That is, assuming you view failure as a temporary setback and then move on. You should want to fail. You should expect to fail. Failure is only failure if you stop trying. The worst failure is to never start for fear of ridicule. It was called the new world. Being called the new world implies that there is an old world, and thus, there was. The rest of the world existed. Europe had been civilized for centuries and the east and mid-east for even longer. Africa, the home of Egypt had once known the most advanced civilization in the history of time.

In the last 100 -150 years, the civilization in North America has advanced far beyond any that have ever existed before it. For the first time ever, a civilization exists that brings clean food and water to its citizens homes, and in return carries waste food and waste water away disposing of it in a responsible manner. The rest of the world had thousands of years to imagine and develop such a system and it failed to do so.

Now we, in America, are made to feel guilty for what we have. Guilty for developing pollution control that exceeds that of any other country up until this time. Yes, there may be some smaller countries that are "cleaner", but they are smaller for one thing, and more importantly, they would not have the technology to be cleaner had it not been for the USA.

Look about the world and wonder where freedom came from? Where did the freedom to create the great society we currently enjoy get its roots?the world enjoys it freedom to hate the US because of the US. US citizens enjoy the freedom to complain, criticize, and even hate the US because the US gave them the freedom to do so; they hate the very thing that allows them to hate.

Where would we be without that one time experiment in a constitutional republic? Where would we be without those initial thoughts that man can accomplish anything he puts his mind to if governments stay out of his way? Where would we be if a few people did not first believe that it should be possible for a poor person to rise above it all to become fabulously wealthy? These thoughts formulated America and are the "American dream". The American dream is not that everybody should have, but that everybody should have the right to strive for something better than what they were born into. It is not about taking from some and giving to others, it is about earning from the others as they freely pay for services.

If we believe we are poor, we will remain poor. If we focus on sickness we'll be sick. We attract to ourselves that which we think about. If our minds are full of greed, hatred, or envy we will eventually be surrounded by greed, hatred and envy. We will only see bad in people because the only things our minds will let us see are those we perceive as bad.

It is odd that this is a hard lesson because there is but one thing the human mind can control and that is its own thoughts. Nothing else in the physical or spiritual world can be controlled for there are fundamental laws that cannot be broken. Interestingly, many things we perceive as unchangeable can be changed by thought.

Why is so difficult to understand the power of your own mind. Nothing in this world, or outside of it, ever existed without first being created by a thought. Indeed, the universe itself came into being by the spoken word of a single thought. Our churches do not tell us this.

Go to a forest and examine the trees. Some trees are larger than others choking off the sunlight and consuming the soil nutrients of the smaller growth surrounding it. Is this tree evil, or is it merely surviving according to the physical laws of the universe that it is bound to live within. Are we better than trees, of course, for we have thought and the ability to control our own actions. But, it is not a sin that we consume sources and, if we have the ability, grow larger than the other trees. No trees ever grow exactly the same size.

Many of our churches, and some political belief systems tell us we should be the same size. The churches tell us that we are where we are because it is God's plan. They tell us to accept our position in life and wait on Him. Did not God give us control of our own thoughts? Did not God give us the power to make our own decisions and choose our own path. Don't listen to these churches for they are doing you no favors. Find what it is you want to do in life and stop waiting for "God's plan". His plan is that you use your own mind. You have heard the churches say that each has his own spiritual gift, and then they proceed to tell you to wait tables or do something within a church building. No, this is not your gift! Your gift is the thing in life that you enjoy doing most. If this is selling cars, then your God given gift is to sell cars.

How will you sell cars? Will you get as much money as you can offering little in return? Of course not. You do unto others as you would have hem do unto you. You follow the golden rule. You provide the best deal possible for both you and the person receiving your services. You go the extra mile. For if you go the extra mile your reward will be full.

Use your own mind. Stop waiting. Do something today. Think only about good things that are going to happen to you, for if you think about them they will. Treat others fairly and that treatment will be returned. If not by them, then by someone else.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

You may really be out of work, but you can find a job. These kids did. It's called raid the city dump looking for food to eat and clothes to wear.

I've been to places like this, seen kids like these, but what can you do to help. Donating to that star on TV hasn't solved the crisis. Their predicament isn't caused by the American corporation that may have chosen to locate in their vicinity. It is not caused by bankers, or successful CEOs. No, it is caused by government. Governments of elected and non elected officials who care more about themselves than they care about unfortunates such as these. Sure, the government officials may take money from drug lords or corporations, but it is the government that is at fault for taking the money. There will always be corruption, and wealth is a relative term. I'm sure these kids would think that having a cell phone, a computer, cable television, a house (whether rented or mortgaged), food every day, running water, and clothes to wear would mean you are wealthy. In America, for some reason, you can have all those things and more and still think you are poor.

