Symbian Anna - Whats New

2011-10-11T08:35:00.000-07:00

Symbian Annna , the latest upgrade to Symbian^3. This new operating platform comes with the new Nokia E6, Nokia X7 devices. Nokia announced this software upgrade available for all existing devices that are running on Symbian^3 already (Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia E7 ).

Well, there are lots of talk about Nokia planning to transition Windows Phone, But its the Symbian users that holding nokia still upright. So keep that that mind Symbian Anna offers:

Great visual improvement with eye catchy rounded icons and better scrolling.

Introduction of virtual QWERTY keypad in portrait mode, better text input facility.

Split screen facility added a new dimension, now you can see existing element on screen during text input.

Major improvement is done on existing poor Nokia built in browser, the new Browser version 7.3 supports Flash Lite 4, gives faster browsing experience and better look with replacement of disturbing black tab at the bottom with tiny floating at the bottom right.

Additional features are provided with Nokia Ovi Map 3.6 having same interface, like share a location via email and SMS, public transport overlays to map view, improved social check-in functionality and the ability to download country maps directly to the device over the air.

Better security with improved data encryption on Nokia smartphones are ensured.

Other issues like camera, calender, email application also got some tweaks in this upgrade. Finally it can be said you will get smoother and faster operation than before if use Symbian Anna. But this is not 'THE END', guess what? Nokia mentioned already “if you like Android then you’ll love Symbian Belle." the upgrade of Symbian Anna. So , lets wait and see. And obviously hope for the best if you are die hard Nokia fan.

"Android vs iOs: Who's Winning So Far"

2011-10-08T20:31:00.000-07:00

In August of 2010 sales of phones carrying Android exceeded sales of phones using iOs for the first time. This was the forerunner of the inevitable rise of Android, and the accompanying fall of iOs.

There is little question iOs got off to a speedy start in the race to provide smart phone operations. But Android has burned up the trail behind iOs, and threatens to pass Apple’s operating system much as Windows surpassed the Macintosh. Will history repeat itself? This author says yes.

You remember the narrative. Apple introduced the first commercially successful desktop computer for the masses in the mid 1980s. But that poor relic of history was soon left gasping in its own convenience and competence while consumers leapt to the performance and slick marketing of Windows and DOS.

Any student of history knows that history does indeed often repeat itself. And the narrative here is little changed from the 1980s. Apple produces the product that first appeals to the masses. That product offers something new and scintillating. In the 1980s it was a keyboard, a mouse, and a reasonable size. In the 2000s it was the smart phone.

Apple broke the market wide open, acclimated the common consumer to their product, and offered their product for a price that was affordable. Apple was the gateway drug that introduced the consumer to the mental stimulant that is a state of constant-wiredness.

But where Apple’s iPhone is exceptionally competent and user friendly, it is doomed to become the product of choice for grandparents and the almost-senile. The operating platform can not handle multiple functions, and the savvy consumer will always choose the product with the best performance in the end.

The ease of use of the phone is exactly what will turn off the growing population of smart-phoners – as they become more attuned to what a smart phone offers, they will want more. Android offers more. iOs offers only ease. Any additional complexity or flexibility is contrary to the Apple model of tightly controlled marketing and simplicity of function.

The gush of marketing and fancy gimmickry of the iPhone is all that carries the day today. Apple’s day in the sun will continue with the iPad for another length of time. Perhaps additional new wave products will buttress the company’s bottom line in the future. But Apple is a company designed to appeal to those who might otherwise not buy a smart phone.

Their error is that those who buy the smart phone from them will be comfortable enough to buy another smart phone the next time. And they will want more from their next phone than iOs can offer.

History, repeating itself once more.

The never ending battle between these two is unstoppable. Conduct a survey by doing a people search. By doing this, you will be able to discover feedbacks from the actual users and hear their experiences regarding the software.

Are You Color Blind? ( Check Now)

2011-06-26T07:47:00.000-07:00

Color blindness or color vision deficiency is the decreased ability to perceive differences between some of the colors that others can distinguish.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Color blindness occurs when there is a problem with the color-sensing materials (pigments) in certain nerve cells of the eye. These cells are called cones. They are found in the retina, the light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the inner eye.
If you are missing just one pigment, you might have trouble telling the difference between red and green. This is the most common type of color blindness. Other times, people have trouble seeing blue-yellow colors. People with blue-yellow color blindness almost always have problems identify reds and greens, too.
The most severe form of color blindness is achromatopsia. A person with this rare condition cannot see any color. Achromatopsia is often associated with lazy eye, nystagmus (small, jerky eye movements), severe light sensitivity, and extremely poor vision.
Most color blindness is due to a genetic problem. (See: X-linked recessive) About 1 in 10 men have some form of color blindness. Very few women are color blind.

Symptoms

Symptoms vary from person to person, but may include:

Trouble seeing colors and the brightness of colors in the usual way
Inability to tell the difference between shades of the same or similar colors

Often, the symptoms may be so mild that some persons do not know they are color blind. A parent may notice signs of color blindness when a child is learning his or her colors.
Rapid, side-to-side eye movements and other symptoms may occur in severe cases.

Tests

Ishihara Colour Test,

The Ishihara Color Test is an example of a color perception test for red-green color deficiencies. It was named after its designer, Dr. Shinobu Ishihara, a professor at the University of Tokyo, who first published his tests in 1917. The test consists of a number of colored plates, called Ishihara plates, each of which contains a circle of dots appearing randomized in color and size. Within the pattern are dots which form a number visible to those with normal color vision and invisible, or difficult to see, for those with a red-green color vision defect. The full test consists of 38 plates, but the existence of a deficiency is usually clear after a few plates. Testing the first 24 plates gives a more accurate diagnosis of the severity of the color vision defect.

Take Ishihara test click , HERE
HERE

Take colorblindness test right now:

Treatment

There is no known treatment.

Expectations (prognosis)

Color blindness is a life-long condition. Most persons are able to adjust without difficulty or disability.

Complications

Those who are colorblind may not be able to get a job that requires color vision. For example, a pilot needs to be able to see colors.
