Change Color of Command Prompt

To customize the colors of the Command Prompt Window Screen Background and Screen Text, first open a Command Prompt Window:

Click Start - Run - type "cmd" (without the quotes).

Once the Command Prompt Window opens, Click the Control Box in the top left corner of the Command Prompt Window (the button that looks like a C:\ Prompt).

Once the Menu opens, Click Properties - Colors - Screen Background - and change this to whatever color you wish to use. An example will be shown below, in the Selected Screen Colors dialog box, as you make different choices. Do the same for Screen Text.

As you can see, there are other options you can change here as well.

Once you're finished, Click OK, then type "exit" at the Command Prompt to exit the Command Prompt Window (without the quotes).

Delete Recycle Bin Icon

start->run->gpedit.msc-> user configuration ->desktop->remove recycle bin from desktop->double click->change it not configured to enable->apply and ok.

Now Agaiin go to

start->run->gpupdate.exe and press enter.

your recycle bin icon is gone from desktop
And you will need to revert your settings for get that back.

after reverting setting make sure to run gpupdate.exe command.

Gmail DOT Trick

You will get logged in to example@gmail.com If you use
email as : s.omeone@gmail.com
password : abcd

password : abcd
email as : som.eone@gmail.com
password : abcd
email as : Someon.e@gmail.com
password : abcd
and so on..

That means gmail does not count periods (.). So isnt its Great ...

So you can use this trick for using the same email for various GPT, PTC, Twitter accounts as they interpret all the above emails as different but gmail considers it the same.

How to convert a FAT volume or a FAT32 volume to NTFS

Note: Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion is minimal, we recommend that you perform a backup of the data on the volume that you want to convert before you start the conversion.

To convert an existing FAT or FAT32 volume to NTFS, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
2. At the command prompt, type the following, where drive letter is the drive that you want to convert:
convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs
For example, type the following command to convert drive E to NTFS:
convert e: /fs:ntfs
Note If the operating system is on the drive that you are converting, you will be prompted to schedule the task when you restart the computer because the conversion cannot be completed while the operating system is running. When you are prompted, click YES.
3. When you receive the following message at the command prompt, type the volume label of the drive that you are converting, and then press ENTER:
The type of the file system is FAT.
Enter the current volume label for drive drive letter
4. When the conversion to NTFS is complete, you receive the following message at the command prompt:
Conversion complete
5. Quit the command prompt.

Finding IP address in Yahoo! Mail

Steps To Follow....

1. Log into your Yahoo! mail with your username and password.
2. Click on Inbox or whichever folder you have stored your mail.
3. Open the mail.
4. If you do not see the headers above the mail message, your headers are not displayed. To display the headers,
* Click on Options on the top-right corner
* In the Mail Options page, click on General Preferences
* Scroll down to Messages where you have the Headers option
* Make sure that Show all headers on incoming messages is selected
* Click on the Save button
* Go back to the mails and open that mail
5. You should see similar headers like this:
Yahoo! headers : name
Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets [ ]. Here, it is 202.65.138.109.
That is be the IP address of the sender!

Go to the registry editor

In the right hand pane for the Explorer key, create a new "DWORD" value named ViewNoDrive

Double click the new value and enter the value as.......

for hiding A drive set value as 1 , for B its 2 and C its 4 and so on and for Z its 33554432

generally multiply it by 2 for the next alphabet to hide.
Once done, reboot or log off and login in again. Then try double clicking the drive you made inaccessible.
You should receive a message stating that the drive cannot be accessed

Remove Run Option From Start Menu

Open Registry Editor By Typing Regedit on cmd

Double click on "NoRun" and change "ValueData" from 0 to 1.

Close Regedit, and restart computer.

you will see there is no run option in start menu

If you try on your pc and want to bring that option back
then again change the value to 0

Auto Logon In Windows XP ..

For automatically Login to XP just follow these steps ..

1. Click Start –> Run, and type “control userpasswords2″

2. You will see a new Window, now in that window, Untick “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”.

3. Click OK, and the you will see a new window asking you to type in the username and password with default username as Administrator.

4. There you can put in the username you want to specify and put in the login details, click OK, and thats it, you are done with this.

This was so simple. Do try that if you are having different user accounts on a single computer, you can type in the guest account login details as well.

Create Bootable USB Drive to Install Windows Vista

1. First format your USB drive in NTFS file system. You can do it by attaching your USB drive to your system and then format it from My Computer window.

2. Now open Command Prompt window from Start menu. Right-click on Command Prompt entry in start menu and
select "Run as administrator" option.

3. Now type diskpart in Command Prompt window and press Enter. It'll launch DiskPart program:

4. Now provide following command:

list volume

It'll show a list of all drives in your system. Look for your USB drive entry. As in the below screenshot, the USB drive is "G" which you can determine from its "Type" entry.

Now you have to select the USB drive volume by providing select volume no. command. Since in our case volume no. of USB drive is "Volume 4", the command would be:

select volume 4

Now we have to make this drive active. So provide active command:

active

Now exit from DiskPart using exit command.

5. Now we need to create Boot sector on USB drive. We'll use "bootsect.exe" utility for this task. You can find this utility in Windows Vista setup disk. It'll be present in "Boot" directory.

Now provide following command in Command Prompt:

bootsect /nt60 G:

Here G is drive letter of USB drive. Replace it with the correct drive letter if your system has some other letter for USB drive.

6. At last, copy all files/folders from Vista Setup DVD to your USB drive and you have done.

Now you can boot using your USB drive and can install Windows Vista in any system.
