It's a clearly inevitable truth that we have loads of passwords. It likely started with a secret code number for our bank, but since that point, the growth of the internet has meant that every day brings a new network, and requires a new password.

Only this month I presume I've enrolled in around 12 new websites and networks. Have I chosen a different password for every one? No way. It's improbable to do something like that, in part because there's not a way I would ever remember them, but also since 'like all of us' I don't have a method to monitor varied passwords.

I maybe could write them down in a book somewhere, but what if I set it aside or couldn't get to it, or -and this is far more typical- wasn't at my computer and had to get a specific account password? It's like leaving all the house keys at your desk and never heading out anywhere with them: safe, yeah, but you'll lose your mind from the lack of convenience.

So, I presume I'm just like most people: I have around three passwords that I can reasonably bring up in my mind, and when I try and go to a site and it doesn't work, I reach through and think of the other passwords I have in my mind until one is accepted. But is this reasonable?

Well, think about this: do you actually trust every single service you sign up for? And even if you actually trust them, what's to block a compromised security system from happening at their HQ? It's taken place with big companies dozens of times - so it can truly happen to a small company. Relying on the same password across all your sites signifies that if a single one of your passwords is compromised, all of them might be.

Alright, I understand too much fear. Thankfully, there are excellent tools to deal with this exact problem. Instead of buying a notepad and creating a crazy password each time you register for a website, there are wonderful programs that function as a kind of password 'safe', where one main password gives you access to the entire system.

Any of these single password organizer pieces of software will make up random passwords for your logins too, giving you the chance to sleep easy with the knowledge that even if a pass is found on some lost site you registered for and quickly forgot, no one will ever be able to use that password for anything. The Mini 1000's footprint is nearly identical to that of the earlier HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, measuring slightly wider and thinner. It's also a little lighter, thanks to the switch from aluminum to plastic. Netbooks are designed with price and portability in mind, so they're usually not the fanciest designs to come out of a PC maker's lab. While an aluminum chassis is generally preferred to one made from plastic, the switch to plastic here makes sense because every penny and ounce counts. Overall, we appreciate the Mini 1000's efficient and attractive layout--there's hardly any dead space on the keyboard tray.
The biggest selling point for the Mini 1000 is its fantastic keyboard, which HP claims is 92 percent of the size of a full-size laptop keyboard. Other Netbooks have been plagued by tiny Chiclet-like keys, which make typing a pain and typos plentiful. By expanding the keyboard right to the edges of the system, HP was able to fit bigger keys into the tray than other Netbooks (and even ultraportable laptops). The result is a comfortable typing experience that beats even Dell's Inspiron Mini 9.
The 10.2-inch wide-screen LCD display offers a 1,024x600-pixel native resolution, which is standard for Netbooks. It's certainly readable, but most documents and Web pages will require some scrolling. The display is covered by the same edge-to-edge glass we saw in Apple's new MacBooks, which adds to the aesthetic, but is also a glare magnet.
The Mini 1000 has fewer ports and connections than many other Netbooks, but the two USB ports should be enough for most users. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9, in comparison, has three USB ports, plus separate headphone and mic jacks, while the HP has only a single switchable audio jack. We wouldn't mind so much, but HP felt the need to include a proprietary recessed USB jack for use with the company's HP Mini Mobile Drive--basically an elongated USB memory stick. We'd rather the chassis space and hardware costs go into another USB port, a video output, or even a separate mic jack.
Intel's single-core 1.6GHz Atom CPU offers enough computing power for the basic tasks for which Netbooks are designed--namely Web surfing, working on documents, and some basic multimedia playback. That combo of Intel's Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP (a Linux version of the Mini 1000 will be released in early 2009) is found in almost every current Netbook, so it's not surprising that we saw no real performance difference between the Mini 1000 and the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 or Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Any of these are fine for basic on-the-go computing, as long as you keep your expectations modest.

Backup solutions are the foundation of data protection, and the first line of defense in case of system failure or data loss of any kind. Backup solutions are the most basic

When dealing with gigabytes of data in files that might exist in tens, hundreds or even thousands of fragments, the

A common hindrance to backups, however, despite ever-advancing technologies,

Multiply that by all the data files in all an enterprise's computer systems-because a backup procedure must access all of those files-and it can be seen what a nighmarish problem file fragmentation can be

The best way to ensure that backups occur rapidly and within their allotted times is to employ a defrag solution that is always working, that allows for a drive to be consistently in a defragmented state. A product such as Diskeeper meets this qualification.

