MIX & MATCH : a guide to pair up cosmetics with clothes

As promised ,I am back with another post for you all

IMO this post will be quite useful for you all; especially for those ladies who don't prefer too much of makeup and at the same time, dislike going out of home bareface

This whole post was basically requested by Ms. Preety Agarwal (HOD in my office)

She actually gave me pictures of her salwar suits(as picture given below) and asked for my opinion regarding how to pair up eyeshadow lipstick and nailpolish with the respective salwar suits.

Me being a beauty blogger felt so good and excited in writing this post, because I know this will not only help her but also help my readers as well.

She didn't want the makeup to be OTT but simple and wearable yet suitable for parties

Salwar suits

So here comes my suggestions and advice

Firstly do not ever forget to cleanse, tone and moisturize your face.If you dont follow this procedure, your base makeup wont be strong and soon your face will have uneven patches of your foundation.

CTM.i.e cleansing toning moisturizing is highly recommended before starting any makeup

Next, apply a good foundation.If you are not much into makeup then it is preferable to apply a sheer coverage foundation and a concealer that gives good coverage.Both can balance out your base makeup provided if blended properly; Followed by a compact .

Faces sheer radiance foundation with Garnier anti dark circle tinted eye rollon

Then comes the eyemakeup.Since Preetiji is not much into makeup so I would suggest her not to experiment too much with the eyemakeup.Just dab a good amount of eyeshadow on the lids with a sponge applicator and spread it out with the wand of the applicator. Instead of using bold colors, try to go with pastel shades, matte shades, frosty shades (provided if it complements your skin tone).For eg: You can select any earthy brown or golden or auburn or beige or almond shade eyeshadows from the palettes given down below.

But the brand doesn't have to be same.Any color that resembles these earthy shades can be used .

Eyeshadows: Nyx palette in champagne & Caviar, Revlon Custom eyes in"naturally Glamorous", Nyx single eyeshadow in "copper", Maybelline Color Tattoo in "bad to bronze" and lastly an Inexpensive palette

Then comes Nailpolish.I guess i don't need to give any suggestion regarding it.I just randomly chose these colors (picture below) which can be paired up with the clothes.In this pic the extreme left 2 are chosen for salwar suit no. 1, the middle two are for salwar suit 2 and lastly the extreme right 2 colors are for suit no.3

(L-R) Revlon Scented nailpolish in passion fruit, Lakme Color Crush nailpolish in shade 11, avon simply prety nailpolish in Pink Fantasy & Pale Lavender, Lakme true wear nailcolor is classics shade9 and lastly Avon Nailwear pro nailcolor in Ruby Slipper

And finally my favourite part, Lipsticks.Dab these colors lightly on your lips.if you prefer light lips

(L-R) Chambor lipstick in Rose Fresque, Lotus Herbals lipstick in Pink Blush, MAybelline super stay 14hr lipstick in keep me coral and Lakme lipstick in shade 131

So this is all about mix n match.

Eyemakeup : when you can't decide what makeup to do !

Hey lovelies

So weekend is here..yahoo...This is the time when I get to breathe a bit, (rather sleep and snore a bit ,rofl)

But as promised, I will be regular in blogging..Yes I am promising myself and pinching at the same time to make myself believe that i have finally resumed this task :D

I was confused few days back regarding what eyemakeup to do

Yes, I should not boast about it but I have so many eyeshadow palettes that many times it becomes a tough job for me to select the perfect shade for me..

But trust me, the makeup which I did finally made me less confused.infact I got compliments for this makeup.

Hence if you feel that you cant decide then quickly check out this tutorial (hahaha self promotion at it's best :P :P )

Step 1:Primed my lips with Garnier roll on concealer

Step 2:Applied a satin silver eyeshadow from my cameleon 12 color eyeshadow palette

Step 3:Applied matte black e/s from Coastal Scents warm palette, on my crease & outer V with crease brush

Step 4:Blended the black e/s with a fluffy crease brush

Step 5:Applied an aqua blue e/s from the cameleon palette layering it on top of the black e/s to add a mysterious effect to my eyes

Step 6:Blended the blue e/s again with a fluffy brush

Step 7:Applied a black liquid liner close to upper lashline

Step 8:Applied waterproof black mascara

Step 9:Finished the Look by applying kohl liner on the waterline

Yes I am BACK !!

