Command and Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour is the expansion pack for the computer game Command & Conquer: Generals. Zero Hour added several new abilities and units to each side, and a new mode of play called Generals' Challenge.

The extra feature of this game is the Challenges against different Generals. You can select your own general and then have to defeat all other generals using your sources and super weapons.

The other feature is campaigns which are similar to the C&C Generals but with different scenarios.

Following is the brief description of all campaigns.

Campaigns

Zero Hour also contains 3 new campaigns of five missions each, one for each side, with their chronological order being USA first, GLA second, and China last. Unlike the previous campaigns, which were noted by Command and Conquer fans for not having full motion video cinematic sequences during mission briefing, the Zero Hour campaigns return to that Command and Conquer tradition, each showing a live-action video of a news reporter of the respective side giving details about the situation behind the current mission. The plot behind the Zero Hour campaigns picks up where it left off at the end of the previous campaigns.

At the beginning of the USA campaign, the Global Liberation Army (GLA) launches a biological weapon using a refitted Soyuz launch station from the captured Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at a U.S. naval base located in Northern Europe. The United States military retaliates quickly, destroying the launch platform, before the GLA can fire another missile. Later, while providing humanitarian aid to Mogadishu, Somalia backed by an aircraft carrier battle group, documents detailing a hidden GLA bio-lab are discovered. Black Lotus and Colonel Burton head to the area to destroy the bio-lab. While Black Lotus captures a GLA outpost, Colonel Burton leads a team of army rangers and destroys the bio-lab. Some time later, the United States learns that a GLA general codenamed "Dr. Thrax" has been developing a more lethal variety of anthrax known as "Anthrax Gamma". The USA manages to cut off Thrax's funds, which were coming from oil fields in Iran. When the USA locates his base of operations, they discover that he is planning on launching several missiles loaded with this toxin at major population centers within the USA itself. A swift strike by the USA, with the help of GLA defectors, succeeds in preventing the launch, and stops "Dr. Thrax."

In the GLA campaign, the GLA, though disappointed by the failure of Dr. Thrax, receives a boost in morale with the successful appointment of their new leader, General Mohmar "Deathstrike". The GLA first attempts to reunite its splintered factions under Deathstrike's leadership, which it succeeds in doing after eliminating the reganade Prince Kassad's forces in Egypt as well as stealing Kassad's stealth technologies, and then begins a fervent mission to drive the Americans from Europe. Despite their seemingly obsolete technology, the GLA succeeds in inflicting tremendous harm against the USA, by capturing an American particle uplink cannon which they then use to destroy the USS Ronald Reagan (splitting her in half from starboard to port, as shown in the game's cover) and infiltrating the US West Coast to steal toxins from a chemical storage facility. This reaches its climax when the GLA overruns the USA’s European central command base in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, partially with the use of captured Chinese weaponry. The GLA's primary objective accomplished, they now begin to invade a vulnerable Europe and create a new repressive state.

In the Chinese campaign, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) is sent to Europe to relieve the USA and gain revenge against the Global Liberation Army for their humiliating use of Chinese technology in the capture of the U.S. European Command base in Germany. In order to prevent the GLA from making use of advanced USA weaponry, China launches a nuclear missile at the military base, destroying it, and then sends its forces into Germany, where the GLA invaders are concentrated. China tightens its homeland defenses to prevent an infiltration so they don't suffer any more attacks in their homeland. This pays off when a nuclear power plant is attacked by the GLA. Chinese forces hold their position until reinforcements arrive, and they launch a counterattack, destroying the GLA in the hills. China is also asked by the Defense Council to use restraint in their military program, to which China agrees. They later liberate a major European city oppressed by the GLA, causing China's international opinion to skyrocket. The GLA attempt to retreat, but their forces are intercepted by China and destroyed. Finally, the nearly defeated GLA takes control of an abandoned U.S. military base and uses its weaponry against the Chinese army. China succeeds in destroying the GLA, and eliminating the GLA for good, rooting out their influence in Europe. Establishing the Eurasian Unity League with the newly liberated Europe, China takes its new role as a major superpower on the world stage.

Party of Sin is a side-scrolling competitive puzzle platformer. Each of the Seven Sins, Envy, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, Lust, and Gluttony, all have different powers that allow the access to different areas and different benefits in combat. The game is more akin to something like Trine in that the player can cycle through all seven sins when needed. The competitive aspect of this game comes into play like a game like Spelunky in that it is very possible to betray the other sins. However, some of the sins' powers can benefit each other more than damage them so cooperative play in certain situations would allow easier access to areas or make certain combat situations much easier. In a role reversal to something like the Diablo franchise, the seven sins fight their way through four biblical worlds and fight their way to heaven and slaughter any holy warriors, angels, and cherubs in their way and the end boss is Archangel Michael himself.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Envy’s piercing glare burns through enemies like a laser and can hit anything within her line of sight. She’s the only Sin with a ranged attack, making her perfect for countering those hard-to-reach angels. She can also light torches, triggering forward movement in the environment. She also doesn't like Pride. As it is appropriate for Envy, when she uses her eye-laser of sinfullness on another Sin the two Sins' health bars come closer and closer until they match in point value. It can also be used to benefit weak players to boost that players health.

