Busy, Busy, Oh So Busy !

I feel like Lilas due date is fast approaching and Avas "ONLY CHILD" lifestyle is going to be gone before we know it. Ive been making up for it in taking her places almost EVERY day.
Last week consisted of a Pull Up Party Dance at the Mall Of America where she dressed up with Boas, bibbity boppity booed Addison with a star wand, and of course Shook her GROOVE thing to the band that was playing. This will FOREVER be known as Ava's first concert. Apparently the guy that sings the potty dance song is a real touring artist.. who would have thunk it?!?! She was so funny doing her dancing and clapping. It took her a bit to get in to it but once she was going she was hard core ;)

We hit up the Childrens Museum.. which is ALWAYS a hit. Im SO happy that I purchased the yearly pass. I found a great steal on it on savvy source I believe last September? I think it was 50 bucks.. well when you pay almost 10 bucks a person per time it QUICKLY paid off.. I am SO purchasing another one regular full price or my favorite more then half off when I need to renew it.

Aves played in the Lego room with the big blocks and found a new friend that was her same age. It was sooo cute to see her play with someone her exact age. We went to the "craft" room not sure if that's what its really called but they always have crafts going on.. it was cut and paste this week.. she didn't cut anything but I did load up her paper with a bunch of glue and they had tons of stuff pre cut of different textures that she made a collage with. She also did her favorite, easel painting.

Then we ventured to the gears and water table, ALWAYS a hit. Followed by a quick stop on the "city bus" and the grocery store. And we even sat through storytime until I couldn't sit on the floor anymore, and she made a mad dash to the fire pit room, not sure what room this is but that's what I am calling it this month because the fake fire smells like a real fire!

Tony finished up a really awesome shelf in the garage to hold all of our garage items. It was supposed to be warmer then what it was this last weekend so we were a bit disappointed when it really didn't get above 20. Which made the project that longer then expected.

Ava and I did some returning of items and scoped out some fish and pets and a pet store near Rosedale, and used our GREAT 25 dollar of 50 dollar coupon text code from the gap. I love their toddler jeans and when you are paying 10 dollars for a pair AND you get to use them through 2 kids you feel better about it! HAHAHAH

Today we had Avas "little" girlfriends over , the ones that are younger then her, for lunch. Ava plays REALLY well with most age groups and its interesting to see how giving she is to others. She seems to adapt really well to older and younger kids, at this point.
She shared her baby snow white then quickly realized later she didn't want to share it any more. She liked giving the girls Mister Potato heads to play with and they all did really well giving and taking.
Ava was chasing Greta and vice versa around the kitchen island it was SO cute. Greta would crawl away and Ava would crawl after her or she would run depending which mode of transportation she chose at that time. We made a light lunch of salad and lasagna :D mmmmmmm Lasagna! And just had playdate/mom talk.

Oooh I also forgot we did some threading of breakfast cereal and finger painting with shaving cream. The cereal didn't last long, she figured out she could eat it. We only got 4 circles in :D

29 weeks and my birthday!

WOWZERS! Some how I got behind. Between work and then my husbands unplanned WHOLE birthday WEEK I just got swamped.
Last Friday Lila turned 29 weeks in my belly ;)
Shes pretty crazy in there... Much more then I remember Ava being
::Im scared already:: Ha! But in a good way. Promise.
Of course I got stuck in Las Vegas for an extra day, and DIDN'T get any In N Out. How horrible is THAT?!?!
Tony cleaned the house from top to bottom, which is nice to come home to since I did the same before I left. However it just gets trashed the next day with toys, sippy cups and snacks. Ehh whatever.
So Monday was shot.
The week consisted of a pedicure and a gyro, my Clarisonic facial brush landing on my door step, daily family outings, My mom and sister in town and getting to do baby shopping with them, not for me, for her, and my friend Cyndi surprising me with some flowers, yaaaaa flowers since my other ones were slowly dying anyways, some homemade maple syrup (I think her dad? made it), the clarisonic facial wash ANNNNNNND a Blizzard... what?!?!? THANKS SO MUCH. It was crazy I totally wasn't expecting it. The whole week was great!

Saturday after the girls afternoon out, Tony and Ava purchased some crafting supplies and we made family bracelets or necklaces.
Ava made her own necklace.. she got to choose her beads in any order, I put them on the string since it was kind of tedious and her chubber little fingers probably couldn't get in there anyways HA!

So needless to say it was a fun time! Lots of laughter, mostly them laughing at me ;) but it was all in good times!

Tomorrow I have my 3 ( really its 4-5 hour) hour glucose test, where I will sit in a chair as they pretty much give me syrup to drink hourly with a blood draw hourly. So I have to fast tonight ::BAH HUMBUG: I hope I don't get the fat girl no food shakes tomorrow after all the sugar drink like I did last time. HA! I almost passed out in the cafeteria.

I guess I will work on recurrent and some magazines I have piling up.

