‘Indiravizha’. How pathetic it is to watch the remake version where there’s no thriller. It’s all about the leading ladies Namitha, Hema Malini and Ragasiya competing with each other on showing their skins to the extreme.

If you’re an intellectual audience, you will just spit on the screens and move out of theatres much prior to intermission. But if you’re actually looking out for the ‘Midnight Masala’ go for this film.

So stupid! And how come the genius filmmaker K. Rajeshwar afforded to make such a nasty film?

Santhosh (Srikanth), a successful channel head has no worries in his life. He has everything including the best job in leading TV Network, a beautiful gorgeous wife Savithri (Hema Malini) and friendly colleagues (Ragasiya and many more). But unexpected arrival of his ex-girlfriend Kaminey (Namitha), now the wife of channel owner (Nasser) turns down his situation upside down. She attempts to seduce him and although Santhosh falls for her aphrodisiacal approach. But gets off back to home as he remembers about loyalty to his wife and Kaminey takes her round of seeking revenge of Santhosh on pulling him out of job. And now, the Santhosh seeks his friend’s (Vivek) help to fight the legal case in court and when things move out of control on the judgment day, his departed wife Savithri herself appears for the case.

What happens next is the worst climax in Tamil Cinema.

As usual Srikanth is filled with lots of enthusiasms in churning out a hit, but what to do. He has been choosing wrong scripts on the row. Namitha can better quit films and try on parallel cinemas (We mean ___) that are more available in internets. What the hell is she actually doing there? With a bulk sized body, she cannot even evoke a sensuous feel and it’s almost like fair hippopotamus jumping here and there in dance sequences. Really wondering how Rajeshwar designs such sequences of a charming guy Srikanth falling for her. Hema Malini wants to compete a lot with Namitha and shows everything to maximum that she isn’t supposed to do so. Ragasiya has cheated Srikanth as a witness due to the threatening of Nasser and of course she does it save her boyfriend. We accept it! But how does she go out and dance in the pub with the same chap for a song. So silly and irritating.

Just go through the sequence where Namitha offers a Singapore-imported chocolate that is available in ordinary petty shops of Chennai today. Know what? Director has termed the chocolate to be ‘Spanish Fly’ that’s almost like a Viagra arousing the sexual desires.

Alas, you can keep counting more and more ridiculous factors in this way. But a long article may turn to be a case study.

Let’s stop it here. It’s merely Vivek who tries to stop the audiences from running out of theatres. But again, there comes Y. Gee. Mahendran a talented actor who acts like a third grade performer. It’s really weird to listen to his Malayalam intonations.

Namitha’s next film Indhra Vizha is going to hit the screens tomorrow (Friday). The publicity designs of the film are mainly focused on Namitha’s glamour. The film’s posters and publicity ignored the other cast of the film like Srikanth, Hemamalini and Rahasiya.

Rajeshwar, the director of the movie, said, “Namitha is the USP of the film. So it is but natural that she will be given more importance.”

Namitha is also very happy with the way the director promoted the film using her images. She hopes it would project her as the solo winner of a film like Vijayshanthi.

Multilingual actress Namitha is leaving no stones unturned to create a buzz about her forthcoming Tamil film Indira Vizha. She will send two lakh email messages to fans requesting them to watch the film in theatres.

Directed by K Rajeshwar, Indira Vizha also stars Srikanth and newcomer Hemamalini, and is touted to be one of the much-awaited movies in recent times.

Rajeshwar said that the e-mailing work has already begun. He is planning to release the film as Namitha’s movie therefore all the promos and ads have her in prominent position leaving little scope for other actors to hog the limelight.

Namitha's price tag is now Rs 10 lakhs. Well don't come to conclusions. That is not her remuneration for a film.

That's her claim to dance for an item song in any film. Recently a Telugu producer approached her to make her groove her in an item song. When she quoted this whopping figure he was shocked.

So for a 5 minute presence on screen Namitha would charge such big sum. Good that she has bright market in Tamilnadu.

She is also being called as Regional Guest and Regional Brand Ambassador for Country Club Chennai region.

Desadrohi, which has Namitha playing a cop, is being shot at a brisk pace at various places in and around the city. Being made on the theme of Naxal revolution, the film is being directed by KS Nageswara Rao. “Namitha is working hard in getting her histrionics right like Vijayashanthi in ’Karthvyam’.

Some action sequences on Namitha, Sana and Santhi Chandra will be shot in Madala Ravi’s house while few others on Namitha, Ravi and Sobhan at the Annapurna Studios and Golconda fort,’’ the director explained. If sources are to be believed, Srihari is all set to act with Hot Namitha in this film. Buzz is that he has agreed to do a key role in this film and he will soon start participating in the regular shooting.

Namitha who made her debut in Tamil film Engal Anna in the year 2004 has acted in 34 films. She has also acted in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films. Her important Tamil films are Billa, Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Thee, 1977, Perumal, Sandai, Pandi, Nan Avan Illai, Chanakkya and Aye. She has tied hands of her fans with her glamour. A temple for her has been built at Nellai by her fans. Fans will be celebrating her birthday on 10th of this month. Her fan clubs will be doing a lot of charitable deeds to the needy and poor.

