Option under Income Tax Section 115BAC – Old vs. New Tax Regime

Section 115BAC of the Income Tax Act, 1961 inserted by the Finance Act 2020 has introduced a new income tax regime that comprises a significant change in the tax slabs rates. Taxpayers have been provided with an option whether they want to pay taxes according to the existing regime.

1. Old Tax Regime:

Under the Old regime, the tax shall be calculated considering all deductions and exemptions allowed under Income Tax Act, 1961, which were hitherto available. The slab rates are mentioned in table below.

2. New Tax Regime:

Under the New Tax Regime, tax shall be calculated as per the slab rates as mentioned in table below. In this regime, the tax rates are kept lower but no exemptions/deductions are allowed.

13^th October, 2023 (Friday) - Antyodaya Diwas.

World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October. The event was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo as a means to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) creation in 1874. The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the Post’s role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. The theme for World Post Day 2023 is Together for Trust : “Collaborating for a Safe and Connected Future”

Mail Operation

30 DAK NIRYAT KENDRA are functional in Delhi Circle and 129 on boarded customers are sending their articles through these DNKs. These were opened to facilitate the customers availing clearance under Postal Bill of Export.

Business Development

Postal Department has the largest number of Aadhaar Enrollment Kendra (AEKs) in India. Delhi Circle has 236 Aadhaar enabled post office for facilitating customers/public. Such services are to be made available at all Branch Office (BOs) level in future. On 13^th October, 2023 (Antyodaya Diwas), Delhi Circle is celebrating as Maha Login Day in Aadhaar.
Delhi Circle has 5 POPSKs doing passport and Police Clearance Certificate. We are planning to do the appointment double in future.
2,755 bulk Customers are availing premium services (SP/Biz. Parcel/Logistics/ Magazine Post/etc.) in Delhi Circle. The services of booking of Magazine Post have been extended w.e.f. October, 2023 and all the circles can now book Magazine Post meant for delivery PAN INDIA. Earlier such services were limited.
Special arrangements for booking, dispatch, delivery and monitoring of Speed Post Insured Articles of EO/AO and APFC posts in EPFO Examination-2023, NDA/NA & CDS Examination, CBSE, SSC, IGNOU, NIOS, NIELIT and Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are done. 320 GeM Sellers onboarded and revenue 27,26,689/- achieved till 31.08.2023.

PHILATELY

We have a Philately Bureau at Sansad Marg Head Post Office, now a “Philately Gallery” at Red Fort has also been opened for general public. Experiencing massive footfall of visitors and foreign tourists since its opening.
During the National Postal Week-2023, on the Philately Day i.e. 11-10-2023, various workshops and seminars are being organized by all postal units of Delhi Circle to create buzz among the students about Philately as a fascinating hobby. Apart from this, Delhi Circle is also planning to issue few special covers on Philately Day.

Postal Life Insurance

Postal Life Insurance is the oldest life insurance provider in the country. Delhi Postal Circle is having 142763 Postal Life Insurance and 18264 Rural Postal Life Insurance policies. During the present financial year, 3490 PLI and 674 RPLI insurants have been added. A special campaign “ Dak Community Development Programme (DCDP)” is being organized by all Units of Delhi Circle on monthly basis to reach out at door step of residents for promoting the various Govt. beneficiary schemes in collaboration with State Govt. offices and local public representatives etc. During last month, thousand of girls, women, unbanked citizens etc. availed various services through this platform in their locality itself.

Financial Services

Department of Posts provides National Savings Schemes facilities viz., SB, RD, TD, KVP, NSC, MIS, SCSS, SSA, PPF and MSSC. Besides, Department also provide Jan Suraksha Schemes viz., Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojna (APY). All the contemporary banking services are offered by Department of Posts viz., ATM, Core Banking Services, Net Banking, Mobile Banking etc.

Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC)

For women empowerment, a new scheme Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023 (MSSC) was launched by the Government vide notification dated 31.03.2023. Till date 18,08,710 accounts to tune of Rs. 11546 Crores have been opened across the country and 33,154 accounts to tune of Rs. 405 Crores have been opened in Delhi.