A tree that began as an idea, flaming out of the bowels of human diversity. As a sapling the tree stood, rooted firm with the idea but flexibly moving in the winds of change that molded it. Though the tree stood firm the ideas around it changed. The tree thickened with growth no longer bowing to the change but resisting it; no longer flexible it stood against the wind often resisting the very idea that planted it. Many have carved their names on the great oak wanting to take credit for it or ride it to their own glory and purpose. The purpose of the tree has not changed, but it's ability to fulfill that purpose has diminished with the rigidity of it's age. Many have sought to cut it down, to plant another in it's place. Others still are happy with it and bask in it's shade.

The tree is old and does not change. It does not bend but it's branches break off in heavy storms. Those that bask in it's shade like the shade when it's convenient, but complain of leaves and acorns in the fall.

There is one thing constant in the universe and that one thing is change. Atoms recombine to form new molecules. Stars die and recombine into new stars. Planets die. The weather cycles from summer to fall, then winter spring and summer again, old things must die so that new life may spring forward. This is how things are.

If they were experts, they wouldn't be on the 24 hour news cycle they'd be out making money. So I don't listen to them, and neither should you. Why listen to constant banter about how bad things are and what government needs to do to fix things? How can government fix things if they can't even fix themselves? What qualifies these elected officials to be our financial managers? What do they know about business?

How to fix things? Confidence! Believe that they will get better. Stop hoarding your cash and invest. Invest in he market, invest in a new house, invest in that new business, hire more employees. Have confidence that things will get better and the economy will grow.

Not false political slogans such as "hope and change", but real honest to goodness desire for something better. We can do it! We are Americans. We are not white, black, red, yellow, blue, or green. We are, or are descendant from, those who came to this land seeking something great. We dream of bettering ourselves and hope to give our children possibilities that we did not have. We do not expect things for free; we expect the laws of nature to give back to us equal proportion to what we put in. We expect to provide service to others and our reward, yes monetary, will be a result of what we serve. We realize that if we serve no one we should get no reward.

We have been bombarded for years by negativity. Our media is quick to tell us that we are the problem. They say our world is sick because of us. They say the poor in the world exist because of us. They call us oppressors. We are not oppressors! We, and our ancestors, escaped lands of oppression and came here in search of freedom. With freedom we expect to live and die based on our own actions and not the actions or whims of government.

It is time for the negativity to stop. Turn off the never-ending talk shows that spew gloom and doom continually telling us that we are the problem. They are the problem. You are what you think you are and you become what you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with positive thought. Know that you can do it if you try. Forget statements like "work harder" and work smarter. Work with goals in mind. Tell yourself what you want to have and pursue it. You can break the bondage that holds yo in place. It is the "devil" that keeps you there. Break free, tell it NO! Tell it you will not call yourself a loser anymore. You will not think that all is lost. No! We will think that the future holds no bounds. We can do it! We can do anything we desire to do, and if that desire gets us what we want without harming others, but providing others with a useful service, we will get it.

If you dream of achieving something based on your work and your ideas then you share the American ideal. America is not a land; it is an idea. America is a desire; the desire for freedom. The desire to achieve, and make life better.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Who and where do you spend your time? Who have you helped lately? Remember the saying "teach someone to fish". Do not operate under the assumption that giving blindly is doing something good, and also, do not operate under the assumption that you must give first to charity and then yourself. No, pay yourself first that you may become self sufficient and no longer enslaved to the trenches of daily labor. Your labors are more effective when you enjoy them and do them because you want to instead of doing them simply to stay alive. Your employers advantage is that you do not need to work.
You become what you desire to be. Without the desire and action on the desire your dreams are but passing and will never become real. Do not say to yourself "I am in this position because God wills", God wills the best for you and assumes that if you follow his will, you will become successful. Success is defined as getting everything you need in life without causing harm to other people.

Thoughts are real, and thoughts are things. You attract to yourself what you think about. If you occupy your mind with poverty and lack, you will always be lacking. Some of you may say you do not occupy yourself like that but your employer does not pay what you are worth. You have chosen your fate. If your employer does not pay well, can you not leave? If you don't leave, then you have chosen your fate, not your employer.

It may be that you should get paid more but you should not. Do you offer more service that that for which you are paid? If you only offer what you get paid for, then why do you expect to get paid more? Didn't you just admit that you only offer service for which you are paid and nothing else?

