For years the war has waged, and yet the world continues to be divided distinctly in two. This is the saga of the three pointed star and the propeller, and their most contested warriors - the E-Class and the 5-Series. It was the year 2009 and Mercedes-Benz struck a devastating blow to the established order. Up until then there had always been a distinct demarcation of territories between the Mercedes E-Class and the BMW 5-Series. The E was always the more opulent one - focussing wholely on luxury and pampering. The image of outright performance and driving pleasure belonged to the 5 with its near-perfect handling, aggressive styling and overall feel. But the new E-Class was radically different.

The truce had been broken and in its all-new guise, the E was now moving closer to BMW territory than it ever had before. It transformed to a machine with mean styling and loads of attitude, but the best part was the way it now felt to drive - planted and reassuring like it always had been but begging for a whole lot more action from its drivers.

Bavaria couldn't take this assault on its space too lightly - something had to be done. The sixth generation had to bring the 5 back to BMW roots and while at it, also had to send a strong message back to its rivals in Stuttgart. The car had to be subtler in appearance and had to cut into Mercedes territory just as the E-Class had cut into theirs. The new 5-Series had to be just as good to drive as its previous generation had come to be known for, yet had to get more luxurious on the inside - an acceptable balance had to be met, and it has

BMW cars and prices

Established on March 7, 1916, BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH) has now became one of the major automobile manufacturers in the international market.
Cycle World called it “revolutionary” after they took it for their inaugural spin, and while this incredible—and incredibly stunning—new machine is indeed all that, it’s also much more, marking a truly evolutionary shift in the future of high-performance sport-touring motorcycles. Decades of innovative engineering has brought you features like layered, MotoGP-inspired bodywork that’s literally fused in seamless perfection for optimal aerodynamics. An all-new, super-compact Unicam® design 1237cc V4 engine, fueled by Honda’s first-ever Throttle By Wire system. A slipper clutch. Combined Braking with standard ABS. And lastly, in what is perhaps the most groundbreaking advancement, an optional automatic dual-clutch transmission complete with F1-style paddle shifters!

The 2010 VFR1200F. And Why Would I Want One?

You go to a bike shop and you'll find only two kinds of bikes, right? A road/racing bike for going fast, and mountain bikes for going through the woods.

If that's what you've been led to believe, you're in for a treat. Hybrid bikes -- the fastest growing category of bikes sold -- are quickly becoming the ride of choice for people who want the best of all worlds. They've got the speed and lightness of a road bike, combined with a more comfortable upright riding position and extra durability and control of a mountain bike.

So, if you're mostly riding on paved roads or bike paths but don't want to be all hunched over on the bike like you're a racer in the Tour de France, a hybrid may be right for you.
The new-generation YZF-R1 is more closely linked to our MotoGP winning M1 than ever before. For 2009 this legendary motorcycle is equipped with an all-new 998cc inline four-cylinder engine with a crossplane crankshaft that runs with an uneven firing interval of 270º - 180º - 90º - 180º. This innovative new design ensures superb throttle linearity, giving a feeling that the rider’s throttle hand is directly connected to the rear tyre.

suzuki GS150R full detailz

Imported super bikes have a cult status among Indian bike aficionados. Cash-rich, style-savvy Indian youth never mind exorbitant pricing of the high-performance superbikes like Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki Ninja. These awesome machines ply on the Indian roads enthralling motorbike enthusiasts. As the home-grown automobile manufacturers are yet to come up with genuine high-speed superbikes, these are imported from other countries.

It is a common question why Indian manufacturers don’t make superbikes. The is that the common Indian bike rider is a commuter and not an enthusiast and that is precisely what Indian bike manufacturers cater to (the sub 150 cc segment having the highest volumes). Of course any manufacturer would make what is in demand. So when it came to ultra performance superbikes, they had to be imported.

Indian Government had put restrictions on import of more powerful bikes. However, these were eased in the EXIM Policy 2001.

R15 engine specification

VEHICLE SUMMARY

After Yamaha's 1000cc YZF-R1 and Monster & Multistrada from Italian moto-major Triumph, now it is the turn of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan has launched two super sport bikes, Hayabusa and Intruder M1800R, for Indian roads at a price tag of Rs.12.50 lakh.

Hayabusa the world's fastest bike, which got it's maximum popularity through the movie "Dhoom" in India, is finally on the Indian roads officially.

Even in these days of recession, Suzuki aims to sell around 350-400 bikes in one year, i.e. around 1 bike per year.According to the company, it has already got orders for around 38 bikes.

Depending upon the response to these products, Suzuki —among the largest manufacturer of bikes in the world after fellow Japanese makers Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki—also plans to bring its GSX -R series of motorcycles to India.

“We are currently evaluating the market. A lot of the product launches depend on the market response to the Hayabusa and Intruder, though we are expecting higher demand for the much smaller GSX-R sport bikes, which are in the 400 cc to 600 cc range of engine power,” Mr Gupta said.
