...Well not entirely.

I'm getting more serious about making films among other things and finding myself with very little time to post anything good here in months. All I ever seem to do around here is post nothing but half-ass items and no blog on schlock should treat their readers with garbage like that.

So after a long period of questioning what to do; I decided that I will no longer update this blog any longer. I would rather end it while it still can instead of letting it drag on slowly like a dying patient in a intensive care unit who refuses to die. Instead, I will just stop updating it and let it stand as an archive of sorts for anyone who wants to go back to the years of schlock that I tried to share.

I want to thank everyone who has dropped by over the years and those who stuck with the blog for that long as well, and to everyone who was a fan and added a link to their blogs.

But like I said in the beginning I'm not gone entirely. You can still follow my exploits here or learn a new skill here at my other blog. In a sense I'm still active in schlock but instead of showing the works of others I'm actually going to try and make my own and hopefully you can follow along.

Also don't forget to check out the many awesome blogs listed on the sidebar who are doing a far better job at keeping the love of schlock alive.

Rob Zombie's comic book/cartoon creation finally has found a direct to dvd release date. The film is expected to hit shelves on September 22nd this year.

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS ON OCT. 20

A NEW SPIN ON THE WORD PULP

Here's a new way to read in the bathroom; Koji Suzuki, the man behind films such as THE RINGU and DARK WATER, has come out with a new novella.

However, what makes it unique is that the entire thing is printed in a roll of toilet paper. This is certainly puts a whole new meaning to the word pulp.

The plot is related to Japanese superstitions that evil spirits are lurking in the bathroom similar to the Bloody Mary urban tales here in the States.

I am attempting to amass a large collection of portraits of Frankenstein's Monster in as many different styles and in as many different media as possible as an ongoing art project. The only stipulation is that the size is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (standard artist trading card size) and that each card has name, date, location, title and anything else you care to add on the back.

I welcome cards from both amateur and professional artists.

I will be leaving blank cards with instructions and mailing address in galleries, colleges, art shops, on buses, handing them out in the street and wherever else I can think of.

PLATOON OF THE DEAD

Fellow filmmaker, pulpster, and a all around great guy, Joe Sherlock, has been posting production journal entries to a zombie flick with a great title, PLATOON OF THE DEAD.

The film is directed by John Bowker with Sherlock as cinematographer among many other hats that he had to wear during making the making of this film.

Apparently, before I had whiskers on my ol' chin, there was a 1987 Tv version of THE SPIRIT.

The sad news is that it never went beyond that. Although gold stars for sticking closer to the source material and costume design.
