US ONLINE SURVEY DATABASE

As with my GPT Database, this online survey database is also the result of over 2 years of work, searching high and low for the most credible and profitable survey sites online.

What you may notice rather quickly is that the database here is a bit small in comparison to others you've likely come into contact with. While trying to decide which direction to go, however it soon became apparent that I wanted a list of sites which would accompany the audience of those that would likely be filling them out.

This didn't mean packing every single survey related site on the internet that I could find just to make my listing fuller for the sake of doing so, something I've often seen with so many other sites that have flooded the market.

Rather, I chose companies which were relavent in content, loyal and lastly survey companies which appreciated their memebers and we're willing to compensate them well for participating.

Here are the TOP 5 reasons that make GPT GUILD's online survey database unique and likely one of the best you'll run into on the net.

All survey sites listed in this database actually PAY CASH for your opinion. Companies which only offered sweepstakes or prizes we're removed and those which offered giftcards we're put into their own catagory for your convience if you so decided to choose that route of compensation.

Focus Groups which restricted there members to a particular residence. Let's face it guys, NOT everyone lives in a big city.
No Mystery Shopping sites to be found here either. Reason being, many of these sites yield very little compensation for the work put forth and really aren't what this database is geared towards.

However, this is the first time to my knowledge that it has ever been integrated into a GPT site for gaining referrals. VERY NEAT IDEA!

SWATcash declares bankruptcy

As many of you have already heard SWATcash are no longer in operation as of December 1, 2008. This became news to me as of yesterday, and is still quite shocking.

SWATcash was founded in 2006 and quickly gained a large portion of the GPT community; sharing ranks with many other GPT giants such as Treasure Trooper and Cash Crate.

Brian, founder of SWATcash sent this email to all members of the site prior to its shutting down.

“Due to all of the recent events I am sad to say that SWATcash will be shutting down effective December 1st, 2008. We will strive to do all we can to get payments out in a timely manner. Unfortunately if all goes well we will only be able to pay out Offer Earnings, Referral Commission, Shopping Earnings, and Click Earnings. With shutting down we have to end our contracts with the company that runs our servers which is really putting the strain on the company’s wallet and possibly charging us more than we will have coming in, in which case we will have to file for bankruptcy. We hope that they will be glad to work with us and get that number down so we can payout all of the members who have made payout through December 1st.

We know this sucks, you don’t have to tell me twice. We are still waiting on checks that are now almost 2 months late to us. I have been told recently that a check was over-nighted Wednesday only to find out today that it still hasn’t even been sent. That is just how it has been going lately for us. We are doing everything in our power to get what is owed to us so we can get what is owed to you. We realize that this is a terrible time for this to happen as Christmas is just around the corner, but believe me that this is hurting us just as much as it is hurting you. A lot of you may think that we have a mound of money in the company that we are sitting on but the truth of the matter is, is that it’s just not true. With paying to keep the site up, paying our employees the money is going down just as fast as it is coming in because every lead is being scrutinized more closely than ever and it is taking a longer time for payments to be processed. Now days all a advertiser has to do is say “I think we have some fraud here” whether it be one lead or 100 and your full payment is held till it is figured out which can take months.

We always put the members first throughout this whole 2 year run that the company has been around and don’t intend on changing now.

We really appreciated working with all of the truthful members that stuck around on the site and forums from the very beginning. Without you guys we would have never made it anywhere. The forums were always active and fun to be around and it truly made my job a little bit easier with all the helpful members answering questions when a mod or admin wasn’t around to answer them. I want to thank all the mods for doing a great job around here keeping the forums clean and informative. I’d love to thank Jeremy and Will for doing an excellent job keep the site new with cool features and making the site as unique as it was. Thanks to Soylagringaloca who did a great job handling support and making sure it was done in a timely manner and keeping it as upbeat as possible. And also thanks to SWATAP for providing us with pictures for visual representation of topics and posts. He kept the forums lively and bursting with activity. I hope I didn’t miss anyone but thanks to everyone involved with SWATcash it was like one giant family even though sometimes it got a bit out of hand.