Special Initiative for opening Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts by Delhi Circle

Delhi Circle took an initiative towards the social reform for building financial capability of girl children by opening SSA accounts of all girl children under “Sampoorna Sukanya Samraddh School” by Delhi Postal Circle.

Department of Posts whole heartedly embracing the concept of Cleanliness in Special Campaign 3.0

The Department of Posts is continuing its “whole of country wide” efforts on Swachhtta as part of the Special Campaign 3.0 covering 1.60 lakh post offices in its network. The implementation phase of the Special Campaign 3.0, being coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances for the Government of India focuses on space management, workplace environment improvement and service experience enhancement for employees and citizens across various touchpoints and channels.

The implementation phase, formally launched by the Department with a Synchronized National Plantation Drive on October 2nd at 11:00 AM, is now in full steam implementation, with the following major targets in view:

Resolution of 72,000 public grievances,
Creation of 852 wall arts to promote local flavor of the nationwide network with focus on the theme of Swachhta
Review and possible weeding out of 72,468 files
165 high visibility sites to supplement the basic Swachhta protocol adherence across the entire network

In first week of the campaign, achievements include resolving 21,547 public grievances, cleaning 17,449 identified sites, and generating around Rs 17,00,000/- revenue from scrap disposal. Approximately 1 lakh sq. ft. of space is expected to be freed, with some circles repurposing it for creches and recreation clubs.

The Department of Posts is moving forward to discover new levels of service quality and standards that can be achieved starting with the basic premise of Swachhta as the starting point for quality assurance through its people, processes, digital platform and the physical network. It would be interesting to see the achievements by 31 October 2023 through this relentless and untiring teamwork by its committed contingent of “Dak Sewaks” at levels and layers of its service network.

The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, in collaboration with the All India State Government Employees Federation, is escalating their phased agitation in support of seven demands. This includes a mega rally on November 3, 2023, in New Delhi, aiming for record participation. Key demands include scrapping the New Pension Scheme, regularization of contract workers, and halting privatization. Each affiliate has a participation quota, and leaders urge surpassing previous turnout. Financial contributions from affiliates are crucial. The rally symbolizes employee unity and determination in achieving their goals, potentially reshaping the labor landscape in India.

Dear Comrades,

In continuation of the Confederations earlier circular dated 6-9-2023, If is again reiterated that the Confederation along with the All India State Government Employees Federation is conducting phase wise agitation/programmes in support of seven Demands, as per Declaration of the joint National Convention held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium on 6th December 2022. Currently, State level Convention Seminars are being held everywhere, vehicle jathes are taken out either jointly with AISGEF whereever it is possible or separately by the respective organisations. A mega Rally is scheduled to be held on 3rd November 23 at Ramlila Maiden, all out efforts have to made by all the affiliates or Confederation, State COCS to make the Rally, an historic one terms or the number or participants . Already a Rally on single issue or “SCRAP NPS AND RESTORE OPS“, was held on the same venue on 10th August ,under the banner or JFROPS (NJCA), of which Confederation was a major Constituent and actively participated in the rally.

The seven points Charter of Demands in pursuant of which the agitations are going on, and the rally is to be held, are as under ;

1. Annul PFRDA act, Scrap NPS, Restore OPS.
2. Regularise Contractual/Outsourced/Dally waged employees including Health, Education & Postal GDS; fill up all the Vacancies in Central/State Government Departments & PSUs , urgently.
3. Stop privatisation/corporatisation or PSUs and Downsizing of Government Departments.
4. Ensure Democratic Trade union rights; Review the derecognition order’s of NFPE, AIPEU Group C & ISROSA
5. Abandon National Educational Programme.
6.Constitute 8th Central Pay Commission; Release the Pending/Impounded DA/DR for Eighteen Months (from 1-1-20 to 30-6-21).
7. Remove all Rider’s/Restrictions on Compassionate Employment Assistance Scheme.

