The availability of this DLC with a pre-order may depend on what country you live in, so make sure to check in with your local game store or online retailer before purchasing. It's been quite the time for Resident Evil. Movies,games, and so much more. Not everything was as exciting as we wanted it to be but they are trying to recitfy the problem by bringing a fan favorite game to consoles. Resident Evil Revelations is on its way and we have a new game play trailor to check out...

Who doesn't love the walking dead? If I were writing the show it would just be about Glenn, Maggie, Daryl and Carol. They're all such Bad Ass characters. And especially since Daryl is the fan favorite amongst women, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them in other media. Well ladies you can start by watching Daryl Dixon as voiced by Norman Reedus along with his brother, Meryl, the evil Michael Rooker, in the new video game the Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Read on for the details...

Survival Instinct will take place before the series and follow Daryl and Meryl as they attempt to reach the safety of the Atlanta. Boy that was just not a good idea for anyone... Terminal reality wants to create one engrossing reality and by nailing down the voice talents of Norman and Michael, they are doing just that.

I love The Walking Dead. Not as much as I love Deadworld, but close. It's continues to surprise me and though I'm not a fan of the comic, I will play the game. Here is the word from the press release:

It's been an information filled Halloween season so far with no letting up it seems. Now we have new news on what they are planing mechanics wise and it sounds like a great addition. Read on for details...

Sebastian Reichert, Deep Silver’s creative Producer, sat down with VG247 2 and a little more insight as to whats in store.

“… the request from the fans after the success of Dead Island was very clear – they want more and they want it now! However, creating a whole new setting will take a lot of time. So the question shifted to ‘do we have enough ideas in the same setting to offer another great experience, or do we have to shift the setting to deliver a full experience?’ Dead Island: Riptide is the answer to that. We changed the setting partially, built in new features fitting to this different environment and now we make sure the experience rocks again.”

“There will be a new character, and yes we have a lot of ideas as mentioned before. There will be whole lot more to do. One small example would be that the game now tracks which weapons you use and mirrors that in your proficiency with those weapons.”

Really loving the idea of gaining proficiency with the weapons we actually use rather than across the board.

Can't wait to get my hands on this.

I LOVE Silent Hill and because I do, I don't trip when things don't go according to plan. I am one of the people who have been waiting patiently for a patch for Downpour since I first picked it up. Now we are not only getting a fix, but some improvements as well. Get ready to get happy...

It is a little curious why this is timed with the release of the movie, but I'm a cynic. Here you go:

“Today, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced a patch and product update for Silent Hill: Downpour, the critically acclaimed survival horror title, originally released in March. The online patch, available via XBOX Live, enhances the gameplay experience by improving features and bugs within the game, including, but not limited to:

Improved frame rate
Fixed save game system
Fixed bugs in “Homeless” side quest/mission
Several other performance enhancements/bug fixes

A PlayStation 3 patch is currently in development and will be released in the coming weeks.
KONAMI also announced today that Silent Hill: Downpour is going to be available for download, via XBOX Live Games on Demand, beginning on October 30 for $39.99.”

I still have to wait since I am a PS guy, but that's OK. I'm knee deep in Silent Hill Homecoming right now anyway. Good things instore.

I'm an avid gamer, but a niche gamer as well. I mostly play horror titles with the occasional action shoot em up. My favorite though, are zombie games. I couldn't wait for Dead Island, it had so much going on. I must admit that I've had a bitch of a time due to motion sickness with this game and this one only, but to hell with it, I'm down for a sequel. Now we have one. Read on for the details.

LARKSPUR, CA – AUGUST 31, 2012 — Deep Silver today revealed the first details about the next installment in the Dead Island™ franchise, coming to stores in 2013.

Having survived the ordeals of the zombie infestation on the once beautiful island resort of Banoi, our group of survivors thought they had finally found a safe place to escape from this terrifying nightmare. But they were wrong. Shortly after the battle-hardened team had landed their helicopter on a military ship, a furious storm hits and havoc quickly spreads on board. Suddenly they find themselves struggling for their lives again with all hope drowning in the rising waves.

With invigorating new elements infused into a proven mix, Dead Island Riptide will reanimate the zombie terror in the original game. A monsoon has hit the once beautiful archipelago and heavy rainstorms have laid waste to large areas of the islands. The city of Henderson and jungle areas on the island of Palanai were flooded leaving boats as the only remaining way of transportation. Dynamic weather conditions will force the team members to adapt to changing visibility conditions.

It is looking good. Deep Silver also announced that starting today those who preorder the game at GameStop, Amazon.com and Best Buy can get an “extremely limited edition Steel Book. Kick ass!

After multiple delays and fan outrage, Silent Hill: Book of Memories is set for release on October 16th. However, the playable demo should be available tomorrow. What's the deal? Read on before you try to open Silent Hill's Book...

Fans have been loosing their minds because of the games dungeon crawler presentation. Let's face it though, you really should play it before you pass judgement. Also, if they released a full on Silent Hill title exclusive to the Vita, they would be mad anyway. I'm on the fence about the Vita so I don't know if I'll be playing it yet.

