Hello,

Its me after long long time, if I am not mistaken. So like usual I started off great but reached a block soon after. The class didn't start off and it has been 5 months since my last post, and I would like to report that even though there seems to be some improvement here and there. Overall I am the same old self, a person who's major obstruction or block is oneself. Laziness is it a disease is there no cure to my problem.....

Well I told you in my previous post that I am rebooting, so what have I done so far.

Well I have been taking up reading and trying to get myself out of the house more. My aim with rebooting is getting back on track with my life, but sadly life doesn't have an easy reboot button, its not something simple.

For one thing I am finding it hard to stay at one place and do stuff. I am can stay at one place and do nothing, think its hard, well somehow I manage to be able to sit at one place and do absolutely nothing. I want to develop a kinda workaholic and at the same time fun attitude. The goals I have taken up for my life is not something small. As they say when I work I just want to work and do nothing else.

Any way my first step was to Join the State Central Library, Trivandrum I did that did a few enquiries regarding RHCE course and tuition. Have a lot of back papers and in time its only going to increase. I need to change, I still believe that When I become the master of my self I can become the master of the world (and all my problems will be solved). My aim with a reboot is this.

Have to start learning programming from the beginning, am reading old school books these days as well....

Lets see if I can successfully reboot my life, will post updates.

I heard reviews about this book from lot of sources like news papers, friends, TV, etc. Many told me that its a must read. After a long time I finally got myself to read this book and let me tell you something my review is don't read it, to me it just felt like any typical Indian masala film, nothing special just another Indian love story. Of course I can't call myself a good or dedicated reader so to an experienced reader he might find something different but for me its nothing but a good book to kill some time if you have absolutely nothing else to do..

Back to Basics - total reboot

BASICS thats a six letter word that one may have heard almost a dozen times. Let me tell you one thing, those 6 letter are the one that will define anything and everything. Learning the BASICS is the foundation of mastering any art, fighting style, trade, craft skill that man has developed under the sun. No matter which path you choose in life you can't master that path with out basics. As I am progressing more and more with my life it came to my attention that my BASICS are screwed.

Why I came to this decision? Well example the programming languages. I have been learning different programing languages for the last eight years, during which I have learned C, C++, PHP, Python, Ruby, VB, SQL and software development frame works like QT, GTK+, Django, Drupal, Code Ignited, etc. I have completed several projects on them for college and as hobby projects. But to be truthful I would never say that I am even an intermediate level user in them. I even sometimes find myself googling few of the basic syntax of a language.

So is the case with various things in my life lack the basics like my communication, spelling, writings, etc. The reason being my own mistake of not concentrating on my BASICS but going after bigger stuff. One of the good quote that I like that defines an engineer is One who know something of everything, and everything of something ( don't know who's words this is), in my case i know something of everything and everything about nothing. So I am going to follow another great quote from start wars " You must first unlearn what you have learned ".

Gona reboot my head this summer holidays, got a general idea. First is to join the public library, then start reading books, relearn on the basics of computers and programming keeping with 2 languages for now ( C and PHP), meet up with old friends from school, do maybe a certification course, join the gym, go for a morning jog in the park - well these might seems as your daily routine and simple, but for a person who haven't done any of these things in ones life its going to be hell. Hopefully I am going to stick with my plan to get serious in life and get through this summer holidays which I would like to put up as My LIFE CHANGING BOOT CAMP.

I am hoping to make this reboot the only on I would ever need in my life and well we will see if this post is going to be just a reason from me to stay up all night, or am I going to do something with my life.

Where did my today go

Waking up after a good nap I asked my self the question Where did my today Go?. The question millions have asked before me and millions will ask after me. Went to bed yesterday by midnight, early by my usual standards. Woke up at 11:30 am, OMG slept in - so got out of bed, went for a bath and went to eat. Came back by 1 Pm. Ready to get my days works started had to do some studies for exams, spend some time on research for an article and finish a few I have kept in draft. Before starting on my days activity felt a little drowsiness, one that you feel after having a good lunch. Decided to lie my head down for a couple of minutes.............

Woke up 10 minuted ago, to be exact 6:40 Pm.

Now back to my original question Where did my Today go?

For the past couple of days I have been thinking of a good blog post, was able to think of few ( technical of course ) and have been doing some research on those topics. At first my research was limited to Wikipedia, then I started to use the majestic power of Google. It took me on a journey that made me realize that in the universe called WWW content is king. Original and Unique thats the key to the prize.

These days you will find websites and e-books on any topic, even on how to run away or how to kill oneself ( now please don't be stupid enough to try any of those - you only get one chance with life, and there is no reset). So in this huge universe of variety of topic you need a strong weapon to make you stand out and that my friend is the uniqueness and originality of content.

People say, the more content you have more the traffic so better as much content as you can, even if its copy paste. Naturally one would easily come to that conclusion since people visit a site for information then lets provide them with that.

