Yesterday marked a very important milestone in my university life - my favourite club night is taking a break for the summer! Heavy stuff, I know. My friends and I said our sloppy goodbyes to the questionable establishment in a way only a group of poor drunk students can and, needless to say, it was amazing.

I have been keeping myself very busy and living it up since my exams ended, which explains my brief absence. This week I am reporting on London Collections: Men on behalf of Shop Curious Mag, which is an absolute delight - I already got to meet and interview lots of fascinating designers and it just keeps getting better. I haven't had time to take photos of my LC:M outfits, but hopefully I'll be able to take a few snaps once my schedule frees up a little bit!

We've been having exceptionally good weather in London these past few days and I've been taking full advantage of this sudden influx of vitamin D. I mean, I'm still pale as death, but at least I have some burnt spots on my shoulders now. I know, I know, I just can't contain my sexiness.

Anyhow - let's talk about my outfit instead. I need to heap praise on my dress a little bit. Isn't it amazing? You can get it from Sheinside for less than $40 and it comes with a satin petticoat & an amazing Mad Men-esque vibe. Very Betty Draper, n'est-ce pas? I've been really into 50s silhouettes and retro vibes lately, which is a refreshing break from the trashy chic looks I've been sporting throughout most of May. I've bought a wide assortment of cheapo sunglasses, so I am crossing my fingers that the sun is here to stay this time. What about you - are you enjoying the warm rays of sunshine and sudden onslaught of scantily dressed passerbys?

Out Of This World

Despite living in London and making no secret of my utter love for this city, I have only recently begun exploring the beautiful British capital in its entirety. Take Harrods, par example. Located in the beautiful borough of Knightsbridge, this department store is admired by fashion lovers all over the world, but ever since permanently relocating to London, I'd only visited it once - yesterday. I suppose my reluctance to frequent the posher parts of the city is tied to my minuscule student allowance - why torture myself with looking at luxurious things I cannot afford when I can raid the racks at Primark without making a dent in my budget? I am so glad I decided to visit anyway - albeit overflowing with masses of tourists, Harrods was exactly as breath-taking as I'd remembered it from my previous visits as... a tourist.

I opted for a long galaxy print dress I got from OMG Fashion, a British online boutique based in Manchester. I have always been a big fan of the oh-so-popular galaxy print (hello, have you seen my header?), so it's quite surprising to me that I've never owned anything with this print prior to getting this dress. It was so fun to style - I went a little wild with it, pairing it with a hot pink faux snake skin purse and silver Wizard of Oz-esque heels. I recommend you check OMG Fashion out - they have some really pretty dresses starting at £10 (that's how much mine cost!).

Review: Wish Want Wear

I was contacted by a company called Wish Want Wear a while ago, asking me if I would be interested in writing a review about their company in exchange for renting a dress of my choice. I checked out their website and immediately loved what I saw. Wish Want Wear is a London-based company which offers designer dresses and accessories for hire, meaning you can constantly be wearing fabulous clothes for a fraction of their retail price. I browsed their selection completely in awe, unsure which dress to pick and when to wear it.

I lucked out completely, because I had the perfect event coming up - my university's end of the year summer ball! There were loads of dresses to hire which made it nearly impossible to choose just one, but in the end I settled on this beautiful red gown by Rachel Gilbert. The dress arrived to me in pristine condition one day after I placed my order, neatly folded in a recyclable box. It looked absolutely stunning - it was even more breath-taking in person than on the website. It was a little too big for me - I'm size 6 but most dresses on offer at Wish Want Wear are a size 8 or larger. But I just belted it and got on with my night. I kept the jewellery very simple because the dress is so stunning and elaborate.

What do you think? Loving the dress as much as I did? Its retail price is £1,500 (which almost certainly makes it the most expensive thing I'd ever worn), but you can hire it for four days along with a free backup size for only £165! Now if that isn't an amazing deal, I don't know what is.

Tropical Fever

My life has been a little more exciting than I am used to as I have dedicated the past few weeks to acquiring new experiences. From going to standup comedy gigs to attending a makeover photoshoot to broadening my culinary horizons, I've been enjoying the onset of my three month holiday to the fullest. Yesterday I took part in the shoot of a music video for Room 94, a British four-piece pop/rock band, for their popular single "Chasing the Summer", which was perhaps the most novel experience of them all. I really enjoyed myself, although after several hours in the pool I was frozen to the bone and shivering all over. Luckily the other extras were extremely nice, which made the entire experience an absolute pleasure.

