Many people think that they can make the image as big as they want, then print without knowing about the "image stitching technique"! And when there is distortion, they blame the printer for low visual quality.

One must remember that what looks the worst from a close distance may look the best if the distance between the image and the viewer is increased (10 to 15 feet or more) in case of larger digital prints.

While taking digital prints, the photographer should consider critically how the image will be displayed for a better, if not the best viewing experience.

There are some digital printers too, who do not know the limit or only who only concentrate on money rather than the quality of the output offered. Sometimes they forget that what is merely a digital photo to them, may be a precious moment to the photographer, which may never be repeated!

The maximum size that a printout of a digital photo can be, depends on various aspects. But the common aspect can be the following if you are thinking of having your photo printed for yourself:

If you are using a commercial 1.2 mega pixel camera, the best digital prints may come as around an 8x10' photo, whereas an 11x14' is almost the limit.

If you are using a commercial 3 mega pixel camera, the best digital prints may come as around an 11x14' photo, whereas a 16x20' is almost the limit.

If you are using a commercial 4 mega pixel camera, the best digital prints may come as around a 20x24' photo, whereas a 30x40' is almost the limit.

Another way of estimating the best possible result before taking digital prints, is calculating PPI (final print resolution). If you divide the width (pixel) by your desired print size (inches) you get PPI. As a general rule, if your final print PPI is around 200 to 400, you get an overall good digital photo.

Having a photo printer at home may save you for in some instances. However buying a printer is not a lasting solution for having quality digital photos. The cost is often too high in comparison to the reasonable prices offered by renowned printers for digital prints.

These days you don't need to go out searching for printers from the high street to produce a good quality digital print! You can find better quality and cheaper digital prints sitting back at home over internet.

Hopefully, getting your quality digital prints will not be so hard next time.

Happy imaging.

By: John Oxton

French vision photography

Recently I shoot this girl for a Coiffure Beauty magazine. The photos are not only peace of paper in color, but peace of their own life full of emotions. Emotions vary depending on the memories attached to these images seen and preserved.

One of the most memorable day that the people really love to preserve is the wedding day. This is a wedding from Bulgaria.

Therefore people prefer to hire professional photographer to capture their important moments of their lives. However, these photographers may not always advise the client to strike a pose. Usually they wait patiently and catch the moments that are memorable. The photographer’s strategy stands also in a philosophy that more assistants you have, better results you will achieve. If you have a good assistance you will have an album that will not regrettable.

Here is the question:
What if you would also want to take pictures of a friend’s wedding?

Here is the list of some techniques for anyone who wants to capture the said event using a digital camera:

1. The Background: When you shoot the couple, make sure sure that the background is good and the environment is not so crowded.

2. Shoulder up: If you have a nice background, but it is hard to focus on the couple you may shoot them from shoulder up.

3. Avoid glasses reflections: If someone wearing glasses advice those to stand tilt their heads a little down or sideways. Usually this effect appears when the flash is used.

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; Used zoom in and zoom out: May be you want to include or exclude someone in the frame, so used zoom in or zoom out.

5. Position the sun behind or right you: When you shoot against the light the auto mode close the aperture and the face of the people will b in dark, so not shoot against the light source.

6. Candid shots: very dramatic way of capturing. These portraits reveal more than the quality of the picture itself. Most of the professionals used this style to capture memorable moments.

7. More space more photos: Equipped with appropriate memory cards to be free to experiment and take more pictures. I used canon 5d and sometimes 10 gigabytes is not enough. My camera make larger files, especially when shoot in RAW.
The following suggestions should be considered before buying a memory card:

- for 6 mega pixels – 1 gigabyte memory card
- for 8 mega pixels – 2 gigabyte memory card

8. Always use high resolutions: Remember that the higher the resolution utilized, the larger the size of prints that can be made.

9. Copy your work: save the best photos so you can use and reuse the techniques that made your viewers smile and appreciate your creation more.

So, the photography is a wonderful art, the wedding photography is wonderful event. If you make good pictures the emotions will be in their top because always the couple will re experience their memorable wedding day.

Macro photography for everyone

Close-up photos are very impressive with their own detail and sharpness. If you shoot flowers or insects you will see beautiful colors. To capture this kind of photos you need special macro lens, but often times the regular digital cameras has macro option. The result is not so professional like professional lens, but it is good enough to make some impressive pictures.