But my good friend I would suggest you to re consider that idea of just copy pasting, having a site with information that one may access from any other website in future will make your blog/site nothing more than a pit stop. He/She has no need to visit you in future, why even Google will point to some other website with higher page ranking than yours. So to make your site stand out in the crowd you need your content to be unique and original. Why even the boss man, Google too prefer unique contents. Google goes on and on indexing websites and blogs each and every day. If it comes across a unique content it would be given higher preference over the other and a higher position.

So my advice to all the new bloggers and webmasters out there, like myself, try to work on something unique that will help you stand out of the crowd thats what will bring to you and your website the ultimate success. So get your thinking caps on and start finding that spice niche (a distinct segment of a market - Dictionary )

Please do not change the date of examination

What I am about to say might be contradicting others views regarding exams, from my personal experience I learned postponing an examination will not guarantee better luck. Like others I have also prayed to all the known gods that exist to postpones the next day's exam because I was not prepared for it. Though most time the chances are slim, there have been 3 occasions when they heard my prayers. Once during my school days and twice so far in my engineering course.

All the three times for some reason i had the same experience. I became carefree of the exam on the new scheduled date, somehow the change in exam date makes me tension free leading me to flunk my exams. :(

So to the gods I got one request, PLEASE DON'T EVER CHANGE THE DATE OF EXAMINATION

Guys i was bored today, literally bored so i decided to learn facebook application development. To my amazement it is easy at the same time confusing. It will take some time to get the feel of it, but i am confident. The application I am trying to develop now, is one that would fetch you birth date from your profile and print the Oscar winner for the best movie for that year. WTF!! that might be whats in your mind now, what a useless application. Well you are probably right, I agree with you. Its a useless application but a good theme to start working on, it would help me understand a lot of features that I wish to use in my later application development.

Have you felt like doing something else when there is something absolutely more important that you should be doing.

Well I am feeling such a thing now. Don't know why, I got my semester final exams tomorrow but I do not feel like studying. So like any college student I should be concentrating on tomorrows exam, instead I am thinking of a couple of crazy projects to do. Don't know if the reason is my lack of interest in the degree or is it just acceptance of defeat knowing that your are going to fail so why even bother to try.

Don't know the reason ;), but i am here wasting the time... :D

Its been a little hectic in my life... :(.... I have a lot of project at hand and i seems to have developed a habit of saying to any big project with dead line around the corner "ya, we can do that and we can get it done :)". Vim Syntax ON

If you guys are using the vim editor in ubuntu like I do then you guys would have also noticed that - it would be great if there was syntax highlighting, for those who don't know this there is Syntax highlighting and many more features in VIM. To get this feature first you must download the full package of vim so go to your terminal and write the command

apt-get install vim-full

Once this package in loaded you can turn on the syntax in your vim by using this command " :syntax enable ". Now your programming experience would become much more hazel free.

If you hate writing that command every time you enter vim , then there is even a solution for that as well.

go to your terminal and write the commands

vim /etc/vim/vimrc

There you will find some line saying :

" Vim5 and later versions support syntax highlighting. Uncommenting the next
" line enables syntax highlighting by default.
"syntax on

There just remove the doube quote( " ) in the last line("syntax on) and the syntax will be on by default now onwards in your VIM.

TPB has fallen

As most of you have heard from many source TPB has fallen. They have sold their site to a company called "Global Gaming Factory X". I am not sure how it is going to affect the site, as most people love, admire and support the TPB because of their strong attitude towards the anti-copyright cause and not even once moving from their course of action. No matter how many legal threats or DDOS attacks they got. The TPB fan base made all the difference and made them top in among the torrent site and even a position in top 100 Alexa rank.

How this "Global Gaming Factory X" is going to affect the TPB is not sure and many question are going to come to people mind. Few of my questions are

1. Are they going to filter the content of there site?

2. Will they share the user information with Anti piracy organizations?

3. Will they still be reliable as they used to be?

I dont know the answer but in the coming days we will know everything.

Also please note that the acquiring is not yet complete and so there is a chance that it will all go back to the way it used to :)... as i do not wish to see TPB as indexer.. i would rather see it as a state of the art private tracker.. :)

Cyber Law

Its been a while, actually over an year , since i been wanting to learn a little bit of the law in regarding to computer and the Internet. As you guys know with out any doubt, any one who has been around the Internet would have noticed all the copyright and disclaimer statements in the bottom of the web site and the long TOS when you join some websites like gmail, yahoo, face book, etc. These things have always been a topic of interest for me. More than an interest they made me curious as well. Why do all these site have them, why don't they let us join with out pointing to us the legal disclaimer and stuff like that.

More than website, the topics about of piracy and file sharing contain a lot of law statements. Stuff that made file sharing legal in some and illegal in other country. People getting sued and punished for sharing music and songs in US were as a person who have downloaded of 2000 movies and countless music in Spain found not guilty by the law as it is legal there. Also the non commercial distribution of even copyrighted materials are legal in Canada. NOW WHATS UP WITH THAT.