Hey my lovelies

I am back...wohooo

I feel like I took re-birth :P

So yes, I was kinda extinct for a while from this Beauty Blogging world. Life has been a bit hectic as well as exciting these few months :)

But I always tried to keep a track of "whats in"- "whats out" & for all those updates, credit goes to my fellow blogger friends ..I love you all <3 p="">

Also I am kinda making a schedule for posting interesting articles.To be honest I hate reviews so i focus more on tutorials, current favourites, hauls,DIY etc.

Hence I have decided I will be posting makeup looks every weekend :)

I wore Avon simply Pretty Lipstick in coral pink.Here comes some of its pictures ~~~

Lord's Arnica Shampoo ~ A shampoo that saved my hair !

Hey everyone

This is a much requested post.Everyone wants to get the perfect shampoo which can make the hair look

healthy , natural and should also be less harmful to the hair

The name ARNICA is very much familiar to us.Yes thats right, it's a homeopathy medicine which you get in almost every first aid box.

Now this arnica shampoo is basically a homeopathy shampoo which is a miraculous product because it literally suits every kind of hair ( It did suit my mom's oily hair and at the same time my dry hair)

I have a very frizzy hair with an itchy scalp.My hair is even dry so it becomes really unmanagable to keep my hair open.

So few days back i went to the homeopathy doctor for regular check up and there they suggested this shampoo which i can use almost everyday because it is a very good cleanser.

It is a detergent based shampoo.priced at Rs.195 for 500ml and shelf life is ~ 5 years from the date of manufacture. It has a flip cap which is tight enough, hence you dont have to worry about leakage.

If you have excessive dry hair ike mine, you can also follow it by using your favourite conditioner.(I use my loreal hair conditioner)

The consistency is on the runny side and the shampoo is light green in
color

Moreover, the smell of it lingers for quite sometime and as it says, it thoroughly cleanses my hair as well as scalp.

But the main drawback that I find is it's availability. You can only get this is homeopathy stores/ chemists who keep homeopathy medicines.

And also I hate the packaging.It reminds me of those herby shampoo bottles :-P

But other than these , I love it like anything

My first western OOTD

Hey everyone

I am so excited to show you all my first Western OOTD.

Previously I did an OOTD post wearing a saree

In this post, I am basically wearing an LBD which rather looks like a formal LBD to me

The dress was recently gifted by my dad =D which I am in love with. I love these kind of dresses which have pockets. Plus, it has "collars" which adds smartness :)

The material of the dress is quite comfortable..It is basically a stretchable cotton material.

I teamed it up with a broad red belt having some studded metals in front of it to give it Roadie kinda look :P

I also wore a floral mesh tight stockings with it to add some femininity to the whole look

and lastly wore a basic black peep toe shoes with it..

So here's what it looks like ~~~

EOTD- Clubbing nights

Hey everyone

Here's the 2nd look using the inexpensive eyeshadow palette which i named Clubbing Nights

I used

1. a gunmetal shade on the middle part of the lid

2.a purple-ish deep blue on the crease, inner lid and outer lid; basically i surrounded the gunmetal shade with the blue and blended well ofcourse

3. on the brow bone I applied a shimmery white eyeshadow

4.then blended the same blue eyeshadow on the lowerlashline to give the smokey effect

5.lastly, finished the look by lining my upper lashline with black iquid liner, kajal on the waterline and black mascara on the lashes

this is how it looks like ~~~

EOTD~~ breaking the myth !

No I did not name the following eyemakeup as breaking the myth!

Have you all not tried inexpensive eyeshadow palette ever? I was a dancer since my school days and these inexpensive eyeshadow palettes did wonders. They gave the perfect pigmentation that could even stand out on stage.