My outfit started off with a demure LBD, but I obviously had to add a little wacky twist to it to make it feel more "me". So out came my beloved neon accessories, reflective sunglasses and sparkly heels. Ah, life is so much fun right now. As is yours - because you might just be the winner of my circle lens giveaway! Chinatown Doll

Yesterday my friend Steph and I ended up taking a spontaneous stroll through central London after what should have been a short lunch in Yo Sushi. Somehow we ended up wandering around the inner district of our beautiful capital with bags full of bok choi and chrysanthemum tea for four hours. It's hard to stop yourself when you're surrounded by such amazing sights - London is so full of surprises. Leicester Square with its casinos is right next to the busy streets of Chinatown, creating a surreal mix of cultures and architecture. Dudes, London is really damn great.

I haven't worn my insane comic print leggings in ages now and it was so refreshing to dust them off and take to the streets looking like a deranged bird-of-paradise. It's funny how people react to you differently when your outfit is a little bit on the crazy side. Some people are really wary - to them, the fact that my legs are covered in gigantic speech bubbles seems to signify that I will want to steal their purse - while others smile at you and point in your direction on the streets. As a huge people-lover and an exhibitionist, I certainly prefer the latter reaction. How about you? Does wearing crazy clothes make you feel awkward or do you find it fun or even empowering?

DIY Caviar Nails with Microbeads Tutorial

I have been lusting after a caviar manicure for a while now - the trend is booming in the blogosphere and it screams stylish without looking overly contrived. I finally got my hands on a colourful set of microbeads and decided to give caviar nails a shot. Sadly they are in a bit of a state at the moment - I recently got rid of my gel manicure and all I am left with are brittle excuses of nails. But patience is not a virtue I possess so here is my first try! It was simple enough to do while watching Colin Farrell, aka Alexander the Great, gallop around on his horse looking sexier than necessary, so you shouldn't find it difficult.

1. Buy microbeads

I got mine from Romwe, for $10.99. You can get the same set here. In the UK, you can buy them in Superdrug, and I know Ciate and Nails Inc released a range of caviar nail art. But unsurprisinglt they are ridiculously overpriced. Instead, you can get cheap microbeads in art supply and craft stores - for example in the US, you can get them from the scrapbooking section of Michaels. If all else fails, you can always find them on eBay.

2. Paint your nails

Cover your nails with one coat of nail polish of your choice and let it dry. I used NYC nail polish in 320 Blue Sky and Barry M in Xmas Limited Edition 2012-A.

3. Embellish your nails

Now paint your nails with a second layer of nail varnish. Dip your nail in a pot of microbeads while they're still wet, to ensure they stick properly. Press down on your nail a little after applying the microbeads to shake off any loose particles. It is best to do your nails one by one to prevent the nail varnish from drying before you get a chance to apply the beads.

4. Enjoy!

My exams are finally over & my four months of holidays have just begun! I will be spending the entire summer in London, which is both exciting and terrifying. Exciting because I'll get to spend more time with my fabulous flatmates before flying off to Moscow, but terrifying because for the first time in my life - awful, I know - I really need a proper paid job. I am planning on spending the next week in sweet oblivion, but soon thereafter the blissful period of denial will inevitably end & I will begin my search for a real adult job. Adult?! Job?! Ugh, I know. But those outrageous cocktail nights are not going to pay for themselves.

I spend my first day of freedom in Camden with my amazing flatmates. We had some shisha, almost witnessed our waitress getting fired and after that enjoyed cheap drinks in Fifty Five Bar. If you ever find yourself in Camden, you should check it out - their concoctions are really delicious & they serve 2-4-1 cocktails 6-8 pm every day. Purrfect. I opted for a fairly toned-down ensemble today, mainly because I did not want to frighten my examiners. My British flag clutch is probably my favourite accessory at the moment - everywhere I go I seem to get compliments for it, mainly because Britons seem to truly enjoy this unspoken homage to their beloved homeland. I got this Alexander McQueen-esque clutch from 2AM Styles & at $49.99 it feels like kind of a bargain. And that's coming from someone who still doesn't have a job...

