I remembered when my superior told me to picked up the bread in Julies Bakeshop as part of our consumption for the week or else the bakeshop would be closed if I didn't hurry up. And he added that I would not stopped when friends called me and have a"chit-chat" so to say. I never instilled it into my mind I just walked away, hurried up and it seemed I never heard that correction from my superior. But as part of my sociable life, I cannot hold myself to talk with my friends on the way to the bakeshop. I forgot or I never heeded his correction to me that is why I missed the opportunity to have those bread. In short we didn't have bread as our consumption for those week. I didn't know if they blamed me. But one thing I knew fortunately I could not slept at those night. To my failure many suffered. "huhuhuhu", but I never regretted it. I learned a lot.

Reflection:

Sometimes we, as human as we are, tend to suit first our likes and wants in life before the precepts or rules. That is why, unperfect we are, things go wrong. But there is always hope. There is always a space to change. There is always a space to make it perfect.

He’s a cute little creature, though an “askal’ breed.
He’s a new addition of living entity into my “ahapi abode”…
He’s the youngest, the funniest, wackiest.
He has many names:
‘Kagaw” or germs, because sometimes he’s naughty
My friend Micky call him Nico
And the rest of his a hapi brothers call him “Tungcoy”, Butt I’d rather call him: Avatar, the grandiest of ‘em all.
Maybe because he’s loveable,
he is a baby and a darling in our little home.
He’s our debonair doggie-doggie…

Huh, a cougar night in our life suddenly happen!
Avatar left his body.
A passenger jeep rolled over our lovely creature’s body.
We are saddened and felt the pain deep in our soul.
Tears flowing from Avatar’s foster human father.
Deep within our hearts, we all mourn by his untimely passing.
He leave this planet while young.
We all missed his physical presence!

Now, his soul, I’m sure goes to the rainbow bridge,
A place just beside the heaven.
There, he’s made whole and strong again.
There, he’s happy but surely he is missing us too.

He’s gone too soon…
In my realization, he’s just a barrowed stuff toy.
The universe had been kind enough
To send Avatar into our life for us to show
the intricacies of our love.
His short stint with us was such a wonderful opportunity
That made us realize: that we all exit into this physical body!
Like Avatar, we leave this planet in a way we least expect.

Hi! I’m Russ M. Bayno. I’m the eldest son of Rolando Uy Bayno and Teresita Macarat Bayno. Second to me is my brother Rowel who is now presently working in Qatar. Third of the sibling is Rosalie who is now presently residing at the house of my parents in Cebu City, our ancestral house. Fourth sibling is my white and handsome man, Rico who is now working as a computer artist and renderer in somewhere in Singapore. The last sibling but not the least is our beautiful youngest Rosela who is hopefully planning to go to abroad just to get out from box where she is in.
Fortunately, the story would not center to their life but for me. To have a short background of my life, I finished my Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science (BSICS) in University of Cebu. It was a tough years for me. I experienced sleeping outside my house just to finish the programming thing. I even slept in the computer center where I’m working for as part-timer data encoder, typist, programmer, and so on and so forth. Why I did that, there were two reasons: first, that’s the only to extend my laboratory time. Second, that’s the only playing ground where I can practice what I have learned in school. It was a great opportunity for me. It was there that I learned a lot. I sentimentally said to myself, “I’m ready to work to a computer firm where competition is high and I can do it.” But something changed, the blew of the wind went to its opposite direction. I didn’t know why, It ‘s just a three-hundred-sixty shift of paradigm of interest. I woke up in the morning that I wore the white garment, “sotana” as they called it. I was indeed inside the seminary. I became a missionary, Augustinian Missionary (OAD). There I have my philosophical studies [St. Peter Seminary – Butuan City] and theology [Seminario Major De San Carlos – Cebu City]. I stayed in the seminary for almost 11 years. Unfortunately, I left the seminary for the reason that I fall. I could not hold myself but l started to like “Eve”. What is in “Eve” that I could not resist? What is in “Eve” that I could not hold my breath? These questions are still puzzled me until now. Can you tell me what is it? Do you have any idea in your mind now of what is it? Tell me! What happened to me then was a nightmare. I could not believe that I did that, and leaving my brothers in the community. I stayed in my home with no itinerary outside. I just stayed inside my house. That happened for almost three months. Why? Because I felt awkward and not used to be in the world and not used to be with the crowd. After three months I started to get out my house and encourage myself to talk with the people around me and I did.
Presently, I sojourned in Bohol where I volunteer myself in the Non-Government Organization (NGO). Its name is Alliance for Health Aid Program, Inc. [AHAPI]. I’m the Operations Manager of this NGO. We always conduct Medical Mission to different places or towns in Bohol. Our mission is to reach out those lowly and less fortunate [particularly the indigents, and Senior Citizens] and give them free consultation with our volunteer physician and medicines. This mission of ours started last August 18, 2008. [see our website: www.ahapibohol.wordpress.com]. Graciously, we conducted 15 medical missions in 15 towns. This is the thing we are so thankful for. If you are here, you could be one of our partners in this endeavor. But God has a plan for you. We don’t know when and where He will put you.

