजहरूबाट आलोचकहरूको मुख बन्द मात्र गरेको छैन तर धेरै व्यक्तिहरूले परमेश्वर माथि भरोसा पनि गरेका छन् । ख्रिस्टाब्द १९६१ म ‘पिलातसको ढुङ्गा’ को खोजले आलोचकहरुको मुख बन्द गरेको हो । अझै यस्तै पिलातसको अर्को ऐतिहासिकता प्रमाणित गर्ने खोज पत्ता लागेको छ जसलाई ‘ पन्तियस पिलातसको औँठी’ भनेर नामकरण गरिएको छ । हेरोडिएममा उत्खन्न गर्दा पुराना औठी जस्तो केही बस्तु भेटियो पछि यसलाई अनुसन्धान गर्दा त्यो औँठीमा चित्र र पिलातस नाम कुदेको पाइयो । यस खोजलाई इस्राएल अन्वेक्षण लेखको अन्तिम अंकको र्शीर्षक अन्तर्गत घोषणा गरिएको थियो । इस्राएलमा पन्तियस पिलातसको बारेमा पत्ता लागेको यो दोस्रो पुरातत्वक सामाग्री हो जसले पन्तियस पिलातस वास्तवमा नै ऐतिहासिक व्यक्ति थिए भन्ने प्रमाण दिदछ । यस औँठी पिलातसको होइन भन्ने केही व्यक्तिहरूले दावी गरेका पनि थिए तर पछि यो औँठी पन्तियस पिलातसको नै हो भन्ने प्रमाणित भएको थियो । पन्तियस पिलातसको यस औँठी दक्षिणी बेथलेहेमको वेस्ट ब्याङ्क मा फेला पारेका थिए । यस औठीमा क्रेटर भनिने वाइन भाडाको परिपरि ग्रीक भाषमा ‘पिलातस को’ लेखिएको थियो ।

प्राय विश्वका प्रमुख धर्महरुले[1] र झुटा शिक्षाका समुहहरुले येशूको ईश्वरत्वको सिद्धान्तलाई इन्कार गर्छन् । जसले दाबी गर्दछ कि येशूको ईश्वरत्व चौथो शताब्दीमा नाइसरिया परिषद्बाट प्रमाणित गरेको हो ।[2] र सुरुका मण्डलीहरुले येशूको ईश्वरत्वमा विश्वास गरेका थिएनन ।[3] येशू ख्रीष्टको जीवनलाई गहन रुपमा अध्ययन गर्दछौँ भने येशू ख्रीष्ट मानिस मात्र हुनुहन्न भन्ने तथ्य निस्कन्छ । उहाँलाई मानवको रुपमा मात्र सिमित राख्न मिल्दैन । उहाँले गर्नुभएको कार्यहरु, उहाँका दाबीहरु, उहाँका चेलाहरुका परिवर्तनहरु, उहाँका शिक्षाहरुले उहाँलाई मानिसमा मात्र सिमित राख्न सकिदैन । येशूको सम्पूर्ण जीवनीलाई गहिरो रुपमा अध्ययन गर्छौँ भने एउटा निष्कर्षमा पुग्छौँ त्यो हो, येशू मानव मात्र होइन तर परमेश्वर पनि हुनुहुन्छ । ईश्वरशास्त्री वेन ग्रुडम भन्छन्, “येशू ख्रीष्टबारे बाइबलीय शिक्षा पूरा गर्नलाई, उहाँ पूर्ण रुपमा मानिस मात्र होइन, तर उहाँ पूर्ण रुपमा परमेश्वरीय पनि हुनुहुन्थ्यो भनी हामी पुष्टि गर्नैपर्दछ ।”[4] यसैले येशू मानवको रुपमा संसारमा आउँनु भयो तापनि उहाँ पूर्ण रुपमा मानव रुपी जीवनमा ईश्वरीय जीवन जिउनु भयो ।

प्रभु येशू ख्रीष्ट सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ भनेर म साँच्चै विश्वास गर्दछु भने निश्चय म उहाँलाई दण्डवत् गर्नेछु, उहाँलाई प्रेमपूर्वक भक्ति चढाउँनेछु । उहाँ प्रभु हुनुहुन्छ भनेर म साँच्चै विश्वास गर्दछु भने, म उहाँको सेवा गर्नेछु र उहाँका आज्ञाहरू पालन गर्नेछु । येशू झूटा हुन् भन्ने व्यक्तिले के उहाँमाथि भरोसा राख्न सक्छ वा उहाँका वचनमाथि विश्वास गर्न सक्छ ? येशू पागल हुन् भन्ने व्यक्तिले के उहाँलाई मुक्तिदाताको रूपमा विश्वास गर्न सक्छ ? उहाँलाई असल गुरु मात्र मान्नेले उहाँका भनाइलाई सुन्नेछ तर उसले अन्य शिक्षकहरूका भनाइलाई पनि सुन्नेछ र विश्वास गर्नेछ । ख्रीष्टलाई भविष्यवक्ता मात्र मान्नेले परमेश्वरको बाटो देखाउने अन्य भविष्यवक्ताहरूलाई पनि उत्तिकै मान्यता दिनेछ । येशू २००० वर्ष अघि मर्नुभएको केवल एउटा मानिस मात्र हुनुहुन्थ्यो भने उहाँ मरेको मरै हुनुभयो र उहाँले कसैको जीवनमा खास परिवर्तन ल्याउन सक्नुहुन्न ।[5]

डोल रोटन भन्छन्, “येशू परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ अनि सधै जीवित हुनुहुन्छ । तर पनि इतिहासको कुनै एक निश्चित समयमा उहाँले मावन रुप लिनुभयो । अनि परमेश्वरको शक्तिद्धारा कन्या मरियमको कोखबाट जन्मिनु भयो । उहाँले एक पाप रहित जीवन जीउनु भयो ।”[6] वास्तवमा येशूको ईश्वत्वलाई ख्रीष्टियानहरुले स्वीकारको कारण यो हो कि धर्मशास्त्रले नै येशूको ईश्वरत्वको निष्कर्षमा पुराउँछ । बाइबलले स्पष्ट बताउँछ कि यदि हामीले येशूको ईश्वरुत्वलाई इन्कार गछौँ भने हामीहरुसँग पिता परमेश्व पनि हुनहुन्न् । १यूहन्ना २:२३ ले भन्छ, “पुत्रलाई इन्कार गर्ने कुनै मानिसमा पिता हुनुहुन्न । जसले पुत्रलाई स्वीकार गर्छ, त्यससँग पिता हुनुहुन्छ ।”[7]

यूहन्ना १:१ अनुसार आदिमा बचन हुनुहुन्थ्यो, बचन परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो, अनि बचन परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो । यहाँ बचन परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो भन्नुको अर्थ हो कि येशू पनि परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ । यहाँ येशूलाई बचनको रुपमा प्रस्तुत गरिएको छ । यही बचन नै हाम्रो येशु ख्रीष्ट हुनुहुन्छ (यशैया ५५:११,प्रकाश १९:१३)। येशू कुनै संयोग वा आश्चर्यपूर्ण तरिकाले परमेश्वर हुनु भएको होइन तर उहाँलाई परमेश्वरको दर्जा बाइबलले नै दिने गर्दछ ।

यूहन्ना ८:४२ ले भन्दछ, “...किनभने म परमेश्वरबाट निस्कआएँ ।” । यस्तै कलस्सी १:१५ मा लेखिएको छ, “सारा सृष्टिको ज्येष्ठ हुनुहुन्छ ।” हिब्रू १:५ “तिमी मेरा पत्रु हौँ, मैले नै आज तिमीलाई जन्माएको छुँ... आफ्नो प्रथम जन्मेकालाई संसारमा ल्याउनुहुदाँ उहाँ फेरी भन्नुहुन्छ, ।” के यी पदहरुले येशूको सुरुवात छ भन्न खोजेको हो त ?