The quota fixed for various organisations for the 3rd November 23 rally to be organised at RamIlia Maldan.on the call of Confederation and AISGEF. are as under :-

5. EPF : 500
6. ALL OTHER AFFILIATES:: MINIMUM 50

All the affiliates of Confederation have the daunting task of rising up to the occassion. and their leadership should leave no stone unturned to reach out to each and every member explain them the demands and circumstances under which we are agitating, mobilize the rank and file, for participating en mass in the 3rd November 23 rally and make it a grand Success .It should be ensured that participation of member’s from the Confederation must be more than, that was in the previous rally of 10th August . respective organisations must do their level best to fulfill the quota allotted to them .

State COCs of Delhi and adjoining state’s have to play a major role in mobilizing the rank and file and bringing them for the Rally, as compared to the other states, wherein it would be difficult to bring members in large numbers, owing to various reasons .

Remittance of Quota :: As stated in previous circulars , it is again reiterated that the financial position of the Confederation is very weak , and without fund’s no movement or organisation can be effectively run , huge expenses would be incurred on the proposed program of rally and other activities of the Confederation . General Secretaries of ail the State COCs/All affiliates of the Confederation, are once again requested to kindly remit their “Due quota” of previous year’s,if not paid and the quota for the year of 2023 latest by the 20th October , so that functioning of the organisation could be carried out smoothly and in better way

An online meeting of the National Executive Committee of Confederation would be held, soon to review the ongoing campaign programme and also the financial position of the Confederation .

Updation of Circulars/Guidelines/Manuals – CVC Circular No. 16/09/2023. Central Vigilance Commission Circular No. 16/09/23, dated 6th October 2023, instructs government organizations to update their Circulars/Guidelines/Manuals. The Commission initiated a three-month preventive vigilance campaign from 16th August 2023 to 15th November 2023. One area of focus is the “Updation of Circulars/Guidelines/Manuals.”

Collaborating with the Department of Expenditure (DOE), the CVC has updated manuals on procurement of goods, works, and consultancy & other services. Organizations were advised to align their procurement manuals with the updated DOE manuals. They must submit a status report on the updation/alignment by 30th October 2023. Organizations yet to update their manuals should specify their target date for compliance.

The Commission vide its Circulars dated 02.08.2023 & 11.09.2023 has advised the organizations to undertake a three months’ campaign (16th August 2023- 15th November 2023) focusing on various preventive vigilance measures. One of the focus areas indicated by the Commission relates to “Updation of Circulars / Guidelines / Manuals”.

2. It may be noted that D/o Expenditure (DOE) in collaboration with the Central Vigilance Commission has updated and released the manuals on (i) Procurement of Goods, (ii) Procurement of Works and (iii) Procurement of Consultancy & Other Services.

3. Vide Commission’s Circular No. 14/07/22 dated 11.07.2022, all CEOs and CVOs of Central Govt. organizations were advised to align their own procurement manuals/guidelines with the provisions of updated manuals issued by DOE. Later on, DOE vide its OM dated 04.08.2022 and D/o Public Enterprises (DPE), vide their letter dated 10.08.2022 also advised the ministries, departments and public sector enterprises to bring their procurement manuals/guidelines in sync with the updated manuals of DOE, released on 01.07.2022.

4. The status report about updation/alignment of manuals of respective organisations, in line with DOE’s updated manuals may be furnished to the Commission latest by 30.10.2023. In case of those organisations who have not yet updated their manuals, the target date by which it would be done, may also be intimated.

(Drastic decrease in unregistered personal handwritten letters is a serious concern for the Posts while celebrating National Postal Week)

Normally, I open my office at about 9.15 AM to enable my staff members to maintain the working hours from 09.30 AM to 5.30 PM. But just before the normal business hour, when the MTS opens the public entrance of the office, I have been marking a peculiar incident for last five months since my joining here in this Post Office. As soon as the gate is opened, a man about 55 years of age wearing dirty pant / shirt, having unshaven beard on the face and uncombed grey hairs on the head rushes into the public area. First of all, he goes to the water filter and takes a glass of water and then comes to the Stamp Counter. He then asks for one or two Post Cards or Inland Letter Cards as per his requirement. On receipt from the counter, he then goes to the public writing desk and starts writing letters in the same Post Card(s) / Inland Letter Card(s). Within 15 to 20 minutes, he finishes the job and leaves the post office putting the letters in the outside letter boxes in a hurry.