I do love branded things but the collage of attractive colors in the inexpensive palette makes me go crazy =)

I mean, I generally dont put much makeup on daily basis other than compact kajal and a lipbalm.But occassionally there's no harm using these palettes. And every now and then it's not possible for every one to purchase highend brands.

So here is a look that I came up with using one of my INEXPENSIVE palette.

Inexpensive Eyeshadow palettes

Hey everyone

Today I want to share with you all some palettes that I recently purchased

These are all inexpensive palettes. The shopkeeper said that these are generally korean brands.

The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented.I chose the shimmery ones for myself because I actually use these for wedding parties or occassions.They make the eyes look more brighter sparkly and shimmery.

So here is a picture of my palettes >>>

qianyu cosmetics

These are from a brand named Qianyu cosmetics. You can get these in any cosmetic shop.Brands may differ but you can get same kind of palettes too.

These are inexpensive ,which is the best part.The price of the palettes (in clockwise order) are as follows ~~

Top right palette ~ Rs650

Bottom right palette ~Rs850

Bottom left palette ~ Rs510

Top left palette ~ 560

They come with applicators which are comparatively better than many applicators that come with branded eyeshadow duos or quads !

Moreover you can also notice that the cover is transparent in those particular areas where the eyeshadows are placed in the palette. Hence the eyeshadows are visible from outside without even opening the cover !

So overall I am happy with these palettes and planning to make some EOTDs with these palette ;)

Last but not least, I also got this cute nail art stamping stickers.I never tried these, so I am quite excited.They are all tiny mini butterflies in different colors ...Just loving it ! =)

Everyday makeup : Reverse smokey eyes (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Hey everyone

I am back after quite a long time, I know

It was so hot last few days and I was also busy for sometime.

Now that I am free, I am completing my pending tasks :-/

Okay so I got a request to do an everyday makeup tutorial by one of my beautiful facebook friend Sakshi

She requested me for a look which she could carry off well everyday ,yet it should stand out among everyone

She wanted neither too bright nor too dull look.So I came up with this sexy reverse smokey eye look

Though in pictures its not as prominent as I expected it to be but in reality, trust me it really looks amazing

I used the color workshop primer here so that the eyeshadows stand out well;

used lakme silk route eyeshadow quad, vov single matte black eyeshadow in this look;

lotus black waterproof mascara,avon mineral powder, mac blush,avon almond & milk lipbalm,

colorbar lipstick in creme cup and avon everlasting kajal.

In this post I am going to talk about the products that i adore the most

These are the products that are to die for

Whenever I am low or not feel like doing anything, these instantaneously makes me feel alive :)

So let me show you all what are the products >>>

LAKME enrich satin lipstick in shade 135(which is a perfect pink which brightens up face a lot
REVLON colorburst lipgloss in HOT PINK, which makes me look fairer =D...
After all Pinks are essential in a woman's vanity, isn't it? ahemm :D

ORIFLAME full moon body cream~smells divine.I recommend you all to get
it asap.It's very light in texture & gives a soothing effect and also looks
like whipped cream to me :D

Maybelline white uv stay compact, maybelline colossal volume
mascara and Avon lipbalm~ are more like my necessities !

And last but not least, Colorbar velvet matte lipstick in shade "hot hot hot" makes me feel hot :-P
Its that kind of a lipstick for which you really dont need to worry about your eyemakeup.Just some foundation, compact,kohl liner & the lipstick can make you look the best in the crowd ;)

Eyemakeup for Prom : Tutorial + EOTD

Hey everyone

Today I am going to do an eyemakeup tutorial for Prom

I know I was supposed to do a video tutorial but sadly not getting much time =(

I will shoot makeup videos from June, Promise :)

But for now enjoy this look ladies ;)

I chose turquoise purple and black eyeshadow to create this
vibrant and sexy look which is perfect for PARTY/PROM

Let's get started with the quick tutorial ~~

Step 1: prime your eyes and also dust some loose

powder on the under eye area so that you can easily

remove the fallouts

Step2: apply purple eyeshadow on the middle portion

of the lid but dont cross the creaseline)

Step3: apply a frosty turquoise eyeshadow on the inner

area of the eyelid till the tearduct

Step 4: next apply a black eyeshadow(preferably matte

eyeshadow) on the outer V area and crease.

