Jon and Kate Gosselin wanted the typical American dream; a happy marriage, healthy kids, and a safe home.

“Married life was all I had imagined and more. We were young, healthy, and ambitious, and it wasn’t long before baby fever set in. However, though I had always longed to be a mom, the perennial dark question ‘What if I can’t?’ accompanied my dream. I soon discovered I had a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Jon and I were devastated,” Kate said.

Despite their fears, the couple was able to get pregnant with twins, with the help of artificial insemination.

“I had everything I had ever hoped and prayed for: a loving and devoted husband, two chubby-cheeked, silky-haired, pint sized daughters, a cozy home, and a rewarding career as a neo-natal nurse. It was the American dream- but I was having dreams of another sort,” Kate said.

She couldn’t shake the desire to have one more baby, but the couple got more than they bargained for. Three years after giving birth to twin girls Madelyn and Cara, and after two rounds of artificial insemination, the couple discovered they were pregnant again - with sextuplets.

“I had a bazillion concerns: Would my babies live? Would the babies be healthy? How would we all fit into our house? How many diapers a day? A week? A year? What about clothes, food, and- oh my goodness-college?” Kate said.

The doctors urged the couple to consider selective reduction because doctors claimed that the lives of the the babies and Kate were in danger, but the couple refused.

“Jon and I believe that every life, whether a second old after conception or a full forty-week term, robustly healthy or horribly sick, fully developed or severely challenged-every life is designed and ordained from God,” Kate said.

Despite the concerns of the doctors, on May 10th, 2004, 30 weeks into the pregnancy, Kate went into labor. At 7:51 that morning, the tiny but healthy sextuplets were born by caesarean.

“Our doctor commented several times that having six out of six infants 100 percent healthy was an absolute miracle. We wholeheartedly agree,” she said.

Life in the Gosselin household changed forever that day. The next year proved to be a challenge.

“Did you ever read that stress chart? Pretty much, honestly, every one on there. A move or two; birth of 6 babies, not just one. Jon’s dad passed away. He was our most involved grandparent. That was a big blow. Jon was unemployed this entire time. We couldn’t pay our bills. Jon stood in line at the Salvation Army for heating assistance. We experienced a lot of guilt because we couldn’t afford two kids, let alone eight,” Kate said.

The physical stress of caring for eight children was extremely difficult for the family. In the first year alone, the Gosselins’ endured nearly 13,000 diaper changes, almost as many bottle feedings, and nearly 1,000 loads of laundry.

During the whirlwind years of pregnancies, preemies, marathon bottle preparation, mountains of laundry, and endless nights with very little sleep, Jon and Kate learned much about faith, life, love, and perseverance. In her new book, Kate shares some of those insights, her favorite Scripture verses, and some never before seen family photos.

“Through this experience without a doubt, we’ve come out of it realizing how much God loves us and how much He wants to bless us,” Kate said. “I just think it’s an amazing journey. When I look at it and when I read it, that’s our story that we lived; but it’s God’s story that He gave to us. So, if I can encourage one Mom to just keep going, I think it’s worth it.”

Kate dedicated this new book to her eight children, Cara, Madelyn, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. The twins are nine and the sextuplets are five.

All BART stations have accessible elevators. In some stations you may need to use two different elevators to get from the street to the train platform level. If you arrive at a BART station and are unable to enter or exit the station because the elevator is not working, contact the Station Agent. They will help you enter or exit in another way if possible, or refer you to an alternate means of transportation such as a bus or paratransit.

If you find out in advance that an elevator is not working at the station you want to go to, call the BART Transit Information Center to find out what transit alternatives are available to you. To check the status of elevator operation at any station, call (510) 834-LIFT or (888) 2-ELEVAT. In case of fire, do not use the elevators.

If you need to communicate with the Station Agent while inside the elevator, use the emergency telephone. If the Station Agent does not answer within 90 seconds, your call will be directed to BART Central Dispatch. If the emergency telephone is picked up for at least two minutes but there is no voice communication, BART will treat this as a call for assistance. This ensures that help is available to elevator passengers even if they are unable to speak.

