No Longer Deleting This Blog

I am taking back my words on deleting this blog. Just when I thought of totally erasing this blog in the web, opportunities came in. Thanks to those advises I received these past few days about keeping this blog. I am not paying this blog anyway instead, I am making extra income. So why not keep it?

Anyway, I would like to share the latest scrap book design I created out of Delicious Scraps' embellishments that I downloaded for free.

I created this so use as a cover photo on my Facebook account. I am trying my best to get back in scrap booking as I've lost interest in it these past months. Hopefully, I'll be inspired to create more of this in the future.

Latest Layout Tweaks for Geraldine, Shengkay and Sarah

I've been busy lately tweaking blog layouts. Thanks to these friends who reached out on me and trusted me in customizing their blogger blog layouts.

Here are my latest layout tweaks:

Geraldine's Embracing my Past, Present and Future Life was the first layout-template I tweak upon my come-back in blog layout designing. Geraldine has been an avid fan of my design, as what she said. I know it is true for she has been a returning costumer of my blog layout tweaking/designing service. Thank you for trusting me Ge. Here is the screen shot of the layout on her actual blog.

This time for her new theme, she requested a color combination of navy blue and light red from the old purple-white combo, which I also designed about eight months ago.

Shengkay made a blog for her cute daughter - her rainbow called Iris Joehanna's World, it was my second blog tweaking job. This blog of Sheng's as well the second blog tweaking service I made for her for I was the one who tweaked her other blog, the home of Orange Tuesdays few months ago, which was the last layout job I did before my computer crashed and had corrupted all the installed software I needed for blog tweaking.

Anyway, you might wonder why there are two layouts. The first layout I made, as per the blog owner's request was to have both sidebars on the left. But at the last minute, Shengkay decided to have them on both sides making the posts located in the center and making its background light pink. So here comes the new layout design - the "all pink combo". I can say the color is perfect for a cute baby girl's blog.

Above is the screen shot of Shengka's rainbow's newly tweaked blog. I would like to thank Shengkay for trusting me with her blog layout for the second time.

The last and definitely won't be the least layout tweaking job I did was Sarah's Bloggista Momma. Sarah had been contacting me many months back regarding my service and few weeks ago, I finally got the time to entertain her queries. She asked me to tweak Blogista Momma, which used to be called Journey for Life. She recently changed its blog name into a new one because she is now a mother and a blogger. I personally find the new blog name cool and is appropriate to her new role in life.

Below is the screen shot of her blog after the installation of her new layout.

Sarah requested a brown-light brown-white color combination for backgrounds and black-pink-green for font colors. It took me quite a while to figure out a perfect blend of colors and gladly after two weeks, I came up with this neat theme. And when I send Sarah the copy of the whole layout, she immediately demanded for installation to my surprise. Thank you so much Sarah.

Blog Update and The New Look of My New Blog

This blog had been quite for a while because I have rested from making scrap books. I did plan to come back to scrap booking hobby but now that the laptop where I installed the software for making scrap book layouts is not working, there's no way I can make one layout in the following days. I'm just glad I was able to finish the layout for my blog Unmasked Thoughts which is now named Unmasked Thoughts on Fun and Entertainment.

How to create Facebook banners using Photoscape?

I am a curious cat. I won't stop researching, learning and analyzing until I learn what I am curious to learn about. Lately, Facebook banners had been bugging my thoughts. How to create my own? I thank Photoscape for helping me throughout the process of creating one. I used Photoscape Editor and Splitter in the process.

How did I make a Facebook banner using the free photo editing software, Photoscape?

1. Designing/resizing your banner. Using Photoscape photo editor, you can design and resize your banner. You have options: either you resize first the background of the banner then add your design/personalization or you add your design and personalization on your background first before resizing. The background should be a long rectangle. I did the first option.

- I made a long rectangle by clicking on ‘object’ then the ‘square’ icon in the editor.
- I resized it into 485x68 pixels.
- Then I added personal touches to it - a cropped picture of my eyes and texts.
- Then I saved it.

2. Resizing your banner. If you have already finalized your design, you can then resize. Simply click on ‘resize’ button found in editor. Uncheck preserve resize ratio so you can input the right FB banner size which is 485width x 68height and then click save.

3. Splitting your your banner. Navigate back to the home menu of Photoscape by clicking Photoscape option located at the upper left. Then click on 'splitter'.

While in the splitter, add your saved custom banner then set the columns to 5 and row to 1. After that, click SPLIT and then save as to a desired folder or use photoscape default folder - output by simply clicking save and ok.

Then upload it to your album in Facebook and tag yourself. I am sure you know how to tag the split photos for your banner to work. For those who do not know, I'll make a separate post about it.

Mothers' Day Facebook Banner

I celebrated mothers’ day on Facebook. I greeted my mother through Faceboook banner, which I customized myself. Although my mother will never get to see it, at least I had everyone seen it. Thanks to this new creation that is shared online. And being curious as I always am, I thought of creating one myself. It’s a new knowledge I learned lately and with the help of a photo editing software called Photoscape, I successfully created my own personalized Facebook banner for the Mothers’ Day.