Weekend Recap. (I guess thats what we will call this)

I went to work on Thursday with little to no drama getting to New York, I LOOOOOVE little to no drama commuting!
2 PHX and a fake 3 day with a layover in Boston! Almost NO drama.
Of course it HAD to be drama filled on MY last leg. I say my last leg because I was getting off in Las Vegas as the 2 guys I was working with continued back to JFK. That morning BOS got some snow. My favorite pilot EVER (I say ever because I have known him for about 13 years now I worked with him at RIA before B6) reassured me everything would be cleared up that evening AND IT WAS (again he IS my favorite) of course the flight was a titch late probably due to routing or something, I have no idea I was eating a burrito. The winds were bad, as they had been all week going west bound, and our Capt for the night told us to prepare for a possible landing in DEN. Ummm really?!?! If you cant make it from BOS to LAS without a stop (stopping for extra gas) then you probably shouldnt be a captain... just sayin' However we ended up making it without an extra stop! YAH!!!!
But the push back was far from eventless... apparently there were some words exchanged in the middle of the safety demo with a co-worker/friend and these two DBs NEEDED to get off.. and after I heard what was said and what he was called... there was NO doubt these two got off.. Of course you never know how that will go so when in the middle of the demo he called to prepare for arrival I was kinda annoyed (I was trying to catch a flight and all) but it went off without a hitch and like I said after I found out what happend I was happy they got off.
Of course I missed the 1155pm from LAS to MSP on Suncountry and got bumped from the 1am from LAS to MSP on Delta. Only to be sad and tired in the airport and be picked up by a family friend who brought me to my moms house for a quick nap and refresh and she also dropped me off at the airport in the morning to try and catch other flights (THANKS BONNIE! ) I ended up catching a 10 am but by the time you get home and settled its way passed 4 pm due to the time change and Ive lost the whole day.
- So that was my uneventful, for the most, part weekend-

Friday, Tony was incharge of bringing Ava to her 18 month check up.. She's still a nugget for height at 30.5 inches and 25 lbs for weight. Dr Mark is not concerned with her ANYTHINGs because she follows her "line" as she should. Her vocabulary is good and right at par with her age group as well as skills. If shes not at par shes above in skills, either way she is a healthy toddler :D

My mom came over today for a hair cut and to visit Ava, and to see me :) She agreed I finally looked pregnant which Tony summed up with its only just come to finally looking pregnant about 3 weeks ago... I agreed. Tony went back to bed after Ava had an early awakening 5:15am :/ and I resentfully stayed up.. Honestly after only 8 hours of sleep in 2 nights I think I deserved to be a bit annoyed. (He did say he would stay up but I figured he needed a break after his weekend "alone")
So I was so happy that grandma wanted to visit. We went to walmart, to get a potty teaching chair for Ava and look for a baby doll for the bath. Well between Grams and Ava... they had about 25 MINI babies in the cart and all these random balls. Ava made out like a bandit, I wont lie, and I said NO, to tons of other stuff she wanted to spoil her with, but it was SO much fun.

Other things on our agenda this week range from amazing things like sewing new velcro on our diapers, to Auntie Kate coming to visit and a possible Home and Garden show outting ( I decided I wanted to go) and hopefully SUSHI in Minneapolis, kid free ::crosses fingers::

Oooh and I got the cutest flowers from Tony for birthday week!

Movement: Daily

Sleep: I wake myself up from snoring.. WONDERIOUS and I am tired come 11 and 2 hahah

What I miss: consistent sleep

Cravings: French Fries

Symptoms: Other then weight gain and some one kicking me?!?!? Tiredness

Best Moment this week: Blood pressure is still good.. but hes going to keep watching it, because of the pre eclapmsia from last time. Dr has been checking for swelling already so I feel he is SO much more competent then my last dr.

I failed my 1 hour glucose test so I have to go in for a 3 hour. Why they call it a 3 hour when it takes 4 and a half I will never figure out but.. yes that should be fun. (SARCASM) I had to do it with Ava so I am not super surprised, even though every pregnancy is different. However I would have rather passed (under 130) or Failed (over 200) I came in at 142.. so my GUESS is i am going to piddle around for the 3 hour and pass it like I did with Ava.

Valentines Weekend

We don't FULLY celebrate Valentines day but we do kind of acknowledge it. Since it is on Monday, and chances are we wont see much of each other tomorrow, we did all of our LOVINGNESS this weekend. Friday we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. HA! I really wanted to hit up Old Spaghetti Factory in Minneapolis, I hadn't been to one since 2000 when I lived in California but I knew it would at least be kid friendly. Either way we didn't go there and Tony suggested RL so we went. Well Ava was being a "toddler". This has only recently started. She used to be SO good in restaurants and now its a disaster. Tony obviously hadn't seen this side of her and didn't know what to do. Basically she was kind of loud.. I say kind of because she wasn't screaming or crying just TALKING to herself, AND the baby Snow White. I took her to see the lobsters in the tank, that lasted 3-5 min. Her food was there when we got back. She was NOT interested so we ate as fast as we could and kept her as quiet as we could.
Then if you think our classy night couldn't get any better.. we decided to hit up the kind of sketchy mall by the RL to look at the puppies. There is a pet store there.. and they have all these sad puppies playing around in the glass windows. Once in a blue moon we stop in to see them and Ava gets a little chuckle. However she really likes the fish. Maybe one day her and daddy can have pet fish. I say her and daddy because I REALLY don't want to clean up/feed a fish AT ALL. So that can be their fun! :D We came home and she passed out. I think we watched a movie that night?!?! or Maybe CSI I cant remember now.
Saturday we had another family day. Tony hung the chair rail in Lilas (lie-la)bedroom and Ava and I gave dad her gift to him.