कलस्सी १:१५ “सार सृष्टिका ज्येष्ठ हुनुहुन्छ ।” “यो वाक्यांशको अर्थ ख्रीष्ट सृष्टि गरिनुभएको थियो भन्ने लाग्दैन । बरु, “ज्येष्ठ” भन्नाले पुरानो करारको अर्थ छः “ओहोदामा पहिलो,” “उत्तराधिकारी” वा “सर्वाेच्च” जस्तैः प्रस्थान ४:२२, यर्मिया ३१:९, भजनसंग्रह ८९:२७ । दाऊदको शासनको निम्ति “जेठो” शब्द प्रयोग गरिएको छ, यद्यपी दाऊद जेठो छोरा थिएनन् । ख्रीष्ट अनन्त पुत्रको रुपमा सारा सृष्टिका उत्तराधिकारी र शासक हुनुहुन्छ । कलस्सी १:१८ “उहाँ शरीर, अर्थात मण्डलीका शिर हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँ नै सुरु हुनुहुन्छ मरेकाहरुबाट जीवित हुनेहरुमा उहाँ ज्येष्ठ हुनुहुन्छ, ताकि प्रत्येक कुरामाथि उहाँ सर्वोच्च होऊन् । हिब्रू १:१–२ “...पुत्रलाई नै उहाँले सबै कुराका उत्तराधिकारी नियुक्त गर्नुभयो, उहाँद्वारा नै समस्त सृष्टि रच्नु पनि भयो ।”[1] हिब्रू १:५ मा परमेश्वर भन्नुहुन्छ “तिमी मेरा पुत्र हाँै, मैले नै आज तिमीहरुलाई जन्माएको छु...।” एक तर्फबाट हेर्दा यहाँ परमेश्वर पिताले येशू ख्रीष्टलाई जन्माउनु भएको जस्तै लाग्छ । तर हिब्रू १:६ ले बताउँछ, “आफ्नो प्रथम जन्मेकालाई संसारमा ल्याउनुहुदाँ उहाँ फेरी भन्नुहुन्छ...।” परमेश्वरले प्रथम जन्मेकालाई संसारमा ल्याउनु हुदाँ भन्ने वाक्यले येशू सृष्टि गरिनु भएको हो भन्ने अर्थ लाग्दैन तर उहाँ कन्या मरियमको कोखमा मानवको रुपमा धारणा गर्नु भएको हो भन्ने कुरा बुझिन्छ । ख्रीष्ट, अनन्त परमेश्वर मानव बन्नुभयो । फिलीप्पी २:५–९ पदले भन्दछ, “... परमेश्वरको स्वरुपमा (रुपमा) भएर पनि उहाँले परमेश्वरको बराबरी हुने कुरालाई एउटन पव्रिmराख्ने बस्तुजस्तो ठान्नुभएन । तर आफैलाई रित्त्याईकन कमाराको रुप (स्वभाव) धारण गरेर मनुष्य भएर जन्मनुभयो । स्वरुपमा मानिसजस्तै भएर आफैलाई होच्याउनुभयो, र मृत्युसम्मै आज्ञाकारी रहनुभयो । त्यसैकारण परमेश्वरले उहाँलाई अति उच्च पार्नुभयो, र उहाँलाई त्यो नाउँ प्रदान गर्नुभयो, जो हरेक नाउँ भन्दा उच्च छ ।”

यसैले हामी भन्न सक्छौँ कि येशू सृष्टि गरिएको होइन तर उहाँ त अनन्त देखी नै हुनुहुन्छ । (यूहन्ना १:१–३, प्रकाश १:८,१८,२२:१३) । येशूलाई कसैले सृष्टि गरिएको होइन तर उहाँ त अनन्त देखी नै अस्तित्वमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो, हुनुहुन्छ र भईरहनुहुनेछ । “पवित्र आत्माद्वारा गर्भमा उत्रिनहुने येशूको मानिसको रुपमा शुरुवात छ, तर परमेश्वरको रुपमा प्रभु येशूको न त शुरुवात छ, नत अन्त नै ।”[2]

येशू ख्रीष्ट परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्न किनकि उहाँ मानिस हुनु भयो र अहिले पनि मानिस नै हुनुहुहुन्छ भन्ने तर्फ कति मानिसले गर्ने गर्दछन् । येशूको मानव शरीर थियो तर पनि उहाँ परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो हुनुहुन्छ र भईरहनु हुनेछ । होशे ११:९ मा लेखिएको छ, “...किनकि म परमेश्वर हुँ, मानिस होइनँ...” यहाँ परमेश्वर म मानिस जस्तो व्यवहार गर्दिन भन्ने प्रसंगमा यस कुरा गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ । यस्तै इजकिएल २८:२ ले भन्दछ, “हे मानिसको छोरो, टुरोसको शासकलाई भन्, ‘परमप्रभु परमेश्वर यसो भन्नुहुन्छ: तेरो हृदयको घमण्डमा तँ भन्छस्, ‘म एक देवता हुँ । म समुन्द्रको बीचमा एउटा देवताको सिंहासनमा बस्तछु !’ तर तँ त एक जना मानिस मात्र होस्, देवता होइनस्, यद्यपि तैंले आफैलाई एक देवता जत्तिकै बुद्धिमान् सम्झन्छस् ।’” यस पदमा परमेश्वरले टुरोसका राजालाई उसको घमण्डको बारेमा भन्दैहुनुहुन्छ । सम्पूर्ण बाइबलमा काँही पनि परमेश्वरले भन्नु भएको छैन कि ‘परमेश्वर मानिस बन्न सक्दैन ’ । मानिस परमेश्वर बन्न सक्दैन भन्ने कुरा लेखिएको छ तर परमेश्वर मानिस बन्न सक्दैन भन्ने कुरा लेखिएको छैन । यदि परमेश्वर मानिस भएमा के परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्न त? यो कदापि हुदैन । परमेश्वर मानिस भएतापनि परमेश्वर, परमेश्वर नै हुनुहुन्छ । “मानिसको रुप धारण गर्नु अघि पनि येशू पिता परमेश्वरसित समान परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो, आज पनि हुनुहुन्छ अनि सधै भरी हुनुहुनेछ ।”[1] “उहाँ आफै मानिसको रुप धारण गर्नुभयो । ...मानिसको रुपमा संसारमा आउनुभएर मानिसहरुलाई परमेश्वरको परिचय दिनुभयो । यस कुराले उहाँ संसारमा जन्म लिनुभयो अघि परमेश्वरको रुपमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो भन्ने कुरा देखाउँछ, किनकि त्यही व्यक्तिले मात्र परमेश्वरको परिचय दिनसक्थ्यो जो अघिबाट परमेश्वरको साथमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।”[2] तसर्थ “परमेश्वरले मासु र हाड्डीको रुपमा मानिसको शरीर धारण गर्न सक्नुहुन्न भनी होशेले भनेका छैनन् । उहाँको निम्ति कुनै कुरा असम्भव छैन, यर्मिया ३२:१७,१८, यसैकारण उहाँ मानिसको शरीरमा प्रकट हुन सक्नुहुन्छ ।”[3]