All BART stations have escalators. Generally, the escalators operate in the direction of main passenger flow, which varies depending on the time of day and location. Where possible, escalator service is provided in both directions. To ensure your safety and the safety of others, be sure to hold on to the handrail while using the escalators. Wheelchairs are not allowed on the escalators. To check the status of escalator operation at any station, call the BART Transit Information Center.

Stations with parking have specially designated disabled person (DP) parking spaces. If you're using a DP parking space at a station that has daily parking fees, you are required to pay the established parking fees at times when those fees are in effect. Check the parking section for more details.

Stand behind the wide yellow strip of textured rubber tiles that runs along the length of all BART platforms. These tiles can be detected with a cane or foot. Black rubber tiles are used to mark the approximate location of train doors when the train pulls into the station. In some stations, an extra row of black tiles marks the entrance to the two middle cars of the train. Exact door locations may vary. Do not approach the train until it comes to a complete stop.

The Train Operator will wait for you to enter. It is generally preferable for passengers in wheelchairs to enter and exit the train with the rear wheels first or at a slight angle. If possible, position the wheelchair at a right angle to the direction of train travel in the clear area near the door. Lock the wheelchair’s brakes. In some BART cars, a space to the right of the door is reserved for passengers in wheelchairs. The international access symbol marks the outside of these cars.

BART has a policy governing the use of Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices (EPAMDs) within the system. The policy covers all battery-powered, self-balancing, two-wheeled transporters, including the Segway Personal Transporter. Read more about EPAMD use and permits.

Passengers with disabilities may ride with their trained service animal. Service animals must be leashed and kept on the floor and out of the aisles as much as possible, and must be under the control of their owners at all times.

Train Operators announce the name of each station as the train approaches. Signs indicating the station name are also visible from inside the train. When leaving the train, move to the doors just prior to arrival. The train may adjust its position at the platform before the doors open.

BART provides ADA paratransit service to eligible individuals whose disability prevents them from accessing, boarding or riding BART trains. Service is provided by lift vans and sedans and is generally by reservation only. For more information, visit the Paratransit page.