A new ceramic teapot. Its a Bee House Round Teapot. He had mentioned he was interested in a new pot so this seemed like the perfect time. We don't really purchase gifts during Valentines day but this was something he would get anyways so we paired it up. We decided on the ceramic pot because we weren't only going to be brewing one type of tea. The ceramic pot doesn't hold in the other flavors like other pots will. So I let Ava pick the color she picked this taupe color which I was happy with because it matched our dishes. And we got him a few ounces of tea so he could try some. Oh! Our purchases were made at the St Anthonys Village TeaSource! I was super happy with this store and the knowledge of the lady that helped us! We will bring Tony so he can pick out his next few ounces.
Sunday we kind of lounged around and played. Did some marker drawings and then when Tony went in for some overtime we went outside to play. It was 47 here today.. that's CRAZY for February. The news reported that is 20 degrees above average. Its probably good to get some of the snow melted in a slow way because it will help bring the flooding down that is going to happen this spring. Ava splashed in puddles and I shoveled out the gunk from the garage. Then we went on a walk to the next block up. Played in some more puddles and made our way back to the house. We took note of the airplanes and some of the birds, as Ava LOOOOVES to point these out to us. And the whole time she was yelling WAAAATER WAAATER because it was running everywhere.. then she would go run to that puddle and splash in it.. Needless to say when we got home we were wet. We finished up the afternoon with some finger painting and making daddy a Valentines card for when he comes home tonight.

And Some how I missed my appointment.. I rely TOO much on the night before calls.. so now I have to call and set up another appointment. I swear the receptionist lady is NOT very good. With Ava she never actually entered me in to the computer and I would show up and I wouldnt have an appointment. I stopped making appointments at the front desk and just called. Now I get no call the night before. Ugh

Double Digits & The Childrens Museum

Today we arrived in the double digits on Lila's ESTIMATED arrival.
I wouldn't mind to go early. . . Just Sayin'!
It makes me feel better that her room is painted.. because, not that we are procrastinators- because we aren't-, we/ TONY just works a lot of overtime when its offered so we still haven't put up the chair rail. Avas dresser still isn't painted (that has more to do with the SUPER cold weather) and the furniture still isn't set up (again, more to do with the fact we don't want Ava to see the crib and revert back to it) but STILL. Adding to the things we would like to do.. we want to decorate / paint our bedroom... I have a few ideas but nothing I ran by Tony yet I figured this weekend would be good to talk about it.
So with 99 days left on the clock-which seems like a lot but its not- and things piling up... we really need a swift kick, some rest and a prayer ;)

Ava and I met Cyndi, Makena , and Cheeks (Matthew) at the Childrens Museum today. And when I say met .. I say saw each other in the lobby.. then dispersed then saw each other for 4 min then chased our kids then rolled our eyes at the kids attacking our kids.. then saw each other for lunch.. Let me tell you.. if you are looking to catch up with someone the Childrens Museum is NOT the place to do it. We usually go on No Group Tuesdays.. that means NO school groups can come.. I figured we weren't doing anything Thursday how bad could it be? Let me tell you I will NEVER go again when its NOT a Tuesday. Pretty sure Ava got poked in the eye with a jousting stick in the Lego exhibit, had her red rake ripped out of her hands at the sensory table, got attacked, yet again, in the Lego exhibit, ran over, straddled.. you name it, it happened.. WOWZERS! I am so worn out from this morning.. and to top it off apparently the "nap" she took in the car for 20 min on the way home was enough for her??! Well not enough for me.. Mama needs a nap.
I was really happy to see the Japan exhibit gone... and the Lego Kingdom moved it. I felt it was more kid friendly. Things to do etc. I think its great to learn about other cultures but honestly that Japan exhibit wasn't amazing.
So we usually start off in the habitot area.. I feel Ava is kind of out growing this area, we used to be in there 30 min now it was like 10. However she climbed this netting.. I was nervous the WHOLE time!

After this we pretty much went to the Lego room. It was great. They had a toddler area to play with Lego's (ones that they couldn't swallow)

They had a "mini castle with a slide" She made her way up the stairs and slid down, all by herself, when did she become so adventurous?
Played at a build a castle display, and then RAN out of that room it was getting CRAZY!

We had then ventured in to the art room. She played in some Lego Color sensory tubs and painted a picture, which I forgot to pick up before we left, it was drying on the rack :(

On Saturday we took our FREE library passes to the MN zoo...
You might think.. The zoo? In the middle of winter? But there were some things to do. The Tropics, you know the HOT, stinky , indoor part. The aquarium and the Minnesota trail. I think Ava really just liked walking all over and pointing at everything.
She really liked the ducks and the monkeys. She dreaded anytime we tried to put her back in the stroller, good news was it wasn't very busy, so she could walk and we didn't have to worry about strollers attacking her.