So due to these said reason i been thinking about learning cyber law. Sadly i haven been able to make these thoughts of mine into action yet due to some reason like - no time, where to start, can i get a degree in it. Sadly the Engineering degree that i am doing doesn't teach me anything related to the various type of laws and stuff of the software and there are no option for it either.

Basic level course in Indian cyber law. Conducted jointly with Govt. Law College, Mumbai. Its a degree only based on the cyber laws in India but doesn't covers more of international issues but its a start and it also teaches of law about cyber theft, and the incident i reported in my past post, that is also one of the reason why i am taking it more seriously. So i will be joining this program soon and more over to help you guys out there i will be posting links to various resources on cyber laws in my future blog post.

i got scammed and my account hacked

Just as the title suggest i got scammed yesterday :(. I have been posting in a froum forums.digitalpoint.com its a nice forum and got tones of active member and got lot of stuff on earning, but not all the people there are nice i was scammed yesterday.

I was told i would get $3 if i make 10 post in this forum the original thread is here. I did what he had told, so did others and send him the PM. but that is when i got the shock

No, I did not. This same loser has hacked my account - if you read back in the forum, he's done it to other members, as well. I have reported the situation to a moderator and I'm pursuing it with activeboards to get this scammer shut down.

I can't believe I've worked on building a reputation here just to have some loser ruin it on me in one stinking day.

I'm sorry you've been scammed along with anyone else who did this but I'm doing what I can to have him shut down and exposed.

well the mistake was mine actually, the hacker found my password rather easy way. Since he was the admin of the website he changed my email i used there to his own/ or a temp one he made( juliusolivetti@googlemail.com - the no 1 bastard in the world) and requested a forgot password... ( i found that when i re loged in to the site and checked my profile )

now the funny rather innocent at the same time stupid thing the password i used in that forum and digital point were the same so, what can i say i was the one in a thousand idiot.........

i have reported this to the webmaster at digital point hope he lets me make a new account as i think he actually deleted mine rather than ban :( .

people who send me PM a lot of people were scammed and unhappy

so now you go the moral of the story do not use the same password every where, if there are accounts you really want to protect use a stronger password... the good thing is that my mail, paypal got a different password so i was saved... as least that M***** FU*** didnt get into there.

guess this is a lesson i wont forget that easy and those who read this keep it in mind, internet is a dangerous place.

the reason-getting serious

All my life i have been a wannabe. From when i was a kid to me 19 years old. I wanted to be one thing or another but never quite put any effort into it, i have never been serious about anything in my life. I have dreams, always had them , and many people like whom i admire. But the effort i put into my dream this past 19 years was zero percent %. I have always been dreaming for 19 years and i have never woken up from those dream to work. APJ Abdul Kalam said " dream,dream,dream and makes these dreams to thoughts and these thoughts into action" in my case i have only dreamed and nothing else more than that..... there is also another saying, i don't know if it true, "if you want something with all your heart then the whole of the universe will conspire to help you get what you want".... From my previous experience i have learned one thing there is some meaning in that saying, the universe/god have always helped me , blessed me but there was one flow in my case the entire universe didn't work together there was one key person who didn't put any effort - that was me.

I am fed up with my old life and i want to change, there is nothing more i want to do than work towards my dream and achieve it no matter how much hard work it take.... I have been told by other and more importantly my conscience that the reason why i am not able to do so is that i am not serious so after some researching and mindless surfing in the net i have decided to start a blog. So how is a blog gonna help you ask, well its like this if i can get serious about blogging and blog once in a while here i think it can help me get serious and do something with my life. and making few pocket change on the way will also be beneficial to me kinda an inspiration and my dreams require few financial investment and this blog will hope fully help me :) .

So that's the reason why this blog was started and is being updated. As many of you already know or understand the so called illegal downloading of movies through torrents is not actually a problem or threat to the entertainment industry but actually, as business people call it a "new venture ". Here is a documentary filmmaker , who support people uploading his new documentary,Blue Gold"World water wars,to torrent site. He request people who download to consider donating a small amount through his website or buy a DVD.

well as he said he wishes more people would buy his DVD and now as you can see from this blog post i am giving his documentary a free advertising :D and i should also point out that if this documentary wasn't relesed in the torrent site the chances of me watching it is 0%, i saw people downloading it and downloaded it. Now he a got a new fan due to that. Its a really good one, if you ask me.

The site should add some google ads or something like that they would have made good money ;) , i am sure the site is now getting a lot of trafic as there are many sites linking to it now and in IMDB due to torrent popularity ofcousrse

People at the entertainment industry should really consider about this way of making media available to the general public/customers. Torrents can be considered by them as a double edged sword,i agree, but the side that is towards this is blunt and the other one is sharp. It might decrease there sales..... But selling music directly is not the only way to make money. One can sell fan stuff like t shirts, concert tickets,etc and for these products to be sold popularity is a must and torrents are reaching more people kinda a more efficient Internet advertising...... and these so called pirates are not people who don't pay money. actually most are willing to pay they want to try them out first.
