He became one of the most honorable political leaders of Indian history. He struggled to free India from the British rule through a new way of non-violence. He was honored by the people as the Father of the Indian Nation. He was greatly respected and was called by the people as ‘Babuji’ (Father). He lived as a simple man and with his great personality he won the hearts of lakh of people. He was known for his honesty and simplicity. He believed in truth and till his death, he followed the route of truth and non violence way to get freedom.

In his childhood, Mohandas was greatly moved by the Harishchandra drama, and this influenced him to believe in truth and made to struggle for its stability. At 13 years of age, he got married to kasturba as engaged by his parents. His wife, kasturba gave a supporting hand and encouraged him in all his works. They were blessed with four sons, harilal, Manilal, Ramdas and Devdas. Although Gandhi showed loving and kindness to every people, he was quite severe with his family.

Gandhi went to London to train as a barrister for 3 years. In 1893, he went to South Africa on a legal work, those days it was under the control of British and he saw that there was a racial discrimination between the different races. All the Indian immigrants over there were treated badly and abusively. This made Gandhi to stay there for the period of 22 years for securing the rights of Indian people. There he participated in the battle of Boyer from 1899-1902 and in juludhange (1906) and started the protest for the rights of Indian people in South Africa. In this period he developed a peaceful method of protest called Satyagraha. Gandhi believed that non violence and civil disobedience was the only method to obtain their social rights. As the result of this protest, in 1914, the South African Government accepted many of the Gandhi`s demands and this was his first victory for his truthfulness.

In1915, Gandhi returned back to India. For the first time he led the campaign of Satyagraha on behalf of Plantation workers in Bihar. In 1919, he actively participated in the National movement against the Rowlett Act, which led to the Jallianwala bagh massacre by the British troops in Punjab. This massacre resulted in the deaths of 1200 innocent people and many more injured. Gandhi continued to protest severely and in the same year he also participated in the khilafat movement on the behalf of kalifer in turkey against the British troops.

In 1920, Gandhi was recognized as an important person in Indian politics. He transformed the Indian national congress, which intended in a peaceful non cooperation movement. People refused to use the goods manufactured by the British, thousands of students left their educational institutions, and government employees boycotted their organizations. The Great Nationalist Subhash Chandra Bose resigned from the Indian Civil service. The famous poet Rabindranath Tagore returned his Night hood award.
British Government took critical measures, banned the congress committee and prohibited the outdoor social gatherings. As a result the great leaders like Motilal Nehru, his son Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, and C. R. Das were arrested. At the place called Chauri-Chaura, near Gorakhpur village, a group of activists broke the non violence and violently attacked the nearby police station. Because of this act, Gandhi took back the non cooperation movement, inspite of the refusal of many patriots. This shows Gandhi`s commitment towards his truthfulness.

In 1920, the relationship between Hindus and Muslims was getting worsened, that time Gandhi was sentenced to imprisonment. Gandhi felt disheartened hearing about the news; he could not believe that our own bloods are hurting each others. As soon as he was released from the prison, in 1924, he underwent fasting (‘Upavasa’) for 21 days. As a result, all party meeting held in Mumbai and Gandhi was requested to withdraw his upavasa. But after some days the fight continued between Hindus and Muslims. He withdrew from the politics; to devote in improving Hindu-Muslim relations was in serious condition.

In 1930, Gandhi announced a new campaign of civil disobedience in the protest against the tax on salt, leading thousands of people on a ‘dandi March’ from Sabarmati ashram to west coast of dandi to symbolically make their own salt from seawater. Around 90,000 people, along with Gandhi were arrested and everybody felt it as an honor going to jail.

In 1931, a round table Conference was held in London and Gandhi attended the conference as a sole representative of the Indian National Congress. But he could not get any result from the conference meeting. He resigned from the party in 1934 in protest at its use of non violence as political expedient. Gandhi was replaced by Jawaharlal Nehru.

In 1945, the British government under the charge of Mountbatten concluded to grant freedom to India in the year 1947, by partitioning into India and Pakistan. Millions of people were died in the violent attacks between Hindus and Muslims. Gandhi was always against the partition but there was no alternative choice as it could have led to Civil war. On January 13, 1948, he aged 78, underwent fasting with the purpose of stopping the bloodshed caused by the calamity. He was assassinated by a fellow Hindu fanatic, Nathuram godse, who felt that Gandhi was disloyal to the Hindus. Our great spiritually respected leader became the great soul (Mahatma) of India.
“Satya Meva Jayathe”

“The way of peace is a way of truth”
_ Mahatma Gandhi

Whole World Salutes Him.......

Mahatma Gandhi's greatness spread all over the world. Whole world salutes him.

When I was reading articles about him, I found article which tells that A greatest scientist Albert Einstein has Gandhiji's photo in his bed room. He was also so much interested in writing articles. As we discussed about this, he said I want to write article to ur web blog giving some list of great pearls of names. In those great names, he choose to write on Bhagat Singh – A great patriot of Indian History. Before publishing it, I read entire article and I said I am ready to publish this articles as this was so interesting. One more important thing I would like to say is that the articles which I am publishing, if u find interesting please leave comments so that we can improve our self .Next I don’t want to disturb u all by writing so much about this in my words please proceed further in the below article.

Bhagat Singh – The Martyr :

Bhagat Singh – A great patriot of Indian History, Who do not know Bhagat Singh, entire world know him and his greatness, his personality. We come across many articles, books , lessons ,dramas which were based on his work and his achievements .This is a small article which I wanted to share my thoughts and words about him and I am thankful my friend who gave me an opportunity to write and publish this article on his blog. About Bhagat Singh, he was born on September 27th, 1907 in the Khatkar Kalan village in the Lyallpur district of Punjab, which is now belongs to Pakistan.Sardar Kishan Singh and Vidyavati were Bhagat Singhs parents, they were greatly involved in freedom struggle. This created a great impact on Bhagat Singh’s mind and the patriotism started in his heart.