Once the file is restored from backup, there is more added time, however, as now the user must bring that file back up into the state it was in when deleted. Worse, if the file has been created since the last backup, it must now be re-created from scratch.

Above is the computer I built over the last couple weeks I got most everything at tiger direct except for the case and the XP pro operating system. I wanted to see how much money I would save compared to getting a gamer pc at the store. To my surprise not only did I save more than $500.00 dollars but I got a much better system. I wanted to use the DDR3 memory I got two 8800 GT video cards 520 MB DDR3. Most of the gamer computers come with only one card some don’t even have a operating system installed.
Below are a couple examples of the gamers I found on the internet most of them still are DDr2, and only have one video card. Some of the higher end ones have Intel i 7 and DDR3 but at the cost of $3000.00 and above. Because of the cost of the Intel i7 is about $1000.00 dollars. With the money I saved I’ll be able to get the 3D glasses and the monitor that is needed to run the

NVidia GeForce 3D Vision Kit and the Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ 22" 3D Gaming LCD Monitor - 120Hz, 1680x1050, DVI, VGA. The system I built will have no problem running them. Plus I can upgrade with a third video card and add extra memory with no problem.

This will bring my total cost to $1836.70. Awesome I can watch video in 3D on my new 22 inch monitor with my new high end gamer pc for under $2000.00 dollars.

For most individuals and businesses, data loss happens. Even the most established technology companies with expert experience in network and laptop security, accidents and hacks happen and data is lost. With the right support and preventative measures, however, losing information doesn’t always have to end in disaster. By making information safety a priority of your computer IT staff and for the employees who use your equipment, data loss can become a rare occurrence.

Preventing Data Loss

Most causes of work station (laptop or PC) data loss can be attributed to human error, physical malfunctions and hardware failure. The Boston Computing Network characterizes data loss into four different types: human error (overwriting a major file), file corruption (virus attack), hardware (fried hard drive), and site-related (earthquake causes coffee to spill on laptop).

For an IT staff member, preventing data loss within a company means making sure employees are:

- using equipment with up-to-date antivirus software
- securing their laptops both physically and electronically with computer locks and good passwords
- backing up their work onto a secure storage device
- using a surge protector and uninterrupted power supply (UPS)

Additionally, computer IT staffers need to have a best practices document in place that employees can follow related to how to handle incoming email, working outside of the office, and traveling. The document should describe how employees can avoid data loss through phishing scams, when and how they should use other wireless networks and how to protect company laptops from theft. By giving employees the information they need to prevent data loss, companies can stop many problems from every happening.

Recovering Lost Data

So much information flows electronically now that it is likely some data loss scenario will occur in a business. Whether it is a major server loss or a small problem on a single hard drive, there are certain things that should be done to avoid making the situation worse.

- Don't: Use the system restore or system recovery setting on the computer. This will not bring your info back instantly

- Don't: Implement an off-the –shelf system recovery software on your own. If you use the incorrect type of software, you are likely to ruin your chances of recovering any information.

- Do: Contact a computer it specialist or tech professional to attempt to restore the data safely and correctly

Many IT and computer services offer continued preventative maintenance and care, but in the case you don’t regularly use an outside IT service, contact one as soon as you realize a problem has occurred.

In addition to dealing with data recovery, IT and computer services provide a vast array of additional preventative measures for combating data loss. For instance, many IT service providers will offer security and back-up solutions like electronic data storage, information security, server support, desktop support, and networking.

Recovering lost data is not always possible but there are ways to reduce the chances of complete loss.

Computers today are used in a way people commonly are doing work on it. There is more to computer typing there’s programming, troubleshooting, communications, and many of more uses from them people and I go through. People and myself has me know that there is more to computers then just typing more of it comes where in how other specific devices are used to convert data. Troubleshooting things such as viruses, networking, data loss, putting computer together, etc. has taught me more in depth about computers today. Having to do all of this has shown me that computers are a source of reflection of how it used and done with.

Communications and new software development has made people has there life’s saved is now another things used for computers to talk and send mail/messages. It a new trend for people to have computers and to use them in communicating in a whole new way. So computers are used now are changed today with new things you would like.

