Fazil-Lalettan-Mammukka, the team behind the super-hit movie ‘Harikrishnans’ (1998) , is here again to repeat the history. Fazil’s next film will be having the all-time superstars of the industry in the lead roles, as it is heard. But no further details are available, as none of them spoke about it, till date.

"Why is it pointless?"

It isn't the most practical thing to pop into your shirt pocket and is likely to get you odd looks whenever you use it.

"Why is it cool?"

Whole generations are growing up without knowing the satisfaction of slamming down the phone on a rude salesman. The phobile lets you relive that old-school feeling without having to sweep up the remains of your new smart phone.

To be fair, attaching an old-school handset to a modern mobile is a bit like tying a typewriter to a laptop. But that's exactly why we love it. It doesn't make sense, but it's guaranteed to get a laugh and attract attention wherever you may roam. Imagine the look on people's faces when your mobile rings and you pull this whacking great relic out of your pocket.

Recently he had been with Priyadarsan after a gap of seven years and now he will join Sibi Malayil, the director who had once delivered maximum hits with Lal. This new project titled as "Swaminathan" will be another musical and in all probabilities M G Sreekumar, who had heard much for lifting Arabian and Egyptian tunes for the latest "Oru Marubhoomikkadha" will set the music for the film. Hopefully this time M G Sreekumar will come up with some original ones that may match with that of maestros Raveendran and Johnson in the duos big hits like "Kireedam, Dasaradham" "His highness Abdulla", Bharatham"and "Kamaladhalam".

KARMAYODHA Mohanlal | Major Ravi New Film News | Stills | Wallpapers

2012-08-09T22:45:00.000-07:00

After multiple changes of its lead actor and title, Major Ravi is finally set for his next project. The Keerthichakra director has roped in Mohanlal to star in the film that is now titled Karmayodha, as confirmed by the superstar on a social networking site. The film was earlier titled Raksha, before it was named The Chase. But the team seems to have finalised on Karmayodha for the same. Similarly, its lead actor was also changed twice with both Biju Menon and Suresh Gopi being attached to the project earlier.

Ravi had earlier told us that the title The Chase would be tentative but denounced that the project was in any way similar to Raksha. However, a source close to the director says that there has been no major change in the cast or storyline, except that there were a few additions when Mohanlal was signed up for it.

“The new title is to give the project a fresh feel as so much has been discussed about Raksha already that it seems like an old film even before it has been filmed. Ravi hopes the new title with Mohanlal in the lead would renew interest," says thesource.
Interestingly, Karmayodha would also extend Ravi-Mohanlal team's affinity to the letter 'K' after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar.

Mohanlal as a Ghazal singer in 'Sneham + Ishtam = Amma'

2012-02-25T03:26:00.002-08:00

It was earlier reported that our beloved Mohanlal will do an extended cameo in the upcoming Malayalam film 'Sneham + Ishtam = Amma'. As per the current reports, shooting for this new film started at the capital city and Mohanlal will join the set by the end of this month. It's also heard that Mohanlal will have about 3-4 days of shooting for this film.

This new Malayalam movie 'Sneham + Ishtam = Amma', which is all about the deep bonding and love between a mother and son will have Shaheen, a model who has featured in a few music albums as it's hero. Also Revathy is making a comeback to Malayalam cinema after a while and she will play Shaheen's mother in this film.

Mohanlal has agreed to play a lengthy cameo role as a Ghazal singer in this film mainly due to it's director Jayachandran, who is debuting through this film and also was a former associate of late director Bharathan. Other main highlight of this film happens to be Oscar winner Resul Pookutty's acting debut through this film, which also has Vandana and 'Traffic' fame Namitha as heroines.

It also marks the return of the hit pair, Mohanlal-Revathy, and eveyone knows the fact that the pair was well recieved in yesteryear hit films like Kilukkam, Varavelpu, Devasuram, Maayamayooram etc. They were last seen together in the movie Ravanaprabhu. MG Sreekumar and Sajeevan are the music directors of the film produced by Bharath Samuel under the banner of Bharath Creations.

Mohanlal Way ahead of Mammootty

2012-02-25T03:18:00.001-08:00

The year 2011 is moving on an interesting note as the Big M's of Malayalam is facing different fates with their initial movies. As Superstar Mohanlal who had a mixed bag in 2010 (with flop movies like 'Alexander the Great' and 'Kandahar' and hits like 'Shikaar'), has suddenly found himself among success films, Mammootty who had a better year in 2010(with hits like 'Pookkiriraja, Best Actor and Pranchiyettan) is amidst losses with his initial movies of the year.

Mohanlal's two films released in the first five months of the year are acknowledged as success stories. The first to come was 'Christian Brothers' which was released on March 18. The movie by veteran Joshy, opened to breath taking initials and is said to have garnered around 21.5 crores in its 28 day run. The movie made in a budget of 15 crores is reported to have made a producer share of 9 crores in its 27 day run, but thereafter the collections went down drastically. 'Christian brothers ' is definitely a success story as per Box Office collections , if not its budget is considered.

The second movie from Mohanlal in 2011 was the fun film, 'China Town' by Rafi-Mecartin,which is making rich collections from the Box office. This multistarrer with Dileep and jayaram has done extremely well, though the word of mouth was average.

But Megastar Mammootty had a poor year in 2011 with three of his movies already dubbed as poor earners. The first to release in the new year was 'August 15' by Shaji Kailas, which found very hard to survive amidst the wave of 'Christian Brothers' and 'Urumi' which were then ruling the Box Office. The second Mammootty movie to release was 'Doubles' which came up for this Vishu. The movie was acknowledged a failure even by its evening shows. Adding to the woes of the megastar is 'the train' by jayaraj, which is currently in theatres. This movie also will remain a dud with poor collections even in its opening week.

Mammootty will be eagerly looking forward to bounce back with his '1993, Bombay March12, which is said to have good preview reports.