it has been a long time that i am absent in blogging. I shift my focus for a while for some reasons. I don't want to divulge it here but the most important that i'm back again whole. To tell you the truth, i'm missing the blogging thing. but my coming back brings new me, new life, new paradigm shift. it is more interesting now.

The forthcoming Medical Mission in Upper De La Paz, Cortes, Bohol

One of the exciting moment of AHAPI (Alliance for Health Aid Program, Inc.) is to help the residence of Barangay De La Paz, Cortes in terms of Medical Mission. We freely give our support to the people of Barangay De La Paz, Cortes. In what way, of course, we again give free consultation to our volunteer doctor and free medicines as long as there is this availability. We have our down to earth volunteers such as nurses, student nurses, and pharmacists. They continue pouring their strength to help the people. They have the heart full of love to serve. Their deeds are the expression of the spirit of voluntarism.
This coming October 31, 2009, in the place of Barangay De La Paz, Cortes, the Medical Mission will be catered.
We give our gratitudes to our lovable leader spearheaded by our Barangay Captain Helen Sotto with her Barangay Councils for allowing us to give our service to the people.
We don't count how many medical mission we completed but what we count is the joy of faces of the people whom we share our love.

A group of persons with a charitable heart composed of a naturopathic health practitioner, a religious brother, a young solon, a financial consultant from the provincial government, a radioman, a Businessman/Entrepreneur, a DEP-ED Supervisor, and a marketing specialist and formerly a seminarian, had convened together in the early part of 2008 and organized AHAPI, formerly known as Allied Health Assistance Program, Inc. which started on August 8, 2008 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Considering the importance of linking with other professionals and other volunteers with varied skills, the organizers has considered to register a new name which is now registered at the Securities & Exchange Commission. The new AHAPI acronym would mean “Alliance for Health Aide Program, Inc.”

AHAPI is a non-governmental organization engaged in a charitable undertaking by offering Free Medical Consultations and Free Medicines to the 68,000 members of the Federation of Senior Citizens in the province of Bohol. It will also cater non-senior citizens and serves as a bridge to private hospitals, clinics, laboratories, dental clinics, & optical clinics wherein 5 to 40% discounts are offered to AHAPI beneficiaries. It is indeed an answer to the provincial government’s thrust for poverty reduction and development initiative.

AHAPI in its infancy had also established linkages in both private and government sectors including those in the grassroots level in order to properly addressed its charitable undertaking.

On March 2008, three gentlemen from different professions [ a naturopathic therapist, paramedic and a yogi; and the other two are former seminarians] have convened together and came up with an idea of establishing a Non- Governmental Organization they called AHAPI or Allied Health Assistance Program, Inc. with the 68,000 Senior Citizens in the province of Bohol as their primary beneficiary.

These organizers with a charitable heart wanted to serve the elderly by providing them with a free medical consultations and free medicines in the provinces, reaching out those who are less in life particularly the elderly who are unable to commute to the city to seek medical treatment.

Establishing an N.G.O., particularly spearheading a series of Medical Mission and distribution of Medicine is a gargantuan task that needs financial support….

But God is good!

A young and benevolent solon who listened to the organizers idea was such a great blessing. Without hesitation and cloud of doubts, he generously gave financial assistance out from his own pocket, and thus AHAPI was able to take off.

As of today, AHAPI is growing very rapidly in terms of Medical Services. We are on top as far as Medical Mission in the provinces and distribution of medicines.

Most of the Filipinos now a days are good spender rather than good saver. If we try to look around and have a survey in each household people are didn't aware that they are wise spender than being wise saver. If we ask them to jot down all the expenses that they made and compare to the income that they have received they might shock and stun of what they see. For sure, for those who doesn't know, their expenses are more than to their income every month. How sad it is.