नयाँ करारका अतिरिक्त यहूदी लेखकद्वय योसिफस र फाइलोसाथै रोमी लेखक टासिटसका रचनाहरूमा पिलातसका सन्दर्भहरू उल्लेख भए तापनि वर्षौंसम्म आलोचकहरूले पिलातसको साँचो अस्तित्वमाथि नै प्रश्न गर्दै आएका थिए ।[1] ख्रिस्टाब्द १९६१ को जुन महिनामा इटालीका पुरातत्त्वविद् डा. एन्टोनिओ फ्रोभाको नेतृत्वमा गएको टोलीले कैसरिया मरितिमा नामक प्राचीन सहरमा हेरोद महान्द्वारा निर्मित प्राचीन रङ्गशालाको उत्खनन गरिरहेका थिए ।[2] उनको समुहले त्यहाँ एउटा शिलालेख फेला पारियो । त्यस शिलालेखमा ‘पन्तियस पिलातस’ को नाम उल्लेख गरिएको थियो ।[3] उनीहरुले त्यस शिलालेखको अनुसन्धान गरे पछि पत्ता लाग्यो कि पन्तियस पिलातसले कैसरियामा एउटा मन्दिर निर्माण गरेका थिए जुन तिनले रोमी सम्राट् तिबेरिअस (ख्रिस्टाब्द १४–३७ ख्रिस्टपूर्व) को नाउँमा अर्पण गरेका थिए । यसलाई ख्रिस्टाब्द २६–३७ को बिचमा तयार पारिएको देखिन्छ ।[4] इतिहासअनुसार पिलातस ख्रिस्टाब्द २६–३६ सम्म यहूदियाका हाकिम भएका थिए । रोमी सम्राट् टाइबेरियसले पिलातसलाई इ.सं. २६ मा यहूदिया प्रान्तको बडा हाकिम नियुक्त गरेका थिए ।[5] तिनी यहूदियाका पाँचौँ हाकिम थिए । यहूदियाको रोमी राजधानी कैसरिया मरितिमामा तिनले आफ्नो कार्यालय बनाएका थिए ।[6] तिनकै समयमा येशू क्रुसमा टाँगिनुभएको थियो । हाल यस शिलालेख यरूशलेमस्थित इजराएल सङ्ग्रहालयमा सुरक्षितसाथ राखिएको छ । त्यस शिलालेख ८२ सेन्टिमिटर लमाइ र ६५ सेन्टिमिटर चौडाइ आकारको छ ।[7] त्यस शिलालेखमा लेखिएको थियो, “यहूदियाका हाकिम पन्तियस पिलातसले तिबेरिअसको नाउँमा यसलाई अर्पण गरेका छन् ।” यो लेख ल्याटिन भाषामा लेखिएको थियो ।[8]

अन्त्यमा, नयाँ पुरातत्त्वक खोजहरुले बाइबलमा उल्लेख भएका विवरणहरु सत्य हुन् भन्ने प्रमाणहरु अधिक रुपमा दिएका छन् र बाइबलको विश्वासनीयतालाई पुष्टि गरिदिएको छ । “पुराततत्त्वक खोजहरुले धर्मशास्त्रको विश्वासनीयतालाई पुष्टि गरिरहेकै छन् ।”[9] पुरातत्त्क खोजहरुले नयाँ करारको ऐतिहासिकक सच्चाइलाई थप पुष्टि गरिदिएको छ । “... पुरातत्त्वकले पत्ता लगाएका प्राचीन वस्तुहरुले बाइबलमा लेखिएका कुराहरु सत्य हुन् भनी प्रमाणित गरेका छन् ।”[10] यसैले पुराततत्त्वविद्या वैज्ञानिक रुपमा पनि सत्य सावित भएको छ ।

पुरातत्त्वविद्या शब्द पुरा र तत्त्व यि दुई शब्द आपसमा मिलेर बनेको हो । यी मध्ये पुरा शब्दको शाब्दिक अर्थ पुरानो, विगतको वा पहिलेको भन्ने हुन्छ भने तत्त्व शब्दको अर्थ मुलभुत कुरा वा वास्तविक कुराको ज्ञान भन्ने हुन्छ । यसर्थ पुरातत्त्व शब्दको शाब्दिक अर्थ विगतको वास्तविक कुरा, अथवा पुरानो कुराको ज्ञान अथवा आजभन्दा पहिलेको, वास्तविक कुराको जानकारी गराउँने विषय हो । विगतका पुराना कुराहरुको खोज तथा अनुसन्धान गर्ने एक प्रकारको विज्ञान हो ।[1] पुरातत्वशास्त्र त्यो विज्ञान हो जो मानवका भूत कालको अध्ययन गर्दछ ।[2] पुरातत्त्वलाई बुझाउने प्राचिन ग्रीक भाषाको 'Archaios' र 'Logos' भन्ने दुई अलग शब्द आपसमा मिलेर बनेको हो । जसको अर्थपनि क्रमसँग पुरानो र ज्ञान भन्ने हुन्छ ।[3] पुरातत्त्वविद्या भन्नाले भूतकालमा भएका पुराना बस्तुहरुको खोज तथा अनुसन्धान गर्ने सामाजिक विज्ञान हो । नेपाली बृहत् शब्दकोश ले पुरातत्त्वको परिभाषित गर्दै भन्छ, “प्राचीन समयमा निर्माण भएका वा उपयोग गरिएका ऐतिहासिक तथा महत्वपूर्ण वस्तुको अध्ययन गर्ने विद्या; पुराना कला वा संस्कृतिको अनुसन्धान तथा अध्ययनसँग सम्बन्ध राख्ने विद्या”[4] यसर्थ पुरातत्त्वविद्या मुलतः पुराना बस्तुहरुको अध्ययन गर्ने विद्या हो ।

