Afterwork Cravings at A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante

If you know me or have been reading my blog or last posts, you would have noticed by now that I have an addiction and I just cant help it. I guess I am a pizza and pasta-HOLIC. You know how a common question goes like, if you can only have one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is my answer.

I have been craving for pizza for days and one Sunday night after work, I gave in,haha

We went to A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante in Glorietta to satisfy our pizza cravings.

What We Ordered:

Baked Ziti with Meatsauce P305

The Verdict:
The baked ziti has a huge serving probably good for 2-3 persons and its good but not that good, you know what I mean. Then the pizza also tastes average and has too many onions for my taste. I also didnt like the fact that they use the Jufran Hotsauce because its so hot (in a bad way) and the hotness lingers in your mouth long enough that it can be painful.

I was walking around Glorietta and saw this new restaurant in G3 just right accross Kenny's Rogers. I was on a diet, but oohhh for the love of pizza and pasta, im in!

The Verdict: 
I so love their ravioli. I have tried the Italian Sausage and the 3-cheese and I love them both! The pizza is also really good and the prices are very affordable. Oh gosh, I'm already thinking of stopping by before I go home.=)

Stopover: Tacsiyapo in Gerona Tarlac

On our way back to Manila from Baguio, I was pretty excited for our stopover dinner (or should I say breakfast? Its 1:00am and we havent had dinner) because it would be my first time to go to Isdaan in Gerona Tarlac and I have been hearing a lot of stories about their tacsiyapo wall that I have planned to visit a long a time ago when my heart was broken.haha

The place is really interesting because they have a lot of statues from buddha, monkeys, past presidents and security guards. Aside from that, they also offer different attractions like free fish if you sing the karaoke, feeding fishes, bands , dancers and the famous tacsiyapo wall.

The place was huge and they have nipa huts suspended over a pond full of Koi fishes. After taking a few pictures, I have decided to just stay at the hut because I was so hungry. Unfortunately, we called the waiters numerous times but to no avail.

All of them were busy serving other tables and it took them 30 minutes just TO GET THE ORDER. I dont know, maybe they have limited staff during that time because it was already 1am, but wth? Bad service is bad service and I don't care what time it is!

They served the food 30-45 minutes after the order was taken. We ordered Ginataang Alimasag (they serve it per 100g), Sinigang na hipon and Spicy shrimps.

It was expensive! 1kg of alimasag (crabs) would cost over P1,000, the taste is average and if I went to Tarlac just for this, I would be disappointed. Good thing this was just a stopover.

Under the Sea @Malapascua Island

Diving has always been one of the things that I wanted to do. To know what its like to actually see the view below the waters, up close and personal. But since I'm not the best swimmer there is, I was hesitant to try it.

For my birthday I wanted one thing off my bucket list and this time, it would be diving! So off I went for a trip to Malapascua Island to discover scuba diving.

We contacted one of the dive shops (near Ging-Ging's Restaurant) and arranged our schedule for diving. We got our DSD (discover scuba diving) for P2500 and Sam's fun dive for P1200 since he is a licensed diver.

We went to Bantigue Island for the briefing near the shore and then off we go to the site where we can see soft corals.

Before the dive; TIPS FROM SAM:
1.Drinks lots of water
2.Take a rest before the dive
3.Equalize — Begin equalizing before your head submerges and continue to equalize frequently during descent.

Equalization is the act of forcing air into an open space to offset increasing hydrostatic pressure. This can be applied to such spaces as a dive mask or the diver's ears, and prevents what is known as a squeeze.

After the briefing, I got a bit scared because its different to breathe through a tank. Its also important to listen very carefully to the dive master so you know what to do once your under the water and lastly but I think one of the most important, DO NOT PANIC.

The first few meters on our way down was scary because it would hurt your ears but you just need to equalize underwater ear pressure.

After descending, I cant stop looking at the surface cause I cant actually believe I was that deep under the water. I didn't touch anything because I was scared that they would move or could be poisonous or something, but it was so much fun.