Here is the tips of how to save:
1. Save On Gas
1.1. Plan your trip properly so that you go straight to your destination.
1.2. Avoid going on unnecessary trips, if you can reach your destination through public transport, it is advisable to do so.
1.3. Always use your odometer to measure the distances between the places your frequently go to
1.4. Those vehicles with aircon, avoid using aircon as much as possible.
1.5. Maintain your vehicles regularly, change oil as scheduled, check radiator since oil and water determines engine efficiency.
1.6. Load gas early morning to ge more from it since gas contracts when cold; expands when hot.
1.7. Change oil as scheduled for engine efficiency.
1.8. Check tire pressure periodically also for economy and safety.
1.9. If there is somebody doing the above ro you (e.g. driver) always remind that person to be conscious of and always follow the tips.
1.10. Family members should always be updated of what's going on and they should be enjoined to participate in the saving effort.

2. Save on Household Expense.
2.1. Always have a list of what you will buy in the grocery store or at the market.
2.2. Budget the amount you will use to buy your household needs; if you can, buy in bulk non-perishables to avail of discounts.
2.3. Buy and cook yourself unprocessed food instead of processed ones which surely have cost plus markup (e.g. canned goods).
2.4. Cook only one-time for lunch and dinner and just enough so that there will be no or only very little food leftover.
2.5. Cook food that last longer (e.g. adobo) not those turning sour shortly (e.g. tinola, sinigang...).
2.6. If your stove uses LPG, install gas saving device for efficient use of gas.
2.7. Do not forget to turnoff gas stove after use for economy and safety.
2.8. If there is somebody doing the above for you (e.g. helper) always remind that person to be conscious of and always follow the tips.
2.9. Trade convenience with economy by buying household needs in public markets instead of grocery in malls.
2.10. Family members should always be updated of what's going on and they should be enjoined to participate in the saving effort.

3. Take Care of your Health
3.1. Eat nutritious and healthy food. Avoid eating processed food (e.g. hotdog, bacon, processed meats, doughnuts, French fries) or junk food (e.g. chips, crackers, cookies).
3.2. Eat only what's enough to remain healthy, no more no less.
3.3. Eat breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day, do no skip it.
3.4. Be concious of the food that you eat by knowing certain facts about them (e.g. calories).
3.5. Sleep restfully, do not oversleep or do not suffer its opposite of sleep deprivation.
3.6. Exercise regularly as scheduled. This should be before going to or after coming from work.
3.7. Have your vital health signs checked by your doctor "An ounce of prevention is better that a pound of cure."
3.8. Have a clean surroundings, especially where you live and always be in places where the air you breathe is clean.
3.9. Avoid crowded places (e.g. malls) because the chance of germs (e.g. virus, bacteria) in the air is high in crowded areas.
3.10. Do everything in your life (e.g. eating, working, exercising, recreating) in moderation. Anything excessive is harmful.

Last October 18, 2009, Philippine Blog Awards stunned Cebu for its big support for Visayas bloggers. It was being held in City Sports Club Cebu (CSCC), Sinulog 3-4 last Sunday. Unknowingly, Bohol Bloggers weren't around. Maybe nobody detected that we were/are existed. But it's Ok for us.

Anyway, so much for that digression,what is PBA? PBA is an abbreviation of the phrase, Philippine Blog Awards. What is/are the contribution of PBA to our society today? There are astonishing roles that PBA has to tackle. But first, let us know the very strength of this institution. I have to copy the words coming from the Philippine Blog Awards (PBA)that says "the Filipino Blogging Community is a diverse and vibrant mix of personalities and individuals. Bloggers of different tastes. Bloggers of different views. Bloggers of different ages. Bloggers of different persuasion. Bloggers of different forms, shape and purpose.All Filipinos in spirit.

A while ago, I was setting in front of the desktop computer trying to browse my old friends in my social networking sites. Most likely I trace them in my facebook and friendster. But something happened. I was stupefied when an idea rushing into my mind. I hurried to write it. It's all about how special people we are other than other creatures. We are special indeed because we have the capacity to make our world because we are good by nature. We have the ability to explore our world inside and outside. But unfortunately, some of our brothers and sisters are remained and even being chained to their world of no hope. Their world is in a box. They don't have potential to break the chain that tied them. What is that chain anyway? This is not a metal chain that we mean today. This is the chain that can be found inside of our very being. The chain to refuse to let go, the chain of stability, the chain of unwillingness to change. This is the hardest chain to break because they allow themselves to be comfortable with it. My brothers and sisters we have to work "OUT OF THE PADORAS BOX". Go, you have a dream to fulfill. You have a mission to conquer. Don't live in your dream where hope starts to fade. Don't live in a world of magic. Be out of the Padoras box. Run, and show to the world the best version of your selve. We are more than of what we thin. We are more than of what others think too. Know that we are special and devulge it to the world. Love yourselves as a lovable sons and daughters of God.
