   You've landed on this page because you're looking to Make Money Online from blogging. If you are just starting out, you don't want to get unrelated information about this. It's very easy to get sidetracked and overwhelmed in your search to make money online. So I suggest you stay on course and don't bounce all over the place searching and searching. I should know. I kept falling for all the lures and promises. After 2 years I got nowhere.

   This blog is about learning how to blog and learning how to make money at it by just providing information.   You will be making money by learning to blog and doing something called "monetizing".

This is done through various ways such as Affiliate Marketing and Adsense or even providing something called "E books" (Downloadable information that is provided once payment is made). Most Affiliate Marketing is not rewarding, because it isn't done properly. I will be suggesting some sites that you can promote and make money every time somebody clicks on your ads.

Proper placement of ads in your blogs will make you money. As you navigate through the pages, you'll learn how to first start making money with Google Adsense. You will have to register with Google and agree to their terms and conditions. It's better, however, not to monetize your site with Adsense until you get a lot of traffic. I'm talking about fifty thousand hits a month or so. Adsense doesn't pay very well unless you have traffic, lots of it.

   It's possible that you could care less about blogs. Many people don't, but many do. Blogs may not be for you. Some may have ethical qualms about making money from blogs. In any case, read on. You may find this content at least informative and well worth your while.

   You may also have burning question:"Why am I willing to share all of this information for free?" As you learn a bit more about this subject, you will realize that I'm not doing this out of the sheer goodness of my heart. I do have a good heart and do enjoy doing this, but sharing good free information with the World Wide Web, is actually a very good policy and one that can make you money.

   This is why: Writing is not really most everyone's "bag". Most people would rather copy and paste stuff they feel will make them a quick buck and "steal" your unique content. This may work for a few copy cats. But Google frowns on "Copy and Paste Sites" and penalizes them. They may rank well for as while, especially when they pay to get ranked. But a good thing has come out of this for you. These sites inevitably give you something called "back links" and actually help your page rank better.

   The other "positive" thing about copycats, as far as you're concerned, is that they're cutting their own throat. Because Google frowns on them, they eventually get "sand boxed". This means they are put in a sort of black hole where no one finds them. It's better for you. You eliminate the competition. The unique content type sites or blogs rank higher.

There is a moral to the story: He who is lazy at this business fails.

   Blogs are a lot more dynamic than regular sites. They get regular posts, comments and other good stuff such as interactivity that regular sites may not have. So take another look at blogs and see if they are for you. You can use Blogger.com or WordPress for your blogs. They both have pros and cons. Some pro bloggers prefer paid services and use special software. I'm a bit old fashioned and use Blogger.com and Word Press.

   Blogs are free and that's their biggest advantage. It will be well worth your efforts to become proficient with them and eventually master them. The .com's, .net's and .org's can get expensive. That is why I chose to blog with the above, even though it has required application of the pointers I'm about to give you.

If you're looking for a system that will make you money almost immediately, this is not for you.

   I need to caution you first, without any niceties or "sugar on top". If you're looking for a system that will make you money almost immediately, this is not for you. I haven't found it in the many years that I've been online. I consider myself a fairly intelligent and informed person, but above all persistent. And I repeat: "I haven't found it yet". You will find a lot of claims to the contrary: "Buyer beware! I'm not selling you anything here, so relax. Put your wallet away.

   If you are an expert blogger who just stumbled on this article, you too may find it valuable. But if you're looking for a quick buck, don't "waste your time" here and I will tell you why:

   Blogging, like any worthwhile venture, requires a few prerequisites. Above all of these, you'll need persistence. Although it's a great platform to write on---and free---you'll need to learn some basics. these include, but are not limited to:

1. Fairly good writing skills. You don't have to be a professional writer, but a good command of the language in which you blog and a flair for writing are a must. When I see a badly written piece, poorly communicated and full of typos, my confidence is shattered and I leave the page.

2. You'll need creativity. Google rewards unique content. If you just copy and paste everything, you'll be better off not blogging. Such requires you to put to use some of your neurons and intellectual abilities. it's probably better to write about a subject you are already familiar with and this is why. When you know about a subject well, say "recipes", you will have had successes with this as you've gotten proficient at it.

Your information will tend to be more factual and genuine. Fiction, for example can be a tough subject as it requires a great deal of imagination and research. There are many great Science Fiction writers that have a great command of the subject. But remember that even they had to become very familiar with the subject before they eventually became successful.

3. Fairly good computers skills are very helpful, but not a must. I think that the above are the most important pre- rec's. But knowing your computer well, having a good browser and learning how to organize your computer files will save you lots of time and grief.

4. Blogs have many advantages, if written and optimized correctly. But they have downfalls. Apparently Google prefers the .coms, .nets or .orgs. But this is not always so. There are a few expert bloggers, emphasis on FEW, who rank very well. One of these is Griz. I follow him. I can't say he's got it all pegged. But I can tell you that he dominates the "Make Money Online" subject. I heed his advice. He doesn't make money--as far as I can see-- by luring you into some Make Money Online System.

