Over the last two weeks I have been looking at revamping my website matchbox1-75.co.uk. The old site got hacked, and it was getting stale in appearance - 13 years without any change, and something needed to be done.

I wanted to go down the Joomla route, but that was just a lot of hassle, I have been out of the web design game for a good few years now and to re-learn all the new coding rules for HTML5, etc would be a bit too much time invested.

Then I decided to try out Wordpress. And as if by magic everything started to fall into place. Updating the site was easy, I am getting rid of the dedicated hosting as I can get 3Gb worth of space via WP and the total volume of images are less than 400Mb in size - so a bonus.

I am gradually adding page by page back to the site and it will take a long time, but pages have not been looked at since 2004 so a good time to re-check the data. It is progressing well.

But then I also looked at WP in terms of a blog. This blog. And after starting at the start of this month, I have to say that WP is far better than Blogger, in terms of mobile ability, the use of images and tags, categories and set up. So much so, that I have now imported this entire blog to WP. Ok, there are a few things that Blogger does far better than WP, but the positives of WP outweigh those of Blogger.

And thus I have made a decision to stop using Blogger as of this post. I had a few subscribers over the past few years, but it is time to move on. I will keep this blog up for a period of time, but I will take it down in the next 2-3 months. As I have said all my posts are now on

keefydblog.wordpress.com

Please feel free to stop by, subscribe to the blog and comment as necessary on my musings. The journey has ended here for me on Blogger but continues on Wordpress.