But the view under water is really different compared to snorkeling. Its like having a backstage pass for a concert. I felt like I was Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I felt like I was visiting my fishes in the tank in Doodle Fish Farm, up close and personal..hahaha

My summer started early this year with my CamSur Adventure where I got to try wake boarding for the first time. I wanted another thing off my bucket list and this time its diving, so my next stop? Malapascua Island in Cebu:)

How to get there:

From airport, you can take a cab to the Northern Bus Terminal (approx P200 for metered taxis) then you can take a bus to Maya port (P170) or rent a van for P2000. Travel time is approximately 4-4.5 hrs for bus and 3 hrs if you rent a van.

From Maya port, there are boats waiting for passengers going to the island for P80. Travel time is about 30-45 minutes.

Malapascua Island

We checked in at Purple Snapper, and got our rooms for P2400 for 2pax/night. The resort has a pool and its own restaurant. The place was great but thing is, its not located in front of the beach so you still have to walk for like 3 minutes to get to the beachfront.

One thing that I noticed about the island is that it is full of foreigners, probably because the island was endorsed in LonelyPlanet and very famous among divers because you can actually dive here to see thresher sharks up close.

When it comes to food, there are a lot of restaurants within the island. You can try Ging-Ging's Restaurant if you're on a budget like us.

I didn't like this place because it took them an hour to serve the food. The food was okay but not great, but as I have said, this is one of the cheapest restaurants in the island.

After lunch, we spent the rest of day at the beach drinking.

Our resort offers Discover Scuba Diving for P2800. We managed to find another dive shop, just beside Ging-Ging's Restaurant and offered it for P2500. For licensed divers, fun dive is for P1200. I wanted to see thresher sharks but sadly, the activity is strictly for licensed divers only. They have other sites to visit for fun dives to see soft corals and so we scheduled our dive the next day.

Day 2 started with our "island hopping". With quotes because I actually thought were going to visit other islands nearby but its more of visiting different sites to snorkel. Rate for island hopping is P250/head with three sites to visit.

We saw a local kid playing with these. These were actually baby sharks that they caught, white tail sharks, if I'm not mistaken.

Our diving was scheduled at about 2:30pm. We just ate brunch at the resort and enjoyed the pool while waiting.

I decided to eat before the dive because we were informed that its really tiring, but don't eat too much before the dive because you might puke underwater specially for first timers like us.

After the dive we went for a walk to look for a place to eat for dinner. I heard Angelina's is a good restaurant that serves Italian food. Watcha say? Italian? Its time for pizza and pasta!

Angelina's is quite far from the resort, about a 15 minute walk or so, but was worth it.

After our sumptuous meal, we rode a "habal-habal" (single motorbike) going back to the resort. You can actually ride these motorbikes for P10.00 and tour around the island.

Since its also my birthday, we decided to drink a bit beside the pool while waiting for midnight. Then, just when the clock is about to hit 12:00am, they surprised me with my birthday cake.

We woke up early the next day to eat breakfast and to swim at the beach again before we leave. I didn't want to go home yet!

Unfortunately some good things has to come to an end and so after taking some pictures we prepared to leave the island. The boat going back to Maya port will only leave the island with at least 10 passengers so instead of paying P80.00, we paid P1000 for the whole trip so we wouldn't have to wait for other passengers. We also decided to take a van going back to the city. We got the van for P2000 from Maya port to Mactan airport.

The past three days were days spent in paradise. Thanks again Bro for the opportunity to travel:) Oh well, got to get back to work and save for the next trip.See yah!

I departed the busy streets of Manila and arrived at Mactan Airport in Cebu at about 6:30 PM. I was pretty excited cause my next three days would be spent with sand on my feet and the sound of waves waking me up in the morning.

Just before I drown with my thoughts on how the next three days would be like, my stomach started to churn. Its dinner time!

My friend in Cebu suggested a few restaurants in the city. We decided to have sea food and she brought us to Orchid St. Capitol Site where several restaurants are located.

I love the mixed seafood sinigang. It has shrimps, crabs, scallops, mussels and its good for 2-3 persons.

The hot and spicy shrimp platter is also a great choice, spicy and crispy.