बाइबलका सत्यताहरु यस्ता खोजीहरुमाथि निर्भर छैन तर पनि पुरनतत्व विज्ञानले बाइबलमा लेखिएका कुराहरुको वास्तविकतालाई पुष्टि गर्दछ ।[5] पुरातत्त्वविद्याले बाइबल परमेश्वरको बचन हो वा होइन भन्ने कुरा प्रमाणित गर्न सक्दैन तर बाइबल सत्यताले भरिएको र इतिहास मुताविक सही छ भन्ने कुराको प्रमाण भने दिने गर्दछ । बाइबल कुनै मानिसले कल्पना गरेको मनगढन्ते दन्ते कथा होइन भनेर पनि पुरातत्त्वविद्याले हामीलाई प्रमाण दिदछ । लेखक डेल रोटन लेख्छन्, “पुरातत्त्वविक खोजहरुले धर्मशास्त्रको विश्वासनीयतालाई पुष्टि गरिरहेकै छन् ।”[6] यस्तै ग्लिसन आर्चर, प्रतिष्ठित बाइबल विद्वान् भन्छन्, “एकपछि अर्को गर्दै मैले बाइबलका तथाकथित अन्तर्विरोधहरूलाई हेरेको छु र बाइबलका अभिलेखमा भएका ती अन्तर्विरोधहरूलाई अध्ययन गरेको छु । र, भाषाविद्हरू, पुरातत्त्वविद्या र विज्ञानको साक्षीले धर्मशास्त्रको विश्वसनियताप्रति भएको मेरो निश्चयतालाई बारम्बार पुष्टि गरेका छन् र मजबुत बनाएका छन् ।”[7] विलियम राम्सेले बाइबललाई दन्ते कथाको रुपमा बिचार गर्थे । उनले बाइबललाई अप्रमाणित गर्ने उद्देश्यले नै पुरातत्त्वविद्या भन्ने बिषय अध्ययन गरे । २५ बर्षको लामो अनुसन्धान र खोजबाट उनले थाहा पाए कि बाइबलमा उल्लेख गरिएका पुरातत्त्व सम्बन्धी कुराहरु सत्य छन् । त्यस पछि उनी ख्रीष्टियान पनि भए ।[8]

पुरातासत्त्विक कामले निःसन्देह धर्मशास्त्रीय रेकर्डको विश्वासनीयतामा विश्वास बलियो बनाएको छ । प्यालेस्टाइनमा उत्खन्न गरेको अनुभवले गर्दा एक भन्दा बढी पुरातत्वविदहरूले बाइबलप्रति आफ्नो आदर बढाएको छ । पुरातत्त्विविद्याले धेरै जसो अवस्थामा आधुनिक आलोचकहरूको धारणालाई इन्कार गरेको छ ।[9]

“परमेश्वर अवैयक्तिक ‘शक्ति’ नभएर व्यक्तित्व सम्पन्न व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँसित ज्ञान, शक्ति, इच्छा अनि भावना छ । मानिस जातिको पनि ज्ञान, शक्ति, इच्छा अनि भावना हुन्छ । तर यसको अर्थ परमेश्वर मानिस जस्तो हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने हुँदैन (होशे ११:९) । यसको विपरीत यी गुणहरु परमेश्वरमा भएका हुनाले मानिसमा पनि विद्यमान छन्, किनकि मानिस परमेश्वरको स्वरुपमा सृष्टि गरिएको छ (उत्पत्ति १:२६) परमेश्वर आत्मा हुनुहुन्छ, यसकारण अदृश्य हुनुहुन्छ (यूहन्ना ४:२४, रोमी १:२०,१ तिमोथी १:१७, हिब्रू ११:२७) । मानवीय भाषाले शारीरिक आकृति नभएको कुनै व्यक्तिको बर्णन गर्न नसक्ने भएकाले परमेश्वरको विषयमा बर्णन सही रुपले गर्नलाई बाइबलले अरु चित्रहरु तुलनात्मक कुराहरु प्रयोग गर्नुपरेको हो । परमेश्वर केवल एक व्यक्ति मात्र हुनुहुन्न तर विश्वासीहरु उहाँसितको एउटा व्यक्तिगत सम्बन्धप्रति यति सचेत हुन्छन् कि उनीहरुले सामुहिक रुपमा उहाँलाई ‘हाम्रा परमेश्वर’ अनि व्यक्तिगत रुपमा ‘मेरो परमेश्वर’ भन्न सक्छन् (प्रेरित २:३९, फिलिप्पी ४:१९) ।”[1] यस्तै परमेश्वर व्यक्तिगत हुनुहुन्छ र पनि उहाँ अपरिवर्तनीय हुनुहुन्छ वा परिवर्तन नहुने परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ । अझ स्पष्ट सँग भन्दा परमेश्वर मानिसहरु जस्तै व्यक्तिगत हुनुहुन्छ तापनि मानिस झै परिवर्तन हुने हुनुहुन्न । “परमेश्वर तार्किक स्वसचेत र आफै निर्णय गर्न सक्ने बुद्धिमान् नैतिक अस्तित्व हुनुहुन्छ ।”[2] परमेश्वर एक व्यक्ति पनि हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँ “यस्तो व्यक्ति हो, जसमा विचार गर्ने, अनुभव गर्ने र निर्णय गर्ने शक्ति हुन्छ । परमेश्वरको शरीर नभएर पनि उहाँको बुद्धि र विचार, अनुभव र तर्क गर्नसक्ने शक्ति अवश्य पनि छ । बाइबलले प्रकट गर्छ, कि उहाँले अरुहरुसँग कुरा गर्नुहुन्छ र उहाँले निर्णयहरु बनाउनुहुनछ । यी सबै एक व्यक्तिमा हुने स्वभाव वा चरित्रहरु हुन् । यसैले परमेश्वर व्यक्तिगत परमेश्वर हुनुन्छ ।”[3] परमेश्वर व्यक्तिगत हुनुहुन्छ भन्दा कहिले काही हामी परमेश्वरलाई हामी मानिसहरु जस्तैको रुपमा तुलना गर्दछौँ । उहाँमा मानिसमा भएको गुणहरु छ तर यसको अर्थ यो होइन कि परमेश्वर मानिस हुनुहुन्छ । परमेश्वरले मानिसलाई बनाउनु भएको हो मानिसले परमेश्वरलाई होइन । (तर फेरी हामीले ध्यान दिनु पर्दछ । परमेश्वर मानिस होइन भन्दा येशू ख्रीष्ट पनि परमेश्वर होइन भन्न चाहिँ मिल्दैन किनकि येशू हामीहरुको लागि मानिस भएर आउनु भएको हो भनेर बाइबलले हामीलाई बताउँछ । येशू मानिस भएर परमेश्वर हुनु भएको होइन तर परमेश्वर भएर नै मानिस हुनुहुभएको हो । अर्थात उहाँ मानिस हुदाँ पनि उहाँ परमेश्वर नै हुनुहुन्थ्यो । (मैले यहाँ परमेश्वर पिता र पुत्र परमेश्वर एकै व्यक्ति हो भन्ने कुरा गरेको छैन))“हामीहरु जस्तै परमेश्वर समय, ठाउँ र प्राकृतिक नियमहरुबाट सीमित हुनुहुन्न । उहाँ सधैभरी हुनुहुन्छ र हुनेहुनेछ । उहाँ सबै ठाउँमा हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँ सबै कुरा जान्नुहुन्छ र जे कुरा पनि गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ । कोही कोहीले विश्वास गर्छन्, कि परमेश्वर नै संसारलाई अधीन गर्ने अव्यक्तिगत दबाउ अथवा असलको निम्ति प्रभाव पार्ने शक्ति हुनुहुन्छ । हामीलाई थाहा छ कि परमेश्वर व्यक्ति हुनुहुन्छ, किनभने उहाँ विचार गर्नुहुन्छ, अनुभव गर्नुहुन्छ र काम गर्नुहुन्छ । वास्तवमा बाइबलले सिकाउँछ कि परमेश्वर एकमात्र हुनहुन्छ जो तीन व्यक्तिमा प्रकट हुनुभएको छ, अथवा त्रिएक परमेश्वर । परमेश्वर पिता, परमेश्वर पुत्र र परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, स्वभावमा , शक्तिमा र उद्देश्यमा एकै हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँहरु एकै व्यक्ति एकै परमेश्वरजस्तै पूर्ण मिलापमा काम गर्नुहन्छ ।”[4]