His "system" is no system at all except some know how and hard work. many folk hire him to optimize their pages. I've never used him. But those who do swear by him.

     You'll need to know how to optimize your blogs. This includes Search engine Optimization, which is the subject of another posting or blog, but I thought I should mention it. You'll also need to know subjects like "keyword density", "back links", etc. You can find out more about this by checking out my other blogs, or doing a search on this one.

    I'm sure I didn't cover it all. I just wanted to get this post up. I realized that I've written quite a bit about "Make Money Blogging", but haven't broken it down to basics as above.

I suggest you start at the beginning. It's very tempting to get sidetracked. I'm writing with "blogger in a Draft".

    Just click on the link on the link above and you'll be re-directed to this special edition of Blogger. It allows you to add up to 10 pages to your blog, independent of your main posts. This is a great feature as you can lay out your blog just like a website. The more you use it, the more proficient you'll get at it and the more professional your blogs will look. Some blogs actually look and rank better than websites.

    Making money online requires that you work hard at it. But the rewards are there to be had. Persevere and you'll get there.

One of my favorite authors, L Ron Hubbard writes:

"1. First consider a group which takes in money but does not deliver anything in exchange. This is called rip-off.

"2. Second is the condition of partial exchange. The group takes in orders or money for goods and then delivers part of it or a corrupted version of what was ordered.

"3. The third condition is the exchange known, legally and in business practice, as `fair exchange.' One takes in orders and money and delivers exactly what has been ordered.

"4. The fourth condition of exchange is not common but could be called exchange in abundance. Here one does not give two for one or free service but gives something more valuable than money was received for.

"This fourth principle above is almost unknown in business or the arts. Yet it is the key to howling success and expansion."

To re cap: 1. develop fairly good writing skills 2. Be creative. 3. Learn as much as possible how to use a computer. 4. Experiment with different blog templates and features such as "adding gadgets", comments box, etc.

Affiliate marketing is possibly the "easiest" way to make a buck or two by adding these the proper affiliate links or banners to your blog so that readers can click on them. There will be a lot of trial an error. No "system" I've ever bought into gives you the full picture. Some are better than others, but most just want your money. Once you buy you're nagged into "upgrading". You can "upgrade" all you want and the only one who really upgrades is:   you guessed it, the one who sells you the upgrade. He gets richer.

Follow the fourth principle of exchange above as much as you can: Provide your public with abundance. But a lot of this business you'll have to figure out on your own. Affiliate Marketing Earnings From Blogs

For some "God knows why" reason, I decided to look into my 1&1 Web Hosting Affiliate panel. This is where I track how much money I have made with them. You will see a gadget on the top right corner of this blog that urges you to host with them. I make commissions every time someone signs up with them--- fair enough, I lead the buyer there through the ad.

But I was completely disappointed when Lo and Behold, I had made about $500 in commissions from as far back as 2007 and was never once forwarded my checks! Even if it's a drop in the bucket.

I'm not a greedy person, but come on! I worked hard for these and was beginning to think that no one clicked on those banners at all. After all, some of my blogs have been around since 2007 and not a thin dime! What happened? I decided to investigate and called and even e mailed them (I'm not holding my breath) and couldn't get a straight answer as to why NO COMMISSIONS. I won't pass judgment yet, but something's not right.

The above is the bad news. The good news is that you CAN make money blogging, even if little at first. The more you do it, add content and provide good solid info for your readers, invite them to participate, the more you will eventually make. It snowballs. The key really is proper monetization and VOLUME. You want to get in with the proper affiliate programs. Some pay more than others; some you earn money but there is a bug in getting paid; some you get paid-- no problem and some are downright bogus.

The biggest commissions you should get are from hosting sites like 1&1 (if you manage to make sure they DO PAY), Go Daddy, and Adsense (Google) if you know what you're doing. The latter takes a while and you need volume, lots of it, before you see any substantial earnings from them.

Bogus programs are a dime a dozen. I think that Commission Junction is one of them and Click2Sell is another one. I've not made a dime from any of these after years. It's possible that someone hacked my hoplinks and hijacked my earnings. I've read how some "experts" out there can steal your commissions. I hope this is not the case with 1&1 as I've used them and like them as an inexpensive solution for the beginner blogger or Internet Marketer.

Internet Marketing includes Making Money from your Blogs. That is why I brought you this post in Blogger. It IS possible to make money from your blogs, but you need to know how to better structure your Affiliate Marketing Earnings from them, reinforce those that pay relatively well and drop those that stiff you or are duds. It's really that simple. You just Rinse and Repeat and you will eventually make money from your blogs and affiliate sites.

I just got Google Certified with their Engage Program, which is basically their affiliate program. I hope to get some of my readers to start using Ad Words like I do in some of my sites to drive in paid traffic. I'm just getting my feet wet with this though and can't tell you much yet.

I was getting a bit frustrated figuring out some new ways to make money blogging and couldn't think of many. When that happens, I realize I have a bit of "writer's block". My cure for that has always been: "RESEARCH!", and that is exactly what I did. Instead of cheating and rewriting this guy's article (Trent Brownrigg), I decided to copy and paste it, even though it may hurt this blog's ranking, as I'm violating the principle of "unique content".