The site will go down sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. I apologize for how everything went down and how this ended up, but I give you my word that we will try to payout members what they deserve and rightfully earned.”

SWATcash, though an excellent, well maintained site simply tried to grow too fast by expending large portions of funds into high payouts and lavish contests. In the end, however, this course of action proved much too risky as management allowed for cash reserves to run far too low. This made it impossible to bail themselves out after not receiving pay for 2 months from their affiliates due to fraud issues. In turn SWATcash could no longer pay its members and had to file for bankruptcy.

Where do I go now?

Good news there are still plenty of excellent sites in which to choose from, many of which have been reviewed and talked about on this site. Programmers of SWATcash Jeremy and Will have decided to venture into the GPT realm themselves and open up their own site called Gimmickless GPT. Even though this site is not fully funtional one can still pre-register for it.

Tom, owner of GetPaidTo.com bought the SWATcash domain and he looks to have a promising, well designed site you may want to check out as well.

In an email received yesterday from Global Test Market I was informed of a "$500 Holiday Sweepstakes" has been taking place since Oct and will continue through December 30th of this month.

ACOP to offer incentive check accounts!

As stated in an email received yesterday; members of American Consumer Opinion (ACOP.com) will now have the option to cash out checks when desired instead of having one delivered 4 weeks after every survey.

American Consumer Opinion quotes "This will allow you to accumulate money and receive a larger check, instead of the inconvenience of depositing many small checks. It is later stated that account changes will incur in mid December, a specific date, however was not posted.

Treasure Trooper's VIP Club

Treasure Trooper has had quite the run in the GPT world, and doesn't look to loose steam anytime soon.

This 3 year mark brings not only a mild redesign of the site but many new and useful features that you will grow to love!

Report & Ignore: Under the "Offers" category you'll notice to the right of each offer there is an R and a I button. These buttons will be used to "Report" any broken links and "Ignore" any particular offers that you have no intentions of completing onto their own separate page.

Currency Converter: This made me double take when I saw it. One of my favorite additions thus far posted underneath Jungle Slots in Mabutu's Trading Hut allows members to "convert" their pearls, gold & platinum coins for what they may need or want at the present time. It simply works like this:

Would you like to give 1 platinum coin for 2 pearls?

Would you like to give 2 dollars for 1 platinum coin?

GPT Guild is back after long absence!

After a long, unexpected absence, the GPT Guild is back, much apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused to our readers. Everything has since been addressed and won't be happening again.

In the coming weeks you can expect regular posting again as well as many other updates including additions to our online survey databases not to mention a new Paid To Click "PTC" Database which I will be trying my hands at and reviewing for those that enjoying doing those.

Aside from all else I plan on implementing a new Wordpress based design served up on a new domain name and host.

This will all take a bit of time but I assure you it will be well worth the wait. Thank you all for being ever so patient during this ordeal.

How much can I earn filling out online surveys?

That will depend on the amount of time you want to put into it. Here is a list of earnings I've received throughout this year.

Due note, that I've not spent a whole lot of time doing these surveys quite yet, but more time researching "do's and don'ts" in attempt to find which sites suit me the best.

So, I'd expect my earnings to go up dramatically in the coming months as I gain much more knowledge about the companies.

However, I hope this gives you an idea of what you can hope to obtain in your free time. The common misconception I often read about on the net are sites trying to brain-wash you into believing that filling out online surveys will replace your day job and this so isn't true, but they can provide you with some extra money at the end of the month.

From the results I've seen I'd venture to guess one could easily obtain an extra $50 per month doing online surveys if they spend about 1 hour per week working on them. I however, usually don't even spend that much which you can see is why some on months I didn't earn that much. Of course thats what I like most about taking online surveys. You work on them when you want to and at YOUR convience, I think thats one of the nicest perks to taking online surveys.

Steve Case best known as the co-founder and former CEO and chairman of America Online is now the new founder of the Revolution LLC. The company began in 2005 and have recently been gaining notice for their newly developed money exchange platform which plans to duke it out with Paypal.

Revolution Money Exchange is will also be offering $25 to anyone who signs up and qualifies for an account and $10 to anyone who refers someone there via email until March 31st.