Gluttony. This guy can swallow just about anything made of meat. This includes meat cubes, enemies and fellow Sins. Meat cubes can be held in his stomach indefinitely. Enemies will be disabled in his stomach and slowly digested, gradually replenishing his health until either they are completely digested and die or he spits them out with force. Unlike the jealous traits to Envy's power, Gluttony's skill of swallowing will not steal health from other Sins but will hold them in his stomach for a time until they are automatically vomited up. Gluttony's skill can be used to move meat cubes or enemies and activate buttons in certain puzzles. He could be a total dick by swallowing other Sins and spitting the into hazardous environments. Gluttony could however vomit them into harder to reach places and benefit the entire team.

Greed can launch out his golden hook to grab on to various things and swing around, much like the thief from Trine. Switches and hooks can be used to trigger puzzles and swing around the environment. In combat Greed's golden hook acts like something straight out of Just Cause 2 in that he can pull enemies closer or drag them into more hazardous areas. He could also pull out of reach objects closer to other Sins to help them out or pull powerups closer to himself to steal them for himself. Greed can also pull other Sins out of the air, mid-jump. This could be very useful if it wasn't so much fun to fuck up someone's jump.

Lust's skill lies within her sexual and seductive poses which breaks perfume bottles to create platforms and stuns nearby enemies and Sins. This can also be used in the middle of combat to stun larger and harder to beat enemies or to punish other Sins that are causing her trouble. She is also rather fond of Former President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton.

Pride is very, well... PRIDEFUL about his sword. He can perform a sword dash, which does considerable damage and allows him to jump farther than other Sins can. It can also be used to reflect projectiles. He is both the bruiser and self appointed leader of the Seven Deadly Sins. Pride's sword can also be used in a puzzle context to activate purple switches when the need arises. He also can neither detract from or contribute to the team's well being in a significant way, which is very unlike the six other sins.

Sloth doesn't like when things get so serious and when they do she likes to slow everything down for everyone to gather themselves and then get back to the action. Her special skill is, you guessed it, to slow down time. However, she can only control the time flow of one object at a time. She can also use her shuriken-like teddy as a short range attack when she needs to. As you would guess, Sloth can piss off other Sins by slowing them down mid jump to make sure they get hit by that slow moving projectile that they would have very easily avoided without her interaction.

Wrath. Nothing too complex here. He likes to hit things, and when he has hit a lot of things, he goes berserk and hits even more things until there’s nothing left to hit. If he happens to bash in a button or two that helps the team make progress, all the merrier. In a puzzle context, Wrath can smash huge doors to help the forward movement but has no other real benefit to the team outside of a combat context. Wrath can also punt sins into hard to reach places... or deep lava pits.

Build-a-lot is a 2007 casual video game for Microsoft Windows. The object of the game is to construct, upgrade and sell houses for profits. They can flip houses for quick cash or collect rent to make funds go up. Players help mayors from eight different areas and through 35 different levels to complete the game. Build-a-lot was created by HipSoft. It has also been ported to Mac OS X by Red Marble Games. In 2009 it was ported to mobile phones, iOS systems and BlackBerry's by Glu Mobile. It was ported to the Nintendo eShop and DSI shop on August 18, 2011.
There are two game modes in Build-a-lot: career mode and casual mode. In career mode, the object is to complete levels in which the player is assigned a set of tasks. In casual mode, the object is to meet a cash balance goal in the shortest time possible.
In career mode, the player's object is to complete a set of tasks in an individual game scenario, or "level". After doing so, they can advance to the next scenario. Once a level is completed, that level is available for play to that player on a continuing basis. Career mode has a total of thirty-five different levels, which are grouped together in eight different "neighborhoods" of between three and five levels. Each "neighborhood" has a different map character, number of lots, and different mayor. The neighborhoods advance in terms of game complexity. New structures become available at higher levels, and goals become more difficult.Meadow Dale is the tutorial neighborhood, in which the player is given the most basic tasks and is provided on-screen instructions for the game. Levels 1, 2 and 3 are played in this neighborhood. The "new" Mayor of Meadow Dale is Jennifer Russell.Pleasant Valley is the first regular game neighborhood. Levels 4, 5 and 6 are played in this neighborhood. The Mayor of Pleasant Valley is Beatrice Hudson, who in the game is revealed to be a native of New England.River Glen contains levels 7, 8, 9 and 10. In casual mode, the player's goal in each level is solely monetary—reaching a predetermined level of cash. The player may achieve that goal using any strategy, and is not required to build any particular house or building. However, in each casual mode game, the player is given only a starting cache of cash, workers, and materials. Other than the Rambler blueprint, the player must purchase the blueprint for any house or building the player would like to build.
Only six neighborhoods are available for play in casual mode, as opposed to the eight neighborhoods in career mode. The six neighborhoods available in casual mode are the last six neighborhoods in career mode.River Glen - The goal of River Glen in casual mode is $1,000,000. The player begins with $100,000 in cash, four workers, and 500 materials.Evergreen Park - The goal of Evergreen Park in casual mode is $2,500,000. The player again begins with $100,000 in cash, four workers, and 500 materials.Lakeside - The goal of Lakeside in casual mode is $5,000,000. The player begins with $150,000 in cash, six workers and 750 materials.Granite Springs - The goal of Granite Springs in casual mode is $10,000,000. The player again (as in Lakeside) begins with $150,000 in cash, six workers and 750 materials.Summit Ridge - The goal of Summit Ridge in casual mode is $25,000,000. As in Summit Ridge, the player begins with $250,000 in cash, eight workers, and 1,000 materials.
In Build-a-lot, there are six types of houses that can be built:

The Rambler is the lowest class house, a small-one story ranch-style house. The Rambler "costs" 75 materials to build, and requires only one worker to build. A rambler generates the lowest amount of rental income and sells at the lowest price in the game. In the casual mode of the game, the Rambler blueprint is provided to the player at the beginning of play.