When we asked for the bill, we were shocked, its less than P500 and theres 6 of us! Its cheap since we had seafood and what we had would normally cost more than P1000 in Manila. Good food, good company, now that's a good start for my vacation.

After dinner, we headed back to my friend's place where we will be staying for the night. I have to get a good night sleep and prepare for tomorrow!

Baguio's Flower Power

Straight from the beaches of Bicol where I spent my last 3 days over my CamSur Adventure, I hurriedly went back to Manila and met with friends for a road trip off north. Its Febuary and Baguio is the place to be for Panagbenga Festival. Ohhh yeah for the love of flowers and of course, friends.

Panagbenga Festival is a month-long annual flower festival occurring in Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. The term means "season of blooming". The festival, held during the month of February, was created as a tribute to the city's flowers.

We rented a van for P13,0000 including gas and toll. We left Taguig at about 1:00 PM and reached Baguio at about 8:00 PM. We went directly to SM Baguio to have dinner and then headed to the house that we rented just a few minutes away from SM.

It was a two storey house and we rented the first floor with two rooms and one shared rest room. One room has 3 beds and the other has 2 beds. Another group was resnting the second floor during that time. Everyone are free to use the living room, dining room and the kitchen, complete with kitchen utilities.

After resting for a while in the room, some of us were not ready to call it a day yet, including me.hehehe
So we took a cab to Burnham Park where there is a long stretch of vendors selling "Ukay-Ukay" or second hand clothes.One side of the road was closed just for this and I heard that they do this every saturday during the Panagbenga Festival and its open until around 1:00 AM.

And I must say they are so cheap! They were selling clothes for P10.00-P50.00, cardigans for P25.00 and jackets for P200.00 up. I bought a leather jacket for P600.00, it was a really a bargain.

Another thing that I loved is that at the end of the street, there were food vendors waiting because people must be hungry after shopping. We had midnight snacks and headed back to the house.

I didn't sleep anymore because we had to take turns taking a bath and had to leave so early in the morning to find a good spot for the parade.

The parade usually starts near the Victory Liner Bus Terminal so headed there. On our way, we already saw some floats also headed to their starting point. We decided to walk instead so we can also take pictures close to the floats.

Everyone was busy taking pictures or videos. Crowd's favorite were the floats from GMA and ABS-CBN because of the presence of celebrities.

It was my first time to go to Panagbenga and I had fun! The floats were so full of color and everybody was in a festive mood. I enjoyed the street foods, the ukay ukay and the cold weather. The festival according to estimates was a whooping 1.5 million tourists. Phew!

Camsur Adventure

Caramoan, isolated from the rest of Camarines Sur, though has been famous because of Survivor is still unexploited from commercial tourism.

From Manila, we took a plane bound to Naga. Departure supposedly was 6:30am but Cebu Pacific called me a day before the flight to inform me that the flight was moved to 9:30am.Crap.

The original plan was to take a van to Sabang from SM Naga, but since the flight was delayed, we had to take a cab from the airport instead or else we'll miss the last boat trip to Caramoan.

From airport, we took a cab, you can contact Kuya Bebot 09177649080 or 09298377045. The rate from airport to Sabang is usually P1500 but we haggled it down to P1000. Each cab can accommodate max 6pax and the trip is about 1.5 hours to Sabang Port.

Trips to Sabang-Caramoan starts 7:00am-2:00pm for P120.00 each. We reached Sabang at about 12:00 pm and just ate in a carinderia near the port for lunch.

Trip from Sabang to Caramoan is about 1.5-2 hours.

When we arrived at Caramoan, we took a tricycle to Rex Tourist Inn, 15-20 minutes from port,where we stayed. We got our room for P800/night with ac/private bathroom/tv and cable.

We didnt have that much options when it comes to food in Caramoan. The cook in Rex Tourist inn wasnt available and so we have to check the other options outside. Just a few blocks away from the hotel, there are carinderias and small restaurants to eat.

