London, 13 November 2008 - Actix, the recognized market leader in radio frequency (RF) simulation and optimization solutions, today announced that a new student edition of their popular, state-of-the-art Radiowave Propagation Simulator (RPS) will be made available for download free of charge with immediate effect. RPS can be used as a strong base to study the effects of LTE and MIMO.

Actix' free RPS download is a fully-functional version, with only minor restrictions on the size of datasets supported, allowing students free access to study RF propagation in small radio environments using the full set of tools available to the professional user. RPS can be used to generate simulations of small indoor and outdoor radio environments such as WLAN, WIMAX, Mesh, UMTS, CMDA2000, and LTE, allowing investigations into the effects of penetration, reflection, diffraction, polarization, new 4G modulation techniques and new smart antenna technologies.

"Actix is a radio engineering and optimization company, with strong roots in the academic community and we would like to give the next generation of RF engineers the chance to use the same suite of tools they will find being used in the industry", said Joerg Schueler, Director of Automatic Optimization Products at Actix. RPS uses full 3D ray launching algorithms to predict the precise performance of radio channels, an approach that has several advantages over other algorithms, making it the best choice for high performance propagation prediction, accurate coverage results, and the teaching of best practises. RPS Student can be upgraded to allow unlimited parallelization for more in depth research needs - one reference installation consists of a fully equipped 56-processor blade server, each running a separate prediction engine. The latest release also allows the study of MIMO technologies, when combined with suitable plug-ins.

RPS has an integrated Environment Editor with layer support, plug-in support for custom propagation models, surface plots, and post-processing applications, and can import environment data from dozens of source CAD formats. RPS also has several built-in 2D/3D surface plot functions that provide overviews of a wide variety of results, including:-

The majority of the Indian public will not be able to afford this but it is mainly for the upper class people as each game will be costing anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 rupees. HUMMER IN INDIA

General motors has made it public that they are looking at negotiations seriously with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. regarding launching the Hummer in India with full fledged availability.

GM had admitted to this in Thailand at the plant opening for production of new cars. There have also been talks of GM selling their Hummer division to the Indian company but that idea seems to be far fetched for the moment. Although there are several automakers in Russia and also China who could be interested in such a deal.

The company has been reporting its worse numbers in their corporate history and is looking to raise capital with the sale of its assets.

THE NEW HTC S740 MOBILE WITH DUAL KEYPAD

HTC has come out with a design which others have not dared to try. A dual keypad one with a normal keypad on the top like any ordinary phones and the slider opening up to unveil a full scale QWERTY keypad.

The only awkward thing we notice in the phone is the screen when used with the full-scale keypad. It just doesn't fit. When using a QWERTY keypad you need a complete display to view emails and other things but due to the 12-keypad on the front this is not possible.

The data connectivity offered by the HTC S740 is faster than 3G coming up to over 7MBPS. The phone weighs around 140 grams and measures 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm with a 2.4 inch QVGA display. Normally we would expect a VGA display but due to the small scren size we will have to settle for QVGA. Other features like Wi-Fi which has become customary in all new phones along with 256MB of inbuilt memory, 3.5mm audio jack, and Usb 2.0 port.

The S740 comes with a Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system running on Qualcom MSM7225 , 528 Mhz processor. The phone is WCDMA compatible along with HSDPA and GSM capable. There is GPS and AGPS navigation along with a FM radio built-in.

This HTC smartphone is scheduled to be released in mid September 2008 and could retail for $550 without carrier subsidy.