Throughout now in computers were hard to describe in-depth in the programming as it was made in what people and myself thought. People use computers in a concept of doing work on it and nothing else that so interesting. It wasn’t an interesting thing back then when it was made. Everybody ignored it as a useless product that never existed in the world. When I used it was hard to use and understanding more in detail the entire major concept of how the programming was. People like myself had a hard time figuring out uses for it. It was like a machine in a hard way to describe in of all the technology/electronics they had made to a computer. Programming it in what to do on it was like typing, printing, and playing was the major thing that was done. It was nothing but just playing and doing working on a computer, which was made to do. Having it programmed for these kinds of uses are having people do these common things. When computers are describes as programming in special uses as work, printing, and playing has the first new beginning of computers.

Now troubleshooting is the next thing that occurs around computers such as viruses and other errors for different reasons. People today are having these encounters to these problems and have been evolving around them. They are a big problem because it destroys all data and makes the computer not load up. It’s like a disease spreading to all around the computers and has never stopped. Another problem is that a person and myself hate to loss data to the program you’re working on for any type of project/work you’re on. It’s a major hassle to loss a big thing on a computer that you save and worked hard on. This is something people go through everyday to have these errors occur overtime. Having to delete important files from your computer to work has made them lose their work and the computer it self. This is why people have trouble thinking that it gets them frustrated. It the common problem everyone goes through everyday in using one. So computers back than were a big hassle to the people who bought them and encountered so many problems.

Today now computers have made a communications and software cure for troubleshooting in the major problem people have in the computer system. In the communications they have a Chat line/E-mail to send about anything between you and your friend through a network computer. This is something people enjoy doing to communicate with anybody they know. It’s a lifesaver now to send anything across a computer network in the world. The next thing is that software that can destroy viruses in detecting and protecting your computer has made a cure for it. People whom have troubleshooting in their computers now have software on the market see it’s a big help. It’s a new generation people now are safe with any software program that can be protected. The different between the reflections of the computers had shown many of what people encounter in their everyday life. Everything from the past has now made a lot of big changes. Now people are starting to get computer in a whole new different way for them to use it. Now new things added to the computer systems today has better communications and new software that helps people not to lose anything.

People from the past had problems with computers in knowing what it is. They would just use it as typing out work and other things. With this ever changing world of computers, more and more old computers are being thrown out, rightfully so. The old computers just can't keep up with today's software, that has been designed for the fastest and latest CPUs, and the most powerful video cards. But what about all that data? Your credit card details, client lists, personal emails? Although chances are if their found at a landfill, they won't be used for malicious purposes, the ease of accessing that data is almost too simple.

Along side that, thousands of old motherboards, video cards, RAM sticks, get thrown out and end up with landfill every year. And even though I'm sounding like a new ageist, the incorrect dumping of computer parts can lead to all sorts of environmental issues, with the plastic used in circuit boards not easily broken down naturally. Monitors in particular have high lead content, which , while encased in the monitor isn't exceptionally dangerous, but when exposed in a situation such as landfill, can pose a danger to nearby waterways and the surrounding environment.

Enter computer recycling. Computer recycling comes in two forms. Destruction and reusing. The destruction of computers parts is done in a contained environment and the plastic is then broken down in a controlled condition. Yes, this means they get big machines to effectively crush and turn what was once your computer, into many thousands of little tiny bits of plastic and metal. They then get this computer mulch, melt it, stretch it, burn it and turn it into different forms. Most of the major computer giants, such as HP and Apple, have recycling centres for the safe destruction of old PCs, however, some are a paid service.

CRT monitors are particularly favorable for destruction with each monitor potentially having up to 3.6kg of lead contained within. The processes are relativity simple, after the recyclable plastic case, metal chassis, yoke, PC board, wire and metal strap are all tediously removed from the monitor. The lead- impregnated tubing is all that's left before it's crushing demise. Even the circuit boards are crushed and recycled, with almost all of the materials being extracted. The extraction process involves various degrees of smelting resulting in lead, tin, gold, and palladium commodities for re-sale, and re-use. The whole process results in almost a 100% diversion rate, leaving only a small percentage that ends up in landfill, and of course, all that potentially dangerous lead is kept away from water supplies.

Re-using PCs is a very viable option. Some PCs get re-used for scientific use (correctly networked together to create a supercomputer) or given to those that can use older technology such as libraries or education centres. Just make sure you delete all the data off the hard drive or, if you know how to pull apart a computer, destroy the hard drive. The thought of handing over your data to a computer tech could be less comforting then throwing it in the trash, even though to comply with privacy legislation, employees have to wipe all data before re-using any computers.

If your going to be pulling the computer apart yourself, be sure to be gentle with your computer parts, always use static free bags, and always discharge yourself of static electricity before handling (touching something large and steel will do the trick).