With less than a month away, Resident Evil 6 is starting to release some of its best secrets. If you've been following the game's development, you already know that for the first time, Resident Evil will have skill points. Today its been revealed that you will be able to purchase a "Lone Wolf" ability. What is it? Read on...

The game will still be played in teams of two but your partner will just be there to help with stuff like opening doors and stuff.I hate having a tag along but I really hate having to compete for kills. I'm not a social gamer and I for one am looking forward to this option.

The Dead Island zombie onslaught is heating up. Really looking forward to this. The original Dead Island trailer was hard hitting death of a family punctuated by the death of their daughter with the help of zombie's of course! The new trailer plays out a scenario just as real. Realizing that people love zombies, COD:Black Ops will have a full on zombie mode this time. What's in store for us? Nothing but flesh eating goodness! Check out the trailer and screen shots below...

Treyarch’s Mark Lamia gave us this tidbit:

“[We have given the] zombie team free reign to do pretty much whatever they want with the mode regardless of the direction the campaign is headed in… It’s a totally different frame of mind when you sitting down to play zombies. It’s you and your friends and its coop and it’s blasting Zombies….Black Ops II has the most ambitious zombies that we have ever created. If you ask zombies players what they want, they want more zombies. They are going to get that, more game modes and more ways to play it,… The multiplayer engine can throw around twice as many shambling corpses at once, and it can handle a co-op tally double that of Black Ops 1′s.”

It's the only reason I even play the game...Awesome!

It looks like the Resident Evil video game series is getting things back to wear we all want them, classic zombie game play. There has been so much Resident Evil stuff lately that I'm wondering if we are indeed gonna have a zombie apocalypse! Anyway, below is the Leon Kennedy/Helena game-play trailer. Soak up the awesomeness.

I Own Call of Duty for one reason and one reason only...Zombies! That special feature proved to be such a hit that when the sequel was announced, they've given it its own fan fare! Below you will find the first teaser for COD: BO ll: Zombies. Whatcha think?

Treyarch has confirmed that the Zombies mode will return for Black Ops II with its own campaign. Its predecessors were Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Digital Celluloid: New Resident Evil 6 Demo coming your way

We're not going to have to wait so long after all to play Resident Evil 6. Turns out that it will be available for download on either PS3 or XBOX 360 very soon. Read on for the details.

From the press release:

“Capcom is pleased to confirm that from September 18, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download a new Resident Evil 6 demo from Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Store. The new demo features completely different content to that contained in the previously released Resident Evil 6 demo exclusive to owners of the Xbox 360 version of Dragon’s Dogma.

Players will be able to dive into content from Resident Evil 6’s three main campaigns, either solo or partnering up via online co-op, and experience firsthand why it is one of this year’s most hotly anticipated titles.

Play as either Leon S. Kennedy or Helena Harper and further explore the dark corridors and moonlit grounds of Ivy University, Jake or Sherry in their mission to the neon-lit streets of Lanshiang as they fight off the J’avo, including their fully mutated forms, or finally, Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans as they head with fellow BSAA team members to the war-ravaged streets of Edonia. The amassed J’avo forces provide a stiff enough challenge, but that’s before the 3-story high B.O.W. Ogroman crashes the party. Select Piers for a slightly different weapons loadout than Chris including a sniper rifle with thermal scope.

Starting with three distinct, yet interwoven story threads, each with their own pair of protagonists for either solo or co-op play, both offline and online, not only will Resident Evil 6 deliver both different perspectives and gameplay styles but, with the introduction of the innovative Crossover mechanic players will be able to team up and share the horror. At key moments during the game, up to four players can join together online to tackle a specific situation, with some stages seeing the usual partnerships swapped to further increase the depth of gameplay.”

Sounds good to me. Looks like I'm not sleeping at all this Halloween season. I'm not a big fan of Chris Redfield. Never have been. It was the one drawback of Resident Evil 5 (well that and the lack of zombies). Looking forward to a new Leon adventure though. Very cool indeed.

It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President's side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

Don't forget that Resident Evil Damnation comes out the25th of September and will bridge the gap between Resident Evil 5 and this one.

It seems that some people couldn't wait and Resident Evil 6 has some how leaked to the streets of Poland. I'm not sure how it could have but take a look for yourself below.

Some how, some way, Resident Evil 6 has leaked. What was originally thought of as a hoax has been confirmed with the release of the opening game play video. I'm not going to place it here because thats just asking for trouble. But follow the link and see it for yourself. NeoGo

I love horror video games. It's about all that I play. And even tough I love Resident Evil and Silent Hill, it would be nice to have more of a selection. It looks like Play Station has answered my prayers with their new title, Until Dawn. Check out the first trailer below, whatcha think?

One night, you and seven other teenagers are on a remote mountain on the anniversary of your friend's mysterious death. The power's out, there's no phone reception and you're trying to get the hot cheerleader to notice you. What could possibly go wrong?

Per the Supermassive website:

Its teen horror so obviously it's isolated, the power's out and the phones don't work! You'll play through the story as multiple characters, sometimes with a friend and sometimes on your own to discover who it is that's intent on killing off you and your friends. It's up to you how you play, so we don't know how your story will go or who'll be there with you at the end.

