by Md Delower Hossain

Cancer is An abnormal growth of cells which tend to proliferate in an uncontrolled way and, in some cases, to metastasize (spread).Cancer is not one disease. It is a group of more than 100 different and distinctive diseases.

Cancer can involve any tissue of the body and have many different forms in each body area. Most cancers are named for the type of cell or organ in which they start. If a cancer spreads (metastasizes), the new tumor bears the same name as the original (primary) tumor.
The frequency of a particular cancer may depend on gender. While skin cancer is the most common type of malignancy for both men and women, the second most common type in men is prostate cancer and in women, breast cancer.
COMMON TYPES OF CANCER
A. Bone Cancer
B. Brain Cancer
C. Breast Cancer
D. Endocrine Cancer
E. Gastrointestinal Cancer
F. Gynecologic Cancer
G. Head & Neck Cancer
H. Leukemia
I. Lung Cancer
J. Lymphoma
K. Multiple Myeloma
L. Prostate Cancer
M. Skin Cancer
N. Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Importance of early detection of cancer symptoms
Since the cancer cells grow at a fast pace, if you are not able to read cancer symptoms early enough, the cancer might become completely incurable. If the cancer symptoms are diagnosed in the early stages (and if the cancer is localised to just one organ), you might actually be able to get a cure for cancer. So, early detection of cancer symptoms is quite important in determining your chances of survival. Moreover, if the cancer symptoms are not recognised quickly and diagnosis sought, cancer can spread to other organs too (which might make it completely incurable).
Pro-active detection of cancer symptoms
Cancer symptoms can be detected at a very stage by being proactive e.g. by going for cancer screening tests that help see the cancer symptoms early enough for curative action to be effective. In fact, too much of a delay could lead to curative action being not possible at all.
Super Foods
It is thought that up to one third of cancer related deaths could be diet related.
Many of the foods we eat today can in fact be harmful to the cells in our bodies, particularly 'fast food', which often contains high rates of saturated fat.
A large European study has recently shown that 'junk food' may in fact be a major cause of cancer of the pancreas, the urinary tract and of the womb, which makes saturated fat especially dangerous for women. There is however, an abundance of super foods that contain cancer fighting anti-oxidants and enzymes. These foods fall into a number of categories and it is best to look at their properties separately.

A.K.

Arabia is a compact country situated at the south western corner of Asia. Nearly fifteen hundred years ago the Arabs were divided amongst themselves into many tribes, sects and groups. There was no central Government that could dominate the whole of Arabia. As a matter of fact, there were as many Governments in Arabia as there were tribes. In the absence of any centralised Government there were tribal wars which continued for decades. One sect would often fight with another; feuds and bloodshed were almost a daily affair. The people were selfish and corrupt and ninety-nine percent of them were illiterate. The Arabs had neither any common religious bond or national unity. They wer superstitious. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be on him), one of the greatest religious heroes of the world and the Prophet of Islam, was born on the 29th August, 570 A.D. He gave the light of knowledge.

Hazrat Muhammad was born in a Quraish family. His father was Abdullah and mother Amina. His father died while he was in the womb of his mother. He also lost his mother early in life and was brought up by a nurse named Halima. His grandfather was Abdul Muttalib. The charge of the little boy fell upon his grandfather and subsequently, upon his uncle who was a very pious man and famous for his rigid moral Principles.

At that time the condition of Arabia, as is already said, was really very deplorable. The Quraish were then the most powerful tribe in the land. Vice and corruption reigned everywhere. People took delight in leading unrestrained lives. They were idolaters and the true knowledge of Allah was yet far from them. Like all other prophets and great men, Hazrat's early life was a lifee of pain and suffering. These sufferings could not darken his noble vision, but gave him more sympathy for his fellowmen.

Muhammad had a religious turn of mind even from his child hood. From his boy hood he was trusted by all. That is why he was known as 'Al-Amin'. He hated luxury and other deluding and vain pleasures. He wanted to receive the true light from Allah. He was fond of conquests and sometimes his uncle sent him to suppress robbers.

When Hazrat was twenty-five, a great change came over him. He married a beautiful, wealthy and accomplished widow of forty named Khadija. This was a turning point in his life. She was the devoted wife of the Prophet and was first initiated into the religion of her husband. She was a great admirer of Muhammad and to the last day of her life she remained close to him.

Muhammad (Peace be on him) was not pleased with the Arabian society of his time nor did he like the religion of the Arabs. On finishing his regular duties of the day he used to go to a solitary mountain cave known as Hera. There he passed hours together in deep meditation. He had devoted himself for many years to deep meditation before he attained Nabuwat at the age of forty. To him was revealed that Allah is one He is the Lord of the universe. The holy Quran was revealed to him through Gabriel. He was taught by Allah and was ordained by HIm to preach Islam. He was the last of the prophets and messengers from Allah. He brought from Him many good tidangs for mankind. He was ordained to preach, "There is no otheri god than Allah and Muhammad is sent by Him".