The Colonial is the second class of house. It is in the style of a Colonial house. The Colonial "costs" 150 materials to build and requires two workers to build. In the Casual mode of the game, a player must purchase the Colonial blueprint, costing $30,000.

The Tudor is the third class of house and is in the style of a modern Tudor style. A Tudor "costs" 300 materials and requires three workers to build. In the Casual mode of the game, a player must purchase the Tudor blueprint for $60,000.

The Estate is the fourth class of house, a neoclassic or Greek revival estate home. An Estate "costs" 600 materials and requires five workers to build. The Estate home is often a critical building block of casual game strategy at higher levels. In the casual mode of the game, a player must purchase the Estate blueprint for $120,000.

The Mansion is the fifth class of house. It is in the style of an American mansion. A Mansion "costs" 1200 materials and requires seven workers to build. In the casual mode of the game, a player must purchase the Mansion blueprint, costing $240,000.

The Castle is the largest house in the game and is in the Disney style castle in Disneyland. A Castle "costs" 2500 materials and requires nine workers to build. In the casual mode of the game, a player must purchase the Castle blueprint ($500,000).

In addition to houses, players can build commercial buildings that assist them in various aspects of the game. These buildings come in two basic types:

Functional Buildings
Cultural Buildings

Functional buildings assist the player in some aspect of completing a level or achieving a monetary goal, for example increasing revenue by generating interest (the Bank), or speeding up construction or repairs (the Workshop). There are three functional buildings: the Sawmill, the Workshop, and the Bank.
In casual mode, each of the blueprints for the functional buildings costs $75,000.The Sawmill The Sawmill has three functions in Build-a-Lot:

It reduces the prices of materials by 50%
It speeds up the delivery of materials
Allows players to purchase building "permits" that allow players to upgrade houses to 4-star houses. A Sawmill "costs" 900 materials and five workers to build.

There is no benefit provided for having multiple sawmills.The Workshop The Workshop has three functions:

Reduces the price of "training" workers by 50%
Speeds up the construction, upgrading, and repair of houses and buildings
Allows players to perform "inspections" that serve to prevent houses from needing repairs. A Workshop "costs" 900 materials and three workers to build.

In the casual mode of the game, the Workshop is important, as it allows players to speed up the construction and upgrading of houses, reducing the time necessary to generate cash.
There is no benefit for having multiple workshops.The Bank has two functions:

Generates interest on the amount of money in the player's account, at the rate of 10% per interest period
If "donated", it does not generate interest, but prevents a player from being responsible for paying property taxes.

Having multiple banks increases the amount of money generated for the player. However, the amount of interest earned does not increase on a linear basis, i.e., each Bank will not generate 10% interest on the player's money. Instead, the game acts to distribute the player's money evenly in each Bank, allowing a greater total rate of interest in the Banks, so there is an overall compound interest effect. As an example, if the player has a total cash balance of $1,000,000 and two Banks, $500,000 will be deposited in each Bank. The first Bank would generate 6% ($60,000) in interest, raising the total cash amount to $1,060,000. The second Bank would generate 6% interest ($63,600) on half that amount ($530,000) to raise the total amount in the player's account to $1,102,500. If the player has three Banks rather than two, each bank generates 4% interest on the player's money. Accordingly, while the difference between one Bank and two Banks is substantial in that two Banks will produce more than 20% more interest than one Bank on its own, the addition of a third Bank does not appreciably add to the interest generated and takes up funds that could otherwise be used for house construction.CostMart is a building unlocked if the player completes all levels of the career mode of the game at a "high efficiency" or "star" level. It may be used in re-playing levels of the career mode, where it provides "profit-sharing"--a trickle of cash—and a trickle of free materials. It seems not to be available during the casual mode of the game.
Cultural buildings are relevant to the career mode of the game, and are frequently the goals of particular levels.
The various cultural buildings are often tied to the personal interests of the Mayors, and also tie in to the special gift given to the builder once a city is complete. For each city, the cultural buildings (and tie-in special gifts) are:

River Glen — library (tie-in gift, rare book)
Evergreen Park — (tie-in gift, golden money clip)

Game Play:

Antichamber (originally known as Hazard: The Journey of Life) is a single-player first-person puzzle-platform video game developed by Alexander Bruce. The game was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on January 31, 2013.

Gameplay

In Antichamber, the player controls the unnamed protagonist from a first-person perspective as they wander through non-Euclidean levels. Regarding typical notions of Euclidean space, Bruce has stated that "breaking down all those expectations and then remaking them is essentially the core mechanic of the game".
The player starts in a room that contains four walls. One is a diegitic menu to set the various game options as well as a countdown timer starting at ninety minutes. A second wall provides a map of the game's space that will fill in as the player visits specific rooms, highlighting passages the player has yet to explore, and allows the player, upon return to this room, to jump to any room they've visited before. A third wall shows a series of cartoonish iconographs and obfuscated hint text that are added as the player finds these on walls of the puzzle space. The fourth wall is a window, showing the ultimate goal, the exit from the space, which the player must figure out how to get to.