Last Will And Testament Of Elvis A. Presley, Deceased Filed August 22, 1977 Last Will And Testament of Elvis Presley I, Elvis A. Presley, a resident and citizen of Shelby County, Tennessee, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this instrument to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all wills and codicils by me at any time heretofore made. Item I Debts, Expenses and Taxes I direct my Executor, hereinafter named, to pay all of my matured debts and my funeral expenses, as well as the costs and expenses of the administration of my estate, as soon after my death as practicable. Presley, and (4) such other relatives of mine living at the time of my death who in the absolute discretion of my Trustees are in need of emergency assistance for any of the above mentioned purposes and the Trustee is able to make such distribution without affecting the ability of the trust to meet the present needs of the first three numbered categories of beneficiaries herein mentioned or to meet the reasonably expected future needs of the first three classes of beneficiaries herein mentioned. Any decision of the Trustee as to whether or not distribution, to any of the persons described hereunder shall be final and conclusive and not subject to question by any legatee or beneficiary hereunder. (c) Upon the death of my Father, Vernon E. Presley, the Trustee is instructed to make no further distributions to the fourth category of beneficiaries and such beneficiaries shall cease to have any interest whatsoever in this trust. (d) Upon the death of both my said father and my said grandmother, the Trustee is directed to divide the Residuary Trust into separate and equal trusts, creating one such equal trust for each of my lawful children then surviving and one such equal trust for the living issue collectively, if any, of any deceased child of mine. The share, if any, for the issue of any such deceased child, shall immediately vest in such issue in equal shares but shall be subject to the provisions of Item V herein. Separate books and records shall be kept for each trust, but it shall not be necessary that a physical division of the assets be made as to each trust. The Trustee may from time to time distribute the whole or any part of the net income or principal from each of the aforesaid trusts as the Trustee, in its uncontrolled discretion, considers necessary or desirable to provide for the comfortable support, education, maintenance, benefit and general welfare of each of my children. Such distributions may be made directly to such beneficiary or to the guardian of the person of such beneficiary and without repsonsibilty on my Trustee to see to the application of nay such distributions and in making such distributions, the Trustee shall take into account all other sources of funds known by the Trustee to be available for each respective beneficiary for such purpose. (e) As each of my respective children attains the age of twenty-five (25) years and provided that both my father and my grandmother are deceased, the trust created hereunder for such child care terminate, and all the remainder of the assets then contained in said trust shall be distributed to such child so attaining the age of twenty-five (25) years outright and free of further trust. (f) If any of my children for whose benefit a trust has been created hereunder should die before attaining the age of twenty- five (25) years, then the trust created for such a child shall terminate on his death, and all remaining assets then contained in said trust shall be distributed outright and free of further trust and in equal shares to the surviving issue of such deceased child but subject to the provisions of Item V herein; but if there be no such surviving issue , then to the brothers and sisters of such deceased child in equal shares, the issue of any other deceased child being entitled collectively to their deceased parent's share. Nevertheless, if any distribution otherwise becomes payable outright and free of trust under the provisions of this paragraph (f) of the Item IV of my will to a beneficiary for whom the Trustee is then administering a trust for the benefit of such beneficiary under provisions of this last will and testament, such distribution shall not be paid outright to such beneficiary but shall be added to and become a part of the trust so being administered for such beneficiary by the Trustee. Item V Distribution to Minor Children If any share of corpus of any trust established under this will become distributable outright and free of trust to any beneficiary before said beneficiary has attained the age of eighteen (18) years, then said share shall immediately vest in said beneficiary, but the Trustee shall retain possession of such share during the period in which such beneficiary is under the age of eighteen (18) years, and, in the meantime, shall use and expend so much of the income and principal for the care, support, and education of such beneficiary, and any income not so expended with respect to each share so retained all the power and discretion had with respect to such trust generally. Item VI Alternate Distributees In the event that all of my descendants should be deceased at any time prior to the time for the termination of the trusts provided for herein, then in such event all of my estate and all the assets of every trust to be created hereunder (as the case may be) shall then distributed outright in equal shares to my heirs at law per stripes. Item VII Unenforceable Provisions If any provisions of this will are unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall, nevertheless, be carried into effect. Item VIII Life Insurance If my estate is the beneficiary of any life insurance on my life at the time of my death, I direct that the proceeds therefrom will be used by my Executor in payment of the debts , expenses and taxes listed in Item I of this will, to the extent deemed advisable by the Executor. All such proceeds not so used are to be used by my Executor for the purpose of satisfying the devises and bequests contained in Item IV herein. Item IX Spendthrift Provision I direct that the interest of any beneficiary in principal or income of any trust created hereunder shall not be subject to claims of creditors or others, nor to legal process, and may not be voluntarily or involuntarily alienated or encumbered except as herein provided. Any bequests contained herein for any female shall be for her sole and separate use, free from the debts, contracts and control of any husband she may ever have. Item X Proceeds From Personal Services All sums paid after my death (either to my estate or to any of the trusts created hereunder) and resulting from personal services rendered by me during my lifetime, including, but not limited to, royalties of all nature, concerts, motion picture contracts, and personal appearances shall be considered to be income, notwithstanding the provisions of estate and trust law to the contrary. Item XI Executor and Trustee I appoint as executor of this, my last will and testament, and as Trustee of every trust required to be created hereunder, my said father. I hereby direct that my said father shall be entitled by his last will ant testament, duly probated, to appoint a successor Executor of my estate, as well as a successor Trustee or successor Trustees of all the trusts to be created under my last will and testament. If, for any reason, my said father be unable to serve or to continue to serve as Executor and/or as Trustee, or if he be deceased and shall not have appointed a successor Executor or Trustee, by virtue of his last will and testament as stated -above, then I appoint National Bank of Commerce, Memphis, Tennessee, or its successor or the institution with which it may merge, as successor Executor and/or as successor Trustee of all trusts required to be established hereunder. None of the appointees named hereunder,including any appointment made by virtue of the last will and testament of my said father, shall be required to furnish any bond or security for performance of the respective fiduciary duties required hereunder, notwithstanding any rule of law to the contrary. Item XII Powers, Duties, Privileges and Immunities of the Trustee Except as otherwise stated expressly to the contrary herein, I give and grant to the said Trustee (and to the duly appointed successor Trustee when acting as such) the power to do everything he deems advisable with respect to the administration of each trust required to be established under this, my last will and Testament, even though such powers would not be authorized or appropriate for the Trustee under statutory or other rules of law. By way of illustration and not in limitation of the generality of the foregoing grant of power and authority of the Trustee, I give and grant to him plenary power as follows: (a) To exercise all those powers authorized to fiduciaries under the provisions of the Tennessee Code Annotated, Sections 35-616 to 35-618, inclusive, including any amendments thereto in effect at the time of my death, and the same are expressly referred to and incorporated herein by reference. (b) Plenary power is granted to the Trustee, not only to relieve him from seeking judicial instruction, but to the extent that the Trustee deems it to be prudent, to encourage determinations freely to be made in favor of persons who are the current income beneficiaries. Madonna's New York neighbour is after her money craving some peace and quiet after Madonna's reported love of blaring music and hi-energy dance sessions left her walls shaking.