When you shoot in macro mode the camera changes the focus distance between camera and the subject. A close-up photo has very small area of focus – only a few millimeters. Getting in close to capture all the detail of a small object is nearly impossible with the regular setting on a camera.

Try to shoot in this mode. Experiment with what you want. There is a main problem in this shooting style – a light. To have very sharp pictures and in a focus you need to shoot with very close diaphragm. This lead to dark photo, but if you use a flash or some other source of light you will achieve very good results.

If you want you can sell online some of the macro photos. You can take close-up photos of such objects as stamps and coins, show the engraving on an object or allow a viewer to see that a piece of jewelry is flawless.

Go for a walk, explore and take pictures all the time. Start to see a little things around you. The difference between professionalism and amateur is in little details. A professionalism give efforts to make things perfectly, otherwise the amateur is not so good in this. Keep shooting in macro mode, this will develop your sense of shooting an will bring you to the top of your photography work.

From Beginners to Professional Photography

Here are some bases of the Digital Photography. Today, it’s so popular in the business industry, as well as for personal use. There are some terms that related to Digital Photography and you will know that.

1. Pixel – this is a like an atom - means the smallest part of the digital picture. Whole digital photo is made of combined millions of pixel.

2. Resolution - over all quantity of pixels in a picture. More resolution is better to make the picture sharper. 8 Mega pixels photo can enlarge to 20x30 cm paper prints even more with good quality.

3. Dots Per Inch (DPI) is a term to describe quality of the computer monitor and printer. If you have laser printers it will have more dpi resolution than monitors. The goal is - higher dpi resolution, better quality.

4. JPEG (joint photographic experts group) – may be the most spread format for saving images in the digital camera. The JPEG format is a special compression that makes photos with smaller file size, and it keeps the quality. Well, the new Digital Camera has RAW format, it’s the best for shooting. It keeps the information from the digital processor directly. The file size in RAW on my camera (Canon 5D) is about 12 Megabytes. The JPEG file size from Canon 5D is about 4 Megabytes. So the JPEG is good, but if you have RAW option used it for better results.

5. Memory Card – Digital camera stored the files there. You can check the prices of different memory cards at Adorama store, or B&H photo… Memory card with higher storage capacity would be more convenient to purchase.

6. LCD (liquid crystal display) – Your first assistance when you check your shooting and to be able to view the scene first before capturing the photo. In some Digital Cameras you can view the histogram (darker-whiter curve) to make some adjustments for the better picture.

So this was the beginning of your Digital photography journey. The next few easy steps will help you to discuss basically on correct handling of digital camera.

If you have proper handling of digital camera you will move forward in digital photography. This fish are extremely interesting. They behave like sea fish.

I have some photos of Tropheus Pemba and Ciprohromise. If anytime you try to shoot fish. O, God it's difficult. All the fish moving, the glass is like a bad lens and there are many small pieces in the water. So when you shoot aqurium you need to make:

1. Clean all the glasses and wait pump to clean for 3-4 hours

2. Stop all the equipment - filter pump, heater... and removed from the aquarium

3. Put the flashes (I use my Canon 580II on my camera and Canon430EX) on the top glas of the aquarium

4. Is very useful to put black carpet, or some black paper up front aquarium. Then make in the middle whole, where your lens will be. In this way we eliminate all reflection of us and the light from the main flash.

5. Be patient. Put high speed, f14-22 and 200ISO. I use my Canon Macro 50/f2,5 lens. Make manual focus and wait fish to move through your focus zone. Shoot it!

After all you have to download photos to computer and the works is going to start. Choose the best sharper and good composition photos. Open it in Photoshop and make next corrections. *with clone stamp tool remove all the color peace in the water to make water clean, *go to image-adjustments-levels and strength the contrast, *apply filter-unsharp masks (300%, radius 0,1 or 0,2).

Sometimes I need to shoot 3-4 hours before take the good picture. The aquarium photography is very dynamic and fish all the time change positions. It's extremely important to have good synchron between flashes to make shure that you shoot in good light. There are moments when the second flash not fleshed and... the picture is too dark in the background. I prefer to shoot more lighter aquarium photos than darker. So be patient and don't stop trying. Keep going and you will have good success.

So now you can have nice aquarium photos!

Learn Beginner Tips For Taking Digital Photography

Digital cameras are one of the greatest inventions of modern times. We are so fortunate to have this modern convenience called Digital Photography. To be able to capture a precious moment or beautiful scene at the click of a button, is something we should not take for granted.