Step 5: blend out the harsh edges of black eyeshadow

with a matte light brown eyeshadow to give a smokey

effect to the whole look. Then dust away the loose

powder applied before on the under eye area

Step 6: finally finish off the look applying a black liquid

liner close to upper lashline, kajal on the waterline &

Black mascara on the lashes

CLEAN & CLEAR skin balancing moisturizer : REVIEW

Hey everyone

Today I'm going to do a review on Clean&Clear skin balancing moisturizer by Johnson&Johnson Ltd, which was requested by one of the reader of my blog ~ Priya :)

To begin with, this is my favourite moisturizer till date because it is neither too oily nor too dry for my skin.

You must have noticed that during summers, after you wash your face with a facewash, your face feels a bit dry

In that case, this moisturizer is the best solution !

Yes, it not only moisturizes the skin, it also gives a mattifying effect and seals the moisture of the skin.

It is a perfect base,i.e, if you have dry or combination skin, apply this before you apply a foundation. You will notice that your foundation will glide on like a dream.Moreover,since it is an oil free lotion, oily skinned people can use this for all the seasons :)

But yes, it may not sufficiently hydrate dry skin during winters

And to add to that, it claims to prevent blemishes, but till now I didn't notice any changes on my skin.But yes, it never broke me out (which is the best thing about it)

But I am seriously quite impressed with the packaging.

It has got a sturdy packaging with a tight cap.So even when the container is tilted, the product won't leak at all. The hole from where the product comes out is also comparatively small, hence there won't be product wastage.

The lotion is opaque white in color but doesn't give any whitish cast after applying it all over face.

The consistency is also perfect.Its neither too runny nor too thick and instantly blends and absorbs well into the skin, hence You will not get any sticky tacky feeling.

The smell is very mild and doesn't bother much

These are priced at Rs 80 for net quantity 100ml.Shelf life~ 3years.

I got mine from healthkart. But these are available everywhere , even in the chemist shops :)

Take a close look at the ingredients ~~

So overall it's a good product that helps in hydrating skin instantly.You may carry this in your bag, incase when you feel that your skin feels a bit dry, it can bring back the moisture to those dry areas

But yes, it will not sufficiently fulfill your needs during winters.And also the biggest CON is it doesn't contain SPF =(

So, you all can decide well, whether this product is worth spending or not.I hope you all liked the review.

AVON everlasting kajal : review + swatch + pictures

Hello everyone

So today I am going to do a review on Avon Everlasting Kajal in Black

It is really a 2in1 product.Ask me why? ~~it is because an eye smudger has also been provided with it which is of high quality; and doesnt break even after several applications.

It is a basic black kohl liner pencil with decent pigmentation which can be used on upper/lowerlashline as well as on the waterline.And also it has a good staying power of 5 to 6 hours.

To add to that, the smudger comes with a cap, hence it is hygienic. It helps to smudge the liner precisely without tugging or pulling

It claims to be a smudgeproof liner , which is 100% true! So you don't have to worry about getting any racoon eyes. Moreover you dont even have to worry about any touch-ups.

But it is not as smooth as my favourite kohl liner from Anabelle .But still I am happy with the price of this Avon everlasting kajal atleast. It costs Rs.229 and I got in offer for Rs.159 =)

It has a shelf life of 3years and it's Net quantity is 1.14g

My tip~~ You can use it as 1)simply as a liner or 2)smudge the liner softly with the smudger to get a soft smokey look or 3)you can even apply the liner on whole of your lid(upto crease) and smudge it with the smudger & set that with a black matte eyeshadow and blend out the harsh edges of it by applying a medium brown matte eyeshadow on the crease

So overall I am in love with this product and highly recommend you all to get this as soon as possible

DEBORAH MILANO ombretto mono hi-tech eyeshadow #51 :Review + Pictures

Hey everyone

Today I am going to do a review on Deborah Milano ombretto mono hi-tech eyeshadow in shade# 51

It is a super iridescent beautiful silver-lilac shade which can be applied as dry & wet both

The packaging is superb !You can carry this anywhere and everywhere.