Puzzle elements in various chambers involve maneuvering themselves around the non-Euclidean spaces, where level elements can change after passing certain points, or even based on which direction the player is facing when traversing the level. Laser beams are used as mechanisms to control various doors; these may either require the beams to be blocked or unblocked, and many doors require multiple beams to be in their proper state to open. Initially, the player can trigger these themselves. Later, the player gains access to a series of colored "guns", each which helps the player access more of the space. Initially, the gun can pick up any number of small cubes, storing them, and then place them on surfaces; these can be used to block the aforementioned laser beams, or used as platforms for the player to get over obstacles. Other guns can be used to "grow" new blocks by placing blocks out in specific patterns, to direct a connected series of blocks towards an objective point, and to mass create and fill an area with blocks; later guns retain the abilities of the earlier ones. Certain areas in the space are dead zones that remove any blocks stored in the gun or prevent blocks from moving through them. Prior to most puzzles are signs with the forementioned iconographs which can be activated to give a hint on the upcoming puzzle. At any point, the player can jump back to the first room, and use the map to navigate to other areas; this resets any progress made on specific puzzles though the player retains the guns they have obtained.

Plot

Bruce Banner was a scientist turned fugitive when he was affected by doses of gamma radiation and a suicide attempt fails as he transforms into the beast within him---the incredible Hulk.

Somewhere in a town in South America, Bruce was chased by soldiers led by Emil Blonsky who were sent by General Thunderbolt Ross. As the chase ends when Banner heads inside a factory building, the soldiers fire missiles to the building which causes tons of debris to fall on Banner but his life was saved when he transformed into the Hulk instantly. Hulk then makes a quick getaway to New York City.

After arriving in the city, the Hulk confronts and saves the life of Rick Jones, a teenager held captive by soldiers working for an organization called Enclave. Soon after, the Hulk goes on some missions while protecting Rick Jones from the forces of Enclave's Ceres section. After they start a few missions, the Hulk manages help disarm Earthquake Bombs, trash an Enclave lab, and save Jones from a gigantic cyborg called the Kyklops.

Soon after, Bruce Banner begins to work with Samuel Sterns who was, in truth, his friend "Mr. Blue". In one mission, the Hulk manages to destroy a satellite as well as a building with it, only to be confronted by the U-Foes, a superhuman group consisting of a metallic being called Ironclad, a telekinetic being named Vector, a humanoid cloud by the name of Vapor and an inside-out, radioactive being called X-Ray. The Hulk manages to beat them, though the U-Foes survived and soon vowed to destroy the Hulk once he interferes with them once more. Hulk is then sent to retrieve Nanites stolen by Enclave which are hidden in garbage trucks that are also targeted by the army.

Major Glenn Talbot then dispatches the army to take down Hulk. Hulk then dodges missiles to get to the source of the broadcasting. Hulk manages to destroy the source and defeat Emil Blonsky.

Enclave has created robots to steal the energy from the city. Rick Jones tells Bruce Banner this and Hulk goes to destroy them at their key locations. After the robots are destroyed, Hulk eliminates the chemical bombs by throwing them into the saltwater. Hulk does this, but must kill some of the contaminated Enclave soldiers when the smaller bombs go off. After defeating some contaminated Enclave soldiers, Hulk heads back to those areas to get rid of the Energy Absorbing Machines. Hulk then heads to Empire State University to obtain a machine that could clear up the contamination. This is a success.

Hulk then takes the fight to Major Glenn Talbot by attracting press helicopters. After an attack on a military base, during which Talbot's forces fire on the press as well as the Hulk, Talbot goes into hiding as Rick Jones tracks his helicopter. Hulk gives pursuit of Talbot's helicopter. After attacking another base, Hulk learns that Major Talbot has captured Rick and is using him for bait. Hulk rescues Rick and goes on the run.

After escaping Talbot's soldiers, Rick tells Bruce that Enclave is creating a mass mind-control device and needs the data to create a countermeasure. Hulk fights Enclave soldiers shielded from the device to obtain the data and attract Enclave soldier reinforcements so that the shield around the building can be dropped and Rick can sneak in. By attacking nearby Enclave property, reinforcements are sent upon the shield dropping. As Hulk battles the Enclave soldiers, Rick successfully infiltrates the building and sets off something upon his departure. Hulk then destroys the building to prevent it from exploding. Enclave then goes after them and Hulk fights the Enclave robots to buy Rick Jones some time to get away. When Enclave tracks the device to the building that Rick Jones has the data in, Hulk defends the building to buy Rick some time to get it out. When Rick does escape, Hulk makes his way to Empire State University to see Samuel Stern. With the help of a countermeasure, Hulk heads toward one of their buildings containing an energy siphoning system. When the shield surrounding the antennae is dropped, Hulk heads up to the roof. After Hulk destroys the antennae, the leaders of Enclave plan to use Bi-Beast to battle Hulk. Upon receiving the news that Enclave placing another control antennae in Time Square, Hulk heads there and fights the Enclave soldiers under Bi-Beast's control. After the antennae is destroyed, Hulk engages Bi-Beast in battle and destroys it, before ripping off its head and revealing its mechanical insides. This causes Jupiter Leader to rise to victory after Ceres Leader and Minerva Leader's failure.

Hulk then goes to destroy the Earthquake Generators on the buildings to cease the earthquakes. Enclave then targets Hulk with an orbital laser that's synchronized over Manhattan. With the help from Rick Jones, Hulk scales the building that has the control satellite dish which Hulk destroys and follows its crash toward Central Park. Bruce is then contacted that the test results show that there is no cure for his condition, but he is told that they can try if Hulk can obtain parts of the Gamma Charger from three locations, an Enclave warehouse, a building owned by Enclave, and an army transport.

