i got this cute beach towel for mother’s day–(those are flip flops!)

and you know me…wanted to add a little SHAZAM to it.

so i bought 6 inches of this fabric…

and made some binding! (you can go HERE to read more about my how-tos in binding)

i thought it would also be cute to just add a strip of ribbon across the bottom..

either way..a little easy way to jazz up your beach towels! now…all we have to do is wait for the weather to get above 70 degrees.

okay. so back when i first got my cameo..i was cheap and didn’t want to spend money on fabric interfacing…(go here to read about it!)

and let me tell you…there is no substitute for this stuff!!!

it’s freakin awesome. it makes it so smooth and it cuts through fabric like paper!!!!

and i’m also totally loving that they have a fabric blade (its the same as the other blade–just a different color so you can keep them separate ..cause once you cut paper it won’t cut fabric nearly as good–so keep two designated as sewing and vinyl/paper.

i wanted to try out both the clean cut and sewable…(clean cut is more for things that don’t have to be washed too often…

i cut out a glue gun for my cameo cover

and one for a project i’m working on–sneak peek–

you basically just cut the fabric you need…cut the interfacing  a little bit smaller and then iron on the bumpy side of interfacing to the back of the fabric. it’s got a white backing that you peel off and then you attach your fabric (right side up) to the mat! then you cut (make sure you click on interfacing on the side of the silhouette studio and it will direct you blade depth!

and the sewable ones are just as easy..just add a stitch so it’s more secure…

my daughter needed to decorate her church binder…and here’s what you do if you can’t decide which fabric to use…

you use them all!

i just measure my binder and made a rectangle that was about 6 inches longer and 1 inch wider…

then i just hemmed up the top and bottom and sides…added the interfacing and then folded over the sides and sewed then in place.

there is no way you could hand cut this fabric and make it look as smooth and nice!!!

think how easy it would be to make a quilt with the silhouette cutting it all out and making sure it’s all even!!!

and then i realized…

yup..you can cut out some awesome design in some pretty fabric…and iron it directly to your wall! oiy! somanyi

moral of this awesome story is that you need some fabric interfacing. NEED…

but i had my kids make these cute personalized tote bags for the grandmas for mother’s day…..

(but keep in mind teacher appreciation–or just for fun!)

i was perusing on expressions vinyl site….and found this photo transfer stuff and i was all….heck YES.

(they even have the tote bags at E.V for CHEAP too!)

the package contains 5 sheets–so the price is right. and there is one for light fabric…and one for dark…(haven’t tried it yet…but you know i will post about it when it comes to pass.)

so i bribed my daughter to draw a picture (seriously…i had to buy her an electronic toothbrush)

KEEP IN MIND: you don’t draw on the paper…you draw on a separate paper and then photocopy.

ALSO KEEP in mind: you photocopy on the non-grid side.

and while your mind is open…keep this as well: your image will be reversed!!!! You iron it face down and that means it will be flipped…so don’t write names–we wanted to write we love grandma…so i hopped on my cameo and wrote it out…right click and flipped it horizontally and printed it out. then cut and pasted on the pictures. THAN photocopied it onto the transfer paper.

crap. i just confused myself and i’m the one who did it.

well..good news for you. the paper comes with instructions!

(you don’t have to draw any images..you can design your own in your silhouette studio…print off a favorite photo…or even your blog logo!)

it just takes a little iron and you have a great custom tote bag!

and my son got a tote at a school field trip…and we JUST watched iron man 3. (and it was AWWWESOME) so this came to pass…

I got the awesome oppurtunity to go to world makert and shop for the man in my life (like the one above in the picture…(insert bum joke) for Father's Day. I had never been in a World Market before—and i was overwhelmed with amazement! so much fun bright stuff!

My objective was to find an awesome present…like these Father's Day Gifts

but my love for little random gadgets is not shared with my husband.

then i started leaning toward patio furniture…i was almost sold on an umbrella…

and then i saw this fun stuff (these plates with the covers are GENIUS!!!!'

but then i realized…i was shopping for myself….so i decided to bring the man with me and make him pick out his own stuff….

and here's what he bought:

(okay..okay…the chocolate is more for me than him…but everything else is his i swear!!!)

i was so excited to get some soda pop that mandy from sugar bee always talks about!

and this roasting rack can be used two ways…

we couldn't wait until father's day to open up these cool bbq platters– one is for raw meat (it says raw right on it…) and the other one is for the food when it's done–and it's got a silverware holder on the side and a lid. so you can load it up and put it right on the table!

and we call this one the giant flyswatter…

you can cook your fish or your vegtables without making a mess or falling through the cracks of your grill. and the handle comes off why you cook it…so you can just add it on and grab it without burning yourself!

then we enjoyed ourselves!!!!!

its’ a scrapbuster (my fav part)

you just trace and cut

and embellish

you put the paper in the tag and put in the little mouth and clamp down…

smooshes the edges down  nice and flat…

added some grommets to put it through…

put some on cards…

made a thank you set for a book i borrowed from my neighbor that i have had for a year..

these are going to get tied on some baby blankets that i hopefully will make sooner than later…seeing how the babies are birthed already.

slapped one on a scrapbook page

put one on a jar..preferably fill jar with candy before..but i ate it. so just a cute empty jar.

i don’t know about you–but i’m in constant need of a quick thank you to LOADS of people.

(which is probably why i made THESE thank you candy bar wrappers)

but since i still had some close to my heart paper left (go HERE to enter to win your own!!!

i made these on my cameo.

i just drew a square (there is a button on the left hand side)

then i grabbed a scalloped edge from my store..

right clicked and released compound path and removed all those half circles

then i matched it right under the rectangle and used my knife (also on the left) to slice the extra off

then i right clicked again and pushed weld (after i dragged a box over both images) that weld button is becoming a fast friend. play around with it..you will become bff’s too!

then i used rebekah’s font…which is one of my favorite and changed the colors. i WAS going to print directly onto the paper…but the paper has embossing on it and it doesn’t hold the color so i just printed it on white paper–then cut out the scalloped rectangles and then just assembled it…(folding the rectangle down and stapling!)

fill up with your favorite treat and you are good to go!

you can even use it for other things…

i hopped on picmonkey and made a couple printables for those of you that don’t have cutters!!!!
