Google has hinted that if you want to make your website rank in the top then you need to make sure that its loading time is reduced. This is because Google wants to make sure that all the websites listed on the Search Result Pages would load real quick, hence here is a Online Tool offered by a company which offers website monitoring service and which can be tried here. The tool would need you to Enter any website or webpage URL in order to get started after which it would load it completely and give you the stats. You can even try out the Google Page Speed Tool which works similarly giving you some suggestions on how to reduce the load time.

It basically works by loading the total HTML Page which includes all its objects like Text, Images, CSS Files, JavaScript Codes, RSS, Flash Files, Frames/iFrames etc and then give a detailed report which would have complete details on how much time each of the above mentioned individual objects would take to load. Hosting all your advertisements on the same server IP or else on a single server to make sure that whenever your website loads all the ads would quickly loading and the server would not have to connect to multiple resources and increase the loading time.
Compress the Images like GIF or JPEG and make sure that you dont reduce the quality but just the size because thats what that matters in website loading. If you can retain the same quality then there is no issue in compressing the Images.
Fix CSS Files and try to remove the useless CSS Codes which are not going to be used. This means that if you are having a lot of CSS Codes for some functions which arent being implemented then you should remove them and reduce the overall size.
Enable Gzip Compression using different pluins or using modules on your server itself because this can make sure that the output of the files are reduced and would load quicker.

How to Lock any Folder Without using any software?

You might be wondering that How any folder can be locked without using any software like Folder Lock, File Lock, etc. People want to lock the folders that they do not want to share with others or they do not want others view the contents inside the folder. So if you also want to lock a folder which you don't want others to see, you have to read this post carefully and follow the steps given. So now if you are ready to lock a folder, follow these steps :

First of all open a blank Notepad document. To open a blank Notepad document go to Start Menu >>> All Programs >>> Accesories >>> Notepad.
Copy this entire code given below and paste it there.
Now replace " type your password here " with a password with wich you want your folder to be protected.
Now you can save your notepad file with the name " locker.bat ".To do this go to File menu >>> Save As... >>> type locker.bat >>> Save.
Now go to the place where you have saved tha file locker.bat. You will notice a MS-DOS Batch File with the name locker.
Double click it. You will notice a Locker named folder there.
Now just copy what you want to lock and paste it inside the folder named Locker.
Again double click MS-DOS Batch File with the name locker. Now you will notice a black window asking you " Are you sure u want to Lock the folder(Y/N) "
Now press Y and hit enter on your keyboard.
Now the Locker folder will get disappeared.
To unlock the Locker folder double click the same file and enter the password.

Generally when you install/run very big applications like 3DMax, Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Dreamweaver the windows based PC’s start giving you a error message saying – Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file.

Reasons for Low Virtual Memory :

Lets say you are running a application like Adobe Photoshop and while you are rendering a big sized image the pc starts using high amount of RAM and when there isn’t any adequate Random Access Memory on your PC which can handle processing of this data. This is when the PC starts using the Virtual Memory.

What is Virtual Memory :

Temporary storage used by a computer to run programs that need more memory than it has. For example, programs could have access to 4 gigabytes of virtual memory on a computer’s hard drive, even if the computer has only 32 megabytes of RAM. The program data that does not currently fit in the computer’s memory is saved into paging files.

Finding Source of Low Virtual Memory Problem :

In order to quickly solve this problem you need to first find the source of it by checking out the Task Manager and analyzing all the programs to find which one of those is using the highest memory and closing them. This way you can close the programs which you are not actively using and those which use high amount of your memory.

Click on Windows Task Manager > View > Select Columns

Next Click on Select Columns option from the View Menu and Check on Virtual Memory Size Option

HP has introduced a new interactive device dubbed DreamScreen that can be used as a digital photo frame and can also fetch social network updates. New DreamScreen is an interactive digital device that has icon-based touch interface with a 10-inch touchscreen, reported ET. It will require Internet connectivity to perform several functions like fetching status updates, and also promises to offer IPTV service in India. HP DreamScreen will be available in India from November 25 in about 60 cities for an MRP of Rs. 19,999.

WiMAX ready to boost mobile internet in India: Samsung

Making a strong case for WiMAX as the perfect technology for speedy roll-out of mobile internet access in India, Korea-based Samsung Electronics has offered its services and expertise along with its global partners to Indian operators to boost broadband penetration.

“We have successfully deployed commercial mobile WiMAX networks in over three dozen countries in Asia, Americas and Europe, covering 15-crore people, which will go up to 30-crore by the end of this year.
Mobile WiMAX is suitable for India for its speedy deployment,” Samsung Electronics Vice-President (Global Sales and Marketing Team, Telecom Systems) Hung Song told The Hindu. Stating that they were already conducting WiMax-based trials for some BWA (broadband wireless access) spectrum winners, Dr. Song said: “WiMAX is a proven technology that is commercially available for the past five years.”