Well, here it goes:

Even though you may want to start your own internet home business so you can make money online and create a better life for you and your family, there are several excuses you might use for not doing it. Most of your excuses are simply make money online myths that you believe are true but really they are false. In this post I will show you the top 10 make money online myths and the truth behind them.

So, here are the top ten make money online myths:

Make Money Online Myth #1: I don't have the time to build an online business.

That's not true! It doesn't take an excessive amount of time to make money online and most people really aren't as busy as they think they are anyway. You probably have a full time job and a family to tend to. So what! Most people do. If you actually prioritize your time, you will find that you can spare a couple hours every day to build your online business. Most people that do have successful online home businesses were just like you when they started out. If you want something badly enough, you will find the time to make it happen.

Make Money Online Myth #2: It costs too much to start an online business.

Again, not true! You can start an online business for very cheap and it just keeps getting cheaper all the time. The cost of web hosting, domains, web design, programs, tools, resources, information, and everything else you might need for your online business only add up to a few dollars per day. And most of it you can find for free. Stop buying that $3 cup of coffee every morning and your business expenses are paid for!

Make Money Online Myth #3: I'm not smart enough to run an internet business.

I highly doubt that! You are obviously smart enough to work a computer and you were smart enough to find this post, so you are probably smart enough to run your own online business. You don't really have to be very smart to make money online and there's plenty of information and resources available for you to learn everything you need to know.

Make Money Online Myth #4: I'm not an expert at anything.

You'd be very surprised at how many topics you actually do know a lot about if you think hard about it. Besides, you don't have to be an expert in anything to make money online. I had a degree in Criminology and was working at a prison when I decided I wanted to start my own online business. I started researching information about making money online and had my business up and running in a matter of days. It wasn't long before I had quit my day job and was making a full time income from my home business.

Make Money Online Myth #5: I don't have an information product to sell so I can't earn money online.

So what! You don't need a product in order to start an online home business. There are plenty of products on just about every topic imaginable that you can sell as an affiliate. You can promote these existing products as an affiliate marketer and earn commissions on every sale you make. There are also plenty of other ways to make money online until you decide what you really want to do for your online business. Then, you can create your own product to sell later if you want.

Make Money Online Myth #6: There's too much competition so I will never make any money.

That's a lame excuse! There are millions upon millions of people searching for all sorts of topics you can be making money from every day. Plus there are thousands of new people who are coming online all the time that could be in your target market. With an online business your market is virtually unlimited! And if you have competition for your home business idea all that really means is that it's a good idea. Trust me, you can compete!

Make Money Online Myth #7: I've tried several online business ideas and failed. Making money online is just not my thing.

Well, you could be right on this one, however you are probably wrong. Your failure most likely stems from not sticking to one business idea and building it up. If you jump from one idea or opportunity to another without ever really giving any one of them a fair shot then failure is certain. You must put in sufficient effort and time into any online business idea before you will really make money or find any level of success.

Make Money Online Myth #8: The only people who make money online are the ones selling "how to make money online" products to newbies.

This is something I hear all the time and it's ridiculous! I've built a successful online business and have been making money online since 2003, and I still don't sell my own "how to make money online" product. Your online business can be built in any niche you want. You don't have to get into the MMO niche if you don't want to. There's an unlimited supply of great niches out there for you to profit from.

Make Money Online Myth #9: I need a lot of advertising dollars or I won't find any customers.

Nope, that's absolutely not true! The internet is the perfect place for marketing your home business without needing a lot of money to do so. There are many very effective ways to market and advertise your business on the internet and most of them are either free or very cheap. I've had my online business since 2003 and I have never spent a large sum of money on any marketing or advertising method.

Make Money Online Myth #10: Getting top search engine rankings is impossible and I can't make money without them.

Wrong again! In highly competitive niches it is very difficult to achieve top search engine rankings, but it's not impossible. It can be done if you put in enough time and effort to get there but you don't need to because there are plenty of profitable niches out there that are fairly easy to get top search engine rankings for. All you have to do is find a good niche, build a website around it, get it ranked highly, earn money, rinse and repeat. It's not very difficult.

Alright, that's it. The top 10 make money online myths and the truth about them. Don't convince yourself, or let anyone else tell you that you can't build a successful online home business. You can do it if you really want to. It won't exactly be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. So get started right now so you can create financial freedom and a better future for you and your family.

If you're too cheap, you won't make money blogging

I initially wanted to blog to make money. Two years later I became convinced that I was being too cheap buying the necessary software and tools and only made pennies doing it.

Using Blogger.com is attractive because you can host a blog, which is technically a website, build it up by adding content, monetizing it with affiliate programs and Adsense, etc. You can do all of this for free and get traffic and start making some money if you know what you are doing. But is it enough? Not at all. Again, if you're too cheap, you won't get anywhere. I you persist on this "free" bandwagon, you'll get frustrated and eventually give it up. So you may wonder, "Why do I still insist on using Blogger?" Good question and I will tell you why.