Avatar and Jesus

Here, Christians who convert from Hindu to Christ, they often use the term "avatar" to explain Jesus. Well, I can understand it’s the very term by which a Hindu can perceive god descending as a human form. In Hinduism, this is nothing astonishing. We know about dash avatar of Lord Vishnu. And similarly, even Shiva, Ganesh, Devis, and other gods have many avatars. But can this term be used for Jesus?

If I said now where this term is in the bible, you may object me to answer where trinity term is in the bible or I might be guilty of Biblicism. But I am not talking about the term in a way of biblicism. I am talking from viewpoint of its intended meaning. In use, it may seem fitting on Jesus Christ but in its intended definition, there's Achilles heel.

Avatar vs God manifestation in Jesus:

First, let us know just by basic, how the term avatar is understood in Hinduism.

At the core of Hinduism, God is the only one who is called Brahman in Upanishads. Brahman is beyond name and form, all-pervading, all-encompassing, and all-knowing. Everything living and non-living are verily different expressions of Brahman. The entire cosmos is an expression of Brahman. Brahman is smaller than the atom and yet bigger than the cosmos. Since Brahman encompasses everything, any concept of God with name and form is also within the scope of Brahman only. In Hinduism God with name and form is also real and such a God is known as Ishwara.

Main God in Hinduism is Supreme Brahman/Para Brahman/Paramatma. The Trinity/Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) & their avatars are the manifestation of one Supreme Brahman. Even though Trinity & their Avatars have different divine bodies but they have the same single Atman/Soul (innermost core/root and essence) that is Supreme Brahman. Trinity and their Avatars are not different from each other. They are one but have manifested in different divine bodies. Normal human being considers divine bodies as Supreme God because they wrongly identify divine bodies of Trinity and their avatars with spiritual body/space consciousness of Supreme Brahman which pervades & resides in (not diametrically but as a level of reality and real consciousness) divine body of Trinity as Atman/Soul.

There is no such concept as 330 million gods. There are only 33 Koti/types (Literal meaning of Koti is a type) of gods/Devas whose function is to sustain the world (12 Adityas, 11 Rudras, 8 Vasus and 2 Ashvins). Each living being consist of a fraction of Devas. They are not able to give any living being Moksha/Nirvana (freedom from Samsara/cycle of death & birth) so they are not be worshiped. They are just the creation of Supreme Brahman. In the Vedic period, Devas were only worshiped only to get temporary heaven/Swarg. One who seeks liberation & freedom from Samsara/cycle of birth of death they should not worship them. They should be revered only by considering the presence of Supreme Brahman within them in the form of Atman/soul/Root consciousness.

In Sanskrit, Avatar means to descend or to manifest. This term is generally in association with Lord Vishnu regardless of numerous avatars even of other gods. An avatar means either complete or partial form of a deity in any kind such as human, animal or mixture in order to carry out a specific mission. An avatar is not mere materialization or appearance of God in physical form for the sake of his devotees. It is neither a disguise nor a trick played upon our senses.

Interestingly, in the four Vedas inclusive of Vedanta (Upanishads) which are the earliest sources of spiritual scriptures, there is no concept of Avatar being mentioned! The concept of Avatars came into vogue only in later historic periods of Itihas and Puranas (scriptural mythologies). The term was also used to dedicate different gods but in the 6th century AD, its usage emphasized more to manifestation of Vishnu. Despite the absence of the term even in the Bhagavad Gita, its concept has been mentioned. There is another term called vibhuti which teaches that God can manifest in different forms of humans and nature.

On the other hand, in Hinduism, the incarnation is different which requires the birth of God in physical form, through the natural process. His existence upon the earth in physical form, that can be a human, animal or semi-human, or even mythical form, undergoing the same experiences as living beings. The incarnation may exist for a brief period of time or for a lifetime. The incarnation may have all the powers and awareness of God in His absolute aspect or only a necessary portion of it. It is essentially an interference in the affairs and progression of the manifested worlds. It is an intervention that becomes necessary due to the activity of beings endowed with free will. The law of karma makes each individual being responsible for its action.

Incarnation is supported by Vaishnavas whereas Shaivism oppose. God is the knower of past, present, and future, and controller of all. Everything happens according to his will and even evil cannot act itself out unless he wills. So, what needs to be accomplished can be accomplished through the will of Siva without the need for a separate incarnation. If at all there is a need to interfere as per his will, Siva would manifest Himself directly and take necessary action. So, Siva would only manifest or act through his agencies such as a Guru or an aspect or emanation but would not incarnate. However, not all followers of Siva would agree with this argument.

Now, the doctrine of the Incarnation (God became man in Jesus of Nazareth) lies at the heart of Christianity; it’s a truth-claim celebrated all over the world at Christmastime. Historic Christianity affirms that Jesus Christ is a single person with both a fully divine nature and a fully human nature. As C. S. Lewis aptly put it, “The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.”

Here are four biblical passages that testify to the truth of Jesus Christ’s Incarnation:

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” (John 1:14)
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” (Philippians 2:5–7)
“For in Christ, all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9)
“This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.” (1 John 4:2)

The incarnation of God in Jesus Christ is a unique event in the history of the world and cannot be compared to the innumerable avatars of Hindu gods and goddesses. There are three main reasons why a Hindu avatar cannot be compared with the Christian proclamation of the incarnation.

First, an incarnation is a unique event and, by definition, can never be repeated. The Scripture declares that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). The doctrine of the incarnation insists that in Jesus Christ God became a man without ceasing to be God. Jesus Christ is forever the God-Man. Even now, He sits on the right hand of the Father in heaven as the God-Man. After Jesus was resurrected, He did not cease to be the God-Man, it is an everlasting reality. In contrast, avatars are temporary manifestations of the divine and once the mission of the avatar is completed, the humanity of the avatar ceases to exist. This allows for multiple avatars from time to time in accordance with the Bhagavad-Gita which declares, “whenever there is the decay of righteousness, O Bharata, and there is the exaltation of unrighteousness, then I Myself come forth. For the protection of the good, for the sake of firmly establishing righteousness, I am born from age to age” (Gita 4:7,8). In Christianity, the incarnation of Jesus Christ is a one-time event in human history.
Second, an avatar is different from the incarnation in that an avatar is only a partial manifestation of the divine. Avatars represent only several of the attributes of deity, whereas the incarnation is a full and complete union of the fullness of deity with the fullness of humanity. The Bible says “in Christ, all the fullness of the deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9). When we meet Christ, we do not meet only a few of the attributes of deity, but the fullness of God Himself who has come to save and redeem us.
Third, an avatar is a partial mingling between the divine nature of a so-called Hindu god such as Vishnu with human nature as seen in such figures as Rama or Krishna. Christians do not believe it is possible for the divine and human natures to mingle or coalesce into one another. We believe that the two natures – divine and human – remain distinct even though they were united in the person of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus Christ has two natures – one divine and one human – but the two natures were united in one person, Jesus Christ i.e. hypostatic union. When Jesus came, he died on the cross for our sins and completed once and for all everything that is necessary for our salvation. There is no need, nor any benefit from a second or third visit of God to the human race. By dying on the cross for our sins, Jesus has paid the penalty once and for all.