Hardly, there will a day when he has not attended the Post Office. Witnessing this regular event, I couldn’t suppress my curiosity. To satisfy my inquisitiveness, I requested him one day come to my chamber. When he attended, briefly conveying my observations for last 5 months, I asked him “Due to rapid growth of Information Technology, when we witness people to hardly purchase Post Cards / Inland Letter Cards etc. now a day on one hand and when people want instant communication and response from other side through mobile, internet and different social media on the other, I am surprised that you are writing and posting two / three letters regularly. Are you writing to your family members or anybody else?”

“No Sir”, he replied, “I have no family. I am a bachelor and belong to the district of Mayurbhanj. Due to continuous torture of my step mother, I could not complete my B Sc and left my village at the age of 21 and started working in a private Aluminium factory here in Bhubaneswar. I also completed my C T course privately. But could not get any Govt. job. While working in the factory, I met a major road accident with serious injury in my right leg and partially lost my hearing capacity. The factory owner fired me out. Since then I wandered here and there in search of a job. A small hotel owner engaged me in cleaning utensils in his hotel and since then I am working and staying there. Now I am 57.” Swiftly telling me at a stretch, he showed me his right leg which has been bent below the keen and causing difficulty in normal walking.

Expressing grief, I enquired, “To whom then you are writing letters regularly?”

“Earlier when I had money with me, I was writing to the Presidents and Prime Ministers of various countries of the world. Since my income has been very low and now I am unable to afford the cost of postage to foreign countries, presently I am writing to the professors, vice-chancellors and other high dignitaries of different universities”, he replied very normally. I became more curious to know the contents of his writings. With every politeness, I just asked, “If you don’t take it otherwise, may I know the theme of your writings to such high dignitaries?” He was worried, I marked and in a hurry to leave the post office. I told, “If you have any objection or if you don’t want to share, then you may not discuss.”

“That is not the issue, Sir”, he replied. “I have come here finishing all the morning works in the hotel. My work will again start from 10 AM. If I will be late, my owner may drive me away from the job”. Immediately, I changed the topic and requested him to attend his job. “We may talk on some other day”, I told.

“No Sir”, since you have asked me with so much anxiety, “I will tell”, he emotionally told me. “I have also gone to other post offices. But many people treat me as a mad. Some have even handed over me to police and ordered me not to enter their premises. Nobody has ever tried to understand me”. I marked drops of tears in his eyes. I also became sentimental. Tightly holding his palms, I requested him to continue.

He started, “While I was a student in MPC College, Baripada in the district of Mayurbhanj during 1983, I became associated with the Hindu spiritual movement of Brahma Kumaries which teaches a form of meditation that focuses on identity as souls, as opposed to bodies. I was greatly inspired by their teachings to transcend labels associated with the body, such as race, nationality, religion and gender which aspire to establish a global culture based on what it calls Soul-consciousness. Sir, I had an ambition to be a teacher and to educate people of the world for bringing spiritual consciousness. But unfortunately, I am now working in a road side hotel from dawn to dusk to feed my belly.” In a sensitive mood he continued, “Finding no other alternative to share my knowledge what I have gained from the Brahma Kumaries, I took the shelter of your post cards and inland letter cards, Sir.”

Gladly he said, “The post card is my best friend now. It is the poor man’s best medium of communication. I use the same for sharing the ethics of Brahma Kumaries to achieve the goal of establishing a new world characterized by honesty, sincerity and goodwill. When I write on the post card, I feel as if I am in a class room and writing on a black board. When I drop a post card in your letter box, I feel that I educate one person of the world. At a cost of Re.0.50 only, I share my knowledge to aware the people on spiritual consciousness from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Only for your Department, I have been able to write continuously as such since 1983.