The Arabs were idolaters. They became angry with the new religion preached by Hazrat Muhammad. At first there was none to accept his religion except his own wife, Khadija and his great friend, Ali. His enemies conspired together to kill him. Muhammad came to know of this and fled to Medina with Abu Bakr. When Abu Bakr said on the way, "We are only two," the Prophet at once replied, "No, we are three; Allah is with us". So great was his faith in Allah. ON another occasion he was sleeping under a tree. When he woke up he saw an enemy standing with a big knife ready to kill him. "Who will save you now?" said the enemy. "Allah", was Hazrat's reply. Suddenly the knife fell down from the enemy's hand. Hazrat picked it up and said, "Who will save you now?" The man got nervous and replied, "None". The Prophet then advised him to be modest and to have faith in Allah. So saying the returned the knife to the man. The man was won over to Islam at once.

The date of the flight of Hazrat from Mecca to Medina marks the era, 'Hijri'. At Medina he was cordially received and the people there gave him the charge of the Government. So Muhammad had the state power behind him. There were several trials of strength between the followers of Islam and the nonn-beevers. The Quraish waged a war against Islam and the Prophet. The Prophet with the help of his followers defended Islam by defeating the enemies in the Battle of Badar. He had to fight many battles against the enemies of Islamtill the conquest of Macca.

Muhammad conquered Mecca and unfurled the banner of Islam over the whole of Arabia. He then converted the survivors to his religion. The Jews were also defeated and the Muslims became a new race united by their faith in Islam. The new faith gave them strength and inspiration. Thought Muhammad himself was illiterate, he encouraged the Arabs to acquire knowledge. When the people would demand some miracles from him he would say, "That a great book, like the holy Quran, has been revealed to en illiterate man like Muhammad is itself a miracle". He would very often say, "The ink of a literate man is more valuable than the blood of a martyr."

In his death-bed his daughter Fatema, wife of Hazrat Ali, was beside him. The day before his death, he remembered that he had seven dinars still with him. He called several poor men and gave them the seven coins. For, he did not like to leave behind him any wealth. He came to this world empty-handed and went away also empty-handed. The man who saw the light of Allah did not require anything else here or hereafter. Such were the Prophet's noble life and the message to the faithful. The great Prophet Passed away in 631 A.D.

The proverb is of great importance to us as a guide trough life. If we follow it, we may be saved from all those injuries which arise from our neglect. We are naturally averse to repair a small defect. We at first regard it as a trifle. This trifle, if left to itself, does not take long to become a serious matter. When it grown to be so, it proves either difficult of cure or if it is easily cured the cure is effected not without a large expenditure of time and labour and money. So every defect, however small it may be, should be mended at the very outset. Nothing grows so quickly as an evil. If a small hole appears in a coat, it should at once be mended. One stitch may, perhaps, set it right. If the stitch is not given in time the hole grown larger and larger. One hole makes several others. In this way, the coat reaches a condition beyond all mending. It becomes fit to be thrown away. So a coat is lost for want of a stitch in time. Had this stitch been given in time, the purchase of a new coat would not have been necessary for many days. If a small portion of a thatched house runs the risk of falling down to the ground. Mary a house has been lost for want of a little repair in time.

Nip the evil in the bud. Every evil should be destroyed as soon as it appears. If it is left to itself through neglect, it grows apace and acquires the strength of a giant. Then to root it out becomes a matter of extreme difficulty. So no evil should be allowed to strike root. How quickly does weed grow in a corn field? What an expensive, tedious and laborious affair is it for a husbandman to clear the field of weeds! They would never have overrun his field if he had given a stitch in time. Often a disease being neglected at first, takes so serious a turn as to result in the death of the person who is attaced by it. A stitch in time might have saved his life. This stitch would have been an adoption of proper measure when the disease made its appearance first in its mildest form. The taking of proper measures on the first appearance of the disease was the saved nine.

In the moral world a stitch in time may do a great deal of good. If a first sin is checked, a man can be saved from hell. Many evil habits establish their strong hold on us, because they were neglected at first. If we had given a stitch in time, they would never have bound us with fetters of iron. No one becomes a confirmed drunkard at once. He acquires the habit of drinking gradually. Before the habit is formed, if a stitch in time is given that is if a timely admonition is administered to him, his feet may be turned aside from the snare. Let, therefore, so wholesome a proverb sink deep into our hearts.