The next day, we prepared to go island hopping. We arranged a tricycle to pick us up from the hotel (back and forth to Paniman beach, P300). We contacted Kuya Ramil 09074351962 our boatman and arranged the island hopping for tomorrow.
Early morning, we had breakfast at Lutong Bahay, just a few blocks away from Rex.
They serve home cooked meals at very cheap prices and opens very early too! (6:00 AM)

It was a good 15-20 minute tricycle ride from Rex tourist inn to Paniman beach where other hotels can be located as well. The rates for beach front accommodations are more expensive compared to what we got which is located at the centro. I personally don't recommend getting beachfront rooms because the beach there is not clear, you really have to go the islands for the clear waters.

Rates for island hopping is P1500 for short trips (approx 4 nearby islands) or P2500 for long trips (approx 4 island also that's quite far from Paniman). We wanted to visit as much islands as possible since we have all day. Short trip plus long trip, (8 islands in total) is usually charged for P3,000 but we haggled the price down to P2500.

We also asked Kuya Ramil to prepare lunch for us.( alimasag 1kl and rice) He said that a kilo would cost P300 and he'll cook our lunch for free.

All set, let's go island hopping!

Cotivas island was our first stop. There is an island fee of P50.00 each. The island is one of the spots where survivor was filmed (and the only island who charges, hehe) We tried to snorkel but we did not find any corals here.

Second stop was Manlawi island, which is famous for its long sand bar. Sadly, it was high tide when we got there so the sand bar was knee length below waters.

When we got to the third island, Sabitang Laya, the scenery changed. We started to see rock formations like the ones in Coron.

We just took some pictures, swam for a bit and took a lot of pictures again.hahaha Then we decided to move on to the next island where we will be taking our lunch.

There are a lot of people when we got there.Looks like most tourists were having their lunch in the island. We prepared our food and ate our lunch.

There is also a secret lagoon that can be found behind these rocks and you have to climb to get to the other side. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to climb cause I only have my slippers and the rock edges were too sharp.

We visited two more islands and decided to call it a day because we were so tired. When we got back to Paniman beach, we took a tricycle back to the hotel. We had dinner at Lutong Bahay because that's the closest to the inn.

We woke up early the next day to catch the earliest trip back to Sabang. We had "Pansit Bato", one of the common breakfasts that they have in the island. Tastes like the normal pancit canton but the texture of the noodles is different.

When we reached Sabang, there are vans there directly to SM Naga P90.00. We checked in at CBD Plaza Hotel, we got our room for P1300/night. The good thing is that the hotel is near SM Naga and in front of the bus terminal so the pasalubong shops are just across the street.

After we checked in, we left our things at the hotel and had lunch at SM Naga. I was pretty excited to go to CWC because I really wanted to try wakeboarding.

From the hotel, you can either ride a cab to CWC P300 or take a bus bound to Pili and ask the driver to drop you off to CWC then take a tricycle, P50.00 for special trips.

A bird's Eye View at Pico de Loro

I love beaches, no doubt about that, but last weekend I got to discover a different view, a different way to explore the world and its hidden wonders. Last weekend, I felt what its like to look from the bird's eye view.

We rode a bus from Lawton Manila to Ternate/ Naic Cavite. Fare is P68.00, travel time is around 1.5-2hrs. Then from the bus terminal, you can ride a tricycle to the starting point, P75.00 per person, 3pax per tricycle. From the starting point, registration fee is P20.00

The Hike
Since its my first time, I didnt know what to expect. All I know is that the activity requires hiking and a lot of water. Then, they said that the hike is about 4-5 hours. Oh gosh what have I gotten myself into?

After an hour of walking, we reached base camp one. Climbers can sit here for a while and rest. Theres another P20.00 registration fee here. And the best thing about base camp one? They are selling coke in cans! hahha. We rested for about 15 minutes and then we continued to hike. We ate lunch about after an hour or two from base camp, we brought packed lunch.

After looOoong hours of walking, I couldnt count how many times it crossed my mind to quit and just hike back and go home.lol Surprisingly, I reached the top and Im so proud of myself. When we got to the base camp, and saw the view, I almost forgot the misery I went through to get there.