As I mentioned earlier, you can use Blogger for free. This is the lure. But I eventually changed that "free" mentality and invested in domain names. As I evolve my blogs, I look at what works and what doesn't. Most of the "make money blogging", or "make money online blogs" don't get much traffic. Why? It seems that anybody that finds out about Blogger and can use a computer, gets in on the action and floods the internet with junk--- the "make money online" junk. That is what I did initially by subscribing to a loser system called "The Spider Web Marketing System" developed and run by Kimball Roundy-- pure, unadulterated garbage. I lost 6 months of my time and thousands of dollars trying to promote his program with Blogger.

Since Blogger is free, I was fooled into believing that I could promote his system for free through blogs. I had a rude awakening. The system only "works" if you use Google Adwords. This can break you if you don't know what you are doing. Roundy didn't really care how much money you poured into Adwords, after all, it was I who was spending the money and was making him rich, while I maxed out my card--- never again!

But such was a good lesson. It seems that we don't really learn unless we trip over that proverbial stone and then avoid doing it again. Since big money was an issue, I decided to really learn how to make money in internet marketing. My first lesson was: Use blogger as a testing ground only. Through traceable clicks, find out if you're actually getting traffic. If you are, then:

1. Invest in a domain name, like dot com, or dot net. You can actually get a custom domain name through Blogger. They partner with Go daddy I believe. Stay away from the "domain name" provided by Blogger, get a custom domain name and you will get more traffic. But, if your blog in Blogger.com gets A LOT of traffic, don't change it (this will be rare though). You did something right. I have some blogs that through trial and error get traffic--- actually quite a bit more than regular sites. But investing in a dot com, or dot net is a fast way to climb search engine rankings. You'll be taken more seriously.

2. Do Blogger.com as a testing ground mostly. I've stayed with Blogger on Inspiration for your day blog only because it ranks very well and it's a free service. It is not for profit, really, even though I have some affiliate ads and some Adsense. Some blogs I don't do for money.

3. Invest in software that will give you a good return on your money (R.O.I). I suggest Dreamweaver to make professionally looking pages. But it can be expensive. You may want to stick with Wordpress. If you still insist on "free", try Kompozer. It's not too complicated, but it has a bit of a learning curve. You'll need to learn F.T.P. I follow a great marketer named Mark Knowles. Since I didn't have time to copy and paste my own affiliate links, I'll just give you his website that you can visit and get the software via his links if you wish. But you can also learn quite a bit from him. He has a no B.S. approach, which I find refreshing. 4. Don't buy stuff unless you absolutely have to. It is very easy to get lured by all these "make money online" "systems" that don't deliver. Making money online, requires a lot more than what these guys are telling you. Buy what you need and shop around if you have to. Domain names are cheap at Godaddy. Hosgator is also cheap. I'll give you my affiliate links later and you may even get these cheaper.

5. Don't be too cheap with your time but don't waste it either. Your time is valuable. Focus on what it is that you have as a goal. Be willing to invest time into making money online, if that is what your goal is. You will eventually see rewards-- a lot sooner than you may think. I make most of my income from my websites. I no longer advertise on The Yellow Pages or magazines. That may work for some, but not for me.

Obviously this depends on your business. One of my businesses (yes, I have a few actually) is about 80% income from the internet, 10% return clients and another 10% flyers and mailings.

Do you really want to make money blogging?

I know that making money online is a very hot subject. But do you really want to make money blogging?

O.K. then, let me tell you what you're in for. And if at the end of what you read below, you still want to do it, then my hat's off to you. You will find that it takes a very special individual.

To make money blogging you'll need to have and do the following:

1. Patience. I've been doing this for the last 2 years seriously and I've just started to make some money. It's not a quick process. Better keep your day job for a while. Blogs don't usually rank very well in the search engines. They are free and I guess looked down to some degree by the search engines. And since they are free, almost anyone who can barely type, much less have any brains, can type up any nonsense, copy and paste some pictures and voila! In order to "fool" the search engines you need:

2. Very good unique content. You don't necessarily want to compete with everyone who thinks they can just put up a "make money online blog". Most blogs ranks very badly with Alexa. They will rank on an average about 5 millionth position or no rank at all. Most "make money online blogs", have the same old same old "unique content", such as make money with Adsense or affiliate marketing.

Good luck! I've been with Adsense for over 2 years and I've still to receive my first $100 check. Why? In my opinion, Google is cheap and will pay a somewhat decent amount only when you have lots of traffic to your blog. The only one that makes any money to think of is Griz. I'm sure you can look him up and you'll see the full reason why. The moral of this story, don't put Adsense on your blog until you have more than 1,000 visitors per month.

3. Learn how to lay out your blog neatly and attractively. Most blogs, as I mention above, are put together very hastily, little proof reading goes in the process. But it's a lot more than just not making grammatical errors or typos. Nicety laid out and professionally presented blogs show that you mean business and that you are a pro, not a novice. This builds up trust and better yet, lots of readers, referrals and more readers. You guessed it, eventually you'll make money.

