They had to cross the river to continue their journey further. They saw a young woman getting washed away in the river. The sage saw this and was shocked and prayed God to rescue her. One of the disciples without even thinking for a moment jumped in to the water and rescued the woman and left her on the shore and continued the journey. All three were silent for a long time , after which the sage asked the disciple as why he touched the woman to save her after getting the upadesha for sanyasa from him.For that the disciple replied " O great Guru. Iam no bigger than you. I have a doubt. Please excuse me If I am saying anything wrong. I had left the woman on the banks of the river. But you have been carrying the woman in your thoughts all this time. Is this not a greater sin than what I did?" The sage realised his mistake immediately.

ChinnaMani Kuyile - Tami Karaoke

2.Don't criticize, condemn or complain.
3.Give honest and sincere appreciation.
4.Arouse in the other person an eager want.
5.Six ways to make people like you
6.Become genuinely interested in other people.
7.Smile.
8.Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
9.Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
10.Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
11.Make the other person feel important - and do it sincerely.
12.Win people to your way of thinking
13.The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
14.Show respect for the other person's opinions. Never say, "You're wrong."
15.If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.
16.Begin in a friendly way.
17.Get the other person saying "yes, yes" immediately.
18.Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.
19.Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers.
20.Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.
21.Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires.
22.Appeal to the nobler motives.
23.Dramatize your ideas.
24.Throw down a challenge.
25.Be a Leader: How to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment
26.A leader's job often includes changing your people's attitudes and behavior. Some suggestions to accomplish this:
27.Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
28.Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly.
29.Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.
30.Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
31.Let the other person save face.
32.Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement.
Be "hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise."
33.Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.
34.Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
35.Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest.

Com Science Course Lectures 11 to 28

Lecture 11 | Programming Methodology (Stanford)
Blr is the place where most of the South Indians would prefer to work, most even from metros like Hyd and Chn prefer to be in Blr. And many of the Techis from other places end up in Blr as they can get some good jobs here. Blr is a hub for Techis... one would have studied in some small engineering college in a small town, if they try and get a job in Blr their future is made.

I would say most of the techi companies in Blr pay a real good starting salary. The amount spent by a student for his studies during his engineering can be earned in his First month salary itself. That is how the trend is now.

Like this most of them flee to Blr for their career. The number of PGs and Hostels have multiplied like anything. People coming to Blr stay either in PGs or Hostels and they can afford for a great living in Blr.

High Salaries > LOTS OF FREEDOM > RESULT ! ?

Whats the result ? Most of them have so much of Money and Freedom that they spend lavishly. Ofcourse its their money and they spend.

MOVIES ! PUBS ! BAR ! DISCO ! BOWLING ! PARTIES

When we look at the crowd in the Discos or Pubs - MOST OF THE CROWD WD BE NON-BLRians

In India Girls consuming alchol is not at all common. Well its individual's wish - How many bangalore born girls are like that compared to others who live in Blr ? Very Very Less... Blr born girls stay with their families with their parents. So they cant go home drunk. Its just equal to Impossible.

Late night Parties and Discos - Again in this corporate world the parties and discos have increased. Just a couple of years ago all these were not so vibrant for a normal middle class family born individual. But now even some one coming from a very small town goes to parties and Discos when in Blr. Their money they spend. Yes Blr girls also have money but they have the responsibility of getting back home on time. They are answerable to their parents when they reach home very late. Yes the Blr girls party but there are lots of limitations. Most of them live with in that limitation unlike those who stay on their own in Blr.

There is an expression given about girls in Blr from outsider ...............

OHHHHHHHHHH BANGALORE GIRL !

It is thought that Blr girls are too forward. Yes Blr girls are forward in their thoughts about their goles about their responsibilites about their respect to the culture. They are bold enough to express their thoughts. Is that wrong ?!?

Then WHY non Bangalorians give that expression and a kind of OHHH opinion about Blr Girls ?!

People who speak so STOP it... just STOP it

Disclaimer : These are my individual opinion. I have expressed my heart and therefore do not hold any responsibility. Non bangaloreans do not take this offensive.

