I have a question I am wondering if anyone can answer....I am designing a quilt on Quiltography. How do you remove a block you have placed or move it to another square??? I'm sure this is simple! Thanks for any comments.

I just checked the FAQ on their website and it appears to only be available for IOS (iPad) at the moment, but you should let them know that you are looking for it in an Android format. The site said that if demand for it is high enough, they will work on it.

I feel the way you do 100%! I can't understand how sellers can sell a PDF for $10. I can understand a printed copy, mailed to you, can be that much, but PDF patterns should be much cheaper. They will sell WAY more copies and overall make WAY more money on them. I, too, plan to sell patterns in the future (still having fun making quilts for the Moda Bake Shop meanwhile), and I will also sell them at $2-3.

I agree - I just bought the app, which for apps is a bit pricey but so far it's worth every cent I've paid - just for the fun alone! I've photographed some of my fabrics and uploaded them - easy as - I'm enjoying learning new stuff every day! And like you, I've "made" quilts from some of my photos - just great! Now I wish I had taken some of the photos with less clutter, so I'll be more mindful next time.

They can be a little harsh at first, they do lack the warming glow you usually get from a bulb, but, they do have their uses. Just maybe refrain from replacing every bulb in your house :-)

Thank you for the suggestion! This has been an issue with all of my quilts and I hadn't even thought of getting new bulbs to fix the problem. Of course, I've just been reading bulb reviews and I'm really confused now, but I'll just order a few different types and see what I like best.

Hi Ricky,

Just a tip regarding photographing your fabric indoors, or just generally good quality light for Quilting. There are some "Daylight bulbs" that you can buy, they are a little more expensive than a traditional incandescent bulb, but, produce a whiter light that best approximates the colour of natural daylight rather than the yellowish hue that your traditional bulbs create.

You'll definitely be able to download it onto your new iPad. When you buy an app in the app store, it's yours. So as long as you use the same iTunes account for both iPads, you can download anything you've previously purchased.

I have an iPad and an iPad mini and have Quiltography on both and I only paid once.

Thanks, Nancy :-) That sewing machine question made me laugh too... If you don't want to place an order, I'm going to have patterns available for all of my quilts... soonish. It turns out that writing the patterns is a lot harder than making the quilts :-)

Hey, Janice. Any photo you can get into your photos section on the iPad can be used. It gives you a choice between importing from the camera or your photos.

As for buying apps, I agree with you. They add up like crazy; but I've found a way that makes me feel no guilt at all. About once a month I take all of my loose change to the Coinstar and exchange them for an iTunes gift card. That way Coinstar doesn't charge a fee and I feel like I'm getting something for nothing - 'cause I'm definitely not spending good fabric money on apps. I do have my priorities :-)