Being depressed, he told, “When I have to write more, I hardly depend on an Inland Letter Card. But it is too difficult now on my part to sacrifice Rs.2.50/- . So I use postcards often. I am in search of Meghdoot Post Cards which will cost me less. Kind request to arrange for me Sir”.

I was about to ask him if he has received any response against such letters posted to numerous people of the world, he left my office in a hurry. I just looked at him. When we are dreaming of a digital India and now to digitize India Post turning our back to the handwritten letters, such customers still remind us about the importance of such letters may be in a Post Card.

Really he was a mad, a mad for letters, a mad for sharing knowledge, a mad for bringing spiritual consciousness among the people and a mad for establishing a new world full of peace through postcards. It compelled me to remind the statement of Lord Dalhousie, the father of India Post in his Minute dated 30th December, 1851. “It makes the Post Office what under any other system it never can be the unrestricted means of diffusing knowledge, extending commerce and promoting in every way the social and intellectual improvement of the people.”

The entire world celebrates the World Post Day on 9th October every year to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) creation in 1874 (9th October, 1874) with a purpose to bring awareness to the Post's role in the everyday lives of people and businesses as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. The World Post Day 2023 is being celebrated under the theme “Together for Trust: Collaborating for a Safe and Connected Future” which resonates with the unity and strength of global postal network. A trustworthy and impactful postal system can be possible when the countless post offices worldwide will function with creativity, wisdom and unity. In a world where connections are paramount, the shared progress by embracing collaboration and unity can strengthen the bonds of trust.

At this moment, India Post celebrates National Postal Week starting from 9th October every year by organizing its own national activities from the introduction or promotion of new postal products and services to the organization of open days at post offices, mail centres and postal museums. Apart from celebrating World Post Day on 9th October, this year 10th October will be celebrated as Vitiya Sashaktikaran Diwas, 11th October as Philateli Day,12th October as Mails and Parcels Day and 13th October as Antodaya Diwas. India Post, the largest postal network in the world having 159251 post offices is still providing cheap and efficient postal services to the poor nationals from Kashmir to Kanyakumari despite all challenges through a postcard @ Re.0.50, an inland-letter-card @ Rs.2.50 and an envelope @ Rs.5/- only. Due to advancement of Information and Communication Technology and larger use of eMail and social media like facebook, twiter, instagram, WhatsApp etc., the quantum of handwritten ordinary letters through postcards, inland-letter-cards and envelopes which are the body and soul of the Posts has been reduced drastically. Illustratively, during last 30 year, the quantum of unregistered mails has been reduced from 3123 crores in 1991-92 to 388.29 crores (12.43%) in 2021-22 which is a serious concern for India Post. During celebration of National Postal Week, priority may be given to motivate the members public towards handwritten letters which carry the love, emotion, agony, ecstasy from person to person and help the Posts to stay relevant as a trustworthy and impactful organization.

How You Can Find Stress Relief

We all have heard of the harmful effects stress can have on our lives. Although we can never totally eliminate stress, we must be able to manage stress, and find stress relief, especially the prolonged stress which will indeed cause many ill effects on your health.

In many ways we can eliminate much of our stress by the way we perceive things. There are many things in life in which we have little or no control over. Things such as traffic jams and the way others act. If we react to these things in a way that adds stress to our lives many of our bodily functions shut down and prevent our bodies from keeping ourselves healthy and youthful.

Much of our stress can be relieved by the way we perceive things. In many cases we are stressed out by things we have no control over. If we can do something about a situation then we should act on it to resolve the problem. If the situation is out of our control, we would be better off just accepting it for what it is and focus our attention on something more pleasant or something that will enhance our day and our lives.

The body reacts to stress by producing a flood of chemicals that shut down important but not vital functions to survival. This constant supply of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline and the suppression of growth hormones and other healing hormones that help your body heal after stress, will damage your body and have a negative effect on your health over time.