Samuel Sterns plans to use the Gamma Charger to elevate Hulk's Gamma Levels. Hulk does that and prevents Enclave soldiers from taking them back. Rick then locates the stolen equipment and sends Hulk to that location. Enclave plots to use the equipment to boost their mutant troops. As Rick disables them from his helicopter, Hulk clears the area for Rick to land. Bruce Banner then heads to the university where his old research data is only for Betty Ross to get the data before all of it is deleted by her father. Bruce sighted Emil Blonsky stating that General Ross' army is here. When Ross' soldiers grab Betty, Bruce turns into the Hulk and attacks the army's deployment points. Hulk then ends up in another fight with Emil Blonsky who received treatment that gives him enhanced abilities. Hulk manages to defeat him and makes off with Betty. With Emil still alive, General Ross gives orders to give Emil some medical attention.

Betty then tells Bruce that her father is going to attack an Enclave base and that he underestimates their power. Hulk then heads out to protect General Ross and eventually takes down Enclave's forces and one of their bases. When a soldier reports that Banner beat them to it, General Ross remarks that they did not need his help. Hulk then fights the Enclave soldiers to prevent them from getting to the Hulkbuster technology built by Stark Industries. Hulk manages to repel them. Hulk then helps the Hulkbusters fight Enclave soldiers and an Enclave F-POD. After Vulcan Leader's failure, the Enclave leaders conclude that the Army can do the job of eliminating the Hulk for them. Emil Blonsky recovers and General Ross arranges a special treatment for Emil.

Samuel Sterns then tells Hulk that they can test their device if Hulk can obtain a genetic simulator from Enclave. Samuel Sterns then informs Hulk that Enclave has used a bio-weapon on a building and Hulk takes the device to it in hopes that Samuel Stern can use it to cure the place. Hulk then prevents the building's destruction while Samuel works on the cure. When it is a success on the building, Samuel Sterns concludes that the cure works.

Hulk then has to guard a truck containing an experimental weapon that General Ross is having transported since General Ross does not trust Major Glenn Talbot for the job. When Glenn Talbot steals the weapon, Hulk goes after him. Hulk retrieves it and gives it to Rick so he can destroy it. When Betty Ross has been kidnapped under Major Talbot's orders, Hulk fights a Hulkbuster to destroy the generators trapping Betty Ross in a cage. After Hulk beats the Hulkbuster, Betty tells the pilot in the Hulkbuster that she is General Ross's daughter. This causes the Hulkbuster and the troops with it to fall back as Betty is free. When General Ross is told what happen, his army attacks Major Glenn Talbot who is now wearing a Hulkbuster armor (which is powered by a mini nuclear reactor that will blow up the city if it explodes). Hulk joins the fight and defeats Talbot. When the Hulkbuster armor is about to blow, Hulk throws it into the air where it explodes.

Samuel Sterns has completed the device that will cure Bruce Banner of the Hulk with a chance that it would kill him. Even though it suppressed the Hulk genes, General Ross and his army arrive tranquilizing Bruce and taking him and Betty away as General Ross drafts Samuel to his cause. After General Ross leaves, Emil Blonsky arrives to get more of the treatment from Samuel Sterns. This causes Emil to become Abomination who then attacks the city. Seeing as he's the only one who can stop him, Bruce Banner jumps from the helicopter and transforms into the Hulk to fight Abomination. When Abomination attacks the helicopter that General Ross and Betty are in, Hulk destroys it and continues his fight with Abomination. Hulk defeats Abomination and leaves the area. Betty tells her father that she hopes it was worth it.

All weapons and vehicles on the black market have parameters that can be upgraded in several steps, by building upgrades with weapon and vehicle components found within the game world. There are over 2,000 parts that the player can acquire.

Notable features of Just Cause 2 include the grappling hook, which gives players the ability to tether objects to each other. For example, in a high speed vehicle chase, the player can use the grappling hook to attach a pursuing vehicle to the ground, forcing it to stop and often flipping or turning the vehicle causing damage to it. The grappling hook also allows the player to pull himself, and hold onto objects such as walls or helicopters.

Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, the game pits its four protagonists—dubbed the "Survivors"—against hordes of the infected. There are four game modes: a single-player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op campaign mode; an eight-player online versus mode; and a four-player survival mode. In all modes, an artificial intelligence (AI), dubbed the "Director", controls level pacing and item placements, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.

Left 4 Dead was well received by the industry media upon its release, with praise given for its replay value, focus on cooperative play, and movie-like experience. Several criticisms were aimed at limited level selection and the lack of a narrative. Game Plot

Pennsylvania suffers an outbreak of "Green Flu"; a highly contagious virus causing extreme aggression, mutation to the body cells, and loss of higher brain functions. Two weeks after the infection four immune survivors—Bill, a Vietnam veteran; Zoey, a college student; Louis, an IT analyst, and Francis, an outlaw biker—make their way through the city of Fairfield, only to discover that the virus is creating more dangerous mutations. After narrowly avoiding these new infected, along with hordes of others, the survivors are alerted to the presence of an evacuation point at the nearby Mercy Hospital roof by a passing helicopter. Fighting their way through the city's streets, subway and sewers, they are rescued from the hospital's roof by the pilot, only to discover he is infected.

