Step up and say something, Jesse Jackson Jr. The congressman is still under investigation. Last week, he won his re-election while he was still in Mayo Clinic. In recovery for bipolar disorder, Jackson has stayed away from the public view for months. Little word has been said about his condition or when he might return to work.

In Chicago, speculations swirl around the media about Jesse Jackson Jr. Current news states he is under investigation for misuse of campaign funds. Now they are investigating his wife, Sandi Jackson.

It is likely Jackson may have to resign from Congress.

The New York Daily News states, "Although Jackson, who now receives treatment at the Mayo Clinic for bipolar disorder, won reelection easily, he faces jail and the loss of his pension over his misuse of campaign funds to decorate his home and splurge on a $40,000 Rolex for a female friend."

Now is the time to step up and say something. The congressman took his medical leave early last summer. After his election win he issued a written statement saying, "My deep and sincere thanks to the people of the 2nd Congressional District, I am humbled and moved by the support shown today."

According to the published statement by NBC Chicago, Jackson said, "Everyday, I think about your needs and concerns. Once the doctors approve my return to work, I will continue to be the progressive fighter you have known for years. My family and I are grateful for your many heartfelt prayers and kind thoughts. I continue to feel better everyday and look forward to serving you."

So what happens next for the congressman? Perhaps now is the time to step up to the plate. The voters have kept him in office; they care and, they want to know.

The 2012 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour kicked off in Tampa, FL on June 2. The country duo, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, have reunited for this tour and they are coming to Chicago this summer.

"Tim and I have been great friends since we first toured together, and I can't wait to get back on the road with him," Chesney said. "He's one of my closest friends in music and in life, and I know this tour is going to be something special. Technically I am closing, but Tim and I are going to give the fans their money's worth."

Chicago fans are excited to see the country duo come to Soldier Field in July.

On Sat. July 7, the 'Brothers of the Sun Tour' will arrive in Chicago.

Chicago goes green for St. Patrick's Day

Every St. Patrick’s Day city officials dye the river green. Since 1962, Chicago has colored its river green to mark the holiday.

A tradition started by accident when plumbers were using fluorescein dye to trace illegal substances polluting the river.

Coloring the water with an orange dye creates the Irish green look. Witnessing the act one wonders.

The dye is orange; its initial color on the river’s surface is orange; and then the true color of green magically appears.

Rich in history, filled with stories, the Chicago River runs 156 miles. It’s the only river in the world which flows backwards.

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich gets 14 years

As he handed down sentencing, Judge Zagel said, “The governor’s good works don’t offset his criminal conduct. Now it’s too late. It never should have reached this point.”

The judge continued in his comments towards Rod Blagojevich, “Your personality is not suitable for public service, the impatience, the endless talking and the need for praise.”

Zagel sentenced the former Illinois Governor to 168 months which equals to almost 14 years in prison.

Saturday marks the one year anniversary in the death of Cubs legend, Ron Santo.

This weekend, he is back in the news with a possible induction into Baseball's Hall of Fame.

The former third baseman and Cubs' broadcaster passed away before ever seeing himself in the Hall of Fame.

Although it would have been a great honor to him, Santo found his greatest honor the day his No. 10 jersey was retired.

Today is December 3, 2011 and Chicago reflects on the passing of Ron Santo with the possible induction into the Hall of Fame.

Perhaps, Santo will finally get the respect and honor he deserves.

According to statistics and other weighing factors, Illinois data represents the following:
> State debt per capita: $4,424 (13th highest)
> Pct. without health insurance: 13.8% (23rd lowest)
> Pct. below poverty line: 13.1% (25th lowest)
> Unemployment: 10% (10th highest)

Illinois has fallen from 43rd last year to the overall second-worst run state in the country. The state performs poorly in most categories, but is worst when it comes to its credit rating.

Illinois has a credit rating of A+, the second worst given to any state, behind only California. The state has been on credit watch since 2008 because of budget shortfalls and legal challenges against then-governor Rod Blagojevich.

She is travelling across America visiting 11 cities to promote the release of her new album, titled, "Eleven".

New book details life of Walter Payton's alleged drug abuse and adultery

In the unauthorized biography of Chicago Bears' greatest running back, Walter Payton is described as a man who abused prescription painkillers, had extramartial affairs and suffered with suicidal thoughts.

The book titled, “Sweetness: The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton” written by Jeff Pearlman uncovers details about Payton's personal struggles.

It took almost 3 years to complete and the author says he interviewed over 600 people for the book.

The controversial book alleges Payton misused painkillers like Vicodin and Darvon. Popping them like they "were a snack" as the author describes Payton's misuse.

The book also reveals Payton's adulterous affairs and his struggles with depression and suicide. It's not a pretty picture for the Hall of Fame NFL player.

Any sports fan will tell you they love their team because of great plays, great comebacks, winning records, high hitting stats, and the players themselves. For a Cubs fan, they ride a roller coaster. Each year, hoping their team will take it all the way. The world series? Maybe this year? If it doesn't happen, the famous words are, we always have next year.

As for this year? Well this year is different in that we don't have our beloved Ron Santo. Last December, Ron Santo passed away. His voice on the radio will be missed and his legacy lives on in Wrigley Field.

For a Chicago Cubs fan, this year is about making it happen for Ronnie.. Come on Cubs, let's go! This one's for Ron.