New Look for Chuchie's Hideway And The 7 Commenters

Finally, I'm done re-tweaking Chuchie's Hideway. I am hoping to stick to this new layout this time. I mentioned in that blog about my problem with the layout, it is the bad use of color. I made it a bit darker, which I didn't seem to notice at the time I created it. So here's my new simple layout. The lightness of the color had my eyesight's approval.

And here is the badge. While I had the badge hosted to a photo host, in photobucket, I got curious on how to automatically change the badge without the need to ask the bloggers who have exchanged badge with mine to replace the old code of my badge to a new one. After several tries and enduring headaches, I finally figured out how. I will post about it next post.

Now for my top commenters, I have only 7 commenters here, which means i only have 7 commenters for the whole month of April. It's not new. This blog had been an outcast in the blog land since the most popular scrap booking meme was closed two ago, if I am not mistaken.

Changes In The Blog Header

Have you noticed the changes in the blog header? Some of you may have and some may have not noticed, it's alright. There is no big deal in it anyway. I only added wordings to the blog title to specify what this blog really is about.

These past few days, I was very close to ending the life of this blog in the blog land for only very seldom I update this blog. Also, I lost appetite in scrap booking or should I say I lost my creativity with it. I know it really comes into the life of scrap booker when she/he runs out of inspiration.

To those who kept visiting this boring site of mine, thank you so much. I'll try my best to update this blog from now on even at least once or twice a week.

Also, I'll acknowledge my top commenters for the month of April next post. Tsk, I can't believe I didn't update this blog that long. Check out the previous post. Lol!

Sunshine's Comfort Zone Blog Tweak

I've mentioned Sunshine in my other blog. She's my closest friend since high school. Well, we're a little blood related so no wonder we are close despite the differences and the little and big fights we've had. We still get back to each other. Recently, I bugged her about starting her own blog since she has a lot to blog about. She loves to travel to beautiful places and it is in the beach the she loves to be at the most. She had finally gave in to my bugging and eventually became my online friend. Come and visit her at her Comfort Zone.

Being a beach lover that she is, I created this simple layout for her blog. I snatched three of her photos off her FB photo album and stamped them on the header.

I'm just glad she liked it. It may be simple but I made sure it fits to her personally. According to her after seeing the layout "this is so me!". Thank you so much my new blogging sis for liking me work. I am always open whenever you want new changes on your online page. Welcome to the blog land!

Geraldine's Blog Newly Tweaked

Geraldine of Embracing my Past, Present, and Future Life got her blog tweaked again. This time she challenged me to use purple and any color that could mix with it nicely. After almost a month I think, I finally came up with a design, which is shown below.

It took me a month to finish the design because I had issues with my computer. I had to reboot my computer and as a result I lost all the softwares needed to design a blog layout not to mention the lose of graphics I've already downloaded. I am just glad that Geraldine was patient enough to wait for me to finish the design. Thank you so much for trusting me again with blog tweaking.

My New Blogs

Hello everyone! I would like to invite you to visit my new blogs from a different Google account, the newest on my block.

The first blog is a pet blog. This blog was created on 2008 as 'My Diary' but I forgot about this blog. I never updated it as I've been busy with my main blogs on my main account. When I checked on my other account yesterday, I thought of just changing the settings of 'My Diary' and decided to use it as a pet blog instead. So, here goes my pet blog, Chiz Dogz.

The second blog was just created a while ago. I thought of creating this blog to use that custom domain that I got for free, which supposed to be used for Chuchie's Hideaway. If you've read my posts in there, you would know the reasons why I didn't continue using the said domain for my hideaway. So today, the newest blog of mine is born, A Wife's Online Abode.

These blogs are both using blogger platform. For now, I'll just settle with their current 2-column blog layout because I like both designs. I got this free Wordpress layout, which can also be used for blogger blogs, from blogger themes. There are lots of cool layouts in there. Go visit if you want one to beautify your blog.

My Hideaway is Now on Its Own Domain

I am like starting back to zero with my main website, the hideaway. I finally changed its link today from default to a custom domain. It’s a risk I know but it’s a risk worth taking. I do feel sad that after almost three years of working on that personal online page and developing its readership to keep and earn a higher page rank, I finally gave it all up and started anew. I feel like starting a new life again in my hideaway. Although I lost its page rank, I believe I’ll get it back eventually. I’ll just have to keep doing what I’ve been doing like updating it everyday.

Now, that I got its default domain changed to a custom one, I thought of changing its look too. I thought of making a new layout for it, a much better layout and a professional-looking logo. It’s a new page now so it deserves a new look. What do you think? Having a website is like having a business. You have to beautify its structure, produce quality products and services and then brand it. And to brand your business, you have to get a service from a professional logo designer. A logo must stand out and must represent what your business can offer. Just like having a website, you must beautify its layout, produce good write-ups and then brand it.

Recent Changes on my Photo Blog's Layout

I did few changes to my photo blog's layout - Chie's Camera Works. The previous layout has a lot of shadows and I found it gross on actual view. So, I took the shadows and added few touches to the layout. I like how it looks now. It is a lot better than the old one although much simpler.

I thank glittergraphics for the beautiful background. It is where I got that gray bamboo background. I also added a quote on the header that says "Look, I am not an intellectual - I just take pictures" by Helmut Newton. Thanks to the quote, it describes best my level in my photography. Sisterly Love Scrap Layouts