Karen George, who lives above Madonna in a building on Central Park, filed a lawsuit on Friday claiming Madge is using her apartment as a rehearsal studio, forcing her neighours to deal with "blaring music, stomping and shaking walls," for up to three hours every day.

The disgruntled neighbour complained of "unreasonably high-decibel, amplified music" and vibrations that shook the ceilings, walls and radiators of the building.

Apparently the building's board has already threatened to evict Madonna.

Smartphones have lock-screens that usually require some swiping gesture to unlock. This is so the capacitative screen doesn’t accidentally unlock in your pocket. These lockscreens come in all shapes and sizes; some reqiure swiping left to right, others upwards. A trend started by, I think, Windows Mobile, allows you to swipe-unlock directly into an app. For example, you receive a text message, turn on your phone, see there’s a new message and swipe towards the messaging app to read it. See also screenshot above from the MIUI Android distribution. That’s smart, right?

But what about security? Your smartphone holds your entire digital life. Should your phone be snatched in a bar, the hardware itself might not be the only thing you get stolen — your Google account perhaps being a more severe loss than the $500 phone. Which is why you should have some sort of security code as your lock screen, no matter if that’s a number code or a security pattern.

The short of it is, everyone should go through this hassle to unlock their phones, at which point the fanciness of swiping directly into an app is lost. Would the time spent working on hi-tech lockscreens be better spent improving the homescreen? I’d say so.

Galnet MIUI 2.2.10. Can't boot into recovery? When I was on the stock Verizon ROM I was able to simply run the Droid 2 Bootstrapper and it booted into recovery. From there I installed this Galnet MIUI ROM. I'd like to check out some other ROMS but I cannot get CWM to install.

In ROM Manager 3.0.1.4 I tap on Flash CWM and it says "An error occurred while downloading your recovery"

I tried installing the D2 bootstrapper and when I click on boot into recovery my device simply reboots back into MIUI and everything has been reset to default. I'm kind of new at all this and tried searching but didn't really come up with a solution. I've heard something about SBF but not sure what that is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

C oco Chanel lived at the Ritz in Paris but worked and entertained within walking distance at Rue Cambon. There are four floors: the Chanel store is at street level, haute couture dressing rooms are on the second floor, her apartment is on the third, and her workshop is on the fourth. The rooftop of the building is said to have some of the best views of Paris.

The photos above show Chanel’s sitting room and a chandelier that featured interlocking 5′s and C’s.

Below is a photo of the famous faceted mirrored spiral staircase that Chanel designed. It connected all four levels of her apartment and made it possible for her to stand in one spot and see what was happening on every floor.

In the photo below you can see the Chinese screens that she split and used as wallpaper. They feature her favorite flower, the Camellia, which she often used in her designs.