Many would be bloggers start out with terrible blogs. They pick I-puke-green templates that turn off even the most liberal eclectic minds. The blogs are filled with irrelevant content and have tons of "who cares" ads. They are sort of a cry of "I'll try just anything to see what works. There is no plan or scheme and it shows, badly. Some pro bloggers call starting out right, "your base". And they are right. Your base is something you build on, as you research more, add content and improve your posts or pages. I suggest a simple template to begin with. Stay away from the black, flower or modernistic templates. As you get the hang of it, start making some subtle changes.

A good base starts giving you something of a brand name in this business and respectability. When you make subtle changes, don't make them drastic. Your followers will think they landed on the wrong page and click out.

4. A good niche. Stay away from the "make money online" niche. Nobody really makes money with this, unless they've been at it for a very long time, oftentimes decades! That's right: decades. Instead, pick a less competed niche such as "make money blogging", "Blogging income for beginners", "Supplement your income by writing", etc.

My friend started a site on Energy savers. This site mentions nothing about making money online. By proper search engine optimization, starting off with a good base and other neat tricks, he's been ranking highly in Google. He makes more money with this site than many professed make money online gurus.

5. Research affiliate marketing. A good affiliate program is Quickbooks or Amazon.com. But you still need lots of traffic. I'll get into the subject of monetizing your blog later.

6. Build traffic to it by:

A. Posting daily good unique content, properly optimized with the right keyword density. Keep your posts related.
B. Collect identities, such as e mail addresses.
C. Invest in an auto responder.
D. Email weekly to your e mail addresses something they can buy, such as a good Clickbank course,
Quickbooks or Amazon.com item.
E. Your e mail list could care less if you make money or not. Give them a loss leader if you must such as free info, but always urge them to buy something. Don't be shy about it.
F. Get the Alexa plug in and check other sites as to "back-links". Go on these and see if you can post comments on these, or write articles and direct the readers back to your blog. The more back-links you build, the higher your site will rank.

7. Be persistent and keep doing only what works. Drop what does not.

8. Monetize your site. There are many methods of monetizing your site. The most popular is Google Adsense (by the way, this is free advise and I'm too tired to look up the links for you. If you want to find out more about Adsense, Quickbooks, etc. Do some research by Google'ing it ). The next most popular is Amazon.com, then Quickbooks, Clickbank, etc. Do a search for Commission Junction and it will give you a list of affiliate market programs you can join. You need to apply, but don't worry, they approve anyone who can use a computer.

A word of caution. After you apply for Google Adsense, get approved, etc. Don't even think about clicking your own ads "to make money". Such is a violation of their terms and conditions and you'll be banned. It's that short and sweet.

Repeat the process above and remember that once your site or blog ranks well, put in Adsense.

Make money with Keyword Spy

   I haven't posted here in a while and imagine this blog got kinda boring, anyway I was doing a bit of "spying" on some sites, including mine and found out that some Keyword tools are better than others. We have the Google keyword tool which is pretty good, but requires some skill to master--- I will be bringing you an update on that. There are of course others which are not as reliable. Keyword Spy, in my opinion is very user friendly and got most of my keywords, running ads, rankings, etc. right.

     How do I know? I don't take their word for it. I just do my own search and look up my sites. If one of my sites ranks 3 on Page one and compare with Keyword Spy, which says the same thing, then I know they got it right. I do the same with my Cost per Click ads, Organic keywords, etc. It's not very hard to do. But as I've mentioned in earlier posts, if you want to make money blogging, you've got to do a bit of work. It id not for those who love to put things on automatic. Google actually hates and I mean HATES automatic stuff. I do quite a bit of research and sometimes Google "thinks" I'm doing automated queries and blocks my further browsing. I then have to log out, use Explorer for a while and come back to Google. I use Mozilla Firefox as a more user friendly and professional browser. No pop ups, no crap.

Sorry I got off the subject there a bit, but the above aside was needed. Anyway, you're reading this because you're interested in making money blogging. One cool way is to get Keyword Spy. This is service can be used for free, but I suggest you use the Pro version. It is a lot more detailed and will help you get better results. I have a good friend of mine who is an internet marketer and has been doing this for about three years. He wasn't very successful at first and spent about $40,000 of his own money buying into a lot of the hot air that's out there. Not all of this money was wasted. He gained a lot of experience in the process and is making money online now.

I was on his website today How To Make Money Online For Beginners and was very impressed. You need to check this out. I think you will avoid many of the pitfalls that a lot of us internet marketers fall into. He will give you the straight scoop.

I like checking into how he's doing and I must say he's come a long way I don't think he really knew much at first, but he's covering subjects like "how to make money blogging", "How to make money with Adsense", our favorite "How to make money online", etc. A lot of his subjects I already cover in many of my blogs. Choosing Your Keywords -- You HAVE To Understand This

Traffic + High CPC == Cash Cow
The primary way to monetize a blog is by selling advertising space. There are several ways to do this:

You can sell text links, either no-follow or do-follow.
You can sell banner space, for graphical ads.
You can display third party ads through a program like Google AdSense, which pays you per every click an ad receives.