With Zoey forced to kill him, the helicopter crash lands in an industrial district outside the city. Finding an armored delivery truck, the group uses it to make their way to the town of Riverside. However, they find the road blocked, and travel the rest of the way on foot. After an encounter with an infected lunatic in the local church, they discover that the town is overrun, and decide to head to a nearby boathouse for rescue. Contacting a small fishing vessel, they manage to reach the city of Newburg on the other side of the river, only to find much of it in flames. Seeking cover in a large greenhouse, their rest is interrupted when a military C-130 Hercules passes overhead, leading the survivors to travel through the city's business district towards Metro International Airport. Upon arrival, the group see that in an attempt to contain the infection, the military had bombed the airport while infected pilots crash planes in an attempt to land; the runway however is largely intact, allowing the survivors to fuel up and escape in a waiting C-130.

Despite this apparent rescue, it crashes as well, and the survivors once again find themselves alone on the outskirts of Allegheny National Forest. Following a series of train tracks through the area, the group find themselves at a functioning, but abandoned, military outpost. After answering a radio transmission, the survivors make their final stand against hordes of infected, before a military APC arrives to transport them to Northeast Safe Zone Echo, supposedly the only uninfected area yet to be overrun. Instead, they are kept at a military installation and informed that even though they are immune, they still carry the virus. They are temporarily held by the military before the base is overrun with infected. The four escape via train and travel south at Bill's insistence; Bill believes that they can find long-term safety from the infected on the islands of the Florida Keys.

At the portside town of Rayford, they find a boat but must raise an old rusty bridge powered by an aging generator to get the boat into open waters, assured that the machinery noise will alert a large horde. Bill sacrifices himself in order to restart a generator when the lift jams, so that the others may reach safety.

Game Play

Left 4 Dead is a first-person shooter. In campaign mode, the player takes control of one of the survivors; if four human players are not available, then the remaining survivors are AI-controlled bots. They play through the levels fighting off the infected—living humans who have been infected with a rabies-like virus that causes psychosis. The survivors are carriers of the disease, so they do not show signs of any symptoms.

The game is focused on cooperation and team play and thus eschews some "realism" conventions usual in most FPS games of the wider genre; colored outlines of teammates are visible through walls to help players stick together and coordinate their movement. If a survivor falls off a ledge, then they may automatically hang onto it and can only be helped up by another survivor. If a survivor's health is depleted, then they become incapacitated and can only be revived by another survivor, at which point they continue playing with a low amount of health that decreases over time. If a survivor has been incapacitated and revived twice without tending to their wounds, then they will experience distorted black-and-white vision, and the next incapacitation will kill the character. If a survivor takes enough damage while incapacitated, or is not eventually helped up by teammates, then the incapacitated character will die. During "Campaign" mode, if a survivor is killed, then they will respawn in a closet or other enclosed space after a period of time (except during key points in the scenario), but must be freed by another survivor to rejoin the team. Otherwise, the player must wait until the next level. However, if all human player survivors are killed or incapacitated, players will have to restart from the last checkpoint. Survivors can share first-aid kits and pain pills and help each other heal. Left 4 Dead has friendly fire (which causes no damage on the easy difficulty mode), increasing the need for caution around other survivors.

The survivors communicate by voice commands that are accessed by quick menus, and some may sound off automatically when performing actions such as reloading or spotting infected. Over 1,000 unique lines have been recorded for each survivor. Additional communication of player actions is conveyed through character lights. Also, weapon-mounted flashlights and muzzle flashes help the players in determining whether their companions are shooting, performing melee attacks, reloading or moving. Due to control issues and the likelihood of players using a headset, the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead omits the quick phrases feature.

The game is experienced through five campaigns that take place in various urban and rural locales. Multiple visual in-game hints—including license plates, park signs, markings on airport equipment, and lines of dialogue spoken by the survivors—suggest that these locations are in Pennsylvania, and similarly a memorial wall giving names of those who have died in the infection (actually names of the game's development team) along with their dates of birth and death suggests that the game takes place in October 2009. Each campaign is divided into five chapters (except Crash Course, which has two chapters) marked by safe rooms, which are checkpoints where players can heal, re-arm and revive characters who were killed. Specifically, the four campaigns are: "No Mercy", an urban setting culminating in a hospital skyscraper; "Death Toll", a small-town and countryside setting; "Dead Air", an airport setting; and "Blood Harvest", a woodland and farm setting. A two-level campaign, "Crash Course", was released on September 29, and is set in the outskirts of a small industrial town. The levels have distinct beginnings and ends, but there are a number of alternate routes to follow with more supplies, helping to create a sense of non-linearity. In the final chapter of each campaign, the players must defend a position from an onslaught of infected until rescue arrives. Each campaign typically lasts between 20 and 75 minutes depending on the difficulty level. Both platform versions of the game utilize an achievement system.