Value Of Sports

By Md Delower Hossain

Football, cricket, hockey, high jump, long jump, putting the shot with its strange pronunciation who among us is not fond of sports? If we have a talk with students, we shall find that the majority of them are interested in sports. Some of them actively take part in them. Others are equally active, not as players but as spectators and enthusiasts. Indeed, if a young-man does not take interest in sports or is ignorant of the latest records, we consider him eccentric and call him an owl.

Although boys and girls are interested in sports, their guardians look upon this interest as useless and sometimes harmful. A boy who spends time and energy in games and sports is said to be wasting both. He is often rebuked and punished and asked to mind his lessons. Too much of everything is bad, and a boy who neglects his studies, spoils his future. But that does not mean that games and sports have no value; rather they may be said to exercise an important influence in forming his personality.

All manly exercises, if taken in proper measure, keep us physically fit and we can have a sound mind if only we have a sound body. A man who has not a sound body becomes nervous and irritable. He quarrels with others and cannot attend to anything for a long time. He cannot look at life in a calm and quiet way but takes a sour view of life. He will fly from one thing to another; nothing will please him long. He does not like the society of others and other people also avoid him.

Another value of sports and games is that thy are an excellent recreation. Our daily work is a great strain on our energies. We are tired and exhausted by work. A game of football or a series of exercise in the gymnasium takes our mind away from the drudgery of work. These sports and games give fresh energy to our limbs and also make us forget our cares. Thus our mind is recreated, as it were and we return to our work with renewed energy. In this respect, games are even better than sports. Games bring before us a new world of competition and struggle and when they are over we feel refreshed.

Games are so refreshing that even spectators are enlivened by them. If we look at the faces of thousands of spectators young and old we find that they are beaming with excitement and joy. For a moment they have escaped from the hard world of sorrow and suffering. They are full of joy and a thing of joy is beautiful for ever. They clap and shout and forget all their worries. Thus games have a social value. The enthusiasm spreads from spectator to spectator until the vast crowd looks like one man.

For the sportsman, games and exercises are an excellent training in concentration and alertness. When a man is running a race or playing cricket, he must put his whole mind into it. He must not allow his mind to be diverted by anything. if he takes one false step, the game will be up.He is always being attacked by his opponent ; that is why his mind and body must always be alert. In football if he looks to his opponent on the right alone, than the one on the left will score a goal against him. He must look against this way and that way and yet his mind must be concentrated on the thing before him. Even in sports like jumping or throwing a discus where competitors take part one by one, there must be the same concentration and alertness. A man taking part in the exercises must concentration all his energies on the immediate task and he must also study the ways of his rivals.

Sports and games teach us coolness, courage and self-control. If we have constantly to compete with rivals in the open field, we shall develop manly courage that will be helpful in the serious business of life. If a player loses his temper when his goal is in danger or when he is going to take a jump, he will spoil his chances. We can realize the vale of manly sports if we compare a game of football with a game of cards. At cards the players shout and quarrel all the time the game is on. On the football ground, it is the spectators who fret and fume; the players are excited but cool-headed. A player who cannot control his nerves or his temper is lost; he is soon replaced by one who has courage and a cool head.

Not the least valuable effect of sports is the cultivation of team spirit, a sense of comradeship. No player can play only for himself; he must obey the captain, he must learn to move in harmony with his comrades and he must place the interests of the team above everything else. A player is like a soldier and all players are like comrades. That is why sportsmen are generally very sociable; they have to understand the ways of others and serve a common cause. A batsman may score a century but it is the team as a whole that wins. This team spirit is more in evidence in games than in physical exercises. But it is seen also in mass drills and in some exercises in which a number of men are controlled by a common purpose.

If we find two men quarreling bitterly, we say to both, "Don't bear any malice; take it in a sportsmanlike manner". When a man is downcast, we say, "Take it easy; be a sportsman". All this shows that sports teach a peculiar virtue which is called sports-manliness. This means a calm, Forgiving, cheerful view of life. A sportsman fights his opponents, but there is no malice. He knows that it is mere play and the more we are guided by it in our serious affairs, the better for us.

Sports thus play an important part in giving us complete education. That was the ideal of the ancient Greeks. They delighted in Philosophy and literature and science and arts, but they also took part in vigorous games. The Greek ideal should be revived and the school and the gymnasium must come closer together and give complete education.

Fast Food

Though it is not good for our health. Because, It contains excessive fat. This fat causes various diseases like, heart attack, stomach poison, oral problem etc.

So, you choose "Yes" or "No" to fast foods.

Perfect Food

What is the solution?
It is simple and something I have been preaching for the past 25 years. Return pets to their environmental roots. They need - daily - interesting activity, fresh air, clean water, romps in nature, lots of love, and food as close to the form they would find in the wild as possible. Fresh, whole natural foods fit for a carnivore and fed in variety are as good as it can get. Anything less than that is a compromise. Compromise the least if health is the goal. (Same principle applies to you and your family.) To get a packaged food as close as possible to that goal requires the right starting philosophy of feeding (described above) and the expertise to design and manufacture such foods.