Referring to the ongoing debate between adoption of WiMAX and LTE (long term evolution) as future technology, Dr. Song said: “LTE as a technology is still evolving. Any new technology takes at least five years to get optimised...whereas WiMAX has already a proven technology. Moreover, trials for the next level of WiMAX, which would be identical to advanced version of LTE, are already on and it will be available for commercial deployment by the end of next year.”

Hung Song

Asserting that Indian operators cannot wait for a new technology after making huge investments in BWA spectrum auction, he said: “Waiting game will only curtail India's growth as global experts say fast roll-out of mobile broadband will add to India's GDP (gross domestic product). We are ready with low-cost devices that supports WiMAX, while we are also ready to speedy deployment installing one-lakh BTS (base transceiver station) a month.”

Pointing out that more than 160 operators in 76 countries were providing or were preparing to offer commercial mobile WiMAX services, Dr. Song said the effort was to bring together ‘G5' nations — the U.S., China, India, Japan and Korea — to show the way to the world how mobile WiMAX can trigger growth of world economy. “China and India can not only produce cost-effective WiMAX-ready devices but also create their own services and applications,” added Dr. Song.

Wink e-book Reader on Croma Shelves by Sept. 1

Bangalore-based EC Media launched "Wink", which they proclaimed is "India's first e-book reader". Well, in the beginning of this year we'd heard of an Indian-origin e-book reader already, but oh well. Then, there's always the Amazon Kindle that supports delivery to a 100 countries (India included). But custom duties have to be bourne and books have to be purchased in dollars.

EC Media is trying to capture the Indian reader's grasp by selling a device that can be picked up from a local electronic store. They've partnered with Croma, a biggie Indian electronics chain, for this. They also have apparently solved another key piece of the puzzle -- the content. Their PR sheet claims to have more than 2,00,000 titles as well as newspapers, magazines and journals that you can buy in Indian rupees. Check their store to see if they have your favorites.
Their repository will also have books written in Indian languages.To start with, they've populated it with Hindi, Marathi among a few other languages. They said soon they will get content from all Indian languages onto the Wink. Books will generally sell for 50 to 75 percent of the cost of a paperback. So for voracious readers, this device could spell a considerable saving in the long run.

The Wink XTS model will start selling on September 1 for Rs. 11,500. It has a 6-inch screen that shows content using e-ink technology, just like the Kindle. The e-ink display emulates the appearance of an actual printed book. It is not backlit like an LCD display on the iPad. So you'll need light to read, just like you would to read a book. The display looked fairly readable indoors; I tried reading under sunlight and it actually looked better. The device is just 11mm thin and weighs as much as a Sidney Sheldon novel. Another good thing about the e-ink display is its low power consumption. On fully charging its 1500 mAh battery, it can run for 300 hours continuously, which is great.

It has 2GB built-in memory and has an SD card slot for expansion. A 3.5mm ear-phone jack and a miniUSB port lie at the bottom of the device. Yes, you can also use it like an MP3 player. The USB cable can be used for charging or for transferring books to the device from a computer. The XTS model on display supports Wi-Fi, while the X3G model supports Wi-Fi and 3G (it sells for Rs. 15,000). An array of formats are supported by the device including TXT, RTF, PDF, DOC, HTML. A QWERTY keyboard underneath lets you input stuff like Memos or search for words within a book. There's also a mail client if you want to use it to send/receive e-mails.

While using the Wink, I felt the build quality to be slightly plasticky. In my usage, the interface had a noticeable lag that didn't make me feel too good. The QWERTY keys aren't the best to type on, and fast typing resulted in missing characters from time to time. Anybody with a typing speed of above 10-15 words per minute will find this irritating. Hopefully, the version that sells in stores will have taken care of these niggles.

The Wink will sell for Rs. 11,500 in India. However, 12 grand for an e-reader is going to be out of the reach of the common Indian man; and will rather be a buy for the upper-market audience. It is two and a half times cheaper than another "pro-reading" device; the Apple iPad. But again, it isn't an fair comparison since the iPad does much more than just displaying books.

Low-cost Nokia 2690 arrives in India

Nokia's latest low-end handset, the 2690, has been launched in India. Priced at just Rs. 3700, it is targeted at the basic user, looking for a no frills device.