The belief in Hindu avatars is somehow similar to the Christian heresy of Docetism, which is a belief that Jesus Christ only appeared to be a human. Docetism teaches that Jesus’ body was spiritual, rather than physical; thus, He was unable to suffer physical pain. Jesus is not an avatar but both fully human and fully God. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and was bodily raised to life on the third day. He ascended back to heaven and will one day return.

Even within Hinduism, one of the greatest Sanskrit and Vedas Scholar - Swami Dayanand Sarasvati in his book Satyarth Prakash (Light of Truth) he has written: (Page - 219)

"Does God incarnate or not?

A.- No; because it is said in the Yajur Veda. "He is unborn." Again "He overspreads all." He is pure, is never born and never takes on a human form." It is clear from these quotations that God is never born.

Q. But Krishna says in the Gita, "Whenever there is the decay of virtue, I take on a human form." GITA 4:7. What is your answer to this?

A.- Being opposed to the Veda (divinely revealed most highly revered Hindu scriptures) it (Geta) cannot be held to be an authority............................

Krishna could never be God."

Hindu Avatar in general understanding	God’s incarnation in Jesus
In Hinduism, an avatar restores righteousness, or dharma, to the cosmic or social order, including duty, ritual, law, morality, ethics, good deeds, and such.	Jesus' mission was higher—He came to restore a relationship between God and people (John 3:16–18). The right living, the behavior, and the morals are a result of that relationship being made right (Ephesians 2:8–10).
The Puranas, state that the god Vishnu causes a cyclic manifestation and dissolution of the world. Each cosmic cycle (mahayuga) has four ages (Yuga). Krita Yuga – 1,728,000 years, Treta Yuga – 1,296,000 years, Dvapara Yuga – 864,000 years and Kali Yuga – 432,000 years This cycle is repeated 994 times, forming a period called kalpa, and then a dissolution (pralaya) 36,000 kalpas and pralayas make the lifespan of Brahma, the creator god.	According to Christianity, the world was created by one act of God not as manifestation and dissolution and was created as ex nihilo (out of nothing), and it is not out of necessity that God created the world but He created because He wanted too by His sovereign and free will. Moreover, the world became corrupted by sin (free choice of humans) and not through pralaya. It will not follow a repeated cycle of manifestation and dissolution. God is Eternal and Immutable and does not have any life span.
This is followed by a total dissolution (mahapralaya) when all worlds, time, and space return into Brahman, and the whole cycle starts again in an endless process of manifestation (Kalpa) and dissolution (Pralaya).	The "new heaven and a new earth" in Revelation (21:1) is not a new creation similar to the one presented in Genesis. Rather, the "new heaven and a new earth" is an everlasting world where sin is eradicated and there will be "no more death or mourning or crying or pain" (Revelation 21,4). It will belong to those who accepted the saving work of Christ and will never have a pralaya to end it.
The number of his avatars varies from one Hindu writing to another. The Markandeya Purana 4, 44-58 lists 12 avatars of Vishnu The Garuda Purana list 19, The Matsya Purana 47, 32-52 lists 22.	The number of incarnations of Christ is one and does not change.
In Hinduism, none of the avatars has a perfect union of the two natures. Rather, they have divine nature combined with the physical one (animal or human).	The unique incarnation of God the Son, become 100% God and 100% Man, perfect in both his divine and human nature. This is theologically Hypostatic Union.
In an avatar, the physical body is a mere garment that is put on and off (according to Bhagavad Gita 2.22), there cannot be any real association of Vishnu with a physical body.	Christ’s association with his physical body was real and he came also to redeem our physical body by taking a real physical body, that is why there is so much stress on his physical resurrection, which isn’t a case in Hindu belief.
Avatar do not and need not have any historical basis.	The incarnation of Christ is Historical and is meaningless if it's not historical.
In the avatar, there is no aspect of taking away of sin rather only destroying the evil person.	Jesus Christ as "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29) has no parallel element. Jesus Christ prayed for his killers saying, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
Various forms of avatar are taken and after the mission, the form of the avatar is shed and removed like changing clothes.	Christ retains the Incarnate physical state even after the resurrection.
The god can become incarnate in one place at a time as a full avatar or in many places simultaneously through partial avatars called amshas, such that the main form of the god can still communicate with the partial materializations.	God the Son incarnated but not God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
Avatar is repeating in nature. Vishnu said "Whenever evil will increase. I will come back to earth."	But Jesus' case was different. He ultimately came as a sacrifice once only. He won't be coming back in any form now except as the King.
Work of avatar is only temporal.	Work of Jesus is eternal.
After a specific mission, avatars again go away. Avatars are taken with more varieties of purposes.	Jesus came once and fully completed his task
Avatar were working on their authority (you might need to check this).	God the Son willingly chose to be a Savior but subjected to God the Father.
Its concept depends upon systems of aastika philosophies.	Its concept depends upon doctrine of the trinity.
Not necessarily to reveal God, to mediate and to be an example for humanity.	To reveal God, to mediate between God and Man and to be an example for humanity.
To carry out specific mission of guidance and protection.	To reclaim the authority and the destination that humanity lost in garden of Eden.

We use "avatar" because for a Hindu mindset it hits some idea of God descending to earth for a specific task. When we totally use the term avatar, a Hindu might then understand even God's theophany or even Holy Spirit descending as a dove as avatars. They aren't wrong however as per their belief! Hence, by definition, avatar is a hazardous term for a biblical worldview and theology. The concept of God is different, understanding is different and so avatar is a different term.

I have often seen this term used in worship songs. Some might say its contextualization. Well that's fine! But again, there is high chance of synchronization! we may use avatar term to define Jesus but we cannot apply this term in totality on Jesus. For a Hindu worldview, God can take any avatars in any forms. Hence, we use "avatar" only in a limited circle within the meaning of "to descend" when we talk about Christ. But the complete understanding of avatar can affect Biblical understanding of God's manifestation in person of Jesus. However, we can simply make them understand that God took on human form which they can/might understand easily.