Lights That Stop Me

Spring has finally decided to grace the English capital with its presence and everything looks, well, beautiful! Whenever I look outside my window, I'm shocked by how colourful the world has become. I was so thrilled by this sudden change that I even bought some seeds to plant in the garden next to our house and got to work. Sadly my gardening mission was prematurely aborted when a big red spider began nonchalantly crawling toward my hand and I shrieked like a maniac and ran to safety. But, you know, I tried.

When the sun first came out, I was tempted to transform myself into a human rainbow and frolic around the streets of central London like a frenzied puppy, but that felt like too big a cliche. Instead I went all grey & sparkly, a curious juxtaposition of the bleak and the extraordinary sides of everyday life. I am getting a chunk of my hair chopped off tomorrow, so I spent a good part of the day just marveling at how long it is and growing alarmingly attached to it. But life is change and I'm learning to embrace that, so let's take a moment and wave my locks au revoir!

After dip dying my hair lilac, I decided to coordinate my outfit with my tresses - what use is a My Little Pony mane without an equally whimsical getup? I started off with my gradient feather skirt and before I knew it, I'd created a Lolita-esque school girl ensemble with a neo-60s twist. I really like the idea of mixing the styles of eras long gone with current trends - I've always believed that we have a lot to learn from our past, and I don't see why that rule shouldn't apply when it comes to fashion.

My friend and I spent a while searching for the perfect backdrop, and decided that it was finally time for Banksy to make a debut on my blog. I've been a fan of Banksy's work for a long time now - I love the way he mixes street art with strong political messages, and admire his creativity. Here's a little story behind the location of today's shoot - back in 2012, Banksy created an amazing mural in Turnpike Lane, which quickly became a real symbol of local pride in the area. But soon thereafter, the work was stolen (someone had literally cut out a piece of the wall it was drawn on) and then put on the US Fine Art Auctions Miami website with a starting price of $400,000 (over £250,000). The wall has been sad and hollow for a while now, but when I stopped by yesterday I noticed this little panda guarding it with two pistols. I thought the speech bubble - "take me to America" - really captured the contempt people living in the area feel towards the thieves of our original Banksy mural and so here it is, in all its glory.

Pastel Dip Dye DIY: Smart Beauty Pastel Hair Colour in Lilac Haze

Today I want to unleash upon you my new lilac hair! I've been toying with the idea of transforming my hair into a My Little Pony mane for a while now, and today I finally decided to do it. I bought a package of pastel hair colour from Smart Beauty in Lilac Haze - they have it in Boots for £2.99, which is such a bargain.

The colour comes pre-mixed, which saves you a lot of hassle. I pretty much just smothered the ends of my hair in the mixture and let it develop for 30 minutes, which is the maximum recommended time. The colour is nice but quite subtle, so if you're looking for something a little wilder Manic Panic or Directions dye might be your best bet. I am quite pleased with the outcome and my mother hates it, so I guess it's safe to say that this semi-permanent dye did a great job :)

Purple Pastel Hair Inspiration

Periwinkle lilac, cotton candy, mermaid sea foam, unicorn silver - pastel hair is the hottest thing right now. I have been toying with the idea of colouring my hair a fairy tale shade for a while now and have compiled a considerable amount of beautiful images of incredible hair. And I figured I'd share some of these treasures with you! I am getting my hair cut tomorrow and if fear allows, I will colour it lilac by the end of this week. The reason I settled on purple-toned tresses is that violet counterbalances yellow and so if it stains my hair, it will take out any potential brassiness (anyone who bleaches their hair will understand what I'm talking about). But I absolutely adore pink as well - if all goes well, that might be my next adventure. But I'm definitely getting ahead of myself. Revision Blues

I am back in London and with exams getting closer and closer, all of my friends have barricaded themselves in their rooms or have semi-permanently moved to the library to learn everything they should have learnt throughout the year. Do I sound bitter? That's because I don't have exams and I'm so bored, because nobody wants to hang out with me. Weeeep. Well, technically I do have exams - three papers in Russian. But studying for language tests is very different and can be extremely fun if done right. Last week I went for coffee with an amazing Russian lady, I have been listening to Russian pop for the past week (which is so awful it makes me smile nonstop - I tried to choose the best one, see video above!) and I am currently reading Vogue Russia - all under the guise of revising.

