Countryside of Rajgad Surrounding is so panoramic & scenic. Paddy fields, Surrounding mountains and small streams so refreshing. You can approach Raigad from four side, Bhor, Bhatgahar backwater to Bhutonde to Rajag, or from Narsapur phata to Gunjavane. Or To reach Rajgad get down to Vinzhar, Pabe village on the Pune-Velhe road. Other ways to reach Rajgad are by - From Shivthar Ghal via Gopya Ghat, From Torana to Rajgad, By Gunjawane Darwaja, By Chor Darwaja and By Pali Darwaja.

Kenjalgad Aka Mohangad

The fort has three large water tanks about forty feet square and six small ones for storage of water and grain. But there is no living spring inside the fort. The largest tank is in the southern face and is quite thirty feet deep. The tanks were emptied when the fort was dismantled by blowing up the outer sides which were formed by the ramparts and letting the water empty itself down the hill side. On the west is a sort of nose projecting beyond and a little lower than the main ridge of the fort, also strongly fortified. There is a narrow promenade on the ridge at the foot of the scarp and on the north side is a large cave with excellent water and partly used for storage purposes.

This Photos were clicked from inside of Gol Ghumat Darga Junnar. That was the first time I tried inside out snaps with shutter off. Those images are not so clear cause I kept my machine was in auto mode to avoid the blurriness. Inside out photography need more in depth knowledge how to adjust the exposure of light.

Kalavantin Durg is adjacent to Prabalgad fort. On the Mumbai Pune express highway one can take the Shedung exit. Shedung is the base village of Prabal and Kalavantin forts. The trek is a 3 hours climb from here. You need to trek up the machi and from the village on machi there are rock cut steps which lead us to the top of the fort.

The temple of Dholya Ganapati is located along the Krishna River in wai village near mahableshwar. This place is really beautiful, you always find the river side ghaat busy with people, few of them come here for washing cloths, children trying their swimming, tourist observing this human created situation and wondering how this place is still make the difference.