In 1916, during his schooling in DAV School in Lahore, he met with the famous political leaders Lala Lajpat Rai and Ras Bihari Bose. In 1919, he was 12 years of age, he heard that politically charged on Punjab and Bhagat Singh was led by these leaders. He was totally disturbed by the Jalianwala bagh massacre, which had resulted in nearly 1200 innocents death.Soon after the brutal incident ,he pledged to redeem his nation’s privilege by avenging the massacre. He strengthened his spirit to kick back the British rule from India.

In 1921, Bhagat Singh left his school and joined the non-cooperation movement against British rule.He was greatly disappointed, when Mahatma Gandhi said , the Non-cooperation movement against violence at chauri-chaura in Gorakhpur. He lost his faith in Non violence, took the route of violence, which he considered as the only way to gain freedom. He joined the National College in Lahore, founded by Lala Lajpat Rai. . He joined the National College in Lahore, founded by Lala lajpat Rai. This College was the centre of revolutionary activities and here he met with revolutionaries Bhagwati charan, Sukhdev and others.

Bhagat Singh ran away from his home to escape early marriage. Here, he met the revolutionary, named Ganesh Shankar vidyarthi, and learnt many things about revolutionary. He moved to Lahore, formed Naujavan Bharat Sabha and started spreading the message of revolution in Punjab. He also joined the Hindustan Republican Association at the request of Professor Vidyalankar, which was then headed by Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan. In 1928 at a revolutionaries meeting, he met Chandrasekhar azad and together formed Hindustan samajvadi prajatantra sangha, which aimed at establishing a republic India by means of an armed revolution.

A committee called Simon commission was sent to visit India from England. Its mission was to decide whether to give Poorna rajya (full freedom) or Ardha Rajya (half freedom) to India. No Indian leaders were called for the committee, this made the Indians angry and they boycotted the Simon commission. In the protest against Simon commission, Lala lajpat rai was violently lathicharged and he suffered from great injury finally led to his death. Bhagat singh decided to take revenge for Lala lajpat rai`s death by shooting the British official responsible for his death. By mistake he shot down assistant superintendant Saunders instead of inspector general Scott. He absconded from Lahore to escape from arrest.

British government took forcible measures to get the situation under control without finding the root cause for the incident. Under the Indian Defense Act, it gave power to the police to arrest protesters with suspicious movements and actions. On April 8, 1929, the act brought in the Central legislative Assembly was defeated by one vote. But the act was passed in the form of ordinance considering public interest. Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw bombs in the Central Assembly Hall when the assembly was in session. The bombs thrown in the Assembly Hall were weaker ones, it was dropped safely at the middle of the stage, so that it does not kill or injure anybody. Bhagat singh and Batukeshwar Dutt knew that after this act they would be arrested and punished severely, but this was done to bring awareness in people, so that they can fight against the brutality of British government and make our motherland free from slavery.
After the arrest of Bhagat singh and Batukeshwar Dutt, many revolutionaries like Sukh dev, Raj guru were also got arrested and were produced in the court. They proudly declared the intention behind the bombing act and everyone shouted with a slogan “Inquilaab sindaabad” (Long live the revolution), this brought great impact on Indians mind. Meanwhile some of the friends of Bhagat singh became approvers and the killers of sanders were revealed. During his trial, Bhagat Singh refused to employ any defence counsel. In jail, he went on hunger strike to protest the inhuman treatment of fellow-political prisoners by jail authorities. On October 7, 1930 Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev and Raj Guru were awarded death sentence by a special tribunal for terrorist activities.

The news was spread, throughout the India like a forest fire and people came to know about the young warriors who fought bravely for their motherland and hearing about their death sentence, people could not control their impulse and their viens were roaring with fire, everywhere the protest against the cruel act of British government started. The hanging date was set on March 24, 1931. British government was frightened of backlash by the Indian people, so they made the preparations to hang them a day earlier. Many of the political leaders of India were against this decision; inspite of that it was decided to execute this decision. Even their family members were not allowed to meet them. Everybody`s heart was filled with inexpressible depression, a death atmosphere prevailed everywhere in India.

On the day of hanging, Bhagat singh, sukh dev and raj guru had a cheerful smile on their face. They were proud of giving their lives for their motherland, they were eager to lay their heads on the lap of Mother India. At last, the time came on March 23, 1931, while there was a depression in the hearts of Indians throughout India, Bhagat singh, Sukh dev and Raj guru climbed the platform of the death, kissed the rope, and they themselves put it around the neck, with the ”Bharat Mata” slogan on their lips and leaved their breath. Bhagat singh was just 23 years old, when he was hanged. It was like motherland felt proud of giving birth to such a person and took him with her forever.

Bhagat singh and his associates sacrificed their lives in the dream of a free India, where the Indians could live a perfect peaceful life and liberty. Because of the sacrifice of such great people, today we are enjoying the fruit of freedom. Bhagat singh may be not alive, but he lives in the heart of every Indians. His passion and courage towards his Motherland is stunning and he is living as a role model for every youth`s of India. Now, it is up to us, to which extent we will succeed in protecting it from the eyes of Evil people. “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.

Jai Hind,

Jai Bharath Matha

Article by Chandrashekar

Pearls of India ......

2nd Pearl of India - Mother Theresa

Today I am going to write some small articles about the second pearl of the India, who is world famous and also gods greatest gift to earth.