Many beginners find digital photography rather challenging and rightly so. Today, more and more digital cameras are being created and it seems like the more digital cameras they make, the more difficult they become to use.

I own a Canon Powershot S3 IS. I purchased this digital camera about a year ago and I still haven't utilized all of the awesome little features this camera has to offer. Now you may not want or even need a camera with tons of features. It really depends on the type of pictures you plan on taking and of your imagination.

Regardless of the camera you own or are planning to own, you should have a well rounded knowledge of digital photography. I hope the following 20 tips for taking digital photography will prove to be useful in your quest for taking better photographs.

1 - Know your camera. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is not taking time to learn about the features of your camera. Don't be lazy. Read your instruction manual.

2 - When shooting sunny outdoor shots, try adjusting your white balance setting from auto to cloudy. The auto setting will make your shots appear too cold. When you change it to cloudy, it will increase the warmth of your pictures.

3 - If you are looking for superior image quality, the ability to use a variety of lenses and print large high quality photos, then considering a Digital SLR Camera.

4 - Use your flash outdoors. Sometimes, even on a sunny day outdoors, there is still a need for a flash. If the sun is directly over head or behind your subject, this can cause dark shadows to appear on the face. The flash will help lighten the subjects face.

5 - Sometimes simply turning your camera and taking vertical shots can make a world of difference. Experiment more with vertical picture taking.

6 - Do not put your subjects directly in the center of your shot. Move your subject off center to inject more life into your photos.

7 - Learn how to hold your digital camera. One of the most common problems beginners face is the shaking of the camera because they are not holding it properly. Of course, the best way to avoid shaking the camera is to use a tripod. If you don't have a tripod, then you should be holding your camera with two hands. Put one hand on the right hand side of your camera where you actually snap the photo and the other hand will support the weight of your camera. Depending on the camera, your left hand will either be positioned on the bottom or around your lens.

8 - Learn about the "Rule of Thirds". This is a well known principle of photographic composition that every beginner should become familiar with. Do a search online and you will find many tutorials on this subject.

9 - Look at other photographers work. Just spending time studying the work of other photographers can provide loads of inspiration.

10 - Join online photography communities. Get active and ask questions.

11 - Do not compare your photography to anyone else.

12 - Do not copy the work of other photographers. Try and develop your own unique style.

13 - Do not leave your batteries in your camera if you don't plan on using your camera for long periods of time. Some batteries run the risk of leaking and this can damage your camera.

14 - Subscribe to a good photography magazine. Read books on photography.

15 - Find experienced photographers to go out on shoots with.

16 - Post your photographs in online forums. Learn to accept criticism.

17 - Try taking your pictures in RAW format. RAW is a powerful option available in today's digital cameras where no in-camera processing takes place. This allows you to do all processing using your favorite image editing software.

18 - Don't buy the most expensive photography equipment right away. Practice and learn about photography using cheaper equipment first. After you have been taking pictures for a while, you will then know what kind of equipment you will need.

19 - Invest in a tripod. Some of us have very shaky hands. If you can't stop the shakes, then get a tripod. It will make a world of difference.

20 - If you are not able to carry your equipment with you everywhere, make sure you have a note pad handy. This way if you find a nice shot, you can write it down and visit that location at a later date.
By: Ralph Serpe

Sonq Vasi photos

Recently I had opportunity to work with famous Sonq Vassi. We made photo shoot for Coiffure Beauty magazine. I use my old Canon rebel (300d) with one of the best canon lens 70-200 L/f4. I used two lighting source on left and right and blend downside. The Blend was to reflect light from my studio lights. I used a soft boxe and umbrella on the right.
So here we are. My friend Vili Borshukova made the make-up and the hair too. A few hours works and we had some very nice shots. Sonq behaved as an good professionalist . She did everything right and was pleasure to shot with her.
The man on the picture is a friend of Sonq. He play drums and both of them were some good poses for shooting. I will upload the lighting set up for his shot. Article was about home made pedicure in the summer. I use my Canon 5D, two flashes - canon 580II and canon 430II.
The first one was on my camera in wireless mode (canon 580II), the second about a meter right away of a girl. I had my blend upon model to reflect light from my camera flash. Time for shooting - about 1,5 hour.

Best time for swimming pool shooting

Which are the best time for swimming pool shooting?