The real secret of how to make a money making blog is in finding a handful of keywords that:
A) receive several thousand searches each month, and
B) are profitable (ie. high CPC.)
Many keywords receive lots of searches but have no profitability. These can be useful for the first two methods, if you build up a readership for your blog and maintain a high volume of traffic, but until then your blog won't be producing squat. If you find keywords that have both qualities, however, you can take advantage of them immediately by implementing AdSense or a similar program. I realized something today that I wanted to share with you which I'm sure you'll like:
Most good information that you'll ever find is actually FREE!

I've been using Adsense for about a year and thought I "knew what I was doing". Man, was I wrong! You won't make money with Adsense if you don't know what you're doing. Sounds simple right? Well, this could be masked or hidden from your consciousness by you if you think you know what you're doing. Get the difference?

I'll quote here a successful author I stumbled upon at Today.com. under the pen name "Griz"

"How to Make Money with Adsense
Before I begin let’s clear something up right off the bat. For every thing I tell you to do there are exceptions to the rules depending on your niche/platform and your ability to modify and experiment. Nothing is set in stone but I am going to give you the basic guide to follow. Only you will know how your site is different and you will have to use some of your gray matter to figure out what works best in your situation. My tips will serve to get you started down the right path.
If you have questions - and I know you will - then please use the comments rather than emailing me. This will allow me to answer for everyone’s benefit and save me a lot of time. Also - please give me as much info as you can when asking questions. Don’t ask why your site is getting 2 cent clicks. I will need to know what the niche is, where your traffic is from, how much traffic, what your keywords are etc to make an informed opinion. Please try and include as much relevant info when asking for help.

Rule #1

If you are going to make money with Adsense then you build your site for that purpose. You don’t slap Adsense on an unoptimized site and expect to make much money with it.

Rule #2

Adsense works best when you drive targeted search engine traffic to your site and the visitor clicks an ad targeted to the term that the user found your site with. Or a related term.
ie. John is searching for “Adsense Tips” using a search on Google. He finds your site listed for that term. He visits and at some point he sees an Adsense ad on your site for “Adsense Tips” or “How to make money with Adsense” or “Adsense for beginners” and clicks one of the ads.
That is a targeted click. You will receive the best CPC. (cost per click or in simple terms this is the amount of money Google will pay you for the click) In this case let us say you get paid $0.50 for it.

Now Bob drops in on your site because someone (maybe you if you don’t know any better) stumbled your post on stumbleupon. Bob isn’t looking for anything - he’s just aimlessly surfing the stumble sites. He doesn’t see much that interests him but clicks on an Ad just out of curiosity. He doesn’t convert for the advertiser - why would he (but sometimes it can happen) as he is just checking things out. He spends two seconds on the advertiser’s landing page and leaves.

Bob is an untargeted click. Google will pay you $0.01 for the click.
Do not get hung up on all the variables at work here. Just understand that you want to drive as much targeted traffic to your site and avoid as much untargeted traffic as you can. You want to rank well in the search engines for as many keywords as you can that are related to your niche and you want to avoid driving traffic to your site from untargeted sources. No stumbling, digging, reddit, etc. If others do it you have no control so don’t get in a flap - it happens. Just don’t chase that traffic yourself.

Overall you will get both kinds of traffic - as long as the majority of your clicks come from targeted sources you will average a decent CPC. They will never all be perfect clicks. If the majority of your clicks end up coming from untargeted sources of traffic then eventually you will be smart priced and all you will see will be the 2 cent CPC. If that happens then pull Adsense off the site and leave it off until you can change the traffic source to more targeted visitors.

Now, before you all ask, yes you can get direct traffic from other blogs linking to you or from people bookmarking you. In general these people are interested in your site’s niche and probably have related niches. Whether they are targeted or not is usually not a concern as they will be readers and are not likely to click your ads anyway. You can have a million stumblers show up too as long as they don’t click your ads you will be fine. I am not telling you that you can’t have untargeted traffic - you can - you just don’t want them clicking ads.

There are programs available that allow you the option to only show ads to search visitors. If your site has a lot of untargeted visitors then use them. I am too lazy to go find the links but I am sure some of my readers will supply them in the comments. If you are new here then you may as well learn this now - I yak a lot and my friends roll in to do the leg work. I encourage it because it gives them a chance to introduce themselves and they are people you should get to know - they help me, I help them and they will help you. If you have no online friends then make friends with some of mine as they will be your best resource. Just be sure to give as much as you get.

(Don’t be shy - get involved. You will notice by the abundance of comments that I belong to a growing community of like minded folks who all help each other and are far more knowledgable than any other group you will meet online. We were all beginners at one time and we don’t mind passing along our knowledge to others - take advantage of it and pay it forward when you can.)
Rule #3

Do not click your friends ads and discourage them from clicking yours. You will get banned. Google can tell when multiple clicks come from the same IP. It is un-natural and sticks out like a sore thumb. Never ever get involved with click fraud. It is not worth it and yes - you will get caught! Yes you will… you beginners had better listen to me as you are all going to try and think of a way to inflate your clicks. DON”T!!!

