"Firstborn" faction

Elves, also known as the Firstborn, were created by Deity Nuadu in the beginning of time. Granted with almost infinite life span, the elves were designed to assist the Heavenly Brothers as the Keepers of peace and order in Arinar, protecting the Spear from infringement of Garaan-made jakkar-demons. Their long life allowed the elves to achieve great wisdom and sharpen natural skills with swords and bows.

However, the paucity of Nuadu’s children almost led them to elimination during the war against jakkars who craved for the Spear. Then Harad had created humans to make them faithful students and allies to the elves. However the hot temper of humankind became a reason of war between two Keepers races – and they clashed in bloody War of Moon and Sun. Only then, when both peoples understood how devastating the discord is, humans and elves signed Eternal peace.During the horrible years of War of Spear, the two races fought shoulder to shoulder against the Legion spawned by Garaan’s black breath.

After the glorious victory over the Damned King Orin’s army, the elves didn’t return to war-devastated Eternal forest where they lived since the beginning. They inhabited the north-eastern woods of Melwandil, which became an island after the Great Breaking. Until now the Firstborn worship Nuadu and strictly follow his precept – protect any life. The elven druids heal the wounds of earth, caused during the War of Spear planting new forests and saving the old ones, while the blade dancers and rangers carefully watch the borders of Melwendil for the signs of mountain tribes and undead.

The Council of Twelve, consisting of most eminent fighters and wizards of the Firstborn. Children of Nuadu keep good-neighbor relations with humans for a long time. However, the elves do not trust humans too much, treating them as younger brothers, although the Firstborn never had and never will get any other allies in Arinar. There’s an old-going rivalry between elves and Mountain Clans which never ceased through the ages. Yet, the undead stay the main enemy of the elves. For a long time the druids of the Council of Twelve watch the magical fluctuations in southern part of Arinar with fear – and the wisest of the Firstborn have no doubt that the Damned are plotting something.

"Mountain Clans" faction

The Mountain men are rough and fearless. Each of the clans inhabiting the rocky island Godgorrath starts their bloodline from this or that beast-forefather. The people of clans pay disdain and hatred towards those plainsmen. Only a few highlanders remember that many centuries ago their ancestors dwelt in plains amongst the humans.

But one day Berengar, a mighty chieftain and sorcerer, left the homelands with his tribe, cursing the arrogant elves and the humans who betrayed him. Berengar’s people inhabited the snowy mountains of Godgorrath and started their lives from scratch. With time their memory cleared up, they started resembling wild animals and even their language turned barking and croaking. The secret legends were passed from shaman to shaman – amongst the wisest highlanders. War craft is an only occupation worth a map –warriors of the Mountains, so-called barbarians, are considered as best fighters in Arinar by right. Those who won no military glory prefer to become rogues, betting on their faithful knife and cunning.

During the War of Spear the highlanders would have raised their weapons against the army of Damned who intruded to their lands, but Orin the Damned King wisely decided that the Mountain Clans who hate elves and humans might become his allies. His decision was correct – the best warriors of the Mountains joined the fearsome Legion. Defeated in the Last Battle, the mountain clans grew quiet for a time – during the Great Breaking which destroyed the once-whole continent, Godgorrath got surrounded by stormy seas.

The Mountain Clans learned navigation quick enough and started raiding the shores of hated humans and elves. Only the undead Legion, which remains in the memory of the Clans as all-destructive force, inspires respect and desire to co-exist peacefully in Mountain Clans. Moreover, Paramount Chieftain Berkus has got exhorted by the admonition of the Damned, dreams about revival of Legion in its former glory and about the new war against the Keepers.

Kaspersky Mobile Security 9

noreply@blogger.com (кђāįŗūŁ įzzūđįn) — Thu, 9 Sep 2010 02:33:00 -0700

Protect your mobile privacy
You make calls, send SMSs, browse the web and communicate via social networks every day. Your smartphone is your life. Kaspersky Mobile Security keeps your private life truly private.

Privacy Protection - for your eyes only

You have exclusive control over which of your contacts and phone numbers you want to keep ‘private’. Hide and unhide phonebook entries, SMSs and call logs at the touch of a button.

Locate a lost or stolen smartphone

You can locate a lost or stolen smartphone using the inbuilt GPS Find function.

Secure contacts, photos and files from unauthorized access

You can store all your digital assets in encrypted folders and remotely block or wipe your smartphone if it’s lost or stolen.

Block unwanted calls or SMSs

You can filter out annoying calls and SMSs by assigning contacts to black lists and white lists.

Parental control

You can restrict your children’s calls and SMSs (e.g. block premium rate numbers) and keep track of their whereabouts using GPS Find.

Protect your smartphone from malware and network attacks

Kaspersky Mobile Security 9 provides all you need to protect your smartphone from harm, including real-time antimalware scans, automatic updates, blocking of dangerous network connections and much more.

Encryption

Give sensitive information on your phone an extra level of security. Choose the folders on your smartphone that you want to encrypt and password-protect. Even if the folder is located on a memory card, it cannot be accessed from another phone or computer without the correct password.

Anti-Spam
Are trivial calls or messages distracting you at inopportune moments? Choose which contacts you want to accept calls and messages from. Anti-Spam can run in whitelist mode (only accepting calls and messages from specified contacts) or in blacklist mode (accepting calls and messages from all numbers except those on the list).

Parental Control

When installed on a child’s mobile, Kaspersky Mobile Security can block outgoing calls or SMSs to undesirable numbers, including premium rate services. GPS Find allows you to pinpoint exactly where your child is at any time of the day or night.

Anti-Malware Protection and Firewall
Kaspersky Mobile Security provides everything you need to keep your smartphone protected: realtime protection from malware, on-demand or scheduled antivirus scans, automatic updates over-the-air, and blocking of dangerous network connections in line with a predefined security level.

