The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents;

CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD

1. Objective

The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents;

and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60% or more marks and are continuing

their further school education of Class XI and XII. The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students.

As per the approval of the Competent Authority dated 23.07.2012, all children born together are Single Girl Child of their parents.

2. Allocation of scholarship

The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable and shall be awarded to all such "Single Girl Students" who have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination in that year.

3. Eligibility criteria

The scholarship shall be given on the basis of merit list as stated in Para 2 above, from the result of CBSE Class X Examination. The eligibility criteria shall be as under:

i) All Single Girl Students, who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class X Examination and are studying Class XI & XII in School (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year, shall be considered for the purpose.

In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.

NOTE: NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award.

The tuition fee for the NRIs has been decided maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month.

ii) The scholarship shall be awarded to Indian Nationals only.

iii) The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in school as stated above in para 3(i).

iv) Candidate who have passed CBSE Class X Examination in 2019 will be considered.

v) A Scholar under the scheme while availing scholarship can enjoy other concession(s) given by the school in which she is studying other organization(s).

4. Duration of scholarship and its renewal

i) The Scholarship awarded shall be renewed for a period of one year i.e. successful completion of class XI. Renewal shall also depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examination which determines her promotion to next class.

ii) The renewal/ continuation of the scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if she changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship. The decision of the Board shall be final and binding in all such matters. A Scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.

5. Rate of Scholarships and mode of payment

The rate of scholarship shall be Rupees Five Hundred (Rs. 500/-) per month. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years.

Payment will be made through ECS/NEFT.

6. Selection Procedure

a) Student should have passed Class X Examination from the CBSE and secured 60%

or more marks.

b) Pursuing Class XI & XII from CBSE affiliated Schools.

c) Student(Girl) should be ONLY CHILD of their parents.

d) Original Affidavit duly attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/

Executive Magistrate/Notary as per prescribed format available on the Board’s

website. (Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted).

e) Undertaking should be attested by the School Principal from where the student is

pursuing Class XI after passing Class X from Board’s Examination.

f) Tuition fee should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and 10%

enhancement for Class XI & XII.

7. Jurisdiction of Courts/ Tribunals

a) A Scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.

b) The decision of the Chairperson of the Board shall be final and binding in all such matters.

c) Any resultant dispute arising out of this scholarship scheme shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the court situated in Delhi/ New Delhi only.

Avoid touching your face and eyes.
Use Hand Sanitizer.
Keep atleast 6 ft. Distance from other people.

Our Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Damodardas Modi lockdown the country on 23rd of March to stop the infection. It was a 21 day lockdown but cases of infected people did not stopped so on 14th april which is yesterday and the day lockdown supposed to end, Our Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Damodardas Modi has extended the Lockdown till 3rd of May.

So this time is hard for us, our studies is suffering but we have enough time period and we should take full benefit of each second. All of the exams including competitive has postponed so mates this is our time. Just use every second and get what you dreamed all of this time. So will see you in next blog.

ECSS (Education Crisis Scholarship support) is an initiative by HDFC bank to provide financial support to the students who face some personal/economic exigency. Economic hardship or a crisis in the family sometimes has a direct impact on the education of children, often resulting in the child dropping out of school/college/university.

ECSS aims to cover students from recognized Private or Government aided schools between standards 6 and 12 and students studying in undergraduate and post-graduate courses (full-time/part-time degree/diploma/ courses) who due to personal/family crises are unable to continue bearing the cost of education and are at risk of dropping out of school/college/university.

This situation would be defined as bereavement/death/ terminal illness/permanent disability and loss of job of the breadwinner due to accident or any such extreme circumstances that have put a strain on the family resources.

Scholarship will cover the total annual School Fee upto a maximum of Rs.10,000/- and College/University Fee upto a maximum of Rs.25,000/- of the selected candidates.

Guidlines to fill up the application form

Ensure that the form is complete along with the necessary attachments.
Incomplete forms will be rejected
Students submitting online application are NOT required sending hard copy of same
Economic difficulties in itself will not qualify as a crisis unless the same is due to the occurrence of a sudden incident such as loss of job/death/separation of parents or any such unfortunate situation
A 'CRISIS' situation is defined as a sudden occurrence of an incident that has created a situation where the student/family requires support
The incident leading to a crisis should be within the preceding two years
Please clearly mention details of the situation in the relevant sections to enable better understanding of the need
Ensure that the contact numbers of both the student and the educational institute are valid as a verification call will be made to these numbers
Inability to respond to the verification call may lead to rejection of the application
Please read the FAQs for details on eligibility criteria and application process
Ensure that the name of the institute’s account (in which the cheque needs to be drawn) is mentioned correctly.
Fresh cheques will not be issued if names are found incorrect

1. Who can apply for a Scholarship under ECSS?

Schools students from Government aided or Private school in classes 6 to 12
College students pursuing Under-graduate/Post-graduate Fulltime/Part-time Degree/ Diploma courses in colleges or universities recognized under UGC/AICTE/State/Central Government rules and guidelines
Students having an annual family income of not more than Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs only)
Students undergoing a crisis situation

2. What will be considered as a crisis?
A crisis situation is defined as a:

Sudden occurrence of an incident that has created a situation where the student/family requires support
Sudden job loss
Sudden death/separation of parents
Accident/death of siblings
Sudden onset of a critical or life threatening illness

The incident leading to a crisis should be within the preceding two years

3. What is the last day for the application?

The application window will be open from 1st May, 2015 to 5th July, 2015

4. What is the selection process?

Received applications will be assessed on the basis of the criteria defined by HDFC Bank’s management. Students will be selected basis the score that they receive on the selection parameters. While every effort will be made to ensure a fair screening, the management reserves the right to decide the final recipients.