Earn money thru Food Blog

Food blogging is a terrible way to make money if you enjoy living in the First World. This year, food blogging will pay my rent but not much else. Here is how to do at least that, without devoting your entire life to blogging:

Advertising for your food blog
Which ad network? Or which combination of ad networks?

There is no single ad network that is right for everybody. The most profitable blogs tend to use a mix of networks and play to each of the networks strengths. This list of networks is by no means exhaustive: there are hundreds of ad networks out there.

Google Adsense – Everyone has Google Ads; the number of people getting rich from them apart from Google shareholders is miniscule. Google’s biggest coup is that it has realised that most bloggers are happy to get paid nothing as long as a few dollars trickle through. The advantage of Google is ease of use: they’re dead simple to add to your site, customise in a bare bones fashion and earn a few cents a click. You can use them on every blog network. They’re the ultimate in low maintenance. The disadvantages are the low pay and the complete lack of control over which ads turn up on your site. Because the ads are geographically targeted, the ads that you see won’t be the ones that anyone else sees. This is fine if you don’t care.

Yahoo! – Just like Google but second best!

Text Link Ads – if you want to people to find your website by searching on Google, this network is dead in the water. Google penalises your “page rank” if you use it, but I use it over at Phnomenon because in most of the categories that I write in, I have no competition on the web. It pays very well, doesn’t rely on clicks (so you make money whether people click your ads or not), and if you place them judiciously, people won’t even notice that they’re being advertised at.

A similar network TNX.net has beaten Google for now. They’re still in the early stages of development (as the spelling mistakes on their beta site attests) but worth watching.
Blog Ads – the specialist ad network for bloggers. They’re a handy way to make money when you have low traffic because they pay regardless. The downside of this network is that if you do receive big, unpredictable spikes in the number of people visiting your site, you won’t be getting an equally large spike in earnings. They’re invite-only which is a strategy that I still don’t understand.

Selling other people’s products

When people read your favorite cake recipe, it is unlikely that they’ll click on the ingredients to buy them online. When people read a digital camera review, the opposite is true. Selling other people’s products and making a commission is a popular way to make money for most bloggers but it is difficult for food bloggers to do well because of the nature of the subject. Most of society does not buy the bulk of their food online. The easiest way to sell products is via Amazon affiliates program or the lesser known Chitika (Probloggers swear by it, because unlike Amazon, it relies less on you making sales and more on click-throughs)

If you want to spend your time writing reviews of products then this is a possible way to make money and there are still a few niches where food bloggers could be making huge amounts of cash: major appliances and kitchenware. Most of the top food bloggers already use Amazon to link to cookbooks but most of the time it is just a half-hearted link rather than a ringing endorsement.

Selling your own ads
Selling your own ads is by far the most profitable way to make money for your blog because it is one of the few avenues by which you’ll firstly be in direct contact with the advertisers’ money and secondly, will be able to charge what your blog is worth. The only downside is that you have to do the selling. As much as I love marketing, marketing is not sales. The low effort way to sell your own ads is to put a banner where your ad would be and link to your rates page. How much should you charge? Here’s blog network Gawker Media’s rates for their network of professionally produced and edited blogs. That will at least give you a point for comparison.