Anti-Theft

Remotely Block your phone if it is lost or stolen. Just send a predefined SMS to your phone and your device will be blocked and no-one will be able to access its contents. You can even choose to remotely Wipe your data.

Set a prearranged message that will be displayed on the screen if the smartphone is blocked, allowing any law-abiding citizen that finds your smartphone to return it to you.

You can locate your smartphone using GPS Find. Just send an SMS with the appropriate password to the missing device and you will receive a link to Google Maps showing the exact location of the device.

The first thing a thief normally does is to remove your smartphone’s SIM card. If the SIM is replaced, SIM Watch will immediately block the device and send you an email with the new number.

Python For S60v3

noreply@blogger.com (кђāįŗūŁ įzzūđįn) — Thu, 26 Aug 2010 05:35:00 -0700

Python for S60 gives you the power and productivity of the Python programming language to the S60 platform. Its tools permit rapid application development, and the ability to create stand-alone S60 applications written in Python. The device installation package includes the Python interpreter, select Python Standard Libraries, a script shell for launching Python scripts, many native extensions, and a Python Console for interactive development. Python for S60 can also be added to S60 SDK's for PC-based development, testing, and creating application installers. Basically we get a lot of new goodies with the new release and a few drawbacks.
Newest version - Pys60 1.9.4 - Here are thee improvements:

* A single Nokia signed runtime package which can be installed on all S60 3rd ED and above devices is available.(size with dependencies=2.8MB, actual size if runtime ~1MB)
* Improved Application Packager: The PyS60 application packager now scans the Python application being packaged and picks up the missing Python modules on which the application is dependent and packages them along with the application files.
* Easier runtime deployment: Python runtime and its dependent components can be installed by just running any Python application packaged using 1.9.4 application packager. (Only available from S60 3rd edition FP2 devices onwards with latest firmware).
* Two new APIs added to the socket module - access_points() and set_default_access_point() which have similar functionality to the APIs present in btsocket module.
* Two new APIs added to e32 module - get_capabilities() and has_capabilities(). The former can be used to get the capabilities, the application has been signed with, and the latter to check if a given list of capabilities is granted to the application or not.
* New mode to appuifw.app.screen - 'full_max' which can be used to achieve fullscreen on devices that don't have Left Soft Key and Right Soft Key(e.g.: Nokia 5800).
Pros:
PyS60 1.9.3 - updated to Python core 2.5.4, one of the dot releases in the 1.9.x series has been announced less than an hour ago!
Here is the list of improvements and what a list!
* Good news, the newer version now supports touch interfaces on the appuifw Canvas. An API has been added to the existing appuifw and the function - touch_enabled() is used for checking if the device supports touch input.
* Also a sample application - scribble - is provided with the installation.
* New module - sciptext makes PyS60 more poweful enabling/extending use of services like Application Manager, Calendar, Contacts, Landmarks, Location, Logging, Messaging, Media Management, Sensors and Sys Info.
* Easier installation - now only one file needs to be installed - PyS60 Script Shell (available from S60 3rd FP2 onwards). This should support all ensymble packaged applications in future releases.
* Enabled SSL support for socket.

* Better error handling. If the application raises an exception on start-up it doesn't just terminate silently but prints the traceback on the screen.
Cons:
* Much longer installation and start-up time. Really, you'll notice the difference. But like the thread says, this will be fixed.
* No support for S60 2nd Edition. Sadly, this part of the S60 family will no longer be supported now or in the future, because there are dependencies on OpenC libraries, which aren't available for 2nd Edition.
Notes:
* This release works on S60 5th Edition like the previous ones did, but it doesn't explicitly have any special features for it (like support for touch events).
* In a strange yet understandable way, the runtime isn't signed by Nokia with all capabilities like before. We only get the user-grantable set this time.
* Apparently PyS60 has moved from sourceforge and has a new home: https://garage.maemo.org/projects/pys60/
* The documentation no longer comes as a pdf file (at least this time it didn't) but as a much more comprehensive collection of HTML documents. I think this is better in pretty much every aspect.

Opera 8.65

noreply@blogger.com (кђāįŗūŁ įzzūđįn) — Wed, 25 Aug 2010 07:54:00 -0700

Opera Mobile 8.65 is first and foremost an upgrade to ensure compatibility with the latest S60 phones launched recently, in addition to general bug fixing. As a result, Opera Mobile is now tested and available for phones like Nokia E70, N73, N93. Today you can download the EMEA version, while the Americas and APAC (Asian-Pacific) versions will be added shortly.

However, what fun is an upgrade without something new...

With more people getting started with mobile browsing using Opera every day, we are determined to make it easier for everybody to get on the web, while still keeping the advanced functionality in place for experienced users.

* Opera 8.65 comes with an improved home page that makes it easy to go enter a Web address and go to your most frequently visited Web pages.

* With Opera 8.65 it’s more intuitive to enter text into form fields on Web pages. Simply start typing as soon as the form field has the focus, with no need to click first.

* The behaviour of shortcut keys has changed to make sure people doesn’t get confused by accidentally pressing the wrong key. This was also needed to allow for direct input in form fields. By default, Opera 8.65 has a two-key version of shortcut keys, where you press # + key. If you are a shortcut keys fan, you can still go back to one-key mode in settings.

* More content on the screen: With 8.65 we have reduced the size of the user interface, to make more room for the Web page content. Naturally you can still select Full screen, so the Web content uses the entire screen.

* For the advanced users: With Opera 8.65 we have put in some neat new functionality. Try “pencil key” + joystick to go Page left/right/up/down in desktop mode, or customize your keyboard to have these as shortcut keys. Zoom in/zoom out is now also available as shortcut keys.