Off to the Peak
We rested for while, put up the tents and decided to go to the mountain peak from the base camp. Its about 20-25 minutes climb to the peak, but the trail is very steep and a bit scary. You have to hold on to the grass and roots to climb up.

When we reached the peak, the view was breath taking. You can also view the beach from the top (ternate beach). I wanted to go to the other 'peak' but its already quite dangerous because its like rock climbing without a rope.

After an hour or so, we decided to go back to the camp before it gets dark. When we reached the camp, we cooked dinner, had some drinks and slept.

I am a morning person and I'm glad that I woke up early. Morning at the camp was so cold. My jacket and blanket wasn't enough to keep me warm that night. A lot of people were already awake taking pictures and waiting for the sunrise.

Going Back We cooked breakfast, then prepared to leave the camp. Going back is much more easier and faster compared to our experience yesterday. It only took us 2 hrs to go back to the starting point.

Its was fun.It was tiring.It was breathtaking (literally and figuratively). I enjoyed this new experience. Thanks to LA, for the invite, Odie and Ken for the company and the rest of the group for the food and for letting us climb with you.

The festival of everything that flies, from kites, planes and balloons. Its also a good opportunity for photographers to take pictures. I would love to ride a hot air balloon but when I learned its more than P5,000 for 30 minutes, I thought, wtf?!?

Bantayan Cebu didnt impress me much, to be honest. Maybe because the beach wasn't that perfect because of the weather but I loved the Ogtong cave, the "DO NOT ENTER" sign didnt stop me from taking a dip.

Finding a place to eat lunch at The Fort Strip one sunday morning, we came across Johnny Rockets near Burgos Circle. I was craving for burger and fries.Perfect!

My love for pizza and pasta makes me want to check out every resto that offers it and find out where the best pizza and pasta can be found. I cant help it. May it be red sauce or cream based, I'm always craving for them.

So one day with a lot of catching up to do with my friends, we went to one Italian restaurant in Paseo Center, Ayala Makati.

I took a picture of the menu (at least part of it) so you can check other food that they serve aside from what were having.

Pasta ranges from Php 200-300. Pizzas are also from Php 200-300. Here's what we ordered.

 The Verdict:

I loved everything that we ordered. I love the Pasta Cremoso score: 9/10 and I know that I would be thinking about this restaurant when I crave for cream based pasta. Though Im not a fan of seafood pastas, I also liked the seafood marinara score: 8/10. The pizza is above average for me with a score of 7/10.

I definitely recommend this restaurant and I would come back soon to check other food on the menu.

Puto Bumbong is a type of puto or rice cake named after the bamboo tube in which it is steamed. It is unusual among puto, being sticky and having a long thin shape and purple color. The elongated shape results from the method of cooking while its color comes from the violet pirurutong rice it is made of. It is served with grated coconut and brown sugar.

After checking the Ayala Triangle Lights show in Makati to feel some Christmas spirit, we checked the restaurants along ayala triangle to look for something to eat. Well, if you noticed Im a big fan of pizzas and pastas so we went to Amici.

Amici also has a branch near Don Bosco Makati where I first tried it. The food was great and has quite a selection of pastas and pizzas. I was looking for a pizza I ordered before (at Amici de don bosco a few years back) with just garlic and cheese and quite disappointed that its not on the menu (what happened?)

Anyways, here's their menu.

Pastas ranges from 250-350 and pizzas from 350-450. Their carbonara is really good, but I not that satisfied with the pizzas though. But over all, Amici is a must try!

We went to Dampa at Diosdano Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City. You have lots of restaurants to choose from and you can also look for private rooms with videoke just like what we did that we got for 500/hr/17pax (not bad)

The concept of Dampa is to go to the wet market and shop for seafood. Then, you can choose among the restaurants so they can cook the food for you with a charge.

We ordered buttered shrimp, crab in chili garlic sauce, calamares, baked tahong and sinigang sa miso. Prices at the market ranges from 200-400 depending on the seafood. The paluto prices are on per kilo/dish.

Let me start with....I love beef. Caldereta is one of my favorites. I also love food on sizzling plates. Its hot and it sizzles.hehe. That's probably the reason why I love Sizzlin Pepper Steak.