Some ways you can control the amount of stress you encounter is to monitor a few things about the so-called stressful situation you are in. Firstly, ask yourself, am I in control of the situation that is upon me. Like I said earlier if the situation is beyond your control, you must let it go. If there is something you can do about the situation then you must be in action and do something to resolve it.

Secondly you could identify to what extent your stress is the result of your interpretation of the situation, which in fact, relates to your beliefs and judgments. If you are caught up in the story of “this always happens to me” or are you always trying to prove something to yourself to reinforce a limiting belief you have about yourself or others. This can be a harmful cycle in which you will always generate unwanted stress in your life. Pay attention to see if the same situations come up and you get stressed out about similar things. Awareness to our beliefs and judgments can open doors to freedom within our consciousness.

The third thing that one can do is to learn to consciously adjust your reaction to what is happening in our lives. Learn to be calm in situations, to be focused and powerful in dealing with stressful issues. When we react all the time we are not in control and not being in control can add to feelings of recklessness. An out-of-control feeling is definitely a situation which can cause stress.

Besides the few perceptive ways to deal with stress just mentioned one can also start a program which will be more proactive and help you put your mind and body in a state that more readily handles situation as they arise. Proactive stress management techniques can be addressed with knowledge. Through personal development books or courses that teach you to be in more control of your life and to accept others for who they are, you can eliminate about fifty percent of your stress.

There are also courses in anger management if you feel you have an issue with anger. Many times, anger is the end result of other emotions such as disappointment, jealousy, fear, or other emotions. Not being able to communicate this in a healthy manner and really understanding your emotions can lead to anger in almost any area of your life. The recognition of these emotions and the ability to communicate them to yourself and others can be a big stress releaser and put you in better control of your emotions and your life.

Of course, eating well and exercising help your body to deal with stress. The release of good hormones through things such as yoga, aerobic, meditation, breathing exercising or weight lifting greatly help your body deal with stress, firstly by having a means to release the stress through the physical activity and secondly these activities enable the body to produce the healthy endorphins and healing hormones into your body.

Other ways to reduce stress is to engage in something you love to do. Get your mind off the situation that is causing you stress. By having a hobby that you just love to do such as gardening, sports, playing a musical instrument or whatever gets your mind focused on something you love. Usually something creative opens you up a totally different space within you.

And of course, my two favourite things to relieve stress, laughter and good supportive friends. Go see a funny movie or go out with supportive friends to a comedy club. Spend good quality time with them and share your love, don’t complain about your stressful situation unless you discuss it to find possible ways of resolving the situation and then end the conversation and have some fun.

Listen, stress can kill you and the more and more scientist explore this issue the more and more they know that almost all disease can manifest from stress and ill thoughts. Choose to deal with stress in a positive way. Find the way to incorporate stress relief practices into your life and help you mind; body and spirit live a healthier more fulfilled life.

National Postal Week starts from 09th October 2023

As you are aware that Department of Posts (DOP) celebrates National Postal Week every year, starting with World Post Day (Sth of October) on anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874. The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness about the post.s role in the everyday life of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global , social and economic development . This year's World Post Day them is Together For Trust'.

2. This year, the celebrations of National Postal Week have been designed in line with the emerging role of India Post in the socio and economic development of the nation. With focus on as Vittiya Sashaktikaran, Mail & Parcel Services like DNK, ONDP, tie up with Amazon and other retailers, bouquet of services for Antyodaya, National Postal Week 2023, activities are designed to inform and educate the last mile user, MSMEs and artisans about the changing role of post offices as one stop solution for delivery of services.

