Was always one of my favorite actors. Everyone remembers "Blade Runner" but Rutger Hauer was so much more than that. Hopefully all those other gems Rutger left us will be remembered and appreciated. Never heard any of his thespian peers say a single bad word about him.

Hauer worked with Paul Verhoeven on some Dutch films and that's really how he got going. "Hobo With a Shotgun" was one of his more recent that was good. "The Mill and the Cross". Sure there were some B-movies in there, but MOST of Hauer's were the "good kind" of B-movies. It pays to just go down his filmography list and watch them all---it's a huge body of work. A true artist---may God rest his soul and remember all the joy he brought to the world.