But today is a happy day - it is my flatmate's birthday and we are getting cocktails tonight to celebrate her impressive age, the big two oh. Happy birthday, Mary (who was also my amazing photographer today)! As one of our friends pointed out over lunch today, "twenty means you are already dead in dog years", so it really does call for a celebration! I didn't know what to throw on to do justice to this memorable day, so I opted for a surprisingly demure earthy ensemble. My favourite part is the beige cardigan - I'm not sure the photos do it justice, but it's an amazing light-weight piece of knitted goodness, and it has an amazing tribal feel because of the tassels. I got this cardigan from Sheinside for $36 (with free worldwide shipping!) and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a great summery sweater, this is the one. I can't wait to wear it with a pair of denim shorts and a crop top, over a simple Aztec-print romper... So many options, so little time.

Long Road Up To Recovery

I've been holed up at home for three days now and I am beginning to go a little crazy. Although I've been spending the past few days in the lovely company of Anton Chekhov and the entire Game of Thrones cast, I cannot seem to shake a craving to socialise. This is why I finally arranged to meet my friend for coffee today and just take a few hours off to soak up the beauty of Viennese architecture and the occasional ray of sunshine. The photos in this post are from a similar rendez-vous last week. Behind me, you can see the entrance to Hofburg Palace - the complex currently serves as the official residence of the President of Austria, but it has retained much of the glory and splendour of its Habsburg past. Definitely a must-see if you ever visit Vienna!

Wreaking Sartorial Havoc

Vienna is a grand cultural city with a lot to offer in terms of aesthetics, but I find it to be lacking in the fashion department. Its unspoken dress code is mind-numblingly monotone - think ballerinas and beige trench coats in spring, Uggs and Moncler bombers in winter. In other words, not exactly my cup of tea. So this spring I have taken it upon me to wreak sartorial havoc on the peaceful citizens of the Austrian capital. It all began when I arrived at the airport in a big pink faux fur with a gigantic fuchsia suitcase in tow - the reception wasn't necessarily negative, but confused at best. And here I am, in a leopard coat, with turquoise feathers in one ear, red wedge trainers and a bright yellow bag, pushing the boundaries of Viennese tolerance de la mode once again. Let's all hope that I don't get deported before next Wednesday.

Nothing Changed At All

This week I visited my famalam in the Czech Republic and it was fabulous just relaxing with a pint of beer and some delicious food. Needless to say, I'll likely put on at least fifty pounds following the insane debauchery that my trip turned out to be, thanks to my grandparents' heart-wrecking worries that I will "snap in half" unless I eat several platefuls of carbs and protein. If you ever visit this glorious country, I think you should be warned that Czech cuisine isn't for the faint-hearted... or literally anyone trying to stay in shape. With its greasy dumplings, succulent meat and thick creamy sauces, it's as likely to give you a foodgasm (food orgasm, anyone?) as it is a heart attack. Having said that though, I think it's certainly worth the risk.

Fox on The Rocks

Are you familiar with the folklore concept of familiar spirits? They were believed to be magical alter-egos or the supernatural doppelgängers of an individual. Well, my familiar spirit - or power animal - would have to be a fox. Not because they're small and cute (although...), but because of the characteristics ascribed to them. Independent, adaptable and intelligent are three words I would gladly associate with. Plus they like berries. I love berries! It just works. I mean, for a long time my hair even resrbmled a red fox's pelt. And although I find myself wanting something a little breezier as I near the completion of my second decade on this planet, my new blonde hair is close to the colour of a fennec fox! Eiter it's meant to be or I am really good at lying to myself.

Now that we got that potentially disconcerting, but absolutely necessary fox rant out of the way, let's move on to my outfit. Aren't those blue shoes just so... intense? funky? neo-cowboy-ish? I got them from Zalando, an amazing online boutique. I loved the company when I still lived in Austria where they are very popular, so I was ecstatic when I realised they were expanding to the UK. They carry pretty much all of my favourite brands and their customer service was incredible - I got my shoes in less than a week and ahhh, can we just talk about how vivid and beautiful these shoes are? Other than that, I finally decided to don some stripes - they're so immensely popular this spring that I was almost unsure as to whether I should try to resist or not. But screw it, stripes are timeless! Now, if you excuse me, I have to go back to reading about red foxes. And silver foxes. And fennec foxes. And Fleet Foxes. Okay, I'll stop right there.