3. Following is the schedule for the celebration of World Post Day & National Postal Week 2023:

9th Oct 2023 (Monday)- World Post Day

10th Oct 2023 (Tuesday)- Vittiva Sashaktikaran Diwas

11th Oct 2023 (Wednesday- Philately Day

12th Oct 2023 (Thursday)- Mails and Parcels Day

13th Oct 2023 (Friday)- Antyodaya Diwas

4. The following activities have been planned/ proposed in this connection at Circle level.

i. Spruce-up and clean all Post Offices, mail offices and administrative offices. Removing of old hoardings/outdated notices to give a neat & clean look.

ii. Firm up various activities for Posta] week and contact schools for organizing events for children during Postal week informing them about new services of Post Offices .

iii. Plan and make arrangements for organizing Dak Community Development Program (Dak Choupal) events

iv. All Circle will prepare 5 videos (one video about an overview of the Circle and its intiatives,2 videos on customer testimonials, and 2 videos on postal employees/achievers, testimonials) and will share those with the marketing division by the 25th of September 2023.

5. Day-wise Activities :

5.1 World Post Day (9th Oct 2023, Monday):

(i) Display the UPU World Post Day poster and banner of National Postal Week 2023 (to be supplied by the Marketing Division) in all post offices and in all digital displays available in the post offices.

(ii) Press interactions at Circle and Regional Headquarters, highlighting National Postal Week and events planned. Special focus should be on the latest products and services like Dak Niryat Kendra, collaboration with ONDC, Amazon, Aadhaar and other citizen centric services available at postal counters.

(iii) Livestreaming of UPU event on Social Media handles of Circle and Regions.

5.2 Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas (10th Oct 2023, Tuesday):

(i) Dak Community Development Program( Dak Choupal) to be organized by Circles, at least one in each division at grand scale with aclive participation of all stakeholders from central, state and local government

(ii) POSB Quizzes may be organized for the customers, agents, GDS, departmental staff, officers, etc. on this day.

(iii) Circles should put out a press release on the total outreach held during the day and how India Post is helping in financial inclusion of the remotest areas in the circle.

5.3 Philately Day: (11th Oct, 2023 Wednesday):

(i) Arrange interactive session at Schools for DHAI AKHAR - “Digital India For New India”.

(ii) Quiz & other activities should be arranged at maximum possible locations,

(iii) Seminars be arranged for Philatelists to promote Philately and provide PR to the event

5.4 Mails and Parcels Day (12th Oct 2023, Thursday):

(i) Customer Meet for bulk customers may be organized at Circle, Regional and Divisional level to inform customers about the new initiatives taken under Parcel Tracker and obtain their feedback on the services offered.

(ii) Workshops with Postmasters and delivery staff posted in field units (Delivery post offices/Nodal Delivery Centre) may be conducted through VC/physical mode by all Divisional Heads/Sub Divisional Heads on awareness to improve delivery efficiency. The focus will be on 100% delivery attempt on the day of receipt of parcels at Delivery Post Offices/NDCs, awareness about correct and effective utilization of Postman Mobile App by delivery staff, awareness about delivery of parcels at the doorsteps of the addressee by the delivery staff.

5.5 Antyodaya Diwas (13th Oct 2023, Friday):

(i) A seminar may be organised by each Circle where the officers of various Departments of respective State Governments dealing with the matters/schemes related to the upliftment of poor, marginalised and backward sections of the society shall be invited for a panel discussion.

(ii) Awareness cum Aadhar enrolment and updation camps be organized in ruraliremote areas and urban slums.

(iii) People be made aware about availability of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Social Security Pensions, Jan Suraksha Scheme (PMJJY, PMSBY, APY), Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts, AePS and other products and services of the Department of Posts.

(iv) Financial literacy campaign may be carried out to adopt safety measures while doing digital payments and to avoid online frauds.

(v) These camps shall be organized in rural areas, remote areas, urban slums, underdeveloped areas and undeveloped areas.

(vi) CSC Services enrolment - PM Kisan Registration, Ayushman Bharat, Shram Shakti Yojana, PM Jan Suraksha Schemes,

(vii) Delivery of PM Vishwakarma Certificates to beneficiaries

(vii) IPPB - GAG Policies for workers through institutional selling to factoriesivorkshop owners, business owners for their workers.

6. The list of activities given is only indicative and Circles may consider launching any additional significant activity during this period. Wide publicity may be given to the various events organised during this week through print, electronic and social media.