25 Weeks!

Its Been Confirmed

Ava has selective hearing (what kid doesn't). We went to a Sing Play Learn Music class through MacPhail at the library today. Ava likes seeing other kids, especially the babies, so it was a great COLD day activity. Ava would stand and watch the other babies and this one kid named Joe, running around the room. You could tell Ava WANTED to be the one running, but she didn't. She got in to the music...did her OBVIOUS white girl dancing and watched the instructor... She listened SOOOOOOo well to her.
They played with the egg shakers.. and they would shake it and shake it and then STOP... and HUH ,Ava would stop... I kind of watched her, because she was a few feet away from me, to see if it was just coincidence.. Hmm nope it wasn't, she knew what STOP was... so why,when you are drawing with marker on your body... or after you took the pen away from the REI guy and are drawing on the chair do you not listen when I say STOP?
So its confirmed. My kid has selective hearing. No Shocker in this house ;)

They played with the parachute and of course when it went all the way up... she was the only nugget piece to run under it like it was all hers! Then she would laugh at the people when they lifted it back up.. and here I thought she was shy.

I have no pictures because I didn't want to be too stalkerish. But maybe next week we will get some pictures, she cracks me up.

Double Strollers, Baby Dolls and Playing Outside!

So I've been pretty obsessed , to say the least, about my strollers. I really liked my Instep Safari for Ava and her Chicco umbrella stroller, So I had/have a lot to live up to. I knew right away when I saw the Joovy Ergo Caboose that I NEEDED to have it. There wasn't even a doubt in my mind. The 400 dollar price tag made me want to throw up. Especially because I would want a jogging stroller for our longer walks and of course I HAD to be looking at a BOB. Well Sometimes I get these CRAZY ideas that I can just fly where ever and pick up a stroller.. So I looked on craigslist for about 2 months and I kid you not, just when I gave up hope, there it was! A Joovy Ergo in Las Vegas... lots of things ran through my mind. Can I get her to hold it for me? Do I tell her I don't live in Nevada, but can be there TOMORROW? It just so happens my mom was home, she lives in Las Vegas, she is NEVER home. She was so quick to go pick it up it was great. Half Price and barely used! SCORE. We ended up buying a purple optional cushion for the stroller as the previous owner didn't use that option but I wanted to make it comfy for the girls, and the seat back on the jump seat would be extended about two inches higher for Ava when shes old enough to use that area.

I went back and forth for about a month on the Bumbleride Indie Twin and a BOB Duallie. The Bumbleride is not a true running stroller, but who am I kidding I'm not going to run, maybe a light jog every now and then but we do go on LOOOONG walks. I finally settled on the Bumbleride basically because I like that each kid gets their own foot spacing, BOB is more of a shared spacing. Its a bit more open so the girls can look around more. It looks pretty :) It comes with the baby bumper bars and the same bar is used for the car seat, so I wouldn't have to purchase something else. I ended up finding it on Ebay saving 200 dollars brand new, I am happy with the price and the decision, so far. Baby on Grand in Hopkins had the twin out so I got to actually see it... Ava really liked it and that's really all that matters. By the way if you are looking at higher end double strollers Baby on Grand in HOPKINS is the place.. I kid you not... the lady took me upstairs to a separate area and they literally had EVERY double stroller to mankind, iCandy, Phil and Teds, Mountain buggy, Orbit. I could go on and on and on and on.

On the quest for trying to actually see the bumbleride. Ava and I ran out to USA baby in Richfield. When we pulled up it was a bit. . . not what I pictured. However a friend of mine, Kim, said that is how she felt but when you get in its totally different.. and Is it ever. Its a really great store and they also have a lot of strollers (not like Baby on Grand in Hopkins) but we didn't know that at the time. They no longer carried the bumbleride in the store only online so me and Ava went to lunch. She was melting and when a toddler melts you quickly find a way to freeze it! Its usually in the form of lunch, a snack or a song. We went to Noodles & Co, this is where the baby dolls come in to play. She is ATTACHED to her baby snow white. Cant go anywhere without it. Runs around the house with it. Feeds it. Wipes it down. Changes her diapers. Its such a mess. So there we were with baby Snow White eating with us. I felt AWESOME. Everyone around was kinda chuckling when Ava wiped her face down after "eating". They thought it was cute.

Sunday night into Monday Late Afternoon it snowed. Since it was above 30ish we put our snow pants on and went out to get the first pass done while dad slept for work. We were outside probably for about 35-40 min then she must have gotten cold fingers and cheeks and started whining so we came in. She really likes being outside and as long as the wind isn't whipping around I don't mind taking her out to play.

Best Moment this week: My belly must have came out in full force because Tony said Ooooh your belly looks bigger today (yesterday) and it does... YA! Healthy Baby!

Ava is 17 months!

And we officially had our first melt down in public.
I kid you not, FULL ON, SCREAMING, KICKING, ROLLING ON THE FLOOR melt down. We were in Menards and she wanted to get out of the cart, I have NO IDEA, how we/why we've been letting her out of the cart. But either way its been happening. She doesn't run and she stays near by, but shes not a hand holder, and likes to push on the bottom rung of the cart where the wheels are. AGAIN I have NO idea when or how this happened it just kind of did. I'm sure it started out cute either with me or Tony and now its a problem. The cart was all salty and dirty and a bit rusty... She didn't like no and that's how it all started.. basically we were THOSE parents. The one with the screaming child in the middle of a friggin store. Oh well. I always thought it was best to just let it all happen and not give it any thought or attention but I think Tony was doing the opposite of me so we were kind of working against each other. ANYWAYS I think she was overly tired which was part of it but it doesn't mean that its ok to not listen.