Rule #4

A successful Adsense site is a site that doesn’t look like an Adsense site. No splogs. It must contain legit information and serve some purpose other than simply displaying Adsense. It is against the Adsense Terms of Service to create a site for the sole purpose of slapping Adsense on it.
How you create an Adsense site for the purpose of making money with Adsense without looking like you have just created an Adsense site for the sole purpose of making money with Adsense will be discussed in the next post. (say that 5 times fast)

Rule # 5

Everything you think you know about Adsense and SEO that you read about elsewhere is crap - even if it isn’t crap. Just because some dude wrote an ebook on either subject doesn’t mean they know jack. It just means they wrote an ebook. The people you want to listen to rank on top of the search engines and don’t write books about making money online.
They make money online.
They don’t need to make money writing an ebook.

And why should you listen to me?
Because I rank on top of the search engines for just about every “make money online” keyword you can think of. Go look.
and… I’m not selling you anything.
and… I’m just a swell guy!

Why am I telling you this for free? Because I need content in order to rank on top of the search engines for even more terms and It is easy for me to write about stuff I know a lot about. I also know that only 1 in 10 of you will follow my instructions. Only 1 in 100 of you will become adept enough to knock me off my perch and when you can you won’t. You will become an ally and together we will kick more ass in more niches and make even more money. In short I want and need more friends who do what I do so that we can all help each other.

Rule # 6

The best business model I know online is to provide free information for any niche that is dominated by sites that sell the info. By providing free and legit info you will bury the competition - the traffic will come to you. And you pay for it all with… yup - Adsense.

In one's endless pursuit of wisdom, it's sometimes easy to lose sight of "the mountain": your goal.

As a writer I'm constantly researching bigger and better ways to write better, promote and get a return on my investment. But my goal in mind has always been: "To do copy writing as a full time activity and make a good living at it". After all, it's in my blood and I highly enjoy it!

But with anything that must be done well, comes a responsibility to stay focused, not just for my sake but for my reader's sake.

That's why my purpose for writing has to have a meaning, a motivating agent.

Yes, I love writing. But this enjoyment is really a benefit I get from my "purpose" and that is: "To bring the reader valuable information so that he can improve his survival, as well as the survival of others."

Such a purpose helps me to stay focused on the "mountain", or goal above.

I share this with you, because at times I've lost sight of my purpose and goal and just wanted to "make money".

The more I wanted to "make money", the less I did. Then I realized I had my sequence backwards.

Therefore, I highly emphasize and suggest the correct sequence:

1. Have a goal to shoot toward.

2. Have a worthwhile purpose that drives you.

and

3. Reap the rewards with satisfaction first and money last.
Once you have done this in sequence, money will start to roll in. Alter the sequence and you'll be begging for dollars.

trust me.

Of course the unholy will shout and scream and kick and even steal to get his way. These are short sighted and short term profits.

The true "profit" is in getting industrious in following the three steps above first.

Naturally having talent is best, writing skills are desired, know how, the proper technology, connections, etc. are great to have. But oddly enough all of these will disappear if you put money first. You'll "lose your way with your purpose".

Your purpose is your burning desire, your driving force, your Elan Vital. Lose this and you'll lose it all.

Don't say I didn't give you a good tip...huh?

Hello my friends again and happy new year!

For some of you, maybe last year was at least stressful with our world-wide economic crisis.
Some of you may have lost your jobs or are close to it.

You may be wondering how you're going to pay those high credit card balances or even your mortgage. Putting food on the table has gotten more difficult. In short, I may not be telling you anything that you don't already know. If that's you, you may find that blogging is very enjoyable and , if done the right way, can be financially rewarding. If that's not you, then this could be for you as well.

What you want to know is: "How can I make this work for me?"

I have good news for you. If you already know how to blog, great! If you don't know and are not sure what you can do with it, besides drink lots of coffee while you have fun writing, then you should know that you can actually make money with it! Awesome, don't you think?

But before you go running off all excited telling everyone the news, let me tell you that more than likely you won't get rich at it. You can however make a very good living at it and this is why:

1. You have a free website. Blogging is probably the easiest way to create your own "website". Technically a blog is a website with its own user friendly editor, gadgets and tools and is hosted by Blogger.com free of charge. How neat is that?

2. It lets you add your own unique content. The internet is hungry for unique content. There is only one of you. As you write your own thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc. and share them with the world (publish them), you'll get readers. These readers have similar interests to yours and land on your pages because they are curious.
Sure you can copy and paste somebody else's content as a way to "automate" your blog. But this doesn't work, which leads me to the next point.

3. You get Free traffic: Without getting too complicated, the biggest traffic getter is unique content. Surfers are tired of the same old re-hashed crap: "Make thousands a week with my method", "This is how I broke the Adsense code and made millions!" There are a lot of outlandish claims out there, perfectly calculated to get your attention, money and forget about you.
Unique content is rewarded by Google, directories, promoters of blogs, e-zines, etc.