The game starts as the player assumes the role of the game's main character entering a hostile dungeon crawler environment. The player enters a dungeon at the top floor and gradually progresses down through levels of increasing difficulty. Each level is a randomly generated maze of interconnected rooms, filled with monsters, traps, loot, and various objects. The game world is laid out in a tile-based square grid viewed from a top-down perspective, where the player, enemies, and various items and objects occupy discrete squares. The game is turn-based, and both the player and numerous enemies take turns performing actions. Each turn the player may move to or attack monsters in adjacent squares, pick up, drop, and use items, and interact with various in-game objects.
As a role-playing game, the player has several character statistics that determine their effectiveness in various aspects of gameplay. Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood is a 2002 stealth-based real-time strategy video game developed by Spellbound Studios. It is similar to games such as Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and the Commandos series. In the game, the player controls up to five characters in a setting based on the stories of the protagonist, Robin Hood. The player can also control Robin Hood's Merry Men, including Little John, Friar Tuck, Will Scarlet, Will Stutely, and Maid Marian. Robin and his crew must evade the cruel Sheriff of Nottingham and his henchmen and stop the machinations of the vile usurper to England's throne, Prince John. However, Robin must avoid killing enemies as much as possible, or he will not be able to recruit as many new Merry Men.

Gameplay

While the merry men can kill or wound enemy soldiers, their resources are limited to a certain extent, with main characters having more than minor miscellaneous ones. In addition, in every town, the player can give money to beggars, who, when given coins and purses, help by providing hints and tips. Common folk sometimes offer help as well (although this happens very rarely). On the other hand, there are two types of folk, who flee at the sight of a merry man, and alert nearby enemy soldiers. One is a woman, who wears a red apron; the other, a man, who wears a red-and-blue shirt. The greed of enemy soldiers is also limited, with money purses not affecting sergeants, while ale does affect them. Sometimes, money can be found in knights, cavalry units, sergeants, and more rarely, normal soldiers.

Plot

The game starts with Robin Hood, arriving in Lincoln from the Crusades, and finding out that his inheritance has been stolen by the notorious Sheriff of Nottingham. After the player finishes the first and second missions, meets with Maid Marian in the Nottingham cathedral, and subsequently tries to meet with the Prince, it is understood that King Richard has been kidnapped by Leopold of Austria for a ransom, and that the Regent Prince John is unlawfully usurping the rightful king. The responsibility of getting the ransom of £100,000 to save the king falls into the player's hands. In the final mission, Robin must fight the Sheriff, thereby defeating the Prince.

Characters

Robin Hood

Robin is a good all-around character. He can jump and climb, so he can get anywhere on the map, and he can search bodies and knock out enemies. On the downside, in strategic missions Robin uses a sword, so if he gets into a fight he can only kill his opponent. (In ambush missions, he gets to use a staff.)

Robin requires two punches to knock out officers, most knights, and most black soldiers. All other soldiers only require one punch (this is possibly linked to his combat skill).

Robin is required for every mission except for the one where you have to rescue him.

Stuteley

Stuteley is a good utility character. He can tie up unconscious enemies, and he can unlock doors. He’s useful until Friar Tuck joins you.

Maid Marian

Maid Marian is a little better than the aggressive merry. She heals just like the aggressive merry, but her spy ability is great for scouting.

Will Scarlet

Scarlet looks like a good character because his “catapult” (aka slingshot) can knock out enemies from a distance. But the slingshot doesn’t have much range, and it is difficult to target, and so Scarlet isn’t as useful as he could be. However, the slingshot can knock out an officer with a single shot, and Scarlet does come equipped with a flail, which usually knocks out enemies rather than killing them, and so he’s useful enough to have around in missions where you don’t have Little John.

Scarlet’s slingshot will only daze knights for a moment, not knock them out.

Little John

His staff not only knocks people out, but it has a long range, so he can take on and knock out several enemies at once. Plus, a single one of his punches can knock out any enemy, and he can carry enemies around.

Little John is susceptible to archers. It takes him so long to stop and pull an arrow out of his chest that archers have time to fire again, and so a single archer can defeat him.

Friar Tuck

Friar Tuck and Stuteley are about the same character, since they both tie up enemies and unlock doors. But Friar Tuck has more useful skills, and his weapon is blunt so he’ll knock out enemies rather than kill them. Once you get Friar Tuck, you should use him instead of Stuteley.

Jada, a beautiful but deadly disciple of Dracula, devoted to serving and protecting her master.

Igor is Dracula’s coachman in Transylvania. Of demonic-will and ill-intent, he is another devotee of Dracula, sharing his contempt for humans, and carrier-out of Dracula's menial, dirty bidding.

Plot

The plot follows the story of Bram Stoker's Dracula, with some variation in characters and plot detail.

At first a zealot of Christendom, Voivod Dracula forsakes his faith at the loss of his unrequited love, who opts to commit suicide rather than give in to him. As his embitterment boils, Dracula begins to delve heavily into Satanic practice. Unsatisfied with mortality, he drinks the blood of a rival in a pact with the Devil, placing upon him the curse that transforms him into the first vampire. In exchange for immortal powers, Dracula becomes a servant of Satan, bent on the destruction of humanity, finding his only solace in feeding upon human blood and seeking revenge for his lover's death, for which he guiltily feels party to being unable to save her.

Upon learning of an antediluvian manuscript detailing a strange rite alleged to return souls from the dead, Dracula seeks to revive his former lover's soul. When Johnathan Harker, a disciple of Van Helsing, sets out to combat the terror of Dracula's power, he sends a letter to his professor details Dracula's intention regarding the manuscript and his plan to resurrect his lover's soul into the body of a young woman, Johnathan's fiancée Mina Murray, chosen for her remarkable resemblance to his lover's former appearance. Johnathan's letter arrives but Johnathan does not return, implying that he already succumbs to Dracula's power.