So Ava, you are 17 months today.
You are a bundle of energy. You love getting in to Mommys bathroom drawers and bringing things out.
Your new favorite is finger nail polish (not opened) I even painted your nail the other day you thought it was SO pretty but you wouldn't let me do any more.You love to play with your Snow White baby. You drag her and your blanket around the house.
You have Mommy and Daddy swaddle your baby and you put her in your stroller and bring her for rides.You like to share your drinks and snacks with your baby (Which is sometimes messy but cute)
You are finally ok with the "dirtiness" that is finger painting.

You've really picked up the vocabulary in the last month. I hear you saying ME a lot more. If you want to do something. More is more often said and signed at the same time now rather then just the sign. You love the word cheese.. and you love cheese in its self. Water,Milk, Doggy, Ball, Fish, Hip Hip Hooray, Oh No, Cow, Bird, Baby ;there are alot more that I am forgetting. But you've really started to carry on conversations with us. Dad and I find ourselves laughing at the conversations alot lately.

Its hard to believe its just going to be the three of us for just a few more short months. I find myself trying to make the most of each day while its just us.

You really enjoy dancing and singing. I would say dancing more then anything. Ive been looking at a tumbling class for you to get your groove on in ;) You love doing head, shoulders, knees and toes... now that you know its not just mommy acting crazy and that your friends do it too.

Weekend (or two) Painting Extravaganza!

We finally decided what Murphy 2.0s room would be painted as.
And since we had done a "few" stripes in Avas room we figured we would be fine.

I should add Tony does ALL of the measurements and the line tape work. I usually do the tape work on wood and rolling the paint out.
It works well for us we both get a break from it and then we get to play with Ava.

So this is our Inspiration picture.

Did you know they list their paint choices- FABULOUS! It made it so much easier in choosing the colors.
However Hiersfields was the only place that carried it so I had to go get the paint chips from them and then we had Home Depot mix the paint for us.

We switched it up a little bit.. I thought too many stripes might be too much for the room.. so from chair rail height down is the dark pink, and everything above that is the alternating stripes!
Last weekend we got done all 4 walls with the two different color pinks and one wall of stripes.
This next weekend will just be a quick striping and then it will be done for painting. We are also adding a chair rail.
I wont lie I looked at it at first and I wanted to throw up. . . PINK is everywhere. We are so NOT pink people; But I think once we start bringing in some teal and green and the furniture it will tone its self down.
Ava calls it "Sisters Room" It was so sweet I had tears in my eyes.

Also Tony did my shelves for the kitchen. I am SUPER happy with those. We were working with a blank LARGE wall.. I'm not one for a lot of "art work" hanging. But I do like pictures of the family and some random stuff... So this wall will end up being a little spot of everything. The top shelf currently has Ava's Valentines day art work she made at Cyndi's when I was at work. I love it its so cute. And fits nice. I cant wait to figure out what will really go on all the shelves.

Excuse the cell phone picture.. but it didn't turn out too bad so I didn't think it was necessary to bring out the Nikon.Also, that black box thing on the bottom. My Christmas present. One of those digital picture frames. We are still waiting for the company to send us the digital card thing. It was supposed to come with it but Tonys work forgot! Oops!

Work weekend

The week leading up to my last work weekend was a bad one. Well not bad. Just I was ready to get the heck outta dodge. Ava had a cold, Tony was sick, and Ava was also getting 4 teeth. I was READY.

Usually by the time I get to NY some kind of disaster has happened. Flights delayed, Weather, Commuting disaster SOMETHING. But No, not this time. I had just missed the crippling Nor Eastern that came through. Got to sleep until 6 am on the commuting day, that never happens, before hopping on Delta, FIRST CLASS none the less, and making it to the apartment with 4 hours to spare.

I do have to say I worked with some real PEACHES this weekend. One is always a snooty brat, but I tried to be nice but that didn't work. The other 3 flights I had friends that I usually always fly with which is great. Everything goes smoothly no hiccups. Lots of laughter. Just the way I like it. Only one throw up issue. Yep a sleeping adult in 3F. He didn't even wake up from sleeping when he did it. BLECK! I couldn't linger long I almost tossed my cookies on top of his rack of lamb. Yes, he told the other flight attendant what he ate. REALLY? Just gross.

I ended up becoming homeless in the D gate of Las Vegas Sunday night until Monday morning. Dragging around a stroller I got a sweet deal on! I have never seen people stare so much hahah I think its because I had my luggage in the front seat and my coat and tote bag in the back seat. They were probably looking where the kids were.

Ava was at CyndiCare :) this was the first time we left her some where that wasn't one of us or the Grandmas. Tony was working days and dropped her off at 6am! She usually doesn't get up till 7am so I was nervous. Not for Ava, but for Cyndi. She watched her 2 kids that day and our peanut shell. The girls were good. Cyndi said they played nice and Matthew slept all morning. I was mad that I wasn't home at 6am ish as planned but Ava being at Cyndis made me more at ease. Even though I probably texted her I AM SOOOO SORRRY at least half a dozen times.