The phone has a small 1.2-inch color display. The 128*160 pixel screen is basic. The phone has a VGA camera at the back and also supports video recording - albeit at 176*144 pixels at 15fps. Running the S40 OS, the device comes with basic applications and supports GPRS and EDGE networks for data access. The phone is not 3G enabled, however.

While the internal memory might be nothing to boast about, the phone has a microSD slot that allows users to add up to 16GB of memory! The phone also sports a basic music player and supports FM Radio with RDS.

The phone is available in Graphite, White silver, Hot pink and Blue colors and is on sale now.

How to Start Windows in Safe Mode?

Question : I have been a Windows User from the past 9 years and whenever i install some new software application, i get a error on my computer which asks me to restart the computer in Safe Mode and then uninstall the recently installed software to fix the issue. Iam really confused how to restart the computer in Safe Mode and get access to it because whenever i start the computer it shows me Welcome to Windows Screen and then ‘Loading Windows’ but no option like Safe Mode is found in the Control Panel too. Please help me find it.

Answer : In every Windows Operating System starting from Windows 95, 98/Me, 2000, XP, Vista to Windows 7, you will be able to boot your Windows in the Safe Mode. This means that this isn’t any option in the control panel but starting your computer in a completely Safe Mode where in you can perform different tasks. Anyway in order to get started you will have to from your normal Windows Operating System, click on the restart button and reboot your computer. Once the PC starts loading, following a beep you need to press the ‘F8′ key on your keyboard multiple times so that you don’t miss the function of entering into the Safe Mode.

Next you will find a list of options which would ask you to select one of these as listed below.

Based on your requirements you can select the option and continue with your main task. Sometimes these options wont be working which is when you can use the System Configuration Tool Method, under which you need to click on Start > Run > msconfig.

Next you will get a new utility, under which you will find different Startup selections under the General Tab. Next under the BOOT.INI menu in the main tabs you will find different options out of which you need to select the /SAFEBOOT under boot options which would then perform the same action and would confirm you to restart your computer, which once done would start your computer in Safe Mode.

Blogger integrates with Amazon Associates

Earlier this year we simplified the process for monetizing your blog by adding a “Monetize” tab in the Blogger app. We started with AdSense, which allows you to add contextual advertising to your pages; more recently we added AdSense for Feeds to help you generate revenue from the distribution of your blog via RSS and Atom. Today we launched a third option: direct integration with Amazon Associates to search Amazon’s product catalog and add links to products that earn you commissions when your readers buy products you recommend.

With this feature, you can search Amazon directly from the Blogger editor and add pictures and links to Amazon products right into your posts. Your readers will earn you commissions whenever they buy the products you recommend, and if you don’t already have an Amazon Associates account, you can sign up for one for free without leaving Blogger.

If you’ve ever written a blog post about a book, recommended a gadget, or reviewed a toy you bought for your kids, you’ve likely gone through the process of drafting the post, opening up a separate window to go to find a site that sells the product, then going back to Blogger to paste the link to the product into the post editor.

Starting today, you can search the Amazon product catalog without leaving the Blogger interface and insert links to the products you find into your posts. Not only is the process of linking to products more efficient, but Amazon makes it easy for you to earn money whenever your readers actually buy the products you write about. This is known as an “affiliate program”, and it’s designed to let you recommend products you like to your audience — if they buy the product, you’ll earn a commission on that purchase. Now for the fun part: when you are writing a post on Blogger, you’ll see an Amazon gadget to the right of your post editor (the “Product Finder”). You can search the Amazon product catalog from within Blogger — type in the name of the product you are writing about, and insert a link to the product, an image of the product, or an iframe containing the image, price details and a “buy it now” button. Every link that’s created contains your unique Associates ID, ensuring that Amazon will credit you for any purchases that result from readers clicking the link on your blog.

If you’re an existing Amazon Associate, completing this setup simply makes the Product Finder available on Blogger for you — you continue to earn the same referral rate from Amazon. New Associates receive the same referral rate from Amazon that they would have received if they signed up directly. If you’re not interested in earning a referral, you can still install the Product Finder: from the “Amazon Associates” page under the Monetize tab, click “I'll do this later — show me more Amazon options” and then click “Add the Product Finder” button.

A quick note about trust: affiliate programs work well when readers trust you. Nokia unveils bicycle-powered phone charger

The Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, which can be attached to any bicycle, powers up from the pedaling motion of the bike's rider. A dynamo--the electricity generator--is powered by the front bicycle wheel as a rider pedals and transfers electricity to a charger attached to the handlebar, which a phone plugs into.

"To begin charging, a cyclist needs to travel around six kilometers per hour (four miles per hour), and while charging times will vary depending on battery model, a 10-minute journey at 10 kilometers per hour (six miles per hour) produces around 28 minutes of talk time or 37 hours of standby time. The faster you ride, the more battery life you generate," Nokia said in a statement.