Simultaneously, this same regulatory agency prohibits the use of many proven beneficial natural ingredients that one can find readily available for human consumption such as bee pollen, glucosamine, L-carnitine, spirulina and many other nutraceuticals. It would be easy to conclude that reason does not rule when it comes to what officially can or cannot be used in pet foods. From the regulators’ standpoint, they operate from the simplistic nutritional idea that the value of food has to do with percentages and that there is no special merit to any particular ingredient. They deny the tens of thousands of scientific research articles proving that the kind of ingredient and its quality can make all the difference in terms of health. They also are silent about the damaging effect of food processing and the impact of time, light, heat, oxygen and packaging on nutritional and health value.

Football History

By Md Delower Hossain

American football comes from rugby football. The first major football game was won by Rutgers University (score - 6) against Princeton University (score - 4). Their war was in 1869 -- four years after the Civil War.
Coloring football boy, the main idea of football is still the same. Football fans still yell, "Run that football!", "Throw it!", "Kick it!", and "Score man, score!"

Football Fundamentals
Coloring kid, you must get the ball into your opponent's end zone. Get yourself an egg-shaped, air-filled leather ball to throw, catch or kick. Follow the rules and regulations. No running "any-which-a-way" with the football, man! Only two teams can square off. Your team and the other guy's team must have eleven players on the field at one time. Smaller football leagues use fewer than eleven guys. The teams take turns playing offensive (trash talking is allowed), then playing defensive (cry baby guys are not allowed). The offensive team possesses the ball until they score, or fail to gain 10 yards in four tries, or loses the ball to the defensive team. The defensive team tries to stop the offense from gaining yardage or scoring. The defense tries to steal the ball, too.

Football Structure
Do you love knocking people down, kid? Is screaming in a big guy's face your dream come true? Is slamming a little guy into planet Earth your idea of fun? Well, Coloring football kid, tackle football is for you... No! Football coloring Kid, no scratching or spitting! "Eye-gouging and kicking?" No! "Choke holds and pistol whipping?!" No! Don't get greedy, kid... Here is a little lowdown info to help understand organized football structure: Teams may change their players as long as 11 guys are on the field. Scrimmage is the action once the ball is snapped (quickly given) to the Quarterback by his Center until the ball is dead. Line of Scrimmage is an invisible field line where teams face each other.

Education most important

By Md Delower Hossain

The most important task is to preserve what is left of civilization, and out of this to build something “nearer to our heart’s desire.” Education is of small value if it cannot help us in the most important of all tasks. It is to education is of small value if it cannot help us in the most important of all task. It is to educate the individual for the society in which he must live and to give him the power to change that society.

Education, to speak in general terms, is of two kinds, vocational and humane. The formaer makes the learners fit for work aimed at material prosperity and the latter aims at making man. Every man has some intrinsic qualities which need brush anp polish. What refines and magnifies them is rightly called “humane education” It trains the mind, expands the vision and regulates the course of life.

The importance of humane education in building morals of a nation iss unrivalled. It builds national character, strengthens national ideals and adds to the national intellect. This education does not fit children to become more factory hands and domestic servants. It makes children realize the vital truth that education aims at making them real men.

PEPORT ON CLOCKING-IN MACHINES AND TIME-KEEPING

It is very interesting that the time-keeping habits of our employees have been notice by other people in the company. It appears as if the time lost by extended use of lunch breaks could be avoided. We have also known for some time that there have been a number of problems connected with the motivation of our workforce, but the role played by the apparently informal extension fo lunch breaks has so far not been clarified.

In one or two departments, reports of staff taking extended breaks and long lunch hours without a colleague to cover them are well known. This unfortunate development has been discussed with the heads of department in my division on several occasions. They believe the subject of clocking-in machines, one for each department for example, is not very popular with a large number of staff.. The staff thinks that the company does not respect the majority of the staff's honesty and that the company is thinking in narrow money terms, which are not worthy of salaried employees. So I think that there is a grave danger that the actions of the management could be misunderstood.

Nonetheless, I feel that we should try and limit the advantages that certain individuals are taking with time keeping. We should undertake a review of selected staff. I wonder if you have heard of the experience of our American sister company? They have a central clocking-in system for all the divisional offices. As soon as employees switch on their terminals at the start of the ay this is easily checked on the main computer. In this way there is always a clear record of how many extra hours of overtime have been worked. This is a great help for some members of staff in planning their holiday requests. In theory this is surely one-way of making working time more efficient.