I am pretty lucky that 1. I found someone I trust with Ava and loves her almost as much as we do. 2. That is fun to hang out with in just MOMMY world ;) and 3. Lives up the street!

Tony has been working Days this week.. we are LOVING it. I wish my Monday commute didn't ruin the beginning of the week. I like that we actually get to eat dinner together and that Tony is here to help with Ava during the harder part of the day. We totally get him for 3.5-4 hours during day shift where as during 2nd shift we only get him for an hour or 2 and most of that might be Ava napping or him just waking up. And we definitely don't get him for Lunches or Dinners.

This weekend we are starting to paint Murphy 2.0s room. I'm really excited but I hope we aren't being to over ambitious. Pictures to follow this weekend I'm sure! :D We most likely wont move the crib back up for a bit. Although I don't think Ava would have a reverse effect at all. Toddler bed transition went really well especially after she wasn't sick any more! So maybe the crib WILL be setup!?!?!?

What I miss: Sushi specifically a restaurant called I Love Sushi in Las Vegas. I woke up literally tasting it yesterday.

Cravings: None this week. Some reason when I work I just eat what is available

Best Moment this week: I saw a girl with the City Mini Double stroller in the airport in JFK. I now THINK that will be my next stroller purchase. HA Im sure that will change when I am back to looking at the black BOB Duallie 12 AW.
I also think I figured out what I want to do in her room I have to run it by Tony though... I was on the plane when I saw a picture of it.

Chickens, Lizards & Little Girls! OH MY!

On Tuesday Ava and I headed out to Wild Rumpus in Minneapolis.
Awhile ago I had purchased a HEAVILY discounted Children's Museum pass on Savvy source, and through that I got some referrals. I ended up with quite a few referral dollars but nothing ever really catches my eyes. So when I saw a book store that wasn't TOO far away. I figured ok that's fine. The deal was 5 dollars for a 10 dollar credit. It allowed me to purchase 5 Max. So I got the max and called it a day. Well most of these offers have expiration dates.. of course I used it THE DAY before it expired. None the less, Ava got some pretty cool books.

I had heard about this bookstore its SO cute! The main door is a large wood door and built in there is a small teal children's door. We used it on the way out not the way in :D
They have TONS of animals roaming the store. I honestly figured it was just a gimmick and when we got there it would be the day they weren't there, or something silly like that. Nope we walked in and were greeted by a HUGE lizard which Ava screeched and ran at with her hands up, 3 Cats which Ava later would attack and Meow at, birds chirping in the background and 3 CHICKENS. Yes, that's right CHICKENS! I thought she would be afraid, like she always is, but today she surprised me, she walked right up to them. I often had to remind her to be gentle or slow down, it was such a great experience, Id like to try a storytime there in the spring.

Oooh you must be wondering about the little GIRLS part? Well if you aren't you can stop reading.

Today was our Anatomy ultrasound. Tony comes to this appointment. We look at the baby for quite awhile. Koha goes over all the main parts. The heart, to make sure it has 4 chambers. The kidneys. The bladder. The head circumference. Neck folds .. tons of other stuff. People really like this ultrasound because this is where they usually find out what gender the baby is. Baby is healthy, on track and CUUUUTE.

I was totally team green from the beginning. I wont lie Ive always wanted a girl. I got her, and now at this point its just a bonus. I wanted a boy in the early part of the pregnancy, because I really thought Tony would enjoy that. I was surprised when he said he wanted another girl. I honestly thought it was a boy up until about Christmas time. Right before Christmas I changed from wanting a boy to wanting a girl... then I ended up just, it is what it is and its fine and dandy. We went in not wanting to know but honestly I had been thinking about it for awhile and I DID want to know. Tony has ALWAYS wanted to know. So we had the technician write it down and put it in the envelope. That didn't last long.. I kid you not, about 12 min and Tony was in the envelope. Its stupid if one of us knows and the other doesn't so I wanted to know too!

Baby GIRL!!!!

That cute little one is a girl! I was excited but kinda knew in my gut she was a girl.

We discussed prior if we would keep the gender a surprise.. Honestly ,we aren't that pretentious.

If we know you know. I highly doubt you were wondering EVERY night of the last 22 weeks if we were having a boy or a girl. That being said the same goes for her name. We have no clue as of yet. But I am sure something AMAZING will come to us :D And when it does we will let you know.

So we will see when she comes out. You totally get to see more shots when you are in there and of course the technician never gets the ones you want. Oh well

Gender: Surprise! I'm back to wanting a 2nd girl and knowing HAHAHAH I guess we will see how that fans out.
Movement: I feel 2.0 at least once a day now

Sleep: Ok to Good... this week I was up checking on Ava it was her first week in her toddler bed.. shes been doing SO well. Sometimes I have a hard time getting comfy with the bump I have going on

I found a great steal on the Joovy Ergo Caboose and Decided I would be getting a BOB Duallie now that I have the Ergo. We also have our big ultrasound. This is where people usually find out what gender the baby is... Ill be excited to see the chambers of the heart and all the other organs :D
Ava has been saying some pretty clear words.. Of course she wont say them in front of the doctor or other people until she feels comfortable. And if you say to her... "Aves, Preying Mantis" she puts her hands up like a preying mantis and makes a hissing sound... Shes done this for awhile now its funny and cute, but shes been saying preying mantis and doing the actions however I didn't know that's what she was saying considering it comes out pmamamis... Hahahah Cute Attack!