Chanel lived here until her death in 1971, and everything has been frozen in time. She didn’t actually sleep here, though–there is no bedroom in the flat. Instead, she kept a private suite at the Ritz across the street.

Jon Gosselin's NYC Apartment Ransacked

Jon Gosselin returned to New York after spending Christmas in Pennsylvania with his eight children to discover his apartment had been burglarized.

"[He] called me this afternoon . . . when he entered his apartment in Manhattan and was horrified, disheartened and saddened to observe the devastation of his furniture, clothing and personal belongings, which were apparently slashed with a butcher knife by a very troubled and sick perpetrator," Gosselin's lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, said in a statement Saturday. "Jon immediately contacted me and facilitated the able assistance of the New York City Police Department who immediately dispatched an experienced detective to Jon’s apartment."

According to Heller, Gosselin, 32, discovered a note that was "speared" into his wooden dresser. Heller also says that Gosselin's television, CD player, coffee maker, a Nintendo Wii game and dishes, pots and pans were stolen from the New York apartment, while some of his clothing, luggage and bedding was slashed.

"The greatest damage from this vicious, mean spirited and heartless crime was perpetrated not on Jon’s property and possessions, but on Jon Gosselin himself, who experienced a traumatic, emotional, roller coast ride having just shared a joyful family gathering with his children during their Christmas," Heller's statement read.

Barwin's father Thomas has been the village manager of Oak Park, Illinois since August 14, 2006 and had previously served in a similar capacity in Ferndale, Michigan beginning in March 1998.

Barwin attended the University of Detroit Jesuit High School . As a senior he was an All-state selection and earned All-League, All-Catholic, and All-District honors. He was also an All-League selection in basketball as a junior and All-Catholic as a senior.

Barwin played college football at the University of Cincinnati . As a freshman in 2005 Barwin played in all 11 games as a backup tight end finishing with eight receptions for 144 yards and one touchdown . In early January he joined the basketball team playing in 16 games as a backup forward.

As a sophomore in 2006, Barwin played in all 13 games as a regular on special teams and as a backup tight end. He finished the season with 13 receptions for 148 yards and two touchowns. He also played in 23 games for the basketball team, after joining the team as a walk-on . As a junior in 2007, Barwin played special teams, as well as a backup tight end, playing in 12 games. He caught 31 passes for 399 yards, and two touchdowns.

In 2008 Barwin was moved to defensive end . He finished the season with 53 tackles , and a Big East and team-leading 12 sacks . He also had 20 quarterback pressures, eight pass deflections, three fumble recoveries, and three blocked kicks. His play helped him earn First-team All- Big East honors honorable mention All-America as well as the Claude Rost Award, which is given to the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Barwin finished his college career with 16 starts in 51 games (14 at defensive end, one at tight end, one at H-Back) recording 66 tackles, 12 sacks, three fumble recoveries, eight deflected passes, five blocked kicks, and 53 receptions for 692 yards and six touchdowns.

Barwin ran a 4.47-second 40-time at his Pro Day according to the University of Cincinnati's timer.

Barwin was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft . On October 18, 2009 Barwin recorded his first NFL sack against the Cincinnati Bengals Carson Palmer .

Barwin's 2010 season was cut extremely short when he left the Texans' 2010 opener against the Indianapolis Colts with an ankle injury and was announced out for the season Monday.

Barwin's 2011 season has become very productive in the absence of OLB Mario Williams . Barwin established a career-best ten tackles and a new franchise record for sacks with four in the Texans' 20–13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field on November 27. Williams had previously held the sack mark with 3.5.Currently, Barwin has 34 tackles (25 solo tackles and 9 assisted) and a very impressive 11.5 sacks including one for a safety against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Since 1958, Sir Adam Beck 2 Generating Station has captured that potential energy in one of Ontario's largest hydroelectric facilities. This magical attraction features over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. Paths wind through the rainforest setting, past a pond and waterfall and the Emergence window, where butterflies prepare to take their first flight!