Many of you may feel a bit skeptical about this offer and site, but don't get me wrong I too was at first, and did a little research to ease our minds.

Knowing that Steve Case is behind the company is definitely a perk, even though I'm not the fondest of AOL now that I've been using the internet for sometime. However, AOL is still great for those who are just starting and have little to no prior knowledge working online as they have helped millions of people get involved with the new internet generation.

Secondly, knowing that all accounts we're being issued by First Bank & Trust, Brookings, SD. A FDIC member and part of the Fishback Financial Corporation was a great sedative as well.

All this coupled with a friendly web 2.0 atmosphere, design and extreme upfront emphasis on security, make for a great potential startup as well.

Did I mention how easy the sign up was? I do like Paypal, but I feel that their design is a bit out dated and "corporate" looking. Revolution Money has also decided not to charge any fees to exchange or receive money from different accounts.

Again, this isn't a scam, they're legit I was credited $25 almost instantly, but if you still feel a bit uneasy feel free to Google it and read some articles. I know Slickdeals.net had a large thread in their forums and many we're speaking highly of it and not calling it a scam, but a very legitimate company.

Yuwie offers 2 more ways to earn referrals!

In mid November and then again in February Yuwie implemented 2 ways to help members receive referrals for being active on their site as well as helping Yuwie to control unwanted provocative content.

- Random Referrals -

Every time a new member signs up with unrefereed they are assigned randomly to a member's referral tree that meet these qualifications:

1. Member has been on Yuwie for more than 30 days.
2. Member has been online in the last hour.
3. Members can only receive 1 random referral per day.

- Reporting provocative content -

That's right Yuwie is taking great strides to be one of the most cleanest social networking sites on the web, but they need your help.

Yuwie doesn't want to be turned down by any of the big advertisers because of having a website deemed as being "too dirty" so, by reporting violations to Yuwie, you in turn can earn credits towards obtaining referrals if Yuwie agrees that the content is in fact a violation.

Each member that reports 5 credible violations will be awarded with 1 unrefereed referral which will be added to the level 1 spot under their referral tree.

Just use good judgment when reporting and don't go overboard as Yuwie can and will ban you if your just reporting everything in sight just to up your referral count, so take it easy and make sure that what your reporting really does in fact need to be reported.

Survey Spot was created by one of the world's leading research company's, Survey Sampling International back in 1977. Survey Spot is also very well trusted and is a member of the BBB Online Reliability Program.

Survey Spot offers cash incentives ranging anywhere from $2-$10 on majority of their surveys, however they also have an excellent rewards program!

Each time you take a survey, even if you don't qualify, you have a chance to play their instant win game for tickets into their prize draw. Some surveys even earn you a spot in their $25,000 cash sweepstakes which they award quartly.

As for my experience with Survey Spot, well, they've really been my “bread and butter” panel; they really do send the surveys!

Let’s just say that I can’t remember a time that I didn’t receive at least 2-3 surveys A DAY from these folks, however, they usually don’t send on weekends, but rather Mon-Fri.

The surveys I receive on average are around 10-15 minutes long and give out $2-3. I’ve been a member since January 2007 and have earned $93.00 from them thus far!

This has slowly become one of my favorite survey companies, and has recently revamped to a newer designed website, which I feel ooks MUCH better than their previous one that seemed to take you back to the times of 1995 web design.

Livewire doesn't send many surveys, but when they do they pay quite well. I have been registered with Livewire Research since April 2007 and have usually received about 1 survey per month from them.

I have also not received a survey for under $5 nor has it taken longer than 15 minutes to complete either. Two that I have received only took 10 minutes, and one of those paid $10 for it, thats $60/hr -- Wow...if only they sent more surveys.

Do note, however, that they do ask for your social security number, but I did a lot of research on the web about them before hand and couldn't find a bad thing stated about their chracter, so I decided to go ahead and sign up and I haven't had a problem since.

Livewire Research pays via check and sends it right after you complete the survey. It usually takes 4 weeks to process and arrive; and I have been paid twice by this company thus far.