To add to that they have also provided a mini eyeshadow sponge applicator which fits the shape and size of the container, i.e, the stick part where we need to hold is also round in shape ! looks very cute indeed !

These eyeshadows are decently priced at Rs.295 and in online shopping sites you get these for Rs.250 !

It doesn't have much fallout, but the pan gets messy sometimes. The micro shimmers that are present in the eyeshadow(though not gritty) falls on the black case/border of the pan.

It has a shelf life of 3 years but no ingredient list is mentioned

One good thing about it is that the cover is transparent , hence you can easily select the colors without even opening the cap, but yes, there is no inbuilt mirror with it !

Overall it is a perfect eyeshadow for dailywear .Since the color is lilac, it will suit all skin tones.It can be used as a highlighter .

My tip ~ use it as a monolid color without adding any other shades.In this way your eyes will get a silvery lilac sheen and also add loads of mascara which altogether will make your eyes look bigger, because these kind of shades(viz, beige/champagne/peachy gold etc eyeshadows) helps to make the eyes look bigger and better ;)

Skincare update !

Hey everyone

Hope you all are doing fine

I am a bit busy with my studies.Moreover I am not well for last few days :(

My left hand from shoulder till the elbow is causing me problem; dont know why its paining .It's hurting so much that I cant sleep well..I feel like my hand is fastened to something :/

Anyways, that's not a big deal though because my love for makeup, blogging and making videos is much ahead than these petty health issues (Yah I am a freak rofl :D )

In this post I am just going to share what are the skincare products that I am currently using :)

List of the products ~~

Nivea extra whitening cell repair & protect body cream

Clean & clear skin balancing moisturizer (oil free)

Hiphop face scrub in Kiwi (worked for me..yayy)

Ayur deep pore cleansing milk

Ponds pure white deep cleansing facial foam (It's my favourites facewash now, makes my skin fully clean and oil free; hence perfect for summers)

Neutrogena deep clean facial cleanser face wash

Fab India vitamin-e de-pigmentation cream (helped to remove all dark spots from my face, I will rate it 5 on 5. I am super happy with it )

Nivea lipbalm in Soft rose (reviewed here) ,Olive & lemon and pomegranate

Fab India lip butter in fruity vanilla

The Body Shop born lippy Plum lip balm (reviewed here)

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipgloss in "WINE ALL MINE" : REVIEW

Hello everyone

So today I will be reviewing on Maybelline Colorsensational Lipgloss in shade "Wine All Mine"

It is priced at Rs.260 for 6.8ml ; it's shelf life is for 3years

It is purely a wine color having several golden sliver and red micro shimmers in it & is nicely pigmented

Though it has shimmers but it doesnt give any gritty feel & doesn't set into the fine lines

It has a normal staying power,i.e, it stays for 2 without touchups(though it slowly starts fading after 1 hour) & also keeps the lip hydrated

Packaging is also neat & clean.Since the cover is transparent you can see the color from outside without opening the cap

It goes well for pigmented lips too and is suitable for all complexion

Hello everyone

This is going to be a tiny mini yet informative post

If you are searching for cheap but good quality lipsticks, then this is what you need~ELLE18 color pops !

They have got cute packaging with fun ,frolic, funky colors to choose from

these lipsticks are a must have for college goers especially because these are priced at Rs.100 each

Moreover they decently moisturize the lips as they contain cocoa butter plus has beautiful smell :)

So here are the 2 shades I picked up. One is "HOT PINK" which is a perfect fuchsia pink(no shimmer)

And the other one is "ROSY BLUSH" which is also a perfect coral shade(again,with no shimmer)
