Talking about paradigm shift...

Last night I was talking to some friends about paradigm shifting...

For those of you that haven't heard about it until now, I took an example out of the internet:

"The Power of a Paradigm Shift
Covey has the best example of a paradigm shift: he was traveling in a subway, a man gets in with his two sons, the sons are running all over the place bothering the people, this continues, so he finally gets irritated enough to ask the father why he doesn't do something to control his kids. The father replies, "We just got back from the hospital where their mother died. I don't know how to handle it and I guess they don't either."

Suddenly you see the everything differently. That is the power of a paradigm shift. They are the same kids yelling and screaming in the subway, but you look at them and understand them in a different way.

I was at the swimming pool the other day and saw a family of three leaving out the door. The little boy suddenly stopped and stood looking through the glass at the swimmers in the pool who were still swimming. The father yelled back to him, "Come on, what are you doing, just staring at things again? Let's go!" I thought about the paradigm that the father had of his son: "stupid, slow kid who's always doing something he isn't supposed to." Now what if the school conselor were to call the father up the next day and tell him, "We have just received the test results back from your son and have discovered that he has impressively high IQ. He is a genius." The next time his kid stood staring at something, I wonder if the father wouldn't go back to him inquisitively and say, "Tell me what you are thinking about son. What do you see?"

Our behavior results from our paradigms of the world. The classic example of the old woman/young woman picture which Covey includes in the book is a good example. You can look at the picture and see an old woman or you can look at the picture and see a young woman. Depending on what you see is what you are going to say about "that picture." "

Then I got home and watched this movie:

I suddenly understood that there are so many things that I have to pay forward. We should all do this.

Sunday morning...

I woke up by myself at 11 a.m...kind of early for a Sunday but nothing special until now... I followed my routine and suddenly I realized that I have been smiling for this whole time:) I feel good!

And this is only because I realized, that, I don't know how, but I've managed to gather important people around me, good friends, real friends, that I care about me and that I trust and care about even more! For me that's a reason worth smiling for! :)

Recently the most weird thing happened to me.... I know some of you will think that it was also my fault because I was too naive, but I really wouldn't want to think that all the citizens of our country have become so lame!

Anyway, I took a cab to come home after work. When I arrived, the driver said that he had no change to give me, I got out of the car to change my money so I can pay him, leaving my backpack on the back seat of the car. When I got inside the house, I noticed that one of my phones was missing, and I realized the last time I've seen it was while I was in the cab. I took the ticket that I took from the driver by force in a way, and that turned out to be my salvation, and I called the cab firm asking for that car and its driver. After I've seen that I can not solve my problem, I went to the police, they called the driver and after long discussions my phone "appeared miraculously" in his car without the Sim card. I am happy that everything has solved, but I am sad that I had to go through this. From now on I will never leave my bag unattended, and I will never get out of the taxi without the ticket.
Is this normal?
Am I guilty that I want to live my life in a country where everything fair and correct is abnormal? Am I guilty that I try to give people a chance of trust without suspecting everybody around?

A new year...

A new beginning.
As in the last days of the year people think of what they have achieved over the past year, in the first days of a new year people use to imagine how the whole year will be, or even better, set some goals.
I know what I've achieved last year, but I have no idea about how the next 12 months will be. Lately my life has been full of unexpected and I got used in being surprised. I even started loving it:))

I started my year close to friends, and after that continued my holiday in a great trip with even greater friends. It seems like a nice beginning for a year. I could get used to it.

Anyway, now I'm back at work with fresh ideas and great expectations. I feel optimistic:)
Ferris Bueller was right, "Life moves pretty fast, and if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

So I wish you all have a great year, and don't forget to enjoy every breath you take!

The month of presents has begun. Everybody tends to be better, happier, and to give away more smiles than often. I think it's the period in which we can afford to let the inner-child come out to surface:)
I must admit that until I moved in this house I haven't felt the Spirit of Christmas so strong in the last couple of years. I now have a second family, I am very happy and I can only hope that Saint Nicholas has brought to all of you as much joy as I received!

And Happy Birthday to all of you who wear the name of Saint Nicholas!

changes...always changes

I decided that from now on I'm going to write my posts in English.
It's not that I have a problem with the Romanian people or language, but I want that everybody who clicks my blog link to understand what I'm saying, even if it's not Romanian.

So...again...it's been a long time since I've written in here. I've noticed that every time I pass through a more difficult period I block myself. I don't like to complain and I keep my problems to myself without stressing other people...

Anyway, this year is coming to an end and like all other people I started drawing lines...
Bottom of line, for me it has been a year full of changes, with good and bad things, which only made me stronger and smarter:)) I learned that it's great to have friends but it's very hard to find them, and one after another family comes first!
I love my family and I know that no matter what happens they will be there for me! Thank you:*

Nu doresc nimanui sa afle ce poti sa simti cand iti vezi prietenii implicati intr-un accident de masina...scapand vii si nevatamati dintr-un morman de fiare...
Brusc realizezi care este pretul vietii, si ca parbrizul pe care l-ai spart tu cu cateva zile in urma e o chestie marunta pe care poti sa o patesti...te gandesti ca tot ghinionul din lume care parea sa se fi abatut asupra ta intr-o oarecare situatie e nimic fata de ce au patit ei.
Si apoi incerci sa pui in balanta... ce s-a intamplat vs ce s-ar fi putut intampla... si e greu ... singurul lucru care mai ramane este sa privesti partea buna a lucrurilor, cu toate ca ea trage dupa ea o parte rea ... si iar e greu ... sentimentul asta contradictoriu care ti se instaleaza in cap si in tot corpul si te urmareste peste tot apoi... si apa trece...dar pietrele raman:(