Here's an example of it. Copy and paste "electric roll up shutters in Miami'' in your Yahoo browser. You'll see "Exacta Tech Inc." (my shutters company) as number 1 on the organic side (non paid side) I'm first page with Google as well.
Another example: Copy and paste "Aluminum roofs in Miami" in Yahoo or Google. I'll either be first page or top of second (Exacta Tech Inc.).

My ads are locally targeted. I have a combination of "paid traffic" and "unpaid traffic". Adwords is paid. It doesn't care how good your page is as long as you are willing to pay through the nose in your Pay Per Click Campaigns. Each click can be as high as $5.00---ouch! Unpaid traffic refers to "generic". This is usually the left side of the page. Paid traffic is also called "sponsored". Stay away from this one for now. As you gain more experience and finances, you'll want to explore it and use it.

When I started out I used a lot of sponsored ads and paid Google through the nose! I didn't know what I was doing. Then after tweaking my pages with unique content, pictures and other nice things I learned, I started to rank on the first pages. This is called P.R. or page ranking.
You can achieve this with a nice unique blog. You don't need a .com, .net or .org website for this.

Yes. It takes some work, such as Search Engine Optimization, Meta Tags, pictures and captions, Google Analytics, niche marketing, etc. etc. But the biggest ranker above all is "unique content" I didn't make the rules, I just make use of them.

4. You can monetize it. What could be neater than being paid just for you being you? Well, Google thought of that. Open up a Google Adsense account, before you do anything else and put Google's ads in your blog. I'm already getting lots of traffic to my blogs and sites, so link to me. You'll have what is called "an outbound link". This helps you get traffic. Just make sure that your content is professional and unique. send me a link to http://www.blogger.com/thefighter@bellsouth.net
If the link doesn't work, please copy and paste into your "compose message" field.
so that I can approve it...Oh yeah, it needs to be related. In turn, I will link to you-- an inbound link (that helps you build traffic).

Go to: and open up a free account. Browse for products that you can promote and feel good about. You may get commissions as high as $75 per sale.

Go to: Amazon.com and become an affiliate with them. You may have to apply first and wait and check your e mail. It's worth applying.

Add related affiliate links to your text as I did above.

Get an auto responder. They're cheap. You'll build up a list. If you can't afford it, add the "subscribe to this blog" gadget to your blog.

If you ask yourself this question: "I just don't know what to write about", remember point number 2 above: "Unique Content".

This is your niche ( a specialty corner of any market that promises to be lucrative).
Further ask yourself: "What do I know?" You must work somewhere or have worked somewhere. Maybe all that you really know about well is "How to care for lawns and gardens". Then, write about that! It's possible that you're a Pro on that without you even knowing it. How many friends have asked for your advice on Lawns and gardens? Well, if you're somewhat of an expert at it, then write about it. The only difference here is that someone out there will be willing to pay for your useful information.

Mental preparation:

There are those who give up before they even start. I jokingly call this "MAFS"= Mentally Anticipated Fatigue Syndrome. My employees laugh about this one. When I point it out, they laugh and knock it off because it's ridiculous. So don't sell yourself short on what you can do.

Think BIG. If you think you'll make lots of money by writing an article here and there, five minutes a day, you're setting yourself up for big disappointments. Blogging successfully requires volume and dedication, despite what you've been led to believe. Human nature tends to take the path of least resistance. That's all fine and beautiful if it were true. many marketers know and exploit this and create sensational headlines such as "Make lots of money with your computer working only 30 minutes a day". Then the unsuspecting seeker of the road most traveled (the path of least resistance) will buy into empty promises.

So be prepared to work hard by researching, learning, applying what you've learned, getting results, tabulating them and reinforcing what works and what doesn't. If you don't do this, as sure as the leaves fall in the winter off the trees and whither and die, so will you--- at any activity.

This is a very challenging economy. Not too long ago, easy credit and speculation created artificial booms. Some speculators amassed fortunes at the expense of the gullible. The natural cycle of production, I have given you above. I suggest you apply it industriously.

There is no "magic system". The only "magic" is you. The more YOU that is put into your writing, the more unique it will be and the more successful.

For the long run

If you intend to do this for a while, I suggest the following:

1. Learn Copy writing: Killer Ads

2. Research your head off. Find out what works and copy from success. Quickly drop what doesn't work.

3. Network with other similar beings to you. Social networking sites might be useful, but I've found them to be a distraction. Most everyone there wants to sell you crap. So try to stay away from there. If you must, try twitter.

4. take baby steps before you take giant ones. For instance, don't try to become an HTML expert or FTP (File Transfer Protocol) expert before you make your first few cents or dollars.
I didn't get complex until I made my first money from Adsense, not much, but it was something. I said: "Wow...this is for real! Build on your success, ignore your failures and move on.

5. Stay organized as you get better. It's very frustrating to try to find in your "favorites" a course you wanted to buy, but cannot find now. So organize as you go.

So if you're not lazy, want to make some bucks and can add unique content as above, then blog your heart out.