Do you have ideas that you think may be worth something? What have you done with those ideas? Until you take action on an idea it remains only an idea. Act on your ideas and make them a reality.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Voices screamed out in closed doors to willing participators mean nothing. The American church is dead. Where are the prophets that instead of gloom and doom and end of days preach to the people of their duty to man? Why is the church silent?

A tax free organization is not an organism. It is a vehicle of a corrupt government doing it's bidding. The complacent citizens receive their tax deductions happily hearing why they want to hear and go about their business as if there were no consequences. The tax exempt preachers restrain their voices and limit themselves to telling their listeners what they want to hear. Is today's church Glen Beck and Ann Coulter?

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Return to the wisdom of your youthful poverty. Forget the comfort which has caused you to forget your purpose. Speak out!

We took advantage of the greatest political system to ever exist and we made a living. We concentrated on ourselves, our families, and perhaps our neighbors as well, Some of us built empires, and some of us just got by. We accepted that the free economy and capitalism was just the way things are and the way they will always be.

But for the last 100 years something has been slowly happening. Trickle by trickle the system we accepted as set in stone was eroding. It was so slow we did not notice. You see, we believed we had paid the price. We believed that the debt had been settled and the war was over. We, Americans, suffered tremendously to set an evil right and were under the assumption that it had been done.

Slowly a hatred builds. It builds against those who are not guilty. It builds against those who want to give everybody an equal chance. Not equal opportunity, not equal pay, but an equal chance. Nobody is born with a "silver spoon". In fact, the "rich" fall harder than those born without. The United States is filled with example after example of the destitute becoming the wealthy and the wealthy becoming destitute. That is the secret glory of the free capitalistic society that we have enjoyed.

But the hatred builds, and the irony is that it remains the same. The same political party that scourged our past with slavery is the same political party that keeps its people enslaved still. It keeps them from education, and does not tell them that they too have a chance. Instead, it tells them they have no chance and convinces them to remain as they are.

It is sickening to me that such hatred, and ignorance even exists. There have been but select few to rise out of the mire and realize the truth. These enlightened ones should be admired, but are shunned by their own, and even called traitors. Instead of celebrating their victories, their own families sometimes disown them completely.

I do not have a solution. I wish I did. All I can say is that poverty will always be with us. This I know because our Lord told us so. He rewarded hard work, and He rewarded those who did not depend on others for their daily bread.

They are past lives and ancestors we never knew, yet most of us wish that we did. They are our hopes and our dreams, long forgotten but still residing deep within our souls. We could see them if we tried, but we try not. We bury the fact that we know that they exist for fear of being shunned by society as a lunatic. They are there, watching, hoping, praying that we do things as they would do and not repeat the mistakes that they have done. They are murderers and saints buried in the past and looking on. Their voice is limited to whispers in the dark, innuendos, and dreams. We all hear them, some more than others. We pretend yet we know they are there. We pray to them, we cry to them, we yell at them, yet none of us ask to be with them. None of us seeks them out, none of us, until now.

The church has told me that you are not real. That you are dead and buried, in either heaven or hell, and you are not listening. Who was it then that I had talked to? Who has guided me all these years? I cried out, and you were there to help me. You gave me answers that only you could know. Are you Jesus, or is the church wrong? I have seen you and have heard your voice calming me in the deep recess of my mind. I know that you are there, and I know who you are.

How could I have been here before? How can this place be familiar? I have seen it exactly as it is yet before. I have been here in a time when there were no cars and no people. I have stood on this very mountaintop.

The wilderness calls to me as if calling its own. It owns me as if I am its blood. Mountains in the skyline pull me knowing that I once belonged to them. They know that they are part of me, and I of them. Freedom runs through my veins. Blood spilt is mine, yet I was not there. Calls to action yelling out in the night and in secret were mine, yet I had not been born. The fight to go on belongs to us. It is part of us; it lives and breathes within us.

A black girl was sitting eating Pizza with her toddler when a white girl came by, waved and smiled at the baby, and said hello. The black lady tells the girl she looks familiar. All of us! So what is the real question?

What percentage of Americans have health insurance? We hear that 48 million are without, but 12 million are not citizens. This leaves 36 million. Thirty six million who choose, for whatever reason, to not pay for health insurance. That's 10 %.

Ninety percent of Americans, or 300,000,000, have health insurance. Five times more people than voted for Obama have health insurance. 299,995,000 more Americans than died in Iraq (defending your right to choose) have health insurance.

This healthcare debate is not about health care. It's not About saving money. It's about power, and making you a slave.

Wake up America!