Ive been all over the country for the past year but its a surprise, I realized this is my first time to hundred islands, in Alaminos Pangasinan.

Its was never planned, out of the blue the boyfriend, asked me to go with him and his friends at 3:00am. Yeah. I'm still at the office taking calls. I just said that ill take the first bus to Pangasinan after log out.

I guess i didn't know what I was thinking (5 hour bus ride alone, damn it) ahahhaha

It was a long...long...and uhm well, long drive. Since I'm not a fan of road trips (if-you-can take-it-by-plane-then-take-it-by-plane motto) I was so bored and I wasn't able to sleep. The bus left the terminal at 10:20am and I arrived at SM Rosales by 4:00pm where they picked me up to go to his friend's place.

Just ate late lunch real quick, and off we go to Alaminos (which is ANOTHER 2 hour drive) which means I spent my whole day on the road!

We passed by some fish vendors by the road and bought dinner, the fish were cheaper here (I think). We got a kilo of tuna for P120, a small pale full of oyster P120.00 and half a kilo of squids.

Since its already late, we decided to get one of the transient homes near the road and will go island hoping early the next day. We got a place for P2000, has 2 bedrooms (with one matrimonial and 2 single beds for each room) with a/c, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen w/ref and a dining area, quite cheap actually cause the place is huge complete with kitchen utensils and all.

Boyfriend cooked dinner and we had a few drinks after. I was sooo tired since I came from work plus, lets not forget the 5hour bus ride!

There are a lot of transient homes available there that ranges from P2000-P2500. We decided to get a more spacious place near the road vs just one room near the shore for the same price.

Its just a half day island hopping since we have to go back to Manila before 8pm. It was a 20minute boat ride from dock to the islands.

out of the 100 islands, I got to visit...2! ahahha.. it was a quick trip cause we need to head back to Manila after lunch. Going home, the trip took 4 hours by car via sctex.

Afrique's Pizza Ilo-Ilo

Afriques Pizza, located in Ilo-Ilo, is one of the best pizzas Ive ever tasted. Branches are only located in Ilo-Ilo (sadly), I just hope they would open a branch in Manila cause the food is really good, so good that I wouldn't mind going back to Ilo-Ilo just to satisfy my pizza craving=)

Aside from their famous pizza's and pastas, the restaurant also serves steaks, salads and burgers.

Another thing that caught our attention is when the waiter offered to give us "extra hot" hotsauce, he gave us a small plate with a drop of red sauce. He warned us to just use the tip of our forks and spread some on our food.

And so, I obliged. With the tip of my fork, I dabbed a dot of the hotsauce on my pizza and....he's not kidding! It is really extra hot.The good thing about it is that its spicy, but it doesn't linger on your mouth, that after a few seconds you will want some more!

Filled with curiosity, we asked the brand name cause Ill definitely buy that in Manila. Then the waiter showed us the bottle.

The Verdict:
Best pizza ever! The crust is super thin and crunchy. I think they are using different kinds of cheeses because the peperroni pizza tasted so good. I'm thinking to go back to Ilo-Ilo just to eat their pizza.hahaha

Mindanao Chronicles: CDO-Camiguin

Cagayan de Oro, the city of Golden friendship. My first trip in Mindanao, i expected lots of trees, greens, houses and uhmm..no electricity.ahahha (just kidding!)

We landed at the airport like 10:30am and looked for a ride to the city. There are cabs available outside for P350.00 or vans for P500.00

We checked in at Wills Place, I opted to look for a budget room because were just staying in CDO to try white water rafting and will be leaving early the next day. Here are their rates:

We just changed clothes real quick because the driver from the RED RAFTS is already waiting outside to pick us up. Our package for rafting is P1200 for advanced course (22 rapids) and free lunch. They also have their basic course for P900 with free lunch. You can visit theredrafts or text kuya Rex at 09178556983.

We headed first to the end point to have lunch. Includes rice, chicken bbq, buttered shrimp and fried fish.