Somebody Spiked Me

...and it's over! What is? The second term of this academic year. And I am getting increasingly emotional. In Septermber, I will move to Moscow, putting the life I have built for myself in London on hold for a year and leaving my friends behind. There is, of course, an upside to the end of term - holidays! Well, technically I am on study leave, but with mere four exams, I don't feel a great sense of urgency. Next Wednesday I'm flying to Vienna to visit my family, which means new landscapes, slash loads of photos of my balcony. Review: Royal Vision Macaron Circle Lenses in Puffy 3 Tones - Blue

Following the success of my last circle lens review, as well as my two giveaways, I decided it was time to bring you another! This time I teamed up with EyeCandy's, an online shop specialising in circle lenses, hair extensions and Asian beauty products, to bring you another review. I picked out a pair of bright blue Royal Vision lenses from the Macaron Series, called Puffy 3 Tones.

Design: ★★★☆☆ ... Despite their amazing colour and general loveliness, I have to give these lenses only 3 stars for design. Why? Because they simply refused to stay put in one place and kept travelling around my eye, making me look slightly insane.

Colour: ★★★★★ ... The colour of these lenses is extremely vivid, which was a nice surprise - they looked exactly as they promised they would. Despite its brightness, the colour does not look too unnatural and is very pretty up close. The inner ring is hazel, which helped them blend in with my natural eye colour, which was a definite plus.

Enlargement: ★★★★☆ ... At 14.5mm, these contacts are large, but not unnaturally so. As you can see in the photos, they did not make me look like an extra terrestrial visitor to planet Earth even without makeup on. Well, not more so than usual. So if you are looking for extreme enlargement, these won't cut it - but to me, that was a good thing.

Comfort: ★★★☆☆ ... I am used to wearing prescription lenses on a daily basis, and I have to admit that these were a little less comfortable. It wasn't their size - it was the previously mentioned problem with them "travelling" around my eye, which obstructed my vision. Other than that, jolly good.

Bow Down Before the Crown

It's been far too long, ladies and gents - but I am back. Spring is that weird time of year when everyone seems to be awakening from their winter slumber and skipping around like a gleeful chicken, while I ponder the meaning of life and struggle to get out of bed. Combine that with an avalanche of essay deadlines and ultra-low temperatures (hello, global "warming"!) and what you get is a very useless shadow of a human being. A useless shadow that only properly functions at night, when it makes questionable decisions which make it difficult for it to leave bed in the morning, as discussed earlier.

Anyway - let's talk about clothes instead, because oh em gee, isn't my dress just so pretty? I got it from Sheinside, It's asymmetrical, it's peplum, it's white - it's perfect. Definitely check it out - Sheinside have many more equally beautiful dresses in store. Also, I would like to point out that I spent a good two hours making my floral crown and I regret nothing, although my fingertips look like tiny colanders now. Today my friend Steph (who, by the way, is also my surprisingly patient photographer) and I ventured out to Hackney Downs Studios to hit up their amazing vintage kilo sale. Surrounded by absolute bargains at £15/kilo, I felt like I was in a little - albeit poorly lit - vintage paradise. From colourful sports jackets to gigantic plaid shirts, there was something for everyone. Well, as long as they're at least a little bit hipster. Speaking of which, the place was crawling (sometimes literally) with attractive men. I figured that - despite their general lankiness - at £15/kilo the men would have worked out quite expensive though, so I just concentrated on bagging some clothes... And I was very successful in my endeavour - I scored a form-fitting denim jacket, a suede vest, a German military hat, some jewellery and most notably a jacket made of neoprene! I am absolutely perplexed by it and am still deciding whether I like it or not. But it's certainly on the weird side, which is always a plus.

Not to go all deep on you guys, but isn't the whole scene so 60s Berlin, with the barbed wire and wall background? It's fantastic how far we've come as a society, but there are still so many people living in absolutely inhumane conditions in the world today.