Unconventional means
Merchandise
A few food blogs sell their own merchandise: Chubby Hubby was selling notecards for a time; Ideas in Food sell their photo book; I’m considering turning Phnomenon into a book. If you can find a niche this may be worthwhile
Make money from every link
I was going to call this bit “monetize your food blog”, but I get a sharp stabbing sensation in the part of my brain that stores verbed nouns every time I write “monetize”. Whenever you can throw in a product link, make sure that you make money from it. For most bloggers, this means the occasional link to an Amazon product, but you’ll notice that practically every link on this page has my referrer code on it. If you sign up for anything then I make money from you! It doesn’t affect your income but I benefit.
Get hired by someone else as a food blogger
This isn’t as hard as you think it might be. B5 Media are always on the lookout for good bloggers. Problogger keeps a handy jobs board: at last check there were two paid food blogger positions. The biggest advantage of making money from your food blog in this way is that (generally) you need not worry about the technical side of the blog or selling ads as the blog network/business will do the design and marketing. The down side is that the pay is terrible and you have no control over design and marketing.
Sell your posts and photos
If you think that your posts and photos are magazine quality, try selling them to magazines. For me, selling a single article to an American newspaper earns just a little less than the income from my two sites for a month. Get over to mediabistro and to your local press to get started. Scoopt started a business selling blog posts to mainstream magazines as ScooptWords (e.g. these food bloggers in Olive Magazine) but have since seemed to have discontinued the blog side of their business to concentrate on cellphone snaps of celebrities.
As for photos, the online stock photo business is well on its way to destroying a valuable income earner for the bad professional photographers who take the photo of the guy climbing the mountain with a briefcase. Good pro photographers will always have a business. To sell your food photos online, see the links below
Sell out entirely

Get paid to write reviews of other websites at somewhere like ReviewMe. If I no longer valued human decency, I’d make $60 every time that somebody wanted me to review whatever shit that they thrust in my direction.

Where should I place ads to make the most money?
Here.

blog ad heat map

Google published the above heat map to show which ads are clicked the most with the red areas being the most clicked. They have also produced one targeted at blogs which is a little more rudimentary and when I’ve tested it, doesn’t seem to work well.
Also useful are themes for your site designed with making money in mind. See below for links.

The easiest way to make money from blogging is writing about making money from blogging.
Just because I’m making a Third World income from blogging doesn’t mean that you can’t earn more. Read Shoemoney or Problogger. They’re earning 6 figure amounts but they’re also devoting the entirety of their lives to doing it. Sadly, that is the bare minimum amount of time you’ll need to spend.

Maintaining your audience
How often should I write?
As often as you like.

The standard answer to this is that if you are looking to increase your audience, often is better. If you look at Technorati’s top blogs, most of these sites are updated multiple times a day. You’ll also notice that none of them are food blogs, unless you count icanhascheezburger.com which is substantively about cats perverting the English language.

I’d prefer to be reading blogs that update once a month and write 15,000 word articles rather than one that writes two 250 word posts a day. I’m not most people, but nonetheless, I’d encourage you to write for me. What seems to matter as much as frequency is consistency. If you plan to write once a week, stick to your schedule.

Egg Capsicum Burji

Should a recipe for Egg Burji be posted is what I first thought ! But why not, after all its also yet another dish. Egg Burji is a usual quick side dish that can be made any time during the day. Some additional ingredients than the usual onion Egg Burji would make a difference. This change is what I learnt from M. Here in Germany we get the Green, Red and Golden or Orange Capsicum packed together helps me give colours to my recipe.

A little about Capsi : When you buy capsicum you got to buy a bright looking one wich is firm and unwrinkled. Its also called as Paprika or Cayenne/Bell pepper. Red ones are high in Vitamin A and C than the green one. They are free of fat and One Red capsicum contains 2 teaspoons of natural sugar therefore they taste better than the green ones.

A little about Capsi : When you buy capsicum you got to buy a bright looking one wich is firm and unwrinkled. Eggs : 4 Nos
Onions : 1 No.
Capsicum : Half of one big
Green Chillies : 4 Nos.
Curry leaves : 1 strand
Coriander Leaves for garnishing
Mustard Seeds - half tea spn
Urad Dhal : half tea spn
Milk : 2-3 tea spn
Turmeri : qtr tea spn
Oil and Salt
Method of preparation : Heat 2 tbl spns of oil in a pan and add Mustard seeds, once they splutter add Urad dhal, Curry leaves and Green Chillies which are finely chopped after few seconds add Onions and fry for a minute, now add chopped Capsicum fry till the onion turn translucent. Add turmeric powder and salt, now pour the beaten egg into the pan and add milk to it and stir well. Milk makes the Burji softer. Fry for abt 1 to 2 min till the egg gets cooked. The best chutney I have tasted, it comes out great when she makes.