Rafting was such a rush and I really wanted our raft to overturn.ahhaha. Too bad it didnt happen so they let me ride the kayak, (thats what the photographers are using) let me quote: *isakay mo nga dyan si maam kasi ang gusto nya yung wild!* ahhahah The kayak was really hard to balance so it overturned twice when we passed by tha rapids.ahahha but that so much fun!

After rafting they dropped us back to the hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs.

Early morning, at about 3am our contact, Kuya Jugs (09058819568) picked us up at the hotel to bring us to Balingoan Port where we will take the first roro trip at 5am to Camiguin. Travel time to port is 1.5 hrs, they have ferry schedules every 30 minutes.

The ferry from Balingoan port to Benoni port (Camiguin) is could take up to 45mins to 1hr.

Whole day tour is for P1500. Since were staying in Camiguin overnight, we decided to go to white island first then after lunch we can go on with the half day tour.

We went directly to Katibawasan Falls first and then he dropped us to the resort to leave our things and have lunch.

We checked in at Sabacajan Cottages ( Ate Josa, 09287225757). Nothing fancy, we just need a room to leave our things and a bed during the night, since we will just stay there for one day and most of our time will be spent outdoors.

A 2-minute walk from the resort, you can find places to eat like this. We had lunch at Kainan sa Tulay, just a typical carinderia, what's odd is that they serve the viand per piece.ahaha (I had adobo, P20 per piece of meat)

After lunch, we headed to the terminal of bangka's going to White Island.

White Island really serves true to its name. Fine, white sand, crystal clear blue calm waters. Haaay

There was a man in the island selling fresh (and still moving!) sea urchins. He said its known as an aphrodisiac, and so we decided to give it a try.

Make sure to get an umbrella because you will really need it. The island doesn't have trees and cottages so the umbrellas will be your only source for shade.

We just stayed at the island for an hour or two since we need to get back to resort by 12:00PM. Kuya Genel, our driver will pick us up there to tour the island.

First stop of our tour is the famous Sunken Cementery. BTW, if your planning to buy souvenirs,its cheaper if you buy it here.

We just took pictures at the Sunken Cementery, bought some souvenirs and went to our next stop, The Soda Swimming Pool.

They call it Soda swimming pool because they say that the water has bubbles just like soda. The water was so refreshing here. We just stayed there a bit, then went to the Sto Nino Cold Spring.

Water here is indeed really cold! There are also fishes swimming in the water. Outside the restort, there are paluto's available. They have native chicken, pork and beef. You can request to have it grilled (they call it sugba), tinola or adobo. Chicken is 280/KL. You can also order fresh buko juice for P20.00 each and they will just serve it there at your table.

Our last stop was the Hotspring (sorry for not taking pictures). We just took a peak inside, took a quick dip and left since were already over the 8 hour limit for our multicab.

The next day, we had breakfast at Terasse, they are open 8am- 10pm.

The food was good! they serve pastas, pizza and sizzlers among others. They also serve beer and cocktails here.

After breakfast we prepared to go to the port since were planning to tour CDO city for a bit since we have a few hours to kill (flight back to Manila, 5pm)

On our way to the port, we stopped at Vjandep's Bakery to buy some pasalubongs, the famous (at the office) Pastel.ahahah It was so good!

Pastel is a bun with sweet (yema) fillings. Yum! Prices are P130.00 for a dozen and P70.00 half dozen.

Since we passed by the store for pasalubongs, we missed the ferry that just left at 10:15am, the next ferry leaves at 12:00 (darn!)..but the most irritating part..THE FERRY LEFT AT 2:00PM. Unbelievable! Ooops i almost forgot, i will text the number of the ferry company just to vent out! ahahha

And because of the delay, we were running to hire a van from Balingoan Airport (3pm)because it would take 2 hours or so to reach the airport and we could miss our flight!

We got a van for P1800, that will bring us to the airport. It was slow, and there's traffic...and then traffic...were still in the road...its 4:40PM. Our only hope? Delayed flight.

When the van stopped, with the ticket at hand, I ran to the check in counter (yeah just like in amazing race) ahha...and....