5. How many students per family can apply?

Only one application per family will be considered for the scholarship.

6. Can an existing ECSS scholar re-apply?

The Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of two years only. The students is required to re-apply and requalify each year

8. What are the annexures and documents that are required?

The following documents need to be attached to the Application form:

Annexure I (A) – Income proof from the employer duly signed and stamped by the concerned authority along with the salary slip (if any) OR Annexure I (B) –Self declaration of family income (for self employed)
Annexure II (A)- Verification form duly signed and stamped by School Principal along with last year’s final (annual) examination mark sheet OR Annexure II (B) - Verification form duly signed and stamped by College Principal/University Dean/Director along with last year’s final (annual) examination mark sheet
Documents - Attested copies of last year’s mark sheet, two copies of address proof and salary slip (if any).

9. Does the application form have to be verified by the HDFC Bank branch?

Branch verification is required only for a physical form submission. Verification by the HDFC Bank branch is not required for an online application submission.

10. When will the Scholarship be announced? Will the applicants be intimated?

The final list of scholarships will be uploaded on the Bank’s website by the 25th August 2015. Selected students will receive SMS on the number registered with us.

11. What is the scholarship amount that a student will be granted?

The students’ annual academic fee upto a maximum of Rs.10,000/- for school students and upto a maximum of Rs.25,000/- to the selected college/university students will be sponsored.

12. Can the Scholarship be transferred in case of change in school/college/university?

The scholarship is non-transferable. In such cases the scholarship will be cancelled and the student will have to re-apply.

13. How will the scholarship be disbursed?

A cheque in favour of the educational institute (as mentioned in the application form) will be sent to the nearest HDFC Bank Branch (as mentioned in the application). The respective institutes will receive intimation by mail, with a copy to the student.

Note: To ensure that the cheque is dispatched correctly ensure that the Branch details are mentioned in the application form.
14. How will the selected students be informed?

The final list of selected students will be uploaded on www.hdfcbank.com/scholarship. Shortlisted scholars will also receive a confirmation on the numbers mentioned in the application.Candidates, who do not receive any communication by 10th September, 2015 must assume that their applications have not been successful.

15. When will the payment be dispatched?

Scholarship cheques will be dispatched by 20th September,2015 by us at the branches mentioned on the application form. The branch will contact the selected students/school/college/university for collecting the scholarship cheque. You will not be contacted if you are not selected for the scholarship.

16. What are the post disbursal formalities Do I need to submit a confirmation letter after receiving the scholarship amount?

The students/Institutes collecting the cheque will be required to provide an undertaking to the branch confirming receipt of the amount. Students may also receive verification calls from the Branch.

CBSE has announced the scholarship scheme for those students who have passed +2 examination in 2012 and last date for applying is 31st October 2012.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Scheme is given below:

Applicant should be an indian citizen.
Applicants should have passed Senior School Certificate
Examination Conducted by CBSE 2012.
Science Stream applicants should have secured minimum 418 marks (in 1st five subjects) , Commerce applicants should have secured minimum 396 (in 1st five subjects) and other should have minimum 332 (in 1st five subjects).
Applicant should be pursuing higher studies and should have taken admission to under graduate regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized Educational Institutions in India
The applicant should not be availing any other scholarship
Total Annual Income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh per annum
The applicant should not belong to creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time. (Govt. of India, Dept. of Per. & Trg., OM No. 36033/S/2004-Estt. (Res.), dated 14-10-2004)

(This is applicable to all categories of applicants both ‘general’ and ‘reserved’)

Scholarship amount

Graduation

Rs.1000/- per month* for three years

To be disbursed lump sum Amount of Rs.10,000/- at end of academic year.

For 4th and 5th year of Professional Courses @ Rs 2000/- per month.

Post Graduation

(Other than that of the professional courses)

Rs 2000/- per month for two years after Graduation

To be disbursed lump sum Amount of Rs.20,000/- at end of academic year.

Mode Of Disbursal of Scholarship

Scholarship amount shall be sent to the selected candidate’s Bank Account only by ECS (Electronic Clearing System) mode.
Applicants are requested to open Bank Account in his/her name in a branch of any Scheduled Nationalised/ commercial Bank which has ECS facility.
Applicants are advised to provide their Bank Account number, Bank Name and detail address of the Bank and the correct RTGS/NEFT branch code of the Bank.
No request for sending the amount of scholarship by Draft or in account of parents or joint account will be entertained

Renewal of Scholarship

Applicant has to apply on separate renewal form.
Applicant should have passed in all the subjects in semester/annual examinations with more than 60 % marks in the aggregate of 2 semester or annual examinations and have maintained 75 % attendance, good discipline and not involved in ragging activities etc.
Scholarship once cancelled will not be revived under any circumstances.

The Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India have notified that the Central Board of Secondary Education shall be the organization to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses.

Accordingly, the Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in the academic session 2013-14 on Sunday, the 05th May, 2013.

Admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in the institutions approved by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India are subject to merit position of candidates in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (Under-Graduate), 2013.