Ingredients:
Coconut : 1 cup chopped or grated
Fried Grams : half cup
Green Chillies : 3 Nos.
Mint Leaves : 2 strings
Tamarind : 1 small piece or half tea spoon paste
Curry Leaves : 2 strings
Coriander Leaves : 4-5 strings
Garlic : 3-4 cloves
Ginger : qtr inch
Salt
Add all the above except Curry Leaves and Coriander into a mixer jar and grind it coarsely adding water. Once its almost done then add the curry leaves and coriander just blend it for 2 sec and remove.
Ingredients for Seasoning :
Oil : 1 tea spn
Mustard seeds : 1vtea spn
Urad Dhal : 1 tea spn
Curry Leaves : 1 string
Heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, once it splutters add Urad Dhal and Curry leaves. Mix this into the ground chuttney. Seasoning enhances the flavour and aroma.
*Optional : You can add a few pinches of Hing(Asafotida) while seasoning.
*Do not add too much of Fried grams as it would not give a great taste.

Beerakai Chuttney

Beerakai/Ridge gourd/Peekankai/Erekai/Chinese Okra Chuttney.
I tasted this once when I visited an aunt during my school vacation, it tasted ultimate with Idli. I never had heard about it till then. Very recently I got to know the recipe for this. Goes well with Dosas and Idli.

Ingredients:
Ridge Gourd : 2 Nos
Onions : 2 Nos
Garlic : 4 cloves
Green chillies : 4-5 Nos.
Fried Channa Dhal - 3 tbl spoons
Tamarind : 1 table tennis ball size
Mustard seeds : half tbl spn
Cumin seeds : half tbl spn
Urad dhal : 1 tbl spn
Oil
Method of preparation: Heat a tbl spn of oil and fry the following spearately for a min each
1.Tamarind 2.Green chillies 3.Garlic 4.Fried Channa Dhal
Now heat a tbl spn oil add Mustard and Cumin seeds once they splutter add chopped onions, once they turn golden brown add the Ridge Gourd fry for 5 min and then add half cup of water till the vegi is cooked.
Add this to the blender along with the other fried ingredients with some salt. Add water if required and grind well.
For seasoning :
Hing/Asafotida : 2 pinches
Oil : 1 tbl spn
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spn
Urad Dhal : 1 tea spn
Cumin seeds : half tea spn
Dry chilly : 1 No.
Heat oil in pan add mustard seeds when they splutter add urad dhal, cumin seeds, dry chilly and 2 pinches of hing. Pour this on the chuttney.
* The thickness can be adjusted as you like. For mixing with rice make it a little watery.
* As the vegi is little sweeter in nature, add an extra chilly than the usual which would take out the sweetness from the dish.

Batura

One big poori with chole with it. A dish that I never used to order as I would not eat Pooris when in India. However now that its a favourite of M, I have now got used to it. I could manage to make a pluffy Batura here. Lets goahead and see the recipe now :

Ingredients:
Maida : 1 cup (All Purpose flour)
Wheat Flour : 1 cup
Baking powder : qtr tea spn
Sugar : half tea spn
Sooji : 1-2 tbl spoon (Rava)
Butter milk : half cup
Milk or Water
Salt
Oil for frying

Method of preparation : In a bowl add Maida, Wheat Flour, Baking powder, Sugar, Sooji and Salt and mix well now add Butter milk and for the rest of the mositure add appropriate qty water or Milk.
Make a little tighter dough than the usual chappati dough. Allas put a little oil and spread it all over the dough and rest this for 1-2 hrs.
After that make small dumplings and roll it evenly. Heat oil in a pan for frying, drop the rolled dough into the oil and press it using a skimmer so that the bubble that would be formed becomes bigger. Just one bubble would make it blow big. Serve with Chole.

* Normally Batura is made only with Maida and not Wheat Flour. However I used Wheat Flour as we cant eat much when its done with Maida alone. However made the taste remains the same.