The doctrine of the Trinity is foundation to the Christian faith[1]. It is heart of Christian belief and Christian teaching. Christian main foundational doctrine is Trinity. Trinity is Major Doctrine in Christianly because Bible Teach as this doctrine. "The doctrine of the Trinity is considered to be one of the central Christian affirmations about God."[2] "We are believe in Trinity God."[3] "The central Christian affirmations about God are condensed and focused in the classic doctrine of the Trinity, which has its ultimate foundation in the special religious experience of the Christians in the first communities. This basis of experience is older than the doctrine of the Trinity."[4] The word trinity is not mentioned in the Bible[5]. The word Trinity is not mentioned in one place throughout the Bible.' Thus the term: "Tri" meaning three, and "Unity" meaning one, Tri+Unity = Trinity. It is a way of acknowledging what the Bible reveals to us about God, that God is yet three "Persons" who have the same essence of deity."[6] "The term was used by Tertullian in the second century."[7] ' We need to know that even though there is no word "trinity" in the Bible, but it is a complete biblical teaching. The Bible teaches us about the Trinity. Therefore, the first person to use the word trinity was Tertullian.[8]

It is important because a biblical understanding of the Trinity keeps us from all sorts of unhealthy, unsound, and damaging teaching. It helps us be able to dialogue with Muslims,
Jehovah Witnesses, and Mormons; all of which have divergent views on the doctrine of God." The triune nature of God is essential to our faith and our salvation."[9] So the doctrine of the Trinity is not only the basis of Christian faith but also the basis of how people are saved. Without the Trinity we cannot be saved because the Trinity must be involved in the work of salvation. If someone says that he does not believe in the Trinity but wants to be saved, it is like saying that he will reach the moon without a rocket. The Trinity is also needed for salvation. The Trinity is not only the doctrine of the church but it is the way of salvation in the Christian life. The Trinity is not only a biblical principle but also the key to the salvation of every true Christian." God has given us this truth through His Word, and the Trinity is important simply because the doctrine is revealed in Scripture. Also, doctrine of the Trinity goes hand in hand with the doctrine of salvation."[10] The Trinity is the backbone of Christians.

जुन समयमा आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदय नै भएको थिएन त्यो सयममा बाइबलका सबै पुस्तकहरु पूर्ण रुपमा लेखिसकिएको थियो । यसैले समयको दृष्टिकोणले हेर्ने हो भने विज्ञान भन्दा बाइबल अगाडी लेखिएको थियो । यसैले आधुनिक विज्ञानको लागि बाइबल एक मार्गदर्शक जस्तै भएको थियो भन्दा फरक नपार्ला किनकि बाइबल सम्बन्धी धेरै खोज तथा अनुसन्धानहरु आधुनिक विज्ञानले गरेको छ । बाइबल कुनै विज्ञानको पुस्तक होइन तर पनि बाइबलसँग सम्बन्धी धेरै खोज तथा अनुसन्धानहरु भएका छन् । अचम्म लाग्दो कुरा त के हो भने, बाइबलमा उल्लेख भएको विवरण भन्दा फरक विवरण आधुनिक विज्ञानले अहिले सम्म पत्ता लगाउन सफल भएको छैन । चाहे त्यो भौतिक विज्ञान सँग सम्बन्धी होस, वा खगोल विज्ञान सँग होस् वा जीव विज्ञानसँग साथै चिकित्सात्मक विज्ञान जुन सुकै विज्ञानहरु बाझेने प्रकारको तथ्य आज सम्म वैज्ञानिकहरु वा विज्ञानले पत्ता लगाउँन सकेको छैन । पुरातत्त विज्ञान अन्तर्गत हेर्ने हो भने जति बाइबलमा उल्लेख भएका स्थान, बस्तु तथा जीवनशेषहरु अहिले पनि दिनानु दिन पत्ता लागि रहेको छ ।

यहाँ हामीले विज्ञान माथि बााइबलले कसरी प्रकाश गरेका छ वा विज्ञानले पत्ता लागउनु भन्दा कयौँ बर्ष अगाडी नै बाइबलले कसरी आधुनिक विज्ञानको बारेमा बताएको छ भन्ने कुराहरु यहाँ उल्लेख गर्ने प्रयास गरेका छौँ ।

१.बाइबल बैज्ञानिक वा विज्ञानको रूपमा सत्यताले भरिएको छ ।

कति मानिसहरूले बाइबलमा बैज्ञानिक रूपमा गल्ती छ भन्ने कुराहरू उल्लेख गर्दै बाइलबको बिभिन्न पदहरूलार्इ उल्लेख गर्दै बाइबल गलत छ भन्ने कुरा गर्दछन् । बिशेष गरी उत्पत्तिको पुस्तकमा मानिस र सृष्टिको बारेमा बिभिन्न व्यक्तिहरूले दोष लेखाउछन् । जसले जे दोष लगाए पनि बाइबल बैज्ञानिक रूपमा पनि सहि रहेको छ । बिज्ञान भन्दा पहिला बाइबलको सुरू भएको हो । बिज्ञानले जे भने पनि बाइबल कुनै पनि हालतमा गलत हुनै सक्दैन । विज्ञानले परमेश्वर बनाएको हैन तर परमेश्वरले दिनुभएको ज्ञानको अधारमा विज्ञानको सुरू भएको हो । विज्ञानको सुरू हुनु भन्दा पहिला नै परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्थ्यो । अब हामी बाइबलमा वैज्ञानिक सत्यता वा विज्ञानको सत्यता बारेमा हेर्ने छैँ

२.अयूब २६:७ मा उल्लेख गरिएको छ ,... शुन्यतामा पृथ्वीलार्इ भुण्डयाउनुहुन्छ ।

बाइबलको यो सत्य बचन अहिले सत्य प्रमाणित भएको छ कि पृथ्वी शुन्यतामा नै झुण्डिएको छ । यस भन्दा अगाडी मानिसहरू सोच्दथे , पृथ्वी ठूलो कछुवा माथि अडिएको छ । कसै कसैले सोच्दथे कि पृथ्वी ठूलो माछाले अड्याइरहेको छ । कसै कसैले त यो पनि सोच्दथे कि पृथ्वीलार्इ ठूलो मानिसले काधमा बोकि रहेको छ तर अज भन्दा ३५०० बर्ष अधि नै अयूबको पुस्तकमा उल्लेख गरिएको थियो कि पृथ्वी सुन्यतामा झुण्डिएको छ । यो कुरा पत्ता लगाउन बैज्ञानिकहरूलार्इ ३५०० बर्ष लाग्यो तर बाइबलमा पहिले नै लेखिएको थियो । यसैकारण बाइबल विज्ञानको नजरमा पनि सही छ

३.बाइबले भन्छ सुर्य पनि घुम्छ

यहोशु १०:१२-१३ मा यहोशुले सूर्यलार्इ अकाशमा स्थिर गराएको वा रोकेको पाइन्छ , कति व्यक्तिहरूले बाइबल गलत छ किनकि सूर्य घुम्दैन तर पृथ्वी मात्र घुम्छ भन्ने बिचार राख्दथे र केही समय अगाडी सम्म वैज्ञानिकहरूले पनि यहि विश्वास गर्दथे तर अहिले यो प्रमाण भएको छ कि सूर्य पनि घुम्छ । यसैले हामी यो भन्न सक्छ कि बाइबल सत्यताले भरिएको छ ।