Avas new room and bed

We finally painted Ava's room.
When we were moving from the townhouse we didn't think it would be a great idea to do a color theme or anything like that. We wanted it the townhouse to be a nice pallet for the next people to work with, and not be turned off by a color or style we had in her room. It took us getting her toddler bed to get to work!

We kept the builders tan color on top (I really like that tan color) and we knew we didn't want pink. So we went with purple. I was apprehensive at first. We had painted a bathroom purple and it was too dark and too purple and just yea... It scared me.

This was actually my 3rd color choice. My goal was the color of the believe sign, I think we nailed it. The white line? I envisioned it in my head.. but after I saw it I was not liking it.

It has since grown on me.

This pillow, I found at Home Goods MANY months ago. Id say about 10 months ago. I was digging through their "treasures" and I found these cute pillows, I was like whats the chance they have Ava? 4 Pillows in.. there it was! AVA. I had to get it. She snuggles the pillow and loves on it, but doesn't sleep with it yet.

Scoping out the new bed

The toddler bed had been put together for almost 4 maybe 5 days before it was her first night in it. Sunday January 2nd. I wont lie it was NOT how I pictured it. We had a long day with only a 30 min nap in the car. A birthday party. Then we had a great dinner visitor :D. We tried putting her to bed while Mike was here. It didn't work she came out like 7 seconds later. We gave up till after he left. She must have been tired because she went down fairly easy. Now come 2 AM, well that's ANOTHER story.

I went in there right when I heard her cry I was so certain she rolled off.. Nope she was just sitting at the foot board holding on. Looking lost. Ill give it to her.. it was dark. There has been A LOT of changes in her room and she was probably scared. I calmed her down got her back in all was well, or so I thought 2 -4 min later crying again. I went in and soothed her.. it was fine then I made the mistake of trying to get up. My old rickety knees cracked and she was fussing again. Tony came in to save the day. These two are peas in a pod they are soo stinkin' cute!

So he motioned for me to leave.. so I did. I figured he had it, no problems. I'm not really sure what all went down. All I know is I woke up in bed alone at 7am. No Tony to be found. I searched the living room first. Headed to the spare bedroom where I noticed

the comforter gone and my last spot.... Ava sleeping in her bed Tony shacked up next to her. Tony and Ava got up at 7:30. Tony was awoken to Ava giving him her blanket! Hahahah I love it.

She napped in there just fine today. An hour and 20 min.

Bedtime took a bit longer, about an hour of up and down in and out. I do have to say. Its SO cute when she comes out with her arms up, teetering down the hallway cus shes halfway sleeping , and laying her head on my leg. There wasn't much crying more whining. I did notice when I was in there she scoped out her bookcase.. So I know some of it is just getting used to her new surroundings.

I'm sure tomorrow will be even better!

Do we still cloth diaper?

Yes, Yes we do!

I had received a few emails asking if we still cloth diaper, as well as pretty much any time I go to work I get asked that question.

Its been about a year and 4 months that we have done cloth diapering.

Most of our stash, if you remember from this post, was mainly Bum Genius 3.0s, actually it was ALL Bum Genius 3.0s. We now have a dozen prefolds, thirsties covers and bummis covers. I was given 2 Fuzzi Bunz One sized diapers that I am still prepping, and 2 Bag Shot Row Bamboo ones that were from an acquaintance that I toss in every once in awhile and 1 Blueberry One Size diaper.

THE stash. If you dont cloth diaper you JUST dont get it

BumGenius 3.0s, The brown with pink polka dots thats the Blueberry OS.

We also use cloth wipes. We have 2 packs of Thirsties Fab Wipes and 1 pack of Kissaluvs. I've also heard of people using cut up receiving blankets or just baby wash clothes. I wet them and place them in a Tupperware container that sits on the changing table in the wicker basket. Some users also place a little bit of baby wash in there. We were doing this for awhile with Earth Angel Mama Baby cleanser but Tony thought it smelled like baby vomit . . . so we just use water ;) You can however use any kid of baby cleanser you use for your baby. We use Sensitive Skin California Baby, it has no smell so I figured what was the point of using it in the wipes?

I have also since changed washing detergent. I use to use a mix that I would make (equal amounts of Washing Soda, Borax and OxiClean). I liked it a lot UNTIL I tried Rockin Green. Why didn't I go with Rockin Green in the beginning? Well everyone else was doing it. It seemed like a fad. I ended up buying some and doing some testing with Rockin Green. I have never seen my diapers whiter or returned back to their original state. I am for ever a Rockin Green user.

My stash will last me about 5 days with just Ava. I know with Murphy 2.0 and Ava we will be washing probably every 2 or 3 days in the beginning but honestly its not that hard. The hard part is keeping Ava from "helping" and taking the inserts or shells and putting them away in her room. What should take about 7-10 min of folding and stuffing takes about 30 chasing her around and trying to find which drawer she might have put them away in.