Getting Started With Online Surveys

First I would strongly advise signing up with a new email account. Choose a well known free account thats been established for a while such as Yahoo, Hotmail, Google, MSN or Lycos as your likely to run into less problems this way.

You want to setup this separate email because you will be signing up with many companies and you will not want them to get mixed in with your other mail as it may hinder your chances of being able to participate in some really nice surveys or focus groups for good money.

You may also want to download RoboForm, this is software that can greatly speed up the signup process and is highly suggested by many survey takers.

Go to the center of this blog under "Online Surveys" and click on the "Free Online Survey Directories" link; this will take you to all our directories. From here you will be able to choose your country and get an overview of all our suggested companies that you can sign up with.

Sign up with as many companies as possible. All companies listed are great and the more you sign up with the more survey opportunities you'll have waiting for you every day.

You will need to check your email at least 1-2 times daily as these surveys all have an alloted number of panelists that can participate, and if you wait too long, you'll likely miss the boat as spots fill up quick especially on the surveys that offer over $5.

When you sign up with these companies I suggest creating a separate folder in your favorites area and bookmark the companies login page as you may forget who all you've signed up with, and organization is key in maximizing your potential profits with these companies.

Many of these sites will also have profiles that your welcome to fill out. This is highly suggested and will allow for the company to get to know more about you and your household buying patterns.

In turn this will help them partner you with surveys that you have a better chance of qualifying for.

Otherwise, you'll just be getting random surveys that you may have little chance to participate in because your not the target audience.

If you haven't one already, you will need to sign up for a PayPal account. This is imperative as there are several companies that send out payments in this form, and you will be left out if you don't have an account--So, take the time to fill one out, its very easy, and doesn't take long.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I suggest that you be patient. It may take you a few days to sign up with all the companies and to get your profiles filled out.

Of course after these companies have learned a bit about you and feel that you have proven yourself as a worthwhile panelist they will in turn send you more surveys, as time goes on it is likely that the compensation will also gain in number as well. So, just be patient and it will all fall into place.

It seems many of us couldn't control ourselves with Treasure Trooper's new Jungle Slots game, which made picking up gold coins needed for the $100 Treasure Hunt that much harder.

So, for the likes of those with little self control, the game has been adjusted so that those who've not completed the $100 Treasure Hunt are allotted only one pull per day instead of the earlier 10 pull limit.

I for one think this was a very smart move considering those of us, including myself, which found it very difficult to contain our slot machine fever.

If you get some time I would definitely recommend checking out this site. They have a great directory of surveys and even have weekly survey review competitions in which they hand pick two reviews written that week and award the author $10 via Paypal.

Luckly, a few months back I must have wrote up great review on Survey Spot because I was awarded with $25 through Paypal from a larger competition they'd been holding.

Again, if you get time and are with a lot of survey companies and would like to share your 2 cents, be it good or bad, then go ahead and make your opinion heard! You could be their next $10 winner!

I just checked my Gmail account to see what surveys I'd received for today and right up at the top there was one from Greenfield for $2.00

This was quite a surprise to find one from them that offered anything since usually the only ones they send me are sweepstakes which I usually just pitch in the trash unless I have some time on my hands to do them.

Well, not only was this one offering $2.00 but it was only a 5 minute survey, so I jumped right on in and as soon as I clicked the link to it I was greeted with the friendly message that it was ALREADY CLOSED.

This was ridiculous, it had been sent to my inbox an hour prior and it had already filled up, just goes to show you it doesn't take long to miss the boat on a good survey opportunity.

Well, so much for that, at least it was only for $2.00.

Canada - Paid Survey Database

Here is a list of paid survey sites for those of you living in Canada. I've chosen only companies which offer cash incentives.

These companies may also offer sweepstakes, gift certificates amongst other nice prizes, but ALL of them pay in cash for the majority of their surveys.

Do understand that the reason GPT Guild doesn't have the long directories of 300+ surveys is because I concentrate on the companies which actually offer money and decent gift certificates and don't just put you into a drawing for sweepstakes and prizes.

While these items may be offered at times, ALL companies we list will usually offer cash as their main incentive for surveys.