४.बाइबलले पृथ्वीको भित्रको संरचनाको बयान गरेको छ ।

अयूब २८:३ मा ३५०० बर्ष अगाडी नै लेखिएको थयो कि, ।।। पृथ्वीको गहिरो भित्र अध्यारोमा खनिजको खोजी गर्छ । यसले यही भन्छ पृथ्वीको भित्रि भागमा खनिज पदार्थहरू पाइन्छ । यो सत्य हो पृथ्वीको भित्रि भागमा बिभिन्न खनिज पदार्थहरू रहेको पाइन्छ । यसको खोजी वैज्ञानिकहरूले गरेको पाइन्छ ।

५.बाइबलमा चलचक्रको बारेमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।

धेरै मानिसहरूले यो बिचार गर्दथे कि कसरी पानी पर्दछ तर यस कुराको कुराको उत्तर बाइबलले ३५०० बर्ष पहिले नै दिएको थियो । अयूब ३६:२७ र २८ पदले यो कुराको स्पष्ट रूपमा हामीलार्इ बताउदछ कि कसरी पृथ्वीमा पानी पर्दछ भनेर उहाँ लेखिएको छ, उहाँले समुन्द्रबाट पानीको थोपा खिच्नुहुन्छ र आफूले बनाउनुभएको मेघबाट झरी बर्साउनुहुन्छ । यहाँ स्पष्ट रूपमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ कि पृथ्वीमा कसरी पानि पर्दछ भनेर । पृथ्वीमा भएको पानी बास्फिकरण भर्इ माथि गर्इ मेघ गर्जनको रूपमा पानि पर्दछ भनेर बाइबलले बताउदछ र विज्ञानले पनि यही भन्दछ ।

६.ब्राम्मण्डमा असंख्या ताराहरू छन् ।

केही समय अगाडीको मानिसहरूले भन्दथे कि ताराहरू गन्न सकिन्छ । कति बैज्ञानिकरू यो विश्वास गर्दथे कि जम्मा ११००० ताराहरू छन् भनी विश्वास राख्दथे तर अहिले वैज्ञानिकहरूले यो पत्ता लगाएका छन् कि अकाशमा ताराहरू असंख्या मात्रमा रहेको छन् । यस कुरालार्इ बाइबलले धेरै समय अगाडी नै प्रमाणित गरिसकेको थियो कि ताराहरू असंख्या मात्रामा छन् । यर्मिया ३३:२२ ले भन्दछ, आकाशका तारा गन्न नसकिने।।।। । यसको अर्थ यही हुन्छ कि ताराहरू असंख्या मात्रामा छन् ।

आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदयमा बाइबलको निकै प्रभाव छ । बाइबल द्वारा र बाइबल माथि विश्वास गर्ने व्यक्तिहरूले नै आधुनकि विज्ञानको उदय गरेका थिए । चाहे उ कोपरनिकस होस वा अल्वर्ट आइन्सटाइन वा लुई पास्चर नै यी सबै बाइबलबाट प्रभावित भएका व्यक्तिहरू हुन् । बाइबलले पनि आधुनिक विज्ञानको खोज तथा अनुसन्धानमा विशेष भुमिका खेलेको छ । चाहे त्यो पृथ्वीको सन्दर्भमा होस् वा जलचक्रको बारेमा । बाइबलले नै आधुनिक विज्ञानको र वैज्ञानिकहरू जन्मायो भन्दा फरक नपर्ला ।विश्वको इतिहासको बारेमा हामीलाई उत्पत्ति १:१ ले बताउँछ । “आदिमा परमेश्वरले आकाश र पृथ्वी सृष्टि गर्नुभयो ।” बाइबलमा रहेका थुप्रै वैज्ञानिक तथ्यहरू वैज्ञानिक खोजद्वारा पत्ता लगाइनुभन्दा कयौँ शताब्दी अगाडी लेखिएका थिए । बाइबलमा हामी वैज्ञानिक तथ्यहरू मात्र पाउँदैनौँ तर बाइबलमाथि विश्वास गर्नेहरूले नै आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदय गराउनमा उल्लेखनीय भूमिका निवार्ह गरेका थिए भनी साक्षीहरूले देखाउँछन् ।द्दद्द अय्युब २६:७ ले पृथ्वी शून्यतामा झुन्डिएको छ भनेर बताउँछ । आधुनिक खगोल विज्ञानले हामीलाई बताउँछ कि पृथ्वी कुनै पनि थोक वा बस्तुमा अडिएको छैन । पृथ्वीको गु:रुत्वाकर्षण शक्तिको कारण पृथ्वी सूर्यको वरिपरि आफ्नो छुट्टै कक्षमा कसैको हस्तक्षेपविना नै शून्यतामा परिक्रमा गर्छ । यति मात्र होइन बाइबलले पृथ्वी गोलाकार छ भनेर पनि यशैया ४०:२२ मा बताएको छ । जियोडसी विज्ञानको एउटा शाखा हो जसद्वारा वैज्ञानिकहरूले पृथ्वीको आकार, गुरुत्वाकर्षण र घुमाइको मापन गर्छ । जियोडसीको मापनले यो पृथ्वी गोलो छ भन्ने देखाउँदछ । अन्तरिक्षबाट लिइएका चित्रहरूले पनि पृथ्वी चन्द्रमाजस्तै गोलो छ भनी देखाउँछ ।द्दद्ध बाइबलले आकाशमा ताराहरू अनगिन्ती छन भनेर पनि बताउँछ (यर्मिया ३३:२२) । यसरी आधुनिक विज्ञानको सुरुवात हुनु भन्दा पहिला नै बाइबलमा यी कुराहरूको बारेमा उल्लेख गरिएको थियो । यही कुराहरूलाई नै आधुनिक वैज्ञानिकहरूले आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदय गराएका थिए ।

यसरी नै आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदय गराउनको लागि ख्रीष्टियान वैज्ञानिकहरूको विशेष भुमिका छ । लुई पास्चरले रेविज रोगको बिरुद्धमा खोप निमार्ण गरेर लाखौ मानिसहरूको ज्यान बचाए । यति मात्र होइन शुन्यताबाट केही आउँदैन भन्ने तथ्य पनि प्रमाणित गरेर चाल्र्स डार्विनको विकासबाद सिद्धान्तलाई अप्रमाणित पनि गरेका थिए । पास्चर पनि बाइबलबाट प्रभाव परेको व्यक्तिका साथै ख्रीष्टका चेला थिए । अल्वर्ड आइन्सटाइन जसले गुरुत्वकार्षणको नियम पत्ता लगाए उनी पनि बाइबललाई मन पराउने व्यक्ति थिए । माइमल फराडे, सर आइज्याक न्यूटन, थोमथ अल्वा एडिसन, लुई पास्चर, रोवर्ट बोइले, जोहनन केप्लर आदी सबै बाइबललाई प्रेम गर्ने व्यक्तिहरू र बाइबलबाट प्रभावित भएका आधुनिक वैज्ञानिकहरू थिए जसले आधुनिक विज्ञानको उदयमा विशेष योगदानको भुमिका निर्वाह गरेको छ ।