Murphy 2.0 will be cloth diapered from the beginning, unlike Ava who we started at about 3 months. I was thinking about getting some Little Joeys.. or just using the thirsties duo size 1 covers we have from Ava and just using the newborn prefolds, We will probably end up doing this.

Some of my favorite places for shopping cloth diapers are All Things Diapers, located right down the street in Blaine :D, Peapods on Como Ave in St Paul, Green Mountain Diapers and of course Bebeology where our original stash was purchased.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Honestly, how many pictures can you look at of kids on Christmas?
They all look the same after awhile so I will just condense all of the Christmas'
in to one post.

We do 3 Christmas'. One was last weekend at Tonys Grandmas nursing home.
Then the 2 this weekend.
Christmas Eve was at his moms house and Christmas Day at my Aunts house.
It works out well for us, there is no fighting and we get to all places with out rushing or missing
out on any activities. However, I think I need to start asking an "eating time".
My family always says we are eating at 1pm. So I know we can get there a bit early, mix and mingle a bit then sit down to dinner. Where as at the in laws ,I guess I just assumed we would be eating at 3 since that's the start time.. and My poor kid was having a melt down. It didn't really help that she was running a fever and was hot but still. Lesson learned come closer to actual start time instead of early. Let her take a nap and come a bit late if need be.

The day before Christmas Eve Tony was sick. I knew it was only a matter of time before one of us got it after him. Since it seemed to be a quick bug running through everyones house!
Tony was sick Christmas Eve Eve and I had Christmas Day when we got home! Thankfully for the most part it was just a quick 24 hour bug. Tony had some muscle cramping in his neck. Which wasn't amazing but at least we made it to Christmas day.

Ava and Aubrey played in Avas new wagon during Christmas Eve. Even though she wasn't feeling well and both girls were starting to run on EMPTY they seemed to enjoy each other and the company!

Christmas morning she woke up pretty early for when she went to bed the night before.
She slept from 8pm till about 730ish AM. Still along time but I thought we would make it until
at least 8am. I guess she did sleep in the truck on the way home from Grandma and Grandpas.

Some of our morning pictures didn't turn out. She was moving to fast. I should have adjusted the shutter speed. I guess that's Hines site for ya!
She came out and noticed the stuff under the tree but went straight for . . . Mister Potato Head!

Yep! I wear glasses... I have to wear them until I go back to the clinic due to preservative buildup in my eye. Crazy right. So if you are using a multi purpose solution , think about changing to a preservative free solution. Clear Care is the newest and most up to date. You can find it at Target, and most other retailers. I haven't had a chance to use it but anytime I can find something that is more "natural" I'm all about it.

Why did that flow out of my mouth today? And why did Tony ask that question to begin with.. And why was Cyndi holding Makena on the couch looking a titch bit scared and still wanting to laugh?

Well lets start off with a whole day outlook!

-We woke up at 8am ::Angels singing:: I wont lie I went to bed late and was THANKFUL for the 8am wake up from Miss Aves.

-Stacy came and picked up some misplaced articles.

-Cyndi ran in, in the middle of picking up articles to drop of Makena so I could watch her for a bit, she had a dentist appointment.

Ava was standing at the top of the stairs yelling Mena Mena... Its what she calls Makena and Makena was running up the stairs to get in to the gate as I was running behind her to let her in and Cyndi was telling me what was in the bag and running out the door! I liked all of this.. especially the girls looking forward to each other. Its the first time Ava has ever looked so excited to see a friend!

We played, they ran, I refereed, they giggled , they snacked, they hugged/tackled. It was amazing.

Sharring oranges and gossip over snack time!

-Cyndi came back. We decided to hit up lunch.

- I went to change Avas diaper where she literally jumped off the changing table arms flaring and twisting in the air.. Needless to say I missed catching her :/ (shes OK). And I foreshadowed this weeks prior telling Cyndi Ava was going to fall off one of these days!

-Cyndi yelled for Makena to go to her, Ava followed Makena, diaperless, and stopped in the hallway.

I noticed she looked kind of weird, and her pink sock was a darker pink in a spot... NOT GOOD.. Yep she peed... So I was cleaning that up while my diaperless child ran to the living room to play.

-Tony comes out from his slumber cave asking "Why is it wet here?" I answered "Oh because your daughter just peed there AFTER she fell off the changing table"

-We were getting ready to go to Noodles & Co. and Makena was hugging Ava, just a titch to hard and they tumbled.. so now Ava was on the floor crying. Hahahah

-We backed out of the driveway apparently I hit the side of the garage and lost a blinker.

(Tony calls this Avas first car accident)

-After we ordered we went to go sit down. Ava tripped over air and fell bonked her head on the table leg... REALLY?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah... those were the interesting parts of the day!

Ava received money from Tonys Aunt Mary for Christmas! We usually drop the cash in the bank and let it be. But I saw an amazing Mister Potato head set and had to get it with the money!

She pointed at EVERY item in the box

Of COURSE I missed the smile! She loves them!

ANNNNNND! I hosted a moms night in, Cookie Exchange. I didn't take a lot of pictures, Well any accept for my smoked salmon wontons I made

And why did I wake up from a nap with a list to Santa from a guy who doesn't believe? And thinks I am doing damage bringing Ava to see Santa?!?! Just sayin!