To play the game you'll use the PS Move controller in a totally natural way. It'll act as your flashlight, guiding your way through the darkness, or when you want to use something the controller will intuitively map your actions in the real world to those of your character's hand in the game world.

It's looking pretty good so far. I'm not sure about the Move=Exclusive controller but I'm down to give it a shot.

Capcom did it's last major push before the release of Resident Evil 6 last week at The Tokyo Game Show! A brand new and dare I say kick ass trailer premiered and you can check it out below...

It seems that the Universal monsters are back with a vengeance. Not only are they coming to Blu-Ray this October but starting this summer, You'll Be able to play the classic monsters in a huge multiplayer online gaming experience. it seems that the universal gods were listening when asked the question: "Where have all the classic monsters gone?"

From the press release:

Bigpoint today released new information about its anticipated free-to-play (F2P) browser-based title, Universal Monsters Online. The game, which Bigpoint is developing in collaboration with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, will enable players to experience Universal’s iconic cast of classic monsters in a highly-competitive Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (Moba) setting.

Taking on the persona of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon – among many other notable monsters from Universal’s rich history – players compete with and against each other in a blend of combat and strategic game play.

Like all Bigpoint titles, Universal Monsters Online will be F2P. In-game currency can be used to purchase items such as new characters (after a free-trial period), unique character skins, and special abilities.

Bigpoint plans to begin closed beta testing shortly, and is now encouraging players to sign-up for early access at: http://www.universalmonstersonline.com/

One of the nice things about this game promises to be the attention to detail Universal and Bigpoint are putting into every facet of the production. Not only will you be able to play the classic monster characters but also great supporting characters like Inspector Krogh from son of Frankenstein! This could be the big push that the Universal Monsters needed to be contenders in today's horror society, after all, there are plenty of horror related Facebook games, but we all know that those games are designed to run your life and none of the characters are as cool as the Frankenstein monster.

I love the Universal Monsters and I hope that this new game helps a whole new generation discover just how cool it is to be undead.

With everything going on this year, I don't know when I'm going to find time to play Resident Evil 6. I guess I won't be sleeping. Along with the mad content previously reported, there are several kick ass downloadable scenarios coming out after its release. What else could they possibly be giving us?

Read on for the details...

Resident Evil 6 is adding three new modes to the mix this time out. This is great because its almost like you are getting 6 or 7 games in one (counting all the pre-packaged content. Beautiful!

From the press release:

Survivors Mode takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.

In Predator Mode, one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.

Choosing the human side in Siege Mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.

Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode.

Players will be able to track their accomplishments in these three modes alongside their main campaign statistics and compare their performance with others by registering on ResidentEvil.Net, the free online service that launches alongside Resident Evil 6.

Further post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 will include additional maps for Mercenaries, which can in turn then be used as maps for Survivors, Predator and Siege modes, plus other items yet to be announced.

In five days Resident Evil Retribution hits theaters. And then, on September 25th, Prepare for Damnation! Resident Evil Damnation, the CGI animated film will bridge the gap between Resident Evil 5 and 6, and comes just in time to set the stage for 6's October 2nd release date. Now we have our first clip entitled "Evacuation". Watch it below.

US government agent Leon S. Kennedy sneaks into the "East Slavic Republic" to verify rumors that Bio Organic Weapons (BOWs) are being used in the country's civil war, which the US and Russia are making preparations to jointly intervene in. Right after his infiltration, the U.S. government orders him to leave immediately. Determined to uncover the truth, Leon ignores the order and enters the battlefield to end the chain of tragedies caused by the BOWs.

Expect more to come as we near the BD/DVD release date.

A while back, Konomi announced a new Silent Hill game : Book of Memories. Cool, right? Not so much. Apparently, Konomi didn't properly communicate with the fan base before the announcement and as you might have guessed, things did not go well. Check out the deal below complete with screenshots and a couple of goodies to boot.

"Silent Hill Book of Memories is a dungeon crawler style survival horror game with RPG elements, set in the Silent Hill universe, using the PS Vita's unique touch controls. Each night your personalised character enters a nightmare world, made up of a series of corridors and rooms, filled with monsters - some familiar, some new -special items, missions and traps. SHBOM offers multiplayer co-op play, where up to 4 players can join in."

People went nuts! A dungeon crawler? A straight hack and slash? WTF? OK you have been heard. Now sit back and take a deep breath. The game wasn't made for you. Hear me out. People get upset when you deviate from the formula, however, they get upset when you don't either. This is not a major console release, its a fun little diversion. When people take this stuff to heart and cry that its the death of (insert your appropriate title or activity here), I have to ask myself, how empty is your life?

Hell, this game won't detract from the original any more than that sorry remake of The Fog did to the original Carpenter classic. If its so horrible, it will simply fade into oblivion and eventually fetch ridiculous prices on Ebay by the next generation. Besides if this Fan Made Silent Hill Kart Racer ever became a reality, tell me you wouldn't want to play it.

All I'm saying is, wait till a game comes out and you play it before you start passing judgement. You may be surprised.