* Serve it immediately as you prepare it. The baturas stays puffed for 10 to 15 min after its made.

Coriander Chicken (dry/gravy)

A little different from the usual chicken curry where we add onions and tomatoes. Tastes great with rasam rice. Kandipappu Oorupindi is the name in Telugu.
Ingredients :
Toor Dhal : 1 cup
Dry chillies : 2 Nos.
Pepper : half tea spn
Salt, Oil
Method : In a pan add the Toor Dhal and fry with half tea spn oil it turns golden color, be sure you keep mixing it, so that it does not get roasted too much. Put this into a blender. Now in the same pan add the chillies and pepper and fry for few seconds. Put this also into the blender along with salt. Once it comes to room temperature grind it adding little water. Grind it coarsely. Oorupindi is done.
*When you wanna have this with rasam rice as side dish then add less water.
*You can make it little watery and mix it with plain rice and have.

Perugu Bonda (Curd Bonda)

A dish that I learnt from my sis. 1 cup Maida
1 cup Sour Curd or Yogurt (Thick)
3 Nos Green Chillies
1 string Curry Leaves
Coriander leaves
1 pinch : Baking soda
Salt
Oil for frying
Preparation Method : Finely chop the Green chillies, Coriander, Curry leaves and Onions and put them into a bowl along with Maida, Curd, Baking Soda and Salt. Make it into a thick batter that you can drop into the oil.
Heat oil in a pan and drop the batter into the oil using a spoon. Fry till it turns a little darker.
Tomatoes : 4 Nos.
Onions : 2 Nos.
Green Chillies : 3 Nos.
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spn
Urad Dhal : 1 tea spn
Curry Leaves : 2 strings
Bay leaf : 1 No.
Turmeric : half tea spn
Garam Masala : half tea spn (optional)
Mint Leaves : 2 strings
Coriander leaves, Salt, Oil
Method of preparation : Heat 2 tbl spn of oil in a pan and add Mustard seeds once it splutters add Urad dhal, Bay leaf, Green chillies, Curry leaves and then the finely chopped Onions. Once the onions turns golden brown add turmeric and finely chopped tomatoes and salt. Fry it till the tomatoes gets fried well and now you can add the garam masala if you like else finish it off adding coriander leaves.
*Adding coriander leaves atlast gives the curry a nice aroma.
Years ago dad used to buy this for me from the near by shop. Recently for Diwali I wanted to make this at home however I did not have the flour at home, allas managed to do it now. I was so excited when I was preparing.
For us here in Germany, if we feel like having any sweets or snacks(our indian varieties), we got to prepare it at home. Well this has made me learn all those varieties which my mom would not prepare at home as buying from shops is more comfortable in India. Lets see how to prepare this.

Ingredients:
Gram flour : 1 cup
Water : half cup
Sugar : 1.5 cup
Water : 1 cup
Cardamom powder : 2 pinch
Dry grapes, Almonds without skin (for garnishing)
Oil for frying
Method of preparation
Pour the Water and Sugar together in a vessel and heat for 7 to 10 min. Keep stirring it occasionally. Add cardamom powder. This is the Sugar syrup. Keep it aside.
In a bowl add the Gram flour and Water and mix well such that the lumps are removed. This is the boondi flour.
In a pan heat oil and take a Skimmer (see pic below) and hold it abt 2 inches above the oil and pour the boondi flour on it such that the flour drips into the oil. Hold it till one full layer is done on the oil. Fry for abt 7-9min. Strain the oil and drop it directly into the sugar syrup. Repeat it till the batter is over. Fry the almonds for a min in the same oil and drop it into the syrup along with dry grapes.
If you follow the proportions given above, the syrup would be right enough. If you make this into small rounds - lime size then its Ladoo...

pic : Skimmer
*I used a small plate which has holes in it to make the boondi as I have only one skimmer with me which I had to use to strain out the oil once the boondi was fried. You could do so if its the same case with you.

Achari Gosh

Its an indian curry which tastes little like pickle.