2000 fans will be donating blood in Chennai. Food will be donated to orphanages and old age homes. Namitha, the hot and happening actress of Kollywood has celebrated her Birthday with her parents after a long gap of 4 years at her Mumbai residence on May 10th Sunday.

According to Namitha, it was her lovable grandpa’s wish to celebrate the moment with the family.

“Since I was busy with my hectic film commitments, from the year 2005, I wasn’t found time to celebrate my birthday with my family member, especially with my grandpa. For the last four years I just spent the special occasion with my unit members…”, Says Namitha with joyful mood.

In Chennai, her fan club members celebrated Namitha’s birthday with much fanfare and distributing welfare aids to the needy.

Namitha Fan Club President Selvam and PRO John made exclusive arrangements and distributed free meal and sweets to the orphan children at Kaakkum Karangal, Kodambakkam.

They distributed free computers (3 nos), school books and stationary to students who are studying at Namitha Evening Tuition Center, a free education wing of Namitha Fan Club functioning at Somaiyanoor, Coimbatore.

Namitha Fans Club also organized evening free tuition centers at Pondicherry. The volunteers who are working on free of cost in the tuition centers have participated in the celebrations at Chennai and enjoy the day with firing crackers.

Actress Namitha who is know for her glamorous roles on screen, will be seen for the first time wearing a Khaki dress. She will be playing a cop role for a telugu movie titled Deshadrohi. The movie was formally launched on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Anapoorna Studios, Hyderabad.

Alert to all die hard Namitha fans, who hound her when she makes a public appearance, who wish to build a temple for her or those who never miss a film of hers! Her cousin, an equally Radhika Malhotra, is all set to set foot into tinsel town, through the film ‘Raghavan’.

Directed by Paranthaman, the movie is about a young lad’s love for a girl who doesn’t understand him and falls for a baddie instead. How the girl, played by Radhika, gets to understand the hero and his love’s genuinity form’s the story’s crux.

This is the debut directorial venture of Paranthaman, who was an associate to Sevaraghavan, which is why the movie has been titled ‘Raghavan’. This is like how Gautham’s assistant Krishna, named his first hero’s character, Gautham. Suriya played this role in Krishna’s ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’.

Gangai Amaren makes a comeback as the music director for this film, produced by Selva Raj under the banner Akhina Productions. Vijith plays the lead role and Radhika plays his love. In fact, the actress had to do a scene in which she had to slap him and it seems she shocked him out of his wits by really slapping him on the sets.

Namitha the glam girl of Tamil cinema is very popular in Kerala. The actress was in Kochi recently for the pooja of her debut film in Malayalam ttled Black Stallion.

We caught up with the actress who was busy signing autographs and posing for pictures with her fans.

Is this your first visit to Kerala ?

No.. I have been here before. I have come to Athirapally waterfalls for song picturisation and I adore the greenery and climate here. No doubt that they call it God’s Own Country

Have you any plans to buy a house here near the backwaters ?

I would love to. (Smiles) Let me see how my film does in Kerala and then probably, then I’ll think of settling down here.

Are you happy with the image of a glam girl or do you want to try out something new ?

Of course.. I have started thinking about this seriously and already, I sign up films where I have scope to perform. Item numbers or special appearances are a strict No.

But in your debut film Black Stallion you play a bar dancer ?

Yes my role demands glamour but there is scope for performance. I read the full script and then signed on the dotted line.
But why did it take you so much time to sign a Malayalam film ?

I had offers from Mammootty sir sometime back but due to dates problem, I missed that film. Don’t worry, I am open to doing more films here.

Have you met Mammootty and Mohanlal, the living legends of Malayalam cinema ?

I have not met Mammootty sir though I have seen a few of his films. I met Mohanlal sir at an airport recently.
Do you understand Malayalam ?

I can’t figure out a word. But I will try to learn it.

You have 2500 dedicated fan clubs in Tamilnadu ?

Please comment? Yes A guy called Selvam looks after my fan clubs and they are doing quite a few good works for the poor and needy. I believe that my fans have built temples for me in Coimbatore and Madurai.

Your new projects ?

Indravizha, Jaganmohini are complete. Telugu Billa is almost ready 1977 has just released.
Your beauty mantra ?

Thanks to my parents. But I take care of my skin by using only herbal products. Drink lots of water and exercise.

In an era bounded with lots of fantastic remakes, ‘Jagan Mohini’ happens to be so unique of its genre. Year’s back, one of the eminent auteurs Vittalacharya spelled an exceptional flick ‘Jagan Mohini’ based on mythological lines. Perhaps, the film churned out in early 70s was untouched by top-charting contemporary filmmakers as they felt it to be off complications. Even so, Filmmaker N.K. Viswanathan remakes it roping the best computer generated graphics of latest trends. Featuring Namitha in lead role, something had really concerned Viswanathan and that was all about making a fast beat Kuthu number that will feature Namitha and ace actress Jayamalini. Nevertheless, the actress refused this offer due to age factor.

Know who’s the one replacing her now?

It’s none other than the pretty actress Jyothi Lakshmi, sister of Jayamalini who’s been sizzling with their stunning dances all throughout these ages and that’s more illustrious with her moments in ‘Muthu’ and ‘Sedhu’…