The charger can be used to power any Nokia phone with a 2mm power jack, according to Nokia.

The kit comes with two small brackets, in addition to the charger and generator. One bracket attaches to the bicycle's handlebars to secure the charger and a cell phone holder. The other secures the small electric generator to the bike's fork.

The world's largest maker of cell phones said in a statement that its new product will provide "free and environmentally friendly electricity for mobile phones" and will likely be welcomed in areas of the world where bicycles are a transportation staple.

Priced at about $18, the charging kit is set to be available from Nokia online and Nokia phone retailers by year's end.

While its certainly newsworthy that Nokia is offering a bicycle charger, it follows others. In 2007, Motorola demonstrated abike-powered charger at the Consumer Electronics Show. In September, Dahon unveiled the $99 Biologic FreeChargefor charging small electronic gadgets by connecting to any existing dynamo hub on a bike.

Nokia's announcement came in conjunction with the release of the Nokia C2, a cell phone capable of holding and operating two SIM cards at once to allow for separate phone numbers to be used from one device simultaneously. The dual-SIM C2 allows the user to not only switch between SIM cards, but even swap one SIM card for another, while the phone is on and working.

Nokia N8: New Videos Demonstrating HD Video Recording, Messaging, Internet and Maps

Remember the Nokia N8? Yes, I am talking about Nokia’s next high-end handset that got trashed in an early review. One of the main drawbacks cited by the reviewer was that the Symbian^3 OS just didn’t cut it. Quite obviously, Nokia is keen to prove otherwise.

Nokia has recorded three videos demonstrating different aspects of the user interface (UI) including messaging, internet and maps. The first of the three is embedded below. The remaining videos will be released next week.

From the video, the browser looks strictly ok. The only thing worth noting is that it supports flash. The messaging aspect has definitely improved but Nokia is simply playing catch-up. Threaded SMS conversations, which has been present in iPhone, Palm and Android devices for a long time, finally makes it to Symbian. The saving grace is Ovi Maps, which is an excellent navigation app.

Some eye candy has been added to Symbian^3 including more widgets, some transition effects and a refreshed task manager. N8 will feature three home-screens, each of which will be capable of housing 6 widgets.

Undoubtedly there are several changes in Symbian^3. In fact, even from the quick first glance it appears to be a decent improvement over its predecessor. However, the problem is that it is still too similar to Symbian S60v5. Nokia N8’s operating system still feels pre-historic when compared with the likes ofiPhone, HTC Desire or Xperia X10.

However, there is one thing that the N8 does well – it’s snapping pictures and recording videos. N8’s 12 megapixel camera is probably the best to ever grace a mobile phone. Here’s a HD video recorded with N8 that was released last month. Remember that this is taken using a pre-production firmware, so there is still room for improvement.

Samsung Unveils Two Business–Class P80 And P30 Notebooks

Samsung has unveiled two new business-category notebooks namely P80 Premium and P30 Essential designed especially for meeting the requirements of business operations.

Both the models have features like integrated microphone, a webcam that supports video conferencing and has Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR connectivity.

The P80 Premium series include P480 and P580 notebooks and the series has 2.26 GHz Intel Core i5-430 processor, 0.3 megapixel webcam, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM and up to 320GB 5400RPM HDD.

Besides, the P80 series notebooks are supports Wi-Fi and has HD Audio, 1.5 W speakers.

The P480 model comes with 14-inch display while P580 has 15.6-inch display and both have four USB 2.0 ports.

Meanwhile, the P30 Essential series comes with 14 inch and 15 inch display and has scratch-resistant chassis. The notebook has 250 GB hard drive. It has three USB 2.0 ports and supports Wi-Fi, 1.5 MW speakers and 0.3 megapixel webcam.

"Samsung designed these product lines with the practicality and performance needs of the business user in mind. The options provided by the Premium, Essential and notebook lines cater for all professional environments," said Todd Bouman, a director of product marketing at Samsung Electronics.

Symantec will launch Norton software version for android based smartphone

Symantec is known mostly for its Norton anti virus software. Symantec has marked its new Norton internet security software for Android-based smart phones. President of Symantec's Consumer Business says where non-PC devices are blowing up in numbers, which means more opportunity for cyber criminals. It’s becoming more and more critical for consumers to be protected beyond their PCs. It is being expected that the software will provide a better, faster and safer online browsing experience.

Actually Norton Connect (currently named "Norton Tiki") has already being providing its services to iPhone and Android users, access to files backed up using Norton Online Backup.
