New Paper Craft: Zoo Tycoon - White Bengal Tiger Free Papercraft Download

2017-01-20T02:37:00.000-08:00

This animal paper model is the White Bengal Tiger, based on the video game series Zoo Tycoon, the papercraft is created by DrWheelieMobile.

White Bengal Tigers are not naturally found in the wild. The only wild White Bengal tiger documented was Mohan, who was captured in 1951 and bred with a normal Bengal tiger and then bred to one of his daughters which produced the very first White Bengal tigers born in captivity. White tigers are not albino but have a mutation known as leucisum. Leucisum is similar to albinism but less extreme. A leucistic will have faded or full markings, normal or blue eyes, normal skin color, and normal nose color. Leucisum is also double recessive meaning that both parents must carry the gene in order for the offspring to have the white color. As a result White tigers have become extremely inbred and sickly animals. Another side effect of leucisum is that it wires the optic nerve to the wrong side of the brain, making all White tigers cross eyed whether it shows or not.

New Paper Craft: Avro Canada C102 Jetliner Free Airplane Paper Model Download

2017-01-20T02:32:00.000-08:00

This airplane paper model is an Avro Canada C102 Jetliner, a Canadian prototype medium-range turbojet-powered jet airliner built by Avro Canada, the papercraft is created by Pilsworth, and the scale is in 1:72.

The Avro C102 Jetliner was beaten to the air by only 13 days by the de Havilland Comet, thereby becoming the second jet airliner in the world. The name "Jetliner" was chosen as a shortening of the term "jet airliner", a term which is still in popular usage in Canada and the United States. The aircraft was considered suitable for busy routes along the US eastern seaboard and garnered intense interest, notably from Howard Hughes who even offered to start production under license. However continued delays in Avro"s all-weather interceptor project, the Avro CF-100, led to an order to stop working on the project in 1951, with the prototype Jetliner later cut up for scrap. New Paper Craft: Swedish Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103) MBT Free Paper Model Download

2017-01-20T02:31:00.000-08:00

This paper model is a Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103, also known as the S-Tank), a Swedish post-war main battle tank, the papercraft is created by Paper Tanks, and the scale is in 1:50.

The Stridsvagn 103 was known for its unconventional design: it was turretless with a fixed gun traversed by engaging the tracks and elevated by adjusting the hull suspension. While turretless armoured fighting vehicles are usually classified as assault guns or tank destroyers, despite its unique gun laying process the Strv 103 is considered a tank because its designated combat role matched those of other tanks within contemporary Swedish doctrine. It is the only tank of any kind since World War II to dispense with a turret.

The Strv 103 was designed and manufactured in Sweden. It was developed in the 1950s and was the first main battle tank to use a turbine engine. The result was a very low-profile design with an emphasis on survivability and heightened crew protection level. Strv 103s formed a major portion of the Swedish armoured forces from the 1960s to part of the 1990s, when, along with the Centurions, it was replaced with the Stridsvagn 121 and the Stridsvagn 122. New Paper Craft: Soviet Main Battle Tank T-62 Ver.2 Free Paper Model Download

2017-01-20T02:04:00.000-08:00

This paper model is a T-62, a Soviet main battle tank that was first introduced 1961, the papercraft is created by [unknown], and the scale is in 1:35. There is another T-62 Main Battle Tank Paper Model on the site.

As a further development of the T-55 series, the T-62 retained many similar design elements of its predecessor including low profile and thick turret armor. In contrast previous tanks, which were armed with rifled tank guns, the T-62 was the first tank armed with a smoothbore tank gun that could fire APFSDS rounds at higher velocities.

While the T-62 became the standard tank in the Soviet arsenal, it did not fully replace the T-55 in export markets due to its higher manufacturing costs and maintenance requirements compared to its predecessor. Although T-62 was replaced in the Russia and successor states of the Soviet Union, it is still used in some countries and its design features became standardized in subsequent Soviet and Russian mass-produced tanks.