Professor Abraham Van Helsing, the protagonist, embarks to defeat Dracula before he finds the manuscript and abducts the body of Mina, traveling throughout Europe to do so. He begins with a London cemetery he believes Dracula to be occupying, and his adventures take him to the streets and tombs of Cairo, the salons of Vienna’s aristocracy and a Rococo library that leads him on the trail to secretive damned monastery to stop the evil plots being concocted therein. The vampire hunter then finds his way to Transylvania at last, to the famous castle of Dracula to complete his task.

Plot

As with the first game, Max Payne 2's story begins in medias res.

As Max Payne is taken by the police, he looks at Senator Woden, who assures him that he will be fine, as NYPD Chief Inspector Jim Bravura brings him in the car.

The story of the game begins with Max in a hospital, severely injured. Upon being released he is attacked by an assassin and in the process Bravura is shot. Max escapes into a room where he finds the dead body of Valerie Winterson.

The game goes back to the beginning of the story, picking up where the previous game left off. In court, Payne is charged with multiple homicides, including the death of another detective (Alex), and mayhem. He is cleared of the charges when it is proven he did not kill Alex, and the other homicides are cleared on Senator Woden's requests (who had promised Max he would do so.) Max, now free, leaves the DEA, and resumes his job as an NYPD detective.

Two years later, Max is investigating a series of murders by a group of contract killers known as the Cleaners. Max encounters Mona Sax, who was assumed dead. Wanted for the murder of Senator Gates, Mona is arrested and taken to the police station, despite Max's protests. At the station, Max overhears his new partner, Detective Valerie Winterson, speaking on the phone about Mona. The station is attacked by the Cleaners, who are pursuing Mona. Before they reach her, Mona breaks out of her cell and manages to escape the station. Max meets Mona at her residence, where they fight off the Cleaners who had followed him. They then begin hunting down the people responsible for the attack.

Their search leads them to a construction site, where Max and Mona defend themselves against the Cleaners. After their foes flee, Detective Winterson arrives and holds Mona at gunpoint. Mona claims that Winterson is there to kill her while Winterson claims that she is merely trying to arrest a fleeing fugitive. After several moments of consideration, Max shoots Winterson, allowing Mona to escape. Before she dies, Winterson shoots Max, leading to his hospitalization.

The game then resumes from the beginning where he was standing beside the body of Winterson. After Max escapes an attack on hospital perpetrated by the Cleaners, he begins looking for answers. Later, he is kidnapped by Vladimir Lem, head of the local Russian Mafia with whom he entered alliance years ago. Max learns that the Cleaners work for Lem, who uses them to eliminate the competition to his businesses. Max also learns that Lem is part of a secret organization known as the Inner Circle. Lem plans to kill Woden and gain control of the Inner Circle. Max then learns that Mona is a hired gun for Woden, who has been given orders to kill both Lem and Max. After Lem reveals that Detective Winterson was Lem's mistress, he shoots Max and leaves him for dead. Mona rescues Max and together they go to Woden's mansion to save him from Lem.

After infiltrating the mansion, Mona knocks Max to the ground in an attempt to follow her orders to kill him, but discovers that her feelings for him keep her from doing so. After realizing that Mona will not kill Max, Lem emerges from hiding and shoots her. Woden then comes out of the house's panic room in a wheelchair (his paralyzation stemming from a gunshot wound he endured in the previous game), and lunges at Lem, only to be killed in the ensuing struggle. Max and Lem battle until Lem triggers a bomb that he planted in the mansion. After they both drop to the floor below, Max pursues Lem through the mansion. Max faces Lem in a firefight and eventually destabilizes the platform below Lem, causing it to fall to the floor below and kill him. Max returns to Mona's side as the police arrive, and she dies in his arms. In an alternative ending, upon finishing the game in the highest difficulty level, Mona survives.

Gameplay

Max Payne 2 is a third-person shooter, in which the player assumes the role of Max Payne, but also plays as Mona Sax in a few levels. Initially, the player's only weapon is a 9mm pistol. As they progress, players access other weapons including handguns, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and hand-thrown weapons. To move the game along, the player is told what the next objective is through Max's internal monologue, in which Max iterates what his next steps should be.
When first played, the game only offers one difficulty level that is adjusted on the fly if the game is too difficult for the player. For example, if the player's character dies too many times, the enemies' artificial intelligence is made less effective, while more health in the form of painkillers is made available. After completing the game once, other difficulty levels are unlocked. Two special game modes are also activated: New York Minute and Dead Man Walking. In New York Minute, the player is given a score based on the time taken to complete each level. The Dead Man Walking mode places Max in one of five scenarios, in which he must survive for as long as possible while fighting off endlessly respawning enemies.
Max Payne 2 allows the player to enable Bullet Time, a mode that slows time, while still allowing the player to aim in real-time, to give the player more time to determine what they want to do. In this mode, the screen's color changes to a sepia tone to act as a visual cue. When in use, the Bullet Time meter will decrease until it is either empty or the player disables Bullet Time mode. The meter will eventually increase when not in use, but can be replenished quickly by killing enemies. To simulate the Bullet Time effect, Max can also execute a shoot-dodge maneuver. When the maneuver is performed, Max jumps in a direction specified by the player, and although Bullet Time is activated while Max is in mid-air, this will not deplete the Bullet Time meter. The combat system has been improved for Max Payne 2; the player can now arm Max with a secondary weapon such as a grenade or Molotov cocktail, and when near an enemy, Max can perform a melee attack. AI players occasionally come to Max's aid, although their death does not affect the gameplay or story.
